I have a theory about HD... The location and demographics of each HD dictates the friendliness I was shocked out how friendly and helpful each employee I encountered at this HD in Arvada. People stopped what they were doing to give me directions to the items I needed. I didn't get any of that Home Depot stare away and walk the other way from any of the people working there....shocking really. The aisles? Breezy. The Garden Center? THRIVING. Birds practically singing in surround sound. Garden crew? Absolute sunshine. Helpful. Smiling. Ready to make my yard the envy of my neighborhood, as it should be. And can we talk about Amy at the register? Queen behavior. That woman was moving like she had somewhere fabulous to be. Clearing out winter nonsense, scanning like a pro, offering help like she was on commission for kindness. I leave my cart with her thinking, "Yes ma'am, hold my treasures while I grab a rug and live my best life." Now here's where the tulips wilt. I head to get a rug cut. Crickets. Not a soul in sight. No orange aprons. No wandering associates. Just me and my increasingly dramatic inner monologue. Fine. Washer/dryer section. I find a sweet girl just vibing. Bless her heart, she pages someone overhead. We wait. And wait. And WAIT. Twenty minutes later, the only thing that showed up was my irritation. I go searching again. A security guard does the classic "I do not see you." Matt at paint? Smiles politely and then executes a professional eye-avert. The washer/dryer girl? Vanished into the retail abyss. A new associate appears.....glaring at her current customer like they personally offended her ancestors. I try. I circle. I wander. Fifteen more minutes. Alas. No rug. No help. Just unmet potential. So here's the tea: Garden Center = 10/10, springtime magic. Amy at checkout = MVP, give her a raise. Rug cutting situation = a mystery worthy of its own investigation series. I am reviewing not so much this store but their appliance delivery and resolution department. Fernando, the supervisor, just lost a 25-year loyal customer because his team did not install range or frig, would not come back to finish install, and would not refund appliances. "Install" was supposed to be done on Tuesday (they blew me off), was done on Thursday, and I called them Monday to resolve, but alas the window for any action closed because it had been more than 48 hours... What a scam and what a snake! All I need is for them hook up range power cord, so we can plug it in, and to fix the water line on frig thay doesn't work. I am on my 5th full remodel and will be using Lowe's moving forward. read more

So headed into this Home Depot for an upgrade to The Mausoleum, and for the most part, it's as expected for a Home Depot that just went through a ransacking for the holidays. This place was still recovering with their sales. In spite that, my inquiries were for non-holiday stuff, and oddly many things for electrical were out of stock on many shelves. I had to get people twice to check their inventory to see if they had more, which made the search so time costly. But they did have Starlink, which that was cool, I guess. read more

This place was packed at noon on a Wednesday, probably the busiest Home Depot I've ever been inside. Paradise City by Guns N' Roses was playing over the loud speaker, found myself wishing I'd brought my noise canceling AirPods but that's okay, I'll push through. Lots of people rushing by, seemingly in a huge hurry... I'm not in work boots but I highly recommend closed toe shoes with all these giant carts rushing by. Lunch hour supply pickups? Wrong footwear: I'm in sandals because it's a beautiful Colorado day. It's a vibe in there, not my vibe but definitely a vibe. I'm clearly not the target audience and that's okay. The girl who works in paint on 4/19/2025 at 3:30pm is the rudest person. My mother asked her a simple question "excuse me, where are the grills?" And instead of politely saying "one moment" or "I'm not sure." She blatantly turned her face, helped another customer, and didn't acknowledge my mother's presence. I had to respond "or ignore us?" And she rudely went "I was helping another customer." Well, no you weren't, and if you were you still acknowledge someone asking you a question by saying "one moment." Worst customer service. I've had to rent equipment from this Home Depot twice. Both times was a 30+ min wait as the 1 guy they have running rentals takes 30+ mins per customer. If there's more than one person ahead of you in line, forget it, you'll die of thirst before you get the equipment you came for. read more

I work in maintenance so I'm at Home Depot a few times a day multiple times a week. Recently when I go to self check out someone follows me to scan my items. I told them I have multiple transactions so it's easier if I do it myself. They told me it's mandatory that they scan even in the self check out. Well the last few times I've been paying attention to them picking and choosing who they scan. Most of the time they are brown or black that gets the "extra" help. Today I women in front of me had arms full of tools , both employees let her scan herself. Than when I walked up with a faucet they had to help me scan because it's "mandatory" Literally as I'm watching this women scan her own items..... I proceed to tell them I'm confused because I asked at a different locations and was told it's mandatory for everyone to get their items scanned by a worker when in the self checkout. She said only if they have enough employees.. as I turned around and saw 3 employees standing around not doing anything and wondering why none of the white people before me were scanning their own items. Rented an aerator for my lawn for 82 dollars for 4 hours. Was given no instructions on it what so ever. Figured it out and returned it 2 hours later to be told I would be assessed a cleaning fee because there was dirt in the aerator tubes... which is the whole purpose of an aerator. To top it off it literally brought the employee joy to announce this to me. Never again! We're taking our home and garden needs across the street to Lowe's. What a rip off. read more

3-4 stars depending on who you get to help. Generally it's an in and out so no problems requiring associate assistance. When you are looking for something specific and need some help it can either be a breeze or a hassle. Have purchased paint, plants, a new garage door/opener, a new front door, lumber, and also rented a dehumidifier for this location. Have a Lowe's nearby too but the help you can get here and merchandise stocked it excellent. Lot is generally full so you may have to park closer to Wadsworth and walk into the store. They have a few snacks at the checkout registers. Candy and drinks too. Otherwise things are just like any other hardware store. Contractors can order in bulk for discounts. Lot's of complaints about Home Depot The prices are outrageous and there's never staff around when I need them. I made an online tool purchase and I've been regretting it. I'm sure what I bought will be great when I get it in my hands but the wait is unreasonable. I made the purchase on the 20th of January on the pretense that it would arrive at the store within 2 days. Today is the 27th and I have no real idea where my tool is. Tracking is so awful and even when I call customer service they simply read to me what I already know. Apparently my package is over Kansas somewhere, an over shot from California to Denver..The website also says it will get to the store on or about the 31st, that's 12 days after I ordered it and then it'll be a few days before I get notified..I could send a package from Denver to London and it will get there in 12 days so what gives Home Depot, are you too big for your britches? read more

I purchased carpet here about two years ago. We had some water get into our basement and have to replace some of the carpet. In order for it to match I have to pay 150$ (15% of total cost) to replace with the same carpet. I'm in no hurry, but have to pay for express install in order for them to use that carpet as part of a policy. Considering carpeting the whole basement so I can go somewhere other than Home Depot out of principle. read more

Warning: Do not purchase appliances here We purchased a dishwasher for install. Installers arrived, removed dishwasher (leaving hot water line turned off and taking cap from disposal causing it to overflow water under the cabinet), they then opened the new washer on the truck and notice someone hit it a few times with a baseball bat or something and then TAPED it up...literally TAPED. They show my husband and go away...taking our old machine with them. Husband calls and finds out replacement will take over one month to arrive. Solution was awful and customer service was unpolished to say the least. The person my husband spoke to told him she had to live in an apartment and do her dishes by hand... not helpful after paying a grand for a dishwasher and our home being left in the state it was. Michael the middle manager intercepted my call to the store manager and assures me he would get this taken care of ... he hands this off to a Katie who sighs like a teenager when talking to me - completely unsympathetic ..."What do you want!?" is the basic feel of how that went. ... our hot water was off - so we have to boil water to hand wash our dishes - we are looking at this status for a month - the garbage disposal was spewing water all over the floor, clothes cannot be washed for a month too...and I am being treated like I am a nuissance. Fast forward one day and coincidentally my friend posts on facebook a similar issue she is experiencing with a home depot purchase (her dryer) holy cow! Is this how they function? Our dishwasher order was cancelled. Current status: Money has not yet been returned. I would recommend not purchasing appliances from Home Depot. Worst run Home Depot store I have ever been in. Unfortunately it is also the closest to out house so I have been there a lot. If you want a cart of any kind, you better find one in the parking lot because they never have anyone bring them in for their customers. Hell, even wal mart does that! Yet today I counted 32 carts inside, filled with stuff their employees had piled in them. These carts block the isles. One isle had 9 half full carts lined up on one side. You could not access anything on that side of the isle without moving the carts. I spoke to the manager. He said he had just walked the store and was happy with the state of the store. We bought a bathtub and the remodel took longer than expected. When it was time to install the tub we realized that is was the wrong handed. It was over a year old. We returned it to the store and the store manager went above and beyond. We got a store credit which was more than we paid (the price went up over the year). Couldn't be happier with the customer service we received. Even the customer service representative was helpful and did everything they could to try to return it before calling the store manager. read more

Pros: I mean, it's Home Depot. It's exactly the same as every other Home Depot in the entire world. They have a large selection of things and are rarely out of stock. Their app is extremely user friendly and makes their store easy to navigate. Dog friendly. If you do some research before you go, your trip with be easy and painless. Cons: They were out of ice melt. In February. How? Whoever orders for this store missed big. And their staff can point you in the correct direction but certainly isn't knowledgeable in the differences between products. I've never written a review for a major store like this but I needed everybody to know about their associate Alan. Alan approached my husband and I when we were looking for a grill. He was so sweet and knowledgeable that it really made the barbecue grill buying process very simple and easy. He even helped us out to the car!! I am sure this guy Allan doesn't even need to work but he seems to really love what he does. Clean, well-lit store. Came in looking for 3 duplex gang plate covers and a toggle switch cover. I was looking specifically for metal, but they have all of them mixed in with the plastic ones so it takes even longer to find. I think it'd be wise to have all of the metal plates in one section, even if they're next to the plastic ones rather than just located within a bunch of plastic ones. Oh well, I eventually found what I was looking for and ease of self checkout was nice. read more

Our fridge broke and yesterday we came to the Home Depot to see what was available ..since I've never bought a brand new fridge before - We had no idea what to expect and how much a new fridge would cost - Well they aren't cheap I'll tell you that!!! We were greeted and helped by an older gentleman named Art!! I was issued a store credit because I bought something with a gift card and needed to return it. I bought the original online, which is how I like to do things, but now with the store credit I have to go (with my mask) and shop in the store. Makes NO SENSE because I can buy a gift card for the SAME AMOUNT and use it online. Now I find a product on their website but it is online only. I went to the store assuming (ha ha ha) that they could order it for me and use the store credit. NOPE. This is ridiculous. I don't know why this place has such low reviews. I just came here to get items for refinishing a table and Phil walked me through the steps and items I would need in extreme detail. He was super knowledgeable about the products which was great because the extent of my knowledge was an online shopping list from HGTV. As I was walking to check out another woman saw me with overflowing arms and offered to grab me a cart. There was no line to check out either. We were building a new kitchen in a small house and he was responsive to our questions, made good suggestions for us to help our budget, and was just a pleasure to work with. I had the best paint experience at this Home Depot on Saturday 5/5 in the morning around 9:30am. I found a color online, but I couldn't find it in the store. Richard I believe his name was, actually found the code for the color and mixed me a tester size of the color and a swatch so I could see the color. Turns out I didn't like the color, so that was great to be able to see it before investing in a gallon. He also custom made me a color in between to color swatches. He was also very friendly and didn't mind taking the time to help me! So awesome. The two women working were not helpful at all. The one older dark haired lady was actually a little rude. One man asked if she could help find a sand color and she kind of laughed and said no, there are lots of different color sands. The man was clearly frustrated and had to figure it out himself. She was also complaining about other employees. Richard also was very good with dealing with his co-workers. read more
