This is a cute spot. A place to drop in and have a cocktail or a shot. I will definitely be back, even if it's in passing.

Cajun Mikes is locate on the south side of Baronne Street just west of Canal Street. I won't go into why and how I ended up going here tonight, but wow, am I glad I did. When you enter Cajun Mike's, it screams right into your face "Dive Bar!" From the tin ceiling to the well weathered bar top, fancy is not on the menu here. I came here because I heard their food was top notch, and I was hungry and grabbing food to go, so less walking to the hotel was the strategy so the food wouldn't be freezing when I got it back to the room. I perused the menu and decided on a few red beans and rice, a gator sausage po boy, a shrimp po boy and a roast beef po boy. I figured I may as well bring back a good sampling for both of us to try. I placed my order with the female bartender and then ordered a can of beer, no taps in this swanky joint. While I waited for my food to come out, I drank my beer and listened to the regulars and the bartender talk about various topics. My food was delivered pretty quickly, I then embarked on my walk back to the hotel. Once I arrived, we heated up the red beans and rice as it was not warm, but once it was, it was delicious. The big chunks of sausage really made it good and it had just the right amount of spice. All three of the po boy sandwiches were delicious in their own way: the shrimp was crispy and tender and full of flavor. The roast beef was full of flavor and absolutely delicious and the hair sausage was moist and flavorful as well. Each one was great in their own way. While o cannot speak much to the actual bar, since I spent limited time there, I can say the food here is outstanding. My beer was cold which is all I can ask for from a bar really. If you're hungry and don't want to venture down bourbon street, this place has great food that is reasonably priced.

Last time in town, a couple folks informed me of this place... They said it's a cool dive Bar.. they were right. If you like old dive bars, you will love this place It's clean, Great, atmosphere, friendly staff, cold Yuengling beer, and great food. Unfortunately, I did not eat here, but I did have an ice cold Yuengling beer or two... Alex, the bartender was outstanding, friendly and very personable. I'll be back for food next time as the menu looks great.

Cajun Mike's cheeseburger. I mean a REAL hamburger here, folks! Can taste it is homemade. Very good burger!

Cajun Mike's is a good spot in Nola that is small dive bar that locals frequent between Canal and Poydras areas. It's small. But has good bar food to help patrons who need to eat after having drinks. Bartenders are friendly. Drinks are reasonably priced, though they sometimes do run out of certain products based on supply.

First time in here and my experience was amazing, watching the LSU Tigers win the 2025 national championship! Everyone, including the patrons, Bartender and staff was so friendly and they treated me like I was a local - I was wearing Tiger gear and cheering along with them, so I'm sure that helped. I also had the alligator Po'Boy and really liked it. Next time I'm in town, I'm coming back!!! Cool place that tourists would overlook (another selling point). Enjoy!

A great night cap spot coming back from FQ to downtown. We stopped in for one last drink and maybe a Po Boy to soak it all up. It honestly not a stop for Po Boy but for a welcoming patrons and bartender while they play sports (hockey at the time) on all their screens and a great background music. Theey also welcomes you to play music on the online jukebox as well. If staying in downtown, visit for this spot for a nice, slow pace night outside of all the debauchery happening on the other side of Canal St.

The food was EXCELLENT and they were especially attentive to my seafood allergy. The bartender was also absolutely amazing!

Divey dive bar. No wait , good service. Very classic poboys. Low prices. Open til 4 or 5? If I have a late flight into town I will always go here for a sandwich. And the regulars are very entertaining. Most of the employees seem to drink here off-shift as well. Felt included, which can be unusual in such a spot. Still, lower your expectations as far as decor and seating.

A cool little bar just off Canal away from the noisy chaos of the Quarter. Friendly bartender slings drinks, takes food orders, and delivers food. The drinks are good and the food is delicious, except for the catfish po-boy I ordered. Not sure if it was the fish or me (I never had catfish before), but it was awful. I changed it up for roast beef and it was amazing! If I lived in NOLA, I'd be a regular.

This is the best local dive ever. We are traveling and I wanted to find dinner but everything is so touristy. So I just walked the streets and came across this hidden local gem. The bartender was super cool but spicy, so be ready. She is going to treat you like a local. The food was amazing. The Po' Boys were great, the bread was chewy and soft, the pork was tender and flavorful, the alligator sausage was tasty, the fries were so crispy. The drinks were good and it smelled like a dive! If that's not your thing, don't go here.

It's probably one of the divier (is that a word? Heh...) dive bars I've hit in NOLA. Recommended by our hotel bartender, he did warn it's a really small, no-nonsense, no frills place. "But it's a good chill place, and the drinks are very affordable." He also mentioned going there after his shift (which was in a few minutes) so Hubbers, Big Bro and I decided to follow for a nightcap. And he's right: they truly are a small dive bar. Nothing showy or amazing, it really is just a bar. And like most bars I've been to in NOLA, it does have its own personality as well as a following. It was somewhat full for a midweek random night. We each had a drink and boy, are they generous with the liquor!(I went for a hurricane.) I'll admit I'd already had a couple before walking through here, but this last drink truly did me in. I may have to make a mental note to start here first should I do a pub crawl. Definitely need to put this place on that radar.

Walked in because of the reviews Walked out because of the smell. Small dive bar Bartender seemed uninterested just said order when ready and walked away Place looks dingy Maybe if you're drunk at 2am this seems like a good choice lol

    Catfish basket

This place is awesome! Besides the delicious drinks, the food is seasoned to the gods! The catfish was chef's kiss. We were here for the red beans and rice was special. We got it with the chicken and it was perfect! I highly recommend this place for sure. Thank you Checf Tig. You put so much love into the food and it shows! I ate the red beans and rice so quick i have no pic but the catfish, damn.

Hole in the wall dive bar that serves fulfilling food and good drinks. Not much to look at at but definitely worth a stop.

Is this the type of sports bar where kids can come eat (18yr old)?

No, the place is pretty small and there probably wouldn't be room for kids

The Sit Down Comedienne and Red Bean absolutely stole the show. Their timing, delivery, and audience interaction had the room laughing from start to finish. A few of the other comics are still finding their rhythm, but that's part of the charm of supporting emerging talent. Located just across from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, The Howlin' Wolf Den was easy to find. It was fully wheelchair accessible and much larger inside than its exterior suggests. The venue also features a full bar and a reasonably priced finger food menu, making it a great place to spend an evening. Overall, it was a relaxed, entertaining night filled with plenty of laughs and a great way to kick off my New Orleans visit. #TysAdventures26 #HowlinWolfDen #GumbeauxComedy #NewOrleans #WheelchairAccessible #SupportLocalComedy #RedBean #TheSitDownComedienne

Food 3.5/5 Service 4/5…read moreAmbiance 4.5/5 I was visiting New Orleans for the weekend, and being tired from a flight in, I wanted something close to the hotel. My friends picked a spot, and we went - and we had no regrets. There was one man running the whole kitchen the night we came in, and he was doing great, although he was very busy. Food came out great, my friends had the "Badass Burger" which they all praised, especially the fresh fries. I personally had the Hot 8 Sampler and a simple Bacon Quesadilla - and those were no slouch either. If I had anything to complain about, it's that the price is a little high for the food you get. Though, that's to be expected so close to the convention center in a dive like this. Overall, my friends and I had a great experience - and we'd all be happy to come back.
