All you last-minute needy people skip the big-box and head for Bates. Avoid those long parking lot…read morehikes and 20-min checkout line waits, and only spend the medium bucks here at Ace. While most other stores have been pillaged this time of year by the incoming GT student throng, you'll be able to find exotic necessary items like shower curtain rings and plungers on the cheap. Save some time as well without having to drive OTP for a non-empty shelf. The only delay for us was picking from the mildly vast choices for each item. Should it be the plastic rings in one of three colors, or metal? Which of the five plunger types? We could stay for hours, but let's not get carried away. Near the register we noticed the array of fun non-hardware type items for sale. We'll have to hit that section up next time when not running to setup a college student's bathroom on the fly. Friendly speedy checkout experience--nearly surpass the Big Green Egg aroma outside the front door, almost. We'll drop these items off with the college peeps and head back to the burbs until next round.

When I painted the color match that was right off of the previous gallon, it was a darker color. I went ahead and repainted the entire shop with that paint just to save time and headaches. When I went to touch up the paint in spots, it dried out a different color as well. I now have to paint my shop for a third time. Generally, I've found the folks at Ace to be more accessible, knowledgeable, and helpful than those at the bigger stores. Shep's Midtown Ace is no exception. Shep's Midtown Ace opened in January 2015. I watched from across the street, from inside my dentist's office, as this place came together. It's certainly one of the nicest-looking Ace stores I've seen to date, especially in terms of its facade. Like other urban and in-town Ace stores, they efficiently pack a lot of useful inventory into the store. This one has two levels. The store is located at the corner of Juniper and 7th. Free parking is located inside the deck next door. Enter via Juniper. You don't need to enter any of the gated areas inside the deck. There are street-level spots reserved for Ace customers that will be on your right just after entering the deck. You don't need to grab a parking ticket or anything. I came here needing a tool to replace a recessed light bulb in a high/vaulted ceiling (about 14 feet high). Shortly after I entered the store, an employee greeted me and asked me if I needed help finding anything. I told him what I needed and he told me exactly where I could find it in the lighting section upstairs. The bulb changing kit has a telescoping pole that extends to 11 feet and three attachments: one for recessed and track lighting (a suction), one for standard incandescent bulbs, and one for floodlights. It cost $27.21 after tax which I thought was a little pricey, but not excessive (otherwise, I wouldn't have bought it). I was satisfied with my experience and will definitely return. I like this and the other Ace Hardware near me (Bates Ace Hardware on Howell Mill) about the same. They're both good.

There was nothing wrong with them and should ring up their own items like I did. She knew I needed help and proceeded to ignore me and keep ringing up their MANY items. Did she not trust them. Please retrain. Self checkout is just that. You don't scan people's things while others wait around for you. Ridiculous especially when on your lunch break!!!
