I come here ALL of the time for my own projects and our rental. Spending tens of thousands of dollars. Today the older lady in self checkout while I'm waiting for HELP, is ringing up 2 adult males order which contained 13 items. WHY??? There was nothing wrong with them and should ring up their own items like I did. She knew I needed help and proceeded to ignore me and keep ringing up their MANY items. Did she not trust them. Please retrain. Self checkout is just that. You don't scan people's things while others wait around for you. Ridiculous especially when on your lunch break!!! read more

I don't understand how this location has such low reviews. Since moving to the area this has been our go to location (despite another location being closer) Everyone is so incredibly nice and helpful. No one is rude, condescending, or creepy. This is coming from a 5'6 thin blonde girl. People who look like me often get treated with very little respect or kindness in hardware stores assuming we either have the dumb blonde thing happening or just have 0 capability or knowledge about what we are trying to accomplish. My husband and I have been renovating our home by ourselves for the past 3 years (a slow process with lots of learning curves) but I grew up doing projects with my parents. I often go in with questions but a general knowledge about the project at hand. I have had lots of unpleasant experiences throughout this process at hardware stores but never here. Everyone is just so nice and so helpful. If they don't know an answer they find someone that does or they pull out their phone and look it up and we figure it out. The people in the paint section are all particularly helpful. Andres especially has been so nice and goes above and better to help me figure out what I need and a plan before I leave. Truly appreciate the help. When we go to list our home and move into the next project I'll actually be sad to not have this location as help anymore. read more

Home Depot in austell store#1749 level of professionalism is unreal . Twice I have experienced a poor customer service. First experience after waiting for 15 minutes were there was no one in that department. Second time I was trying to schedule a delivery when someone picked up the phone started speaking like a child and said their mother was not home then the line went dead. I called back no one answered went to the store asked for refund th sales person put in the comments that customer walked in and asked for a refund as if I didn't asked to speak with the manager. Ashley the manager was on duty. This happened on October 5th . The order was Processed by AXD5IHR #1749, basically nothing was said to correct the issue. read more

HOME DEPOT AUSTELL and HD Customer is terrible PART 2!!! Review being continued because apparently I used all of my allotted space on Yelp from Part 1. 5/05 Happy Cinco DeMayo!!! Spent the day at home *AGAIN waiting for the promised pick up team to come and retrieve the broken refrigerator. Natallie (Natalia) the Asst Manager of Austell, GA Home Depot, failed to make that happen and failed to give me a call at any time. ALL DAY ZERO COMMUNICATION from HOME DEPOT. FYI Home Depot, I went to the Lowes about 1/2 mile away and purchased a refrigerator from them! 5/07 - Spent 45 minutes in the Austell, Ga location with the Asst. Mgr. Neptali and I want to say "Thank you" to him for the closure of this issue. I am getting a full refund in a check, so we will see how long that takes. As I said in the store, if the HD team who was responsible for the delivery and install showed the same professionalism and follow up that Neptali demonstrated, I would probably remain an HD customer. Unfortunately, this situation went south on so many levels, that I am never using HD again. Keep that in mind, that after 30 years, I am gone and now with Lowes! Just bought pine straw. It looked awful. They use the rolls instead bails. It's supposed to be the same as 2 Bails. Well not even close. The employee rolled them down the steps from the trailer while pine straw spilled out the sides. It did not look much different than the degraded pine straw that I just cleaned up from my back yard. Again I was desperate to cover an area that will not grow grass . I guess I need to make calls to other vendors for some good Pine straw. read more

This Home Depot is located in Austell at the corner of Floyd Road and East West Connector. It is your standard Home Depot location with all the same offerings as all the others around the city. One thing that is a little different is the service, which has been solid each visit. The staff are really good at checking on you while you are shopping, just to make sure you got what you need. Additionally, the cashiers are always helpful and efficient. My only issue relating to service was a return that I recently completed on a light fixture we purchased for our dining room. We had it about 10 days and then at time of installation, one of the sockets was not operational. So with receipt in hand we stopped by the return desk and was met with an attitude, and not one of helpfulness. We had packed the full light back up and she stated that she needed to take it all the way out to confirm, etc...however, you can't just plug it up. After a few moments of being super confused at her handling, a Supervisor stepped in and simply processed our refund. The interior of the store, as well as the parking lot are always clean and well maintained. Also, shelves stay stocked as well. Overall, we do prefer the other big box store, but there isn't anything about this particular location, outside of brand loyalty that would keep me away when in need. read more

I needed someone to cut a couple of pieces of lumber so it would fit in my car. After asking 3 times for halo and waiting 20 minutes, they looked at me as if they'd never seen another human! I told them I was leaving. Very disappointed in these losers. I went to the Thornton Rd. store and got what I needed. I would have gone to Lowe's or 84 Lumber but I had already bought a partial amount of items from another Home Depot and needed them all to match. Well I DID get charged and it cleared through my bank on an order I never received. I will NEVER EVER AGAIN set foot in a HD, the store on EW Connector is the worst!!! Every employee must hate their job, they are the most nasty, rude, unhappy people I have ever ran into. I purchased a tree trimmer that after 5 minutes of use just stopped working, I wanted to return it and just exchange for another but they did not have one. The associate put the money on a HD card so I could just get another item, but they were out, so I just asked for my money back, once they put on the gift card they can't give cash back, even if you paid by cash. The associate called the manager and I could hear him say "I don't want to talk anyone, just get rid of them". I ended up walking out with my CASH back and taking my business to Lowe's. read more

I went to the garden center to buy 5 bags of soil and requested for someone to help me load it onto my truck. The girl that checked me out asked for assistance on her walkie-talkie then walked away. No one ever came to assist me. Furthermore I went to the website and noticed that there was an item for sale that had a White Supremacy book on the shelf. I've came to the conclusion that this establishment is simply racist and unprofessional and that's probably why I couldn't get any assistance. When walking out after paying for my items, the door alarm went of. It does go off a lot so the employees mostly ignore it. I looked back to see if anyone wanted to see my receipt. I was just in time to hear one employee tell another to "TACKEL HIM". She was smiling as if she amused herself. I ask her if she said it and all she could say was she was sorry. I ask to speak to the manager. He was only a few steps away. He said he was sorry. I told HD corporate but they did not follow up. I will take my $2,000 a year business to Lowe's. It has been a while since I have had to give bad review but I think this place deserves it. By far the least professional Home Depot I have ever been to. The employees have no desire to show you where anything is, just point and tell you, assuming you can find an employee. This one employee could tell I was a little pissed and decided to walk back down to where he had told me to go because I was just standing there like an idiot. Every other Home Depot I have ever gone to, even ones in other stated the employees always know never to assume that the person there knows anything about hardware and other appliances, but evidently the employees here were not trained with that mindset. Anyways, what really ticked me off is not the employee that I had to help, he was autistic, it is that they had him running the workshop department, so, when I brought the boards I wanted cut and told him exactly how I wanted them cut he cut three of them short. Again, not annoyed at him because he is just doing his job, but I do not feel that the company should allow someone with a disability or a handicap, (your choice of words), of that nature to be in a department where they cut wood. It was irritating to me because the last boards that they had, once of them had cuts and tears on it, really not beneficial to the reason why I needed them, but I just decided to leave well enough alone and helped him mark them the second time prior to him cutting it. Another employee when I asked him where something was just decided to stand there on his phone texting and pointed/grunted to where it was, and told me the wrong place, and then when I asked him for additional assistance he called over the aisle, loudly, to somebody else that worked there for them to direct me to what I needed. And did anybody ask me when I checked out if I found anything? I'm done with this place. Sadly you have to stick to the locations that you know for stores like this. read more

I placed an online order for a refrigerator and my credit card was charged almost $2200. I ended up not getting the refrigerator for almost two months due to delays so basically HD got a 60 day interest free loan. I understand there are a lot of delays right now but several companies will NOT charge until the product is available for shipment. When the fridge was finally delivered, it turned into a debacle. Delivery company workers were completely unprofessional and incompetent. They argued for about 15 minutes and then one of them said the item couldn't fit in my house because the handles stuck out too far and couldn't be removed. This was completely untrue because a friend removed them in 5 minutes. They told me a technician would have to come out and take care of getting the fridge in the house and that a work order was submitted. I never heard back from anyone about this "work order." They left the fridge in my garage and thankfully two friends got it in my house in about 10 minutes. I know this was a subcontract company, but the fact that HD would use them is astounding because they have terrible reviews. I also spoke to three people at the Austell store over the two months that it took me to get my merchandise, and only one really seemed interested in helping me. She's the only reason for one star versus none. read more

Had an appointment for a kitchen remodel with a specialist for the day after Christmas. We made the with specialist named Estella two days prior with another specialist named Serena. Turns out Serena didn't show and actually called in sick. There is no backup plan or anyone overseeing these appointments. The other employees have no idea what appointments are scheduled or with who. It's very frustrating. Jay helped us out by finding out that Serena had called out and tried to reschedule us for a day next week but my family would only be in town for the next two days and we were unable to make that work. He was able to call The Hiram store and made an appointment for us later in the day. Big thanks to Jay trying to diffuse the situation and trying to find a solution. If you do make an appointment with any specialist here it would be worth it to call ahead the day of and confirm the appointment. read more

I was in to purchase my usual framing nails at The Home Depot in Austell store#1749 manager Robert and couldn't find the box I usually purchase. After looking under the bay I found a box torn open with about 5 out of 6 rows only remaining. I took the box to the counter and the 1st manager realized that not only was the box not in inventory but there were about 300 nails missing from the box. So she tries to ring up the box at a discount but needed another manager to sign off. So, she brings the box to Robert (manager 2) who disagrees that the torn box with missing nails deserves the discount she rang up at the register. After telling him that I was a Pro customer buying more nails and that were at 300 nails missing her replies, "How do you know, did you count them...". Then, send another employee to take the poor box back to the shelves and help me to find the size and quantity I needed, which they didn't have. Amazing how this manager Robert was willing to throw the box away than give me a discount. I guess he was upset that I told him he couldn't put that dissolved box back on shelf and sell full price with missing nails. read more

The store is great. I am a Home Depot fan. The store is clean neat easy to find what you are looking for. I was disappointed in the customer service end. I needed some boards cut. No one was around so I went up front and asked for some help at the wood cutting area. I got a blank stair like I was crazy. So I said I would be back there and wait. 15 minutes go by. An employee walks by helping a gentleman. I asked when you are done with him I need some help. He finished with that guy and walked the other way. Finally 10 minutes go by and 3 people ask if they could help me. I told them what I needed and they just kept moving on. The 4 employee asks and finally helps me out. I hope this was just a 1 time bad experience. I should have been in and out in 20 min but took an hour. And the place was not super busy. read more

I just had to share this story because experiences like this unfortunately are far and few between. I am a visual arts teacher in K-5 elementary school here in Georgia. I get ALL of the students! My yearly budget, believe of or not is roughly $1.00 per student! So, I must be very resourceful. Our curriculum requires the students have "visual verbal journals". Along with doing art projects they read, write, brainstorm ideas, sketch designs and record and define vocabulary. It has been difficult to provide this for the students, Art generally is low on the priority list. This day, I happened upon a great deal, composition notebooks for 10 cents! I purchased all they had, 280 of them. So, in order to double my money, I heard Office Depot could cut them in half! Genius! I called them but they wanted to charge me .79 cents per book! I respectfully protested after a short, "but I'm a teacher, can you give me a break" plea! But they respectfully declined. Not defeated yet, I hopped over to Austell Home Depot and pleaded my story to associate Guy Paul. He told me that Home Depot machines only cut wood (I rationalized that paper is a by-product so....) He gave me a side eye look and said, "We can only try it and see." Well, it worked and guess what? The reason I am blasting this accolade on Yelp! Guy Paul, Home Depot Hero, in between helping other customers and other associates, spent the next three hours cutting 280 composition books in half for my students!! I couldn't believe my luck! This was a huge task but he remained agreeable and pleasant throughout and I am so very thankful that this gentleman took the time to help me out. Most people don't realize how important Art Education is for young minds. It's not just about coloring and painting pretty pictures. Art intersects and supports every academic subject, reinforces and promotes creativity, higher order thinking and all the rest of 21st century skills we are expected to provide for students. I want to thank you Guy Paul! Your gesture counts! You are our Hero for supporting the Arts, supporting our Students and behalf of teachers everywhere thank you! Our jobs can sometimes seem insurmountable but with supportive individuals like Mr. Paul and institutions like Home Depot our loads are lighter. read more

I don't know what is up with Home Depot. The service is absolutely terrible here. There is a Lowes less than a block away that has outstanding service. Over a holiday sale weekend I decided to pull the trigger and buy an expensive riding mower. I looked at both Lowes and Home Depot. I went with a mower from Home Depot that appeared to be of a more commercial level. The one that was on the floor was sold already, but they said they had another in the bin and that they would pull it and have it assembled in three days. Three days later I stopped by to pick it up and they at first couldn't find it. Then they found it still it the rack. The mower I purchased was a Zero turn mower, the manager said that they had other 42inch mowers and that I should take the lawn tractor (a mower that has $1000 less value and cost than the Zero turn mower) I don't know if the manager is an idiot or if he was trying to rip me off. I said no and to call me when the mower I bought was assembled. The next morning I called again. The mower has still not been pulled down from the rack. The holiday sale is now over at the other stores and I have now lost at least $600. Stay away from Home Depot. This place has fake / fraudulent sales. read more
