The store has excellent customer service. Went to buy some drywall and needed to have it cut. When I walked in, Thomas asked immediately if he could help me. He got a cart picked out the drywall cut it, lifted heavy bags of compound. Then Leonard helped me get to the checkout counter. Decided to give Home Depot a second chance. Boy was I wrong. I was looking to replace 4 interior doors in my condo. Came in on a Sunday & I could not find anyone to help me. I saw the doors I wanted. Made an appointment & paid a deposit for HD to have a contractor come out to my Condo to measure doors for replacement. Paid deposit & had my appointment canceled without notice & no refund. I have had no problems with any of their stores. Their customer service dept. in corporate is terrible. I bought gift cards and paid with a credit card. The charges went thru, but for an unknown reason the cards were deactivated and after 5 days now they still have 't responded. e mails and phone calls to them go unanswered. Follow up - customer service finally responded. I had to sign a document waving my rights and they will issue a refund which may take up to 21 days. I was exceptionally disappointed to have made trip based on an item being shown as in stock. Multiple associates attempted to locate the item and were unable to locate the items. The in store inventory also showed the items available. I left frustrated as I had planned to purchase. The items were on sale and as it turns out were unavailable at any other local store and were full price on the website. From a customer perspective, this is a huge turn off and will not encourage me to spend at Home Depot in the future. read more

This was my first time coming to this Home Depot location. My expectations weren't high, but this experience was awful. I do not recommend this location for anyone. I only came here for 4 small screws. After trying to find the screws for a while, I asked someone for help. As a customer, I got passed over to a different associate, twice. The first associate didn't help much since she was busy with another customer. The second associate tried to help me, with little to no knowledge on how to help me. He was also unprofessional, asking me questions to help him help myself. I never bought screws before, so I barely know how to find it here. We walked everywhere for it, but no progress. All the associates were unprofessional, seemed very vague about knowing how to help a customer. The associates would also leave me hanging, to help other people while I still don't have the screws. Walked into Home Depot this morning and there were two attendants chatting. They asked if I needed help and I explained that I needed a tape or pad to stick a rug and floor together. The gentleman looked something up in the Home Depot app and said that it would be in tape or flooring. I thought he would walk me over, since it was clear I had no idea what I was looking for, but he didn't. I walked over to the tape, didn't see what I needed so then walked over to flooring. I bumped into IB, another Home Depot staff member. I explained what I needed and he walked me right over to the different rug tapes. He talked me through my needs and suggested a few different ones. We settled on one, I thanked him for his help and went to pay. As I was leaving the first guy asked if I found what I needed. I said yes( kinda no thanks to you?!). The one thing I ask of you management is to answer the damn phone. I went in 3days ago with all measurements to get a quote for my windows replacement, I was told they need to send someone out to get the measurements themselves for an accurate quote. Unfortunately a guy by the name JIMMY shows up whining about why I need to sign a contract so he can give me a quote I'd pay him before someone comes to take the measurements. Man is telling me him not having the measurements doesn't affect the quote and that he is not the one to take them anyways. I had to ask him to leave because he understood zero about what his own job intel! Man was upset I wasn't there waiting for him when I had a whole family there. He just wanted to sell and had no idea how to do it ! So to this location manager pick the damn phone or remove the phone number so we know you don't have one ! For the most part the staff is helpful. I've never had a bad experience at this home depot. They no longer give military discounts the way they used to. I really like this Home Depot because of the proximity to the interstate/where I live and it's a pretty nice store. They always have a wide variety and everything I've come in to get has been in stock. I also really appreciate that there are always so many employees around that are willing to help when I need to find something (which happens all the time bc it seems like every Home Depot location is organized so differently). I also noticed today that they were putting the finishing touches on their newly resurfaced parking lot which will be excellent once it dries. I come here because it's convenient. Every time I come here I get attitude. I try and return unopened things I don't need and get called names. I have an extended warranty on my wet dry vac but they won't take it back. If you have no choice I guess go here. The other Home Depot is much nicer. Protocols for COVID are not being unforced at this store. 5 ppl walked in without wearing masks when I approached the customer service about my concern their replay was "they don't need to" Well... yes they do 1) states on entry they are mandatory 2) State requires it. Upon checkout the self service employee did not wipe down between customers as they have this "protocol" in place - when I questioned her she said "I did" however I stood back and watched 5 ppl use the same self checkout computer without being wiped down. This is the worst Home Depot I have ever patronized. It has everything to do with customer service. Let me share my experience with you. Yesterday I go in around 730p to get replacement vertical window blinds. I find the blinds I want to buy but now need to find an employee to cut them to size. I don't see anyone nearby so I approach an employee who is sitting down at a computer in the appliances section. She calls for an employee over the loud speaker system. She says someone will be with me shortly. So I go back over to the blinds area and waited for 10 minutes. No one arrived (despite me seeing several employees walking around surrounding areas). I go back to that lady on the computer and tell her that no one helped me. She gets up and goes to find someone. I wait another 10 minutes and no one came, not even her. So I walk to the front of the store to the customer service desk. I tell a worker that I've been waiting for someone to cut blinds for me. She calls for someone in "flooring" to come over. I stand there for another 10 minutes. By now it is 8p and the previous employee disappeared. A different employee approaches me and asks if anyone has helped me. I restated what has been going on. He apologized and was about to call someone until another customer came complaining loudly about updated hours not being posted on the door. He ended up dealing with her. Finally, the previous employee comes back and says to me someone will be meeting me in the blinds section. So I walk back to the blinds section and wait another 5 minutes. I am approached by another employee who spoke really broken English. He kept asking me a question about what I need cut. I couldn't understand at all. I pointed at the metal headrail and told him I needed that cut. Then he says something about not knowing how to cut metal. He said something about another employee who knows how to do it isn't working. I laughed and walk away. It is shame that no one could help me. I waited for over 30 minutes and talked to 4 employees to get someone to cut the blinds. Only to find out he didn't know how to do it anyway. I saw at least 10-12 different employees walking around but NO ONE could use the machine to cut the blinds. I ended up going to Lowe's (open til 9, not 8) and they custom cut blinds on the spot. This location lies about the items they have in stock and then will refuse to give you a refund. This place commits FRAUD and will keep your money. After ordering a refrigerator, Home Depot told me on delivery day that the item was out of stock. This was the first in an unbelievable series of events that has been going on all month. I cancelled the order days later and was not told anything else. I got a printout that read "order cancelled." I thought I'd get a refund in a few days and that would be it. Over a week later, this store is giving me the runaround and outright refusing to process a refund for an order I cancelled for an item that is out of stock. I was told that the vendor - which I did not pay and contract with - needed to cancel the order, and THEN the store could process the refund. This is unbelievable - a debit or credit transaction can simply be reversed. I have not been given any explanation for why someone else needs to bless my order cancellation before the store will refund me. I am simply told "it's the process." This "process" makes no sense. I have not been told when or how my refund can be processed. I have not been told who will process it or how. Meanwhile, over $1200 is in Home Depot's bank for an item they lied about having in stock. I've been dealing with this all month with NO help. Hi! I haven't been to a HD in a while, but knew this was one of the best run & well stocked from friends. Was in the neighborhood for another reason & needed Frost Covers for outside water connections, weather advisory. Stopped in on Saturday, super busy, but a fun energy, Holliday Decorations were out for Christmas- discounted early so snagged a few. Watched the little ones be so excited at the animated decorations moving & singing like being at Disney World. Garden Shop had great reductions on Flowers, so bought some season appropriate. Needed some brooms & floor cleaners, again great prices. Then the search began, Faucet Covers. Walked everywhere- no where in sight. Walked up front & a super helpful HD Employee walked up & said what do you need? I described - he says without missing a beat, back to the left, between aisles 38 & 39 in between on a display. We came to the store yesterday to pick up an air filter for our HVAC system. All the employees were smiling that we passed and greeted us each time. The cashiers were even standing at the end of their aisles ready to assist the next customers quickly even though we were just going to use the self checkout. My husband and I have been on the phone for the last hour and a half trying to get someone to answer the phone. We were to have a door delivered, the driver showed up (1) one person for a 200lb door. The truck was too heavy to backup onto our driveway. We tried to call the store numerous times, holding for more than 30 minutes. I've visited this location twice to purchase moving supplies. The first time the box supply was low (only a few medium boxes, lots of extra large, and no large sizes) but the second time (a week later) all sizes had been replenished. Help has never been hard to find here which is important considering how long it could take to find something on your own given the size of the store. As new homeowners and given this is the closest Home Depot, I'm sure I will be paying a visit again sooner than later. read more

Review is concerning flooring and delivery. Flooring dept was helpful in placing our order for our new floors but then there was some mix up with delivery being late and clashing with the installation date. My husband had to coordinate the delivery and installation when it should have been Home Depot doing this. And now our carry-in delivery ended up being curbside despite our carry-in delivery contract. One delivery person was up for doing the job and the other one was not. So they ended up leaving our pallet outside and me and my husband ended up carrying our pallet of new flooring into our home ourselves. TERRIBLE service! I can't get anyone on the phone at this store to make them aware of this. I can only hope installation goes well, but from here on out I'll drive the extra distance to avoid this Home Depot and/or start being a Lowe's customer. read more

Worst. Home Depot. Ever. This store is the definition of how *NOT* to run a business. The majority of the staff, especially the apron wearers, were not only unfriendly, they were unhelpful, rude, and not in the slightest interested in helping any customer, or in selling anything. I went in to purchase a grill. I knew exactly which one I wanted, and that the store had 7 in stock. I had the page pulled up with the photo and SKU to make it easy to find the exact grill I wanted. We're talking someone ready to spend $350-$400 on a grill and accessories. You'd THINK that would of interest from a store that, you know, sells things. Went into the grill area and looked around for an "apron" to help find the grill, after we couldn't locate it on the shelves ourselves. Reggie and his posse showed up. Two in Home Depot aprons, the third wearing a Team Home Depot T-shirt. The third guy was the "customer". I asked if they could get someone to help me locate a grill I wanted to buy. Their response? "We're busy helping a customer right now." Indicating the guy in the Home Depot T-shirt who was clearly a friend, and who didn't seem to need any help. Then, instead of offering to help after they were done, they simply wandered off. Went over to customer service to ask for help. Two sat there not interested in helping any customers waiting in line. Stephanie was there, eating, drinking, talking with food in her mouth - completely annoyed that actual customers should be intruding on her time at work. The "If only we didn't have pesky customers" attitude. Don't worry, with service like this, this Home Depot won't need to worry about customers much longer. Got one to ring me up for the grill. Didn't bother asking about propane or anything else, so I figured I'd get those later, and maybe from another store. She promised someone would get the grill and meet us in that area. We went over and waited. No less than 8 other "aprons" wandered about, as if they were doing their best to avoid customers. Not one asked if we were being helped, or if we needed any help. Then Matt finally came to the rescue. Younger guy actually wanted to help us, went to track down the grill. One of the managers was already out in that area of the garden center, where a guy was lowering a pallet of them with a forklift. Finally some progress. Matt helpfully offered to get a flat cart, and get the grill and bring it to the front of the garden center. Checked out with a bag of charcoal, and asked for a propane tank. That part went well enough. The other guy at the propane area was also very helpful and friendly. If it wasn't for him and Matt, I'd want to give even less than one star. Compared to other Home Depots in the area, including the one in Fairfax, and my "home store" of Falls Church, this is THE WORST. Had the grill been available at my store, I would never have journeyed here. As it is, I will rather order on line and have it sent to the Falls Church location instead. read more

My husband and I went in to plan our kitchen and worked with a very nice individual Andre. Although very nice, he lacked any follow-up. We made another subsequent appointment as thought it was just we needed to be in person. He said he would send us the updated drawings and quote via email. I followed up a few times over the coming weeks asking for an update. I then stopped in store twice, both times he was not in, but I left messages with colleagues and they promised me he would get back to me. Came in about 45 minutes before closing looking to buy a power drill. They were all locked up and spent about 20 minutes trying to find someone to help me. They then made the announcement that the store was closing and to bring your items up to the register. Again, no one to help me get the drill I needed. We have unfortunately paid this Home Depot for two jobs over the past 6 months. In one case the subcontractor issued us a refund for ~$600 because Home Depot had overestimated the cost of materials--but Home Depot only refunded $300 to our credit card and then sent a paper receipt stating that the remaining $300 had been issued via "cash refund." It's clear that store employees decided to take that $300 for themselves, as we were out of the country at the time this cash refund was supposedly handed over. After spending two hours in person asking for an explanation, we came away with nothing other than everyone at the customer service desk stating "oh no the refund was really only the $300 you got--that's just the way the computer does it." It's obvious that this is a store-wide issue and not a single employee. The second job that we had done was botched--and we have spent a month having Lakisha at Customer Service tell us to call the subcontractor, while the subcontractor tells us to call Home Depot. It's worth noting that Lakisha never asks for the job number or our name--she just answers every call and says, "Oh no you need to talk to the people that we paid." After multiple calls and emails, we eventually reached someone other than Lakisha, who admitted that yes this is a problem that Home Depot as prime contractor must fix. I expect that we will need to contact them again in a couple of weeks to see what the status of the repair is. Corporate Home Depot is clearly not taking responsibility for this shoddy location while its employees are siphoning off cash from customers and refusing to correct mistakes that they've made. read more

This review is partly for The Home Depot but especially for Mike in the paint department, who delivered just about the best customer service experience I've had anywhere. I went in earlier to day to look at paint colors for an accent wall in my new apartment, having little experience with painting, other than a project I did about 7 years ago (whoo). Mike kindly explained all the different types of Behr paint -- the goods and bags -- along with sheens and all sorts of other things in which I really wasn't well-versed. He was super friendly and went out of his way to ensure that I would have everything I need to tackle the painting job tomorrow. As far as the store, I don't go in here super often but have generally always been able to find what I need. It's sometimes hard to find an associate to ask questions of, but never impossible! Purchased a mower a few days ago, and found out that they were being sold online for about $70 cheaper. After checking Home Depot's price match policy, it seemed like I could get it honored pretty easily. It met all their criteria, even had a few brick and mortar locations (if not in the local area). So, found a bit of time and headed in to get a good deal. Definitely not the experience I had at all. The manager on duty straight up refused to honor it; screaming at me that they only price matched Sears and Lowe's, and that acmetools.com wasn't a retailer. (???) She refused to get another manager, stating that she was the only one in the store (a lie, another manager came up as I was walking out). It would have been one thing if she had been able to politely explain their policy. Instead, she was more concerned about saving this Home Depot location $70. They can have it. I'm fortunate enough to have a bunch of other locations within a few minutes, cause after that, I'm never stepping foot in that location again. What a nightmare. read more

My wife and I are moving to Alexandria and were so thrilled to find a Home Depot that was so close to us which means no longer having to go to the Home Depot in seven corners. The latter is ALWAYS packed and everyone there suddenly forgets how to park - a nightmare. Regardless, this Home Depot location was quiet, clean, and lovely.
