This is my go to place for anything I need for home improvement. I choose this over the other major home improvement stores that starts with an L because it has more merchandise. I could also take my dogs with me who are definitely dressed for the occasion! Lol. Most of the time I can find Staff like the one in this picture who helped me carry my purchase to the car and load it for me ,to help me, Occasionally, and more frequently lately, it has been hard and it has been definitely a do it yourself and do it yourself to find stuff! I like to order online and have it shipped to the home if it's free shipping. My ladies experience, however, was most disappointing! As I ordered four large wooden moving dollies and had it shipped to my home. When I got the notification that it had arrived, I looked at the picture of the proof that it had arrived, and on my doorstep was four boxes of staples! I called up the customer service at the store that I thought it was purchased at explained the situation to them. Ultimately it got resolved, but it took a long time! As they were out of these wooden moving dollies it almost every store in Atlanta! The major reason I got chipped the rug merchandise is because Home Depot now uses Uber to deliver! Going to Home Depot is so overwhelming and finding workers that are willing to assist adds an additional layer of stress. I am currently in the process of moving and we needed items from Home Depot, and on both trips, employees send you on trips to where items "should be" located. Of both trips, there were only two employees that took time to ensure they were sending us to the right location. I wish I had their names! At one point, my mom and I had to ask a random customer to assist us. The items needed were both present and checkout was easy. After being a devoted customer for over 40 years, and never being late on a payment ever, On March 26 someone hacked into may bank account with Citi bank and stole $7702.89 dollars, I had already sent a check to Home Depot but the bank froze my Account no money out! And Home=Depot cancelled my Home-Depot Card, I tried to explain this to Home-Depot but they did not care, over the past 40 years I must have spent close to a million dollars in their stores remodeling homes. I went as far as sending a letter to the vice president of finance and a copy of the fraud papers from the bank, I never received a response from Home-Depot Corporate offices. So after going down to our local Store and talking to the manager to see if she could help me reinstate my HD card, she let me know this was out of her hands but offered for me to apply for a new card. This review should come as no surprise. Home Depot cares little if anything for its customers. The company is so big that individuals mean nothing. But to the review: Once again I made an online order for delivery and once again Home Depot has failed to deliver, I just receive Emails informing me that the order is delayed but not to worry because it will be delivered. This is not the first time this has happened and will not be the last. It's not the fault of the employee's, they are paid such paltry wages that going the extra mile for the customer just isn't worth it. I had to call 911 for Cobb PD to intervene during a Home Depot delivery of a washer and dryer set after the delivery crew refused to return my original units. The issue was that the new appliances were too large for the space, so I declined the delivery. However, the crew insisted on keeping my old washer and dryer. They claimed it was Home Depot's policy not to release a customer's old set once it's loaded onto the truck. When I stood in the doorway of the truck to prevent them from leaving, the driver--Calvin, a "Master Technician"--refused to call a supervisor. Instead, he told his co-worker, "Get in, close the door on him!" Just as the co-worker physically touched me to move me out of the way, the police arrived. While officers were on the scene, Home Depot customer service confirmed there was no such policy that allows them to withhold a customer's old units due to a refused delivery. The police had to supervise the return of my property because Calvin said, "We'll give him his stuff, but we're leaving it on the curb." Eventually, a Home Depot dispatch instructed Calvin to return my units--but not to reconnect them. Unbelievable. I couldn't make this up if I tried. read more

The first time I came I was immediately helped by an employee and he let me know what I needed & why I needed it with a very through breakdown. The last times I stopped by for plant supplies the garden section was very well stocked & had almost everything I was looking for with fair prices. I was on the hook to create a blackout environment for the nursery and needed to find a safe solution for windows treatment. So I rolled up my sleeves, got my measuring tape, and started looking around for a product. The cost for a new set of blinds can range from upwards of $1000 to $30. I decided to try a couple different solutions and found aisle 43 at the Home Depot. The roller shades I purchased did not fully solve the light issue. However, I discovered the vinyl and fabric shade rollers to be cost effective and reasonable in creating a near blackout environment for the nursery. Despite the sun optimal solution I returned the roller shades. A store associate named Mutki helped me pick out a different solution which was a cellulose no cord pull down set of blinds cut to custom measurements. The blinds were cut to the exact "1/4 inch. I can't tell you how amazed I was by the blackout created by the new custom blinds. They are safe for kids and perfect for a nursery. This item was originally $177 but was on sale. The product works and does not give off a chemical smell which was my biggest concern with pure 12 MIL vinyl. Thank you so much for the great service Mutki you made me look like a handyman hero! In March 2024, I decide to go with Home Depot's fence installation service, which ultimately resulted in a disappointing experience due to subpar work performed by their contractor, TopRail, along with insufficient oversight from Home Depot. Unfortunately, the installation featured multiple issues, including the use of damaged and non-premium pickets, leading to a series of visits from Home Depot to address these concerns. Throughout this process, I encountered challenges in obtaining my warranty information, as both TopRail and Home Depot provided inconsistent responses. On several occasions, the replacement work performed was inadequate, with pickets placed improperly. Additionally, I was alarmed to notice that a minor child was involved in the installation work. I escalated my concerns to Home Depot's executive complaint department, which eventually connected me with the necessary resources to obtain my warranty information. During the resolution process, I was asked to propose a fair compensation for the poor service received and the presence of a minor child on my project. After evaluating the time invested in addressing these issues and the implications for the integrity of my fence, I submitted a number per HD's request. I received a low settlement offer, coupled with a non-disclosure agreement that absolved Home Depot of any responsibility regarding my fence installation. I decline HD's low-ball offer and lies regarding the service I received. I used to love HD, but now I am going to look for every opportunity to take my business elsewhere and share my experience with anyone considering HD. read more

This, Home Depot needs to do a better job of communicating with the customers. Today I went into this store and paid on my business account. Afterwards, the store got some fertilizer, plants, soil, grass seeds and bursted bags if soil. I believe my bill would have come to about $300. Mind you, repeated customers are the most important part of their business! After I got to the checkout, I told her young lady which bags were bursted and which ones were not so she would know how to charge me! She said they no longer gave a discount for bursted bags when there is a non bursted bag available! I learned this after being in the store shopping for over two hours! I asked her when did the change occur but she did not know, so she asked for a manager. The manager only said that they no longer did it. So before I left the store, I apologized that I did not know about the policy change and someone would have to put all of the items back on the shelf. When I asked to the manager on duty, the same question, she rolled her eyes to the top of her head and said well along time ago. But I mind you that I was just there last week with my husband and we cleaned up the bursted bags without any problem. The point is, if you are black, and you dealing with Black people at Home Depot, they think they own the place. So if you are black and you want to be treated fairly at this Home Depot go and shop when there is a white manager and white people working. It makes a big difference. Now, I'm headed to Lowe's to spend my money. They are more consistent than Home Depot with policy.! read more

Do not shop at this location. I wasn't going to post this review because overall Home Depot is great, but after back and forward with them about broken tile, I decided to let the people know specifically about this location. I waited at curbside pickup for close to two hours. The whole purpose of curbside is for convenience and there's nothing convenient about them telling you, "We're trying to find your order," after waiting. This is the second time that I have waited over an hour for a curbside order at this location. Secondly, after waiting, a pallet was placed on the truck. After making it home, I found that boxes of tile were broken at the bottom of the pallet. Of those broken boxes, we recovered what we could recover. I called HD and was told either to request a job site pickup or to bring them in myself, but to provide as much of the product that we had since some of the boxes were dust. Because some of the tile was literally dust, I did just that. After receiving the tile, I was told that they couldn't refund me because allegedly I didn't provide all of the broken pieces. This location and the brand need to get on one accord because I was told several different things. Even the pickup person had a hard time picking up what we had because the tile was small fragments. I've spent way too much money at Home Depot for customer service to be THIS poor. Again, Home Depot in general is great, but this location has poor customer service, timeliness, communication and leadership. Save your time and visit another location and if you're in the Douglasville location, be sure to visit the Hiram location. read more

Terrible is being generous! This location needs some serious training in customer service. I arrived on a Monday evening with the main intent of having a key cut. They have a location that appears to be managed by a human to cut keys. When I walked up there was already a customee waiting. He told me that he had been waiting for about 20 min. I approached a staff member and asked for assistance at the key cutting counter. She advised she would page a staff member, but it may take a long time. She did suggest that I used the self serve key cutting machine thst was currently in use by another customer. I eventually ended up using the self serve kiosk since a staff member never arrived to the counter. Additionally I was searching for a contractor lock box. I had already priced them on amazon, but wanted to see if Home Depot was competitive. I asked a staff member where they were located, he gave me the inccorect aisle number. I eventually asked another staff who provided me with the correct location. Based on my observation, the staff are simply present to collect a pay checK. They appear aggregated when a customer asked them a question. I also noted that there were signs encouraging the use of the app to locate items. When I downloaded the app, it simply suggested I speak with a staff member to find the contractor lockbox. Please update the app with useful information if you are going to promote its use. What should have been a quick trip, turned into a 45-50 min stop. I wasted so much time searching for staff and the product I was interested in. Trust the yelp rating!! read more

My DIY patio redo plans just went up in smoke thanks to poor customer service by The Home Depo. Ordered my pavers and sand well in advance and selected a delivery date of Friday 05/26/2023. Received an email update showing the 1,000lb bag of sand listed as "curbside pickup?!!? And the email also noted the delivery date was changed to Saturday!!!! Called the customer service line to sort this and was told that they could not correct the mistake unless they cancelled the order and entered a new order. I asked about the delivery date and was told they would enter a mock order to check on delivery dates. Service rep said Friday 05/26/2023 was available so I said let's go with that and get both products on the delivery truck. She then canceled the original order and entered the new one and then it happened. Rep said well now it says delivery is going to be next Tuesday!!!! I asked her how can that be when there was a truck scheduled for Saturday with my pavers? She said well, you lost that window when I canceled the original order. There's nothing to be done. Climbed the phone ladder and spoke with a "supervisor " who was even more inept than the other rep. Now all of my labor has been cancelled and I'm in the doghouse with my wife. NEVER AGAIN Home Depot, NEVER AGAIN!!! Lowe's gets my business from now to eternity. read more

I just wasted an hour trying to rent a pickup truck to haul some stuff to the dump. Home Depot now requires the rental transaction to be conducted through Clear (yes Clear, the company competing with TSA PreCheck at the airport). Why? After standing in line at Home Depot, I had to try to complete the transaction on my phone. Despite everything that the Home Depot check out person and I tried, the Clear system did not work. The customer service staff inside the store are some of the most unprofessional people I have ever witnessed. They are not there to help or be helpful. The level of foolishness- from yelling at each other, laughing and "horsing around" while I stood there waiting to be helped was awful. The glazing is all over the window. Go ahead and order double hung flanges on your picture window - you still get the same frame for sliders so you have this channel that collects dirt. This is my go-to location and I've noticed less customer service since Covid-19. This seems to be the case at many places and I can understand why. We are in the middle of a Global Crisis. Employees are stressed and overworked. Stores are under pressure to make sales. Unfortunately, this store is chronically understaffed but now it's even harder to find someone to help. When I do, I'm often met with an attitude or total disinterest. This store falls short with inside customers. I cant imagine how this HD is attempting curbside pickup. Their Covid-19 response is disappointing. Home Depot gets PR mileage by advertising they are keeping staff and customers safe. In reality, they aren't meeting the mark. What part of Contagious Disease is confusing? Most employees wear masks but, unfortunately, not all. I was looking at seed packets and 2 employees were chatting about 4 feet away sitting on garden furniture. One employee wore her mask like a chin strap and the other didn't even have one on. I pointed to my mask and they said they couldn't wear them because they were talking. (Okay I'll let the virus know you're talking?) I wanted to see something closer to them so I politely asked if they would put their masks on, which they did. Why do I have to ask? They should have been wearing them, especially if they saw me nearby. They could have also stopped their chat and asked if I needed help. Increased demand and prolonged shipping times have made goods hard to find everywhere. Empty shelves are not HD's or their employees' fault but a poor shopping experience is. Awful service. The rental department moves at a glacial pace. There is zero sense of respect for customer time. Multiple visits and it has been the same thing. Store associates mostly lack knowledge to help find anything -- I've had better luck searching on Google first and then finding the item (faster than most store associates I've come across). I came back to return the carpet chart, but for some reason they did not have an accurate record that I actually borrowed it, even though I signed it out. They did not have me sign in its return, so I assume they can roll back the camera tape later on this day/date to see that I was here to return it, of ever there is a discrepancy. There were three people in the carpet area when I arrived. One associate was on the phone, one with a customer, and another who I presumably was involved with a customer request to some degree. All associates greeted me, and the one with the customer in front of her, told me that someone would assist me shortly. I appreciated this interaction because I did not feel ignored. As far as the customer service, it was delicately better than the last few visits. I was immediately greeted within 15 seconds of each of the three departments I visited, and I was offered assistance as well. This made me feel better about shopping here, so today, this HMD has earned another star. One thing I have to say is that love the selection in the garden area, so I just may give them another visit before the season is over to do some more exploring. I appreciate the leadership taking care of making sure we customers are valued. As a result, I will not write this store off. read more

Buyer Beware I shop at the corporate store regularly and not sure what is happening, but the corporate office needs to know a few things. Yesterday I thought I would try curbside pickup. I needed 10 bags of pond stone and some edging and I picked up 6 bags the night before on my own. I thought how nice it would be if I could get help loading it. I am 5'1 and 110lbs and I have had 6 hernia surgeries from lifting heavy stuff. Placed my order at 4:30 got an email at 4:45 saying we're on it. Well, time goes by no ETA when you log in, so I head to the store and arrive at 7:20 and go to the customer service counter. They say the order hasn't been pulled and they do not know where it is. I'm a bit irritated and I tell her that and say well can I get the order myself then as I want to get it unloaded before dark. I said is the gate open down there and she said it should be. More often at night they close it. I drive all the way down to the landscape center and I walk in and am met by a gentleman who tells me he is closing the gate and I will not be able to get out. I am mad now and tell him I have a curbside order that was not ready, and I am getting it myself and you will keep the gate open until I load the cart and take my stuff. He proceeds to tell me I can't do that even though I have already paid. Starts going over policy and then telling that curbside shuts down at 6PM and I said Well my order was in before 5PM and they should give you an ETA when you put the order in. At that point I want to talk to a manager. How could this gentleman have turned the situation around easily? He could have said Well, sorry that happened let me get someone to help you load the stuff. Instead, he wanted to argue while I got a cart and loaded 10 bags of rock onto it and 2 pieces of rubber edging. Then I go to my car and am loading it and they finally have someone come help when I only have 4 bags left. Manager finally shows up and then also explains the policy on curbside instead of saying sorry this happened. She says well what do you want for compensation...honestly, I am not looking for compensation. I am looking for the people at HQ to train their people on what good customer service looks like. I can not tell you the number of times I have been down to the trucks to pick up mulch, pine straw or whatever and no one is at the truck, and I must walk all the way back up to tell them no one is there. Home Depot Corporate a few process improvement tips. 1. When your automated emails go out after a curbside order is placed put an estimate of when the order will be ready. If it is not ready that day because it went out to late...put it in the email when the order might be ready. 2. Train your people on customer service and not to explain policy when you already have an upset customer. 3. Have more people to help load. I have had customers in the parking lot offer to help me more times than I have ever had a Home Depot associate ask me if I needed help loading something. read more

I refuse to purchase any type of appliance or do business with Home Depot Ever again! I bought the Samsung appliance bundle with them in 2018. I noticed in 2019 that the door shelves were cracking for no reason. I inquired about the price of each shelf, a whopping $100. a piece. I spent almost $3000. and now I'm suppose to shell out $600. plus to replace (6) shelves because your shelves are made of poor quality Plastic!!! Its now 2021, still no response from Home Depot or Samsung. All I hear now is, it's out of warranty contact the manufacturer. You guys never responded in the first place. If I could give zero stars for this HD location, I would. The customer experience and service is beyond terrible. We've been renovating our home for several months and every time we come to this location we have a worse experience than the time before. The customer service desk is non-attentive and several employees have terrible attitudes which makes me question their choice of profession. In addition to their lack of care, there are several employees that stand around and don't offer help or solutions when many customers need just that. When we asked Alexandria to help us by walking to the front and speaking with the customer service desk she found every excuse not to. She simply said "sorry" and continued to text on her phone. I do want to shout out Steven and Shauntel in Appliances and Paint for being the shining light in a dim environment and being exceptionally helpful with ordering, picking up items, and their overall knowledge. When Carolyn at the front desk refused to provide a solution for a challenge we experienced while ordering an item online (cushioned with a horrible attitude and rudeness) we asked Steven (who previously helped us order appliances the week prior) to assist and he went above and beyond to do so. So THANK YOU Steven and Shauntel for providing an excellent customer experience despite the overall poor nature of this location. With this location being so close to corporate, I expected a much better experience and it was actually the complete opposite. The irony. read more
