Today was very disappointing! I own a fencing company here in Austin. We like Home Depot because typically there is excellent service. We use to have our products delivered directly until one day we had an order pull in 12 hours late. The owner of the residence was upset and only half of the order was on the truck. (Typically we would have to return/exchange out 10%) So now I go to the location and hand pick the product. LEADING TO TODAY... As we are picking out 15 4x4 posts we realize that they have already been picked through and we were only able to find 7 up to standards. There was an entire new bundle right behind the small stack of cracked, notched, crooked 4x4s left over. So we asked to get into those. Which we were told a supervisor would need to have the bad ones removed. So I leave to grab a few other things while my partner waits. When I return I see the manager standing over the bad pieces looking through them and he asks me what's wrong with them. So I point out all the cracks and notches etc. and he basically tells me that's what we can choose from. So I stand there with him for 10 mins explaining why each piece is not suitable and he argues about each one. He says he isn't moving them and that we can pick from those and return them. The associate stood there with us looking over them individually and deciding which ones are GOOD ENOUGH... We will not be back to this store and possibly will look for a better choice in company. read more

I popped in to Home Depot early Saturday morning looking for a replacement screw for some furniture I was putting together. As soon as I walked in I approached an employee who then pointed to the screw aisle. I spent about 10 minutes walking up and down in confusion before I left to look for someone to help me out. I approached another employee asking for assistance and they pointed me to the aisle I was just on. The employee seemed irritated when I asked if he could walk over with me to locate what I needed. He was dismissive of me and rude when I asked questions. I guess Home Depot is geared more towards contractors. Both employees made my morning very unpleasant. Lowe's will be my first trip from now on. read more

Amazing.. I just recently started a food trailer and simply put I could not have done it without this home depot as well as their awesome staff. Curtis helped me build some custom screens and taught me how to do it myself in case he wasn't around. We spent a couple hours working some stuff for screening all around my trailer including some wheels so I could move it in the serving window. Alex helped me design and build a custom counter and was beyond anything I could have asked for giving advice on supports. Lastly josh helped me with some sheetmetal to top off the counter. Having never worked with it before and no clue what to do he basically held my hand through it. Also went above and beyond to help me with some electrical stuff taking me to some guys that might have some expertise that he did not. But in the end we found what we needed. Do not buy an appliance here! Home Depot sold our information to a company called Sweetwater. That company called our home number two or three times a day every day until we finally just gave up and disconnected our landline. If we had known about this in advance, we would have purchased from a more ethical company. read more

These guys are horrible. The manager is a douche and is only marginally concerned with the theft of his employees or the incompetence of his people. There is ONE guy in the plumbing dept that is not an idiot, but I bet he will quit soon. If you get him, you will know, he is super good, but like I said. His manager will probably fire him as a threat. Ive been going here for 2 year because it's closer than anything else, but I'd just as well take a stab in the eye with a sharp stick. read more

Have visited here a few times for odds and ends. Always is the usual experience. Have to ask for help finding things. Do appreciate the self checkout. It's nearby so I'll be back again, prices are on par with other similar stores. read more

This review is of the single location, they have the smaller every day items and a few good deals here and there. The slew of "workers" at the entrance and in the parking lot are annoying, I do not need any illegal help! And the staff seems to be a bit angry, but overall its a quick stop for a few lightbulbs, or new water hose. read more

This is my HD (ie it's closest to my house) and I've been going here for years. In fact a significant portion of my cash-flow moves though Depot in terms of the projects I create for myself and those I do for others. So when I was in last Saturday, i was very surprised when I met Phylis. I was trying to find a few things, rent some tools and having some trouble finding what I needed. Phylis found me and apologized for the inefficiency and then randomly took $10 off my bill for my trouble. I was shocked. I've never had good customer service at HD much less GREAT Customer Service. read more

I wasted over an hour in this store today and left without making my $1,112.57 purchase because of the incompetence of a cashier and the indifference of a manager. Basically my business check was "declined" by Telecheck and nobody knew why. This is a business account I've used for over 25 year which has ample funds, a printed check with my company name from a local bank. Finally, tired of waiting around like some sort of deadbeat, and the manager who was there at first but now MIA, I said "forget it" and left. I called Telecheck myself, which itself took forever to get through its touchtone maze, but did eventually reached a rep who explained that Telecheck is a "Check Guaranty" company, and since a check on my particular account had never been run through that specific store, I wasn't in the "approved" database for that store and they thus could not "guaranty" my check. After collecting my info and getting me "set up" in the telecheck account, she said I could go back and the check would be honored. No thanks. I've wasted enough time and the store no longer deserves my business. A better way to handle this would have been: 1) Better training. Every cashier and manager should know what I just explained above. If you want to use Telecheck, understand how it works and have the conversation up front when a contractor wants to pay with a business check. 2) Have a direct line to Telecheck so your "know nothing" cashier isn't standing around on the phone trying to work through the same voicemail hell that I eventually had to navigate. You should have a direct dial number to a real person who can solve the issue. I ended up going to Lowes, purchasing the appliances I needed, and paying with a business check from the same account with no trouble at all. Home Depot has gone way downhill in recent years and this is the last straw for me. I gave 2-stars because the appliance guy was actually good in the back end where I made the initial selection. read more

Don't ever go to this Home Depot, the level of incompetence and mistakes they make are on a whole new level. Went to this store to buy a few things for a work thing. One of those things was a propane heater, couldn't fit in my car so I had them deliver to me on Friday, Friday comes around and I go to track the order and find out that they canceled it with out ever notifying me.I call customer service and the lady was incredibly rude, wouldn't give me an explanation to why it was canceled and said "you got your money back so I don't know why you're complaining and calling me". So I called the store where I made the order and they said it was because the person who I talked to about getting it delivered sent the order to another store across town even though I'm walking distance from the store I made the order in, and the other store doesn't sell what I ordered so that's why They canceled. Had to drive across town to find the heater which I finally did, got home then went to this store to get a propane tank. The first one they sell me is empty, found out once it get home, go to return it and the one I get in exchange i can't open the valve because it's rusted shut. I'm done with Home Depot after today, can't get there stuff together to save themselves read more

This is for one particular older gentleman, who's name Im blanking on. [yes, Im worthless like that] He works most days in the plumbing department for the most part. I always like going into this home depot particularly because of this guy. He's helped me from replumbing the condensate pipes for my air conditioning unit to helping out with questions on the a/c air handler. He saved me quite a bit of time with his advice on 4" PVC routing of a french drain system I was putting in my home. Overall, I can attribute hundreds of dollars worth of professional advice he has given me over the past couple of months on a myriad of different projects. Because of that, I do just about all of my electrical and plumbing shopping at this particular lowes. Next time I see him, Ill make sure to grab his name so I can put it up on here. Props to having people running around your store who arent completely worthless like some of the HDs Ive been inside! :) read more

Customer service has been hit or miss. Back when I built my house in 2007 I came here a lot since it is right across the highway and bought everything I needed to fix it up including washer, dryer and fridge. They seem to have everything in stock that I need. Since that time I have used this HD to buy bulbs, a/c filters, baseboards, and ceiling fans. I wouldn't trust the customer service all the time. When I bought my ladder rack one of the guys told me it would hold my ladder without needing to tie the ladder down. Maybe he was kidding and I just didn't catch on to the joke but sometimes I question if these people really know what they are talking about. Note on appliance delivery: if your appliance requires any sort of difficulty (example: my fridge had to go from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor) they won't do it for liability purposes. Have some brawny men (or women) ready as back up. read more

The online inventory lists for this Home Depot apparently are worthless. I visited two other Home Depots and this one supposedly had three of the vanities I was looking for. After talking to a manager, who was unsuccessful in helping me, she gave me over to a clerk who also was unable to find any of the vanities. Instead she only offered a lame excuse of "I think we sold two last week". I was not very happy about driving around town and still ending up empty-handed. read more

My wife & I made a pretty really long honey-do list for me. Yay! We came to Home Depot to find wood for a shelf, a dowel, bicycle hooks, some mis-tint/ oops paint, big 'ol nails, duct tape, & so many other things. It could have taken all day. Fortunately, we found Andrew. He took us on a little shopping spree and helped us find everything we needed. He also cut all the wood for our shelf and helped us pick out the perfect dowel. Searching for all these things could have been a long, tedious nightmare. Fortunately, Andrew turned it into a relaxed, fun, expedient mission my wife & I both enjoyed. MAke sure to go to this Home Depot and ask for Andrew. Also, Andrew better get a raise- or else! read more

Bought two different toilet seats here to discover they were BOTH broken. It was pretty frustrating getting the items home and having to drive all the way back to the store. Spent all day driving. Had an employee take the seat out of the box to tell me it was all intact, it wasn't. This Home Depot location carries broken inventory. Disappointing. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting your Garden Department this weekend to buy a shed and some gravel. Four young associates completed the seemingly impossible task of securing a 7x7 storage shed on top of my small SUV. I didn't catch all of their names (one was LaVase?) but the one with the curly hair and glasses helped me load the gravel in my trunk and then gathered enough helpers so that we could safely secure the shed to the roof. Their enthusiasm motivated me on another long, Home Depot weekend. Thanks guys! read more

Don't order anything online from Home Depot unless you don't care if it takes an extra month to get to your home. They were real good about getting small building products here, but when it comes to a 40 lb mini window air conditioner, it just seems to throw them off . If you can get them to answer after 45 minutes on hold, they will place the blame on their freight handling contractor. Finger pointing is what they specialize in. Oh BTW, they will send you an email stating your order has been delayed with no explanation, because they don't know how to handle the covid 19 crisis. I hope someone from Home Depot sees this posting and make every attempt to prove me wrong by having my air conditioner delivered by next Tuesday May 26. But i doubt they even read these post because they don't want to answer them. read more

Awful carpet installation experience. The installers broke a piece of furniture, didn't tell us, and in repairing it did more damage than if they had left the piece broken. There are seams showing everywhere (and coming apart after two weeks), the padding sticks and crackles, and the customer service reps could not care less. Please go somewhere else for your flooring. read more

First , unless you know where this store is, you get to drive around in circles due to no sign by the road or highway. This sucks, and needs to be fixed. Second when you do find it, hope you find someone that knows what they are talking about. Went on a simple mission - double sided tape, and they had only one size/type but took us an hour to find it. Will have to go look at the other places like Lowe's or online. Third, I don't like all the day labors in the driveway thingy, how tacky. On the other side ,the bathroom was clean and didn't smell horrible as most public restrooms do in Austin ( added 1 star). The staff was very friendly , just not as knowledgeable as I would have hoped they would be, considering where they are working ! read more

This has got to to be the worst Home Depot in Austin! Every single time I go, it's bad experience. I went today expecting to make a quick trip for small things. As I go to check out, I see a HUGE line. Firstly, there are no human cashiers. Only the automated which I generally don't mind. But then, I see that only one out of 8 is accepting cash! Half the people are waiting for it. After watching several people behind me checkout, a rude employee tells me to go the machine on the other side. As I go to pay, I see it's only for card payment also. I tell the employee, and she rudely clears my transaction, and tells me to get back in line. Same thing happens with the next customer, but unbelievably, they let him pay cash at that machine!! I had to wait another several minutes until they were actually able to open a human operated register that accepts cast. Next time, I'll be going the extra distance to avoid another irritating visit to this store. read more

This is the closest Depot to my house. I've been multiple times and I've never had a negative experience. From those times, I'd say the place deserves only 3 stars. This time I came in and David from electrical was more helpful than I could have asked for. Great advice without the BS and fluff. No sales pitch, just helpful advice for someone trying to take care of their home. I often run into home depots where a lot of employees don't know what they are talking about. It's good to see someone with knowledge working in the aisles. Thanks for the help again. read more

After a AWFUL delivery experience I went up to store #6542. The staff there was wonderful and helpful until it came to the store manager Toma. First he would not talk directly to me but thru the employee ( I was 3 ft from him) for 15 minutes he just stood there ignoring all customers just standing there looking off into space. Ended up returning the product. I will make sure never to visit any Home Depot he is associated with. read more

This place is a bit smaller than the one at the Mueller complex. The many times I've been to Home Depot, they have been pretty helpful. When there's an item this store don't carry, they will call other stores to see if they carry it. But most of the time, they are pretty well stocked. I've also come to this store to buy paint for the interior of my home. The people who run the paint counter have given good advice for novices. I must say I did a good job at painting my place. read more

I had no problem locating the plumbing part needed to fix a toilet. Price was little bit higher than Amazon, but the leaking toilet couldn't wait for the two days shipping by Amazon. We bought the FlexWash washer and Dryer. The biggest expensive mistake ever bought from HomeDepot. This washing machine was very expensive and is absolute TRASH. Maintenance on this thing is ridiculous. It flooded our garage. Called a plumber and it was not our plumbing. Solely Samsung FlexWasher. After one week of not having a washing machine and a bill paid of 159. To the plumber....Samsung had a tech come out. Told us Tuesday then changed it to Friday. Samsung refused to give me a time ETA. Said the tech would call me in the morning. Never mind I have a 12 year old son who has to be picked up from school and that we had a meeting in Rockport the next day at 8:am. We are in Austin. The guy shows up late. Tells me there are 3 things wrong and that I had to pick up a hose myself. The other was a part he had to order. And that my filter piece wasn't put in right. My floors where wet . I asked if it was safe to use. He said yes only the bottom front loader. Already late. My husband and I drive to Rockport. Sunday evening we arrive back in Austin to find a flood that I have never seen in our garage. 2 hours shop vacuuming the water up. Carefully unplugging all of our appliances that had water underneath them. Another hour online with SAMSUNG. Ending with someone from our pro care will be contacting me In 24 hours. I want this Samsung Trash off my property. I have no idea of the amount of damage done to our newly installed cabinets and walls. Do not buy this Flexwash Trash Trash Trash. read more

If zero stars were possible I would use that for the Woodward Home Depot. Despite the valiant efforts of some of the helpful and friendly staff, I have to take my business elsewhere. This store is so chronically out of stock of key, basic items that i invariably have to go elsewhere to complete simple projects. The manager should be fired. Just left this location & was so impressed that the first thing I did was get on Yelp. Every employee I passed by gave be a genuine "Good morning" & asked if they could help me in any way. At the self-checkout, the associate came over with a scan gun to finish up for me & even apologized for not making it over sooner. Despite being a construction store & all the dirty boots walking around, they somehow manage to keep the place clean & organized. Will never be going back to Lowes again! read more
