I mean, I have never been more depressed by a conversation that lasted less that 1 minute. After explaining that I needed help with window blinds, she transferred me to Larry in Flooring... Thanks Rebecca for the explanation on why you were transferring me to flooring for some window blinds. Not... :-/ Myself having a background in retail service; I know how customers can get. But I'm not "that customer" so check the 'tude girl. Having said that, Larry was a trooper! He helped me out with the blinds as best he could. I'm not going to waste the drive in to this place though. I had a way better experience by phone with Lowes. I know I can expect to find someone there who knows how to help me with the products that are on the shelf. read more

Terrible service. They contracted a subpar moving service to deliver our washing machine. Then they said it couldn't be installed since I didn't by a new pedestal. Once it was delivered they said it couldn't be installed unless I "said" it was damaged so they could return it and come back with a pedestal and washer in one trip. The customer service was horrendous. I will never purchase anything from them again. Their phone tree is terrible as well-- they refuse to let us speak to a human. Please don't give them your business--they truly cannot handle it. read more

I bought Laminate floating floor for my living room and hallway. I went to Home Depot so they could guide me in what type of flooring would work in my house. They suggested a floating floor and they came out to install the floor. When spring came around and we turned off the heater, we opened our windows and put our attic house fan on to draw in air. We do not turn on our A/C until the weather here gets hot and in the 90\'s. That was in April. About a week later I noticed that many of the wall and doorway floor trims were coming loose. Then by May the floors started to buckle. When I called the store they sent out a gentleman to inspect the work. He told me that Home Depot would send out an installation team to pull trim off and make sure that it was installed correctly. He said that Home Depot stands behind their products and their work; and not to worry that they would make this right A week later I called the store to find out when they were coming out to inspect the installation. I was told that it was our fault for not turning on our A/C and keeping the floor in a \'controlled environment\'. They refused to send anyone out to check the installation . At NO TIME was I told that you could NOT open windows, OR that it needed to have a controlled environment. It was NOT in any of the paperwork. If I had known that I would have installed a floor that I COULD open windows. I have complained to a Corporate Rep who took his time in getting back with me. Again I was told it was our fault and it was COMMON SENSE to keep the floor in a controlled environment. I complained further going past the last gentleman and going to his supervisor. I told him that I would like the balance of the charges on my card ($1500.00) waived so that I could afford to purchase a different floor that WOULD be compatible with our environment After ANOTHER week and 1/2 they called today and said that they would give us 10% off a new floor. I could get a better deal if I waited for it to go on sale! I am at the end of my rope. My Husband is disabled and I am going to retire in 3 years. We waited 30 years to replace our old linoleum floor. I cannot vacuum the floor it is so bad. Planking is coming dislodged and we are going to have to rip it up before someone trips over it and falls. AS OF TODAY HOME DEPOT STILL REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING. THEY TOLD US IT IS THE CONSUMER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO FIND OUT THE CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF THE FLOOR YOU BUY. ?????? read more

So -- the sales person at the store was AWESOME -- just fabulous when we bought our replacement washer. Gave us the right information and even a few warnings about what to expect with front loader issues. All good in the store. The contractor they hired to deliver the washer? Oh my, circus time. The scheduled-window was wide -- between noon and four -- and not only did they miss it, but they didn't call to say they'd be late. I had to call Home Depot, and all they could say was that I was still on the list. Um, OK. Did you know about these things called cell phones, which allow for information to be conveyed on the go? Anyway: Delivery folks DID eventually call to tell me they were on their way a half hour after they were supposed to arrive...then sent one poor young man (YOUNG) with a hand truck and my washer. Seems like the supervisor didn't want to get out of the truck in the heat. Young-man didn't think to take the old washer out first -- so then had problems getting the old one out because the space was so tight. Handtruck got caught on my doorjamb -- I'm standing there saying, "it's the door jamb!" And he's just whacking away at it before catching on to the problem. Yes, it was damaged. No, I still just signed the document to get them on their way. Not a big deal BUT -- heavens to Betsy, not professional at all. read more

I was at this Home Depot over 45 minutes looking for a particular tool cutter to cut plastic paneling was told to go look on the shelf by the plastic paneling, couldn't find it so I asked another employee he didn't know what I was talking about . Talked to yet another employee said he can look it up , he said you can snap it in half you didn't need a tool, well needless to say after driving 5 miles home, all three were wrong. Warning - though the products and employees are great DO NOT use their Credit Card - this Citibank Credit Scams you so they can charge you huge fees! If you have this card cancel it immediately. We paid off the card and then my wife bought $100 in goods. Citibank did not bill me for several months and when they did they sent the bill 5 days after closing. I contacted customer service and they talked me out of canceling the card and waived the $70 fees to date. I was told if I paid a certain amount I would have no balance on the account and no more fees. Sounds good huh? But 1 month later I got a bill for $37 in fees for my "zero balance" account! I called customer service and spoke to 2 rude people, both of whom said I was paying this regardless of what I had been promised! Why were there charges I asked? It was because I had paid late last month - on the bill they sent me 5 days after closing!! I closed the account (or so customer service said) and paid the thieves their $37. I also discussed this with the service desk person who first tried to get them to reverse the charge and then helped me with the customer care #. She even gave me a $25 gift card to partially offset my loss. So the employees and the products are great. All they need to do now is to fire those damn sharks at Citibank. read more

Two day return policy on appliances, that says it all. I purchased a rather pricey ($2500.00) range at this store, that was delivered two days after the purchase date. Within five days I found that the price had dropped by $600 ($1950.00) at a local competitor. Since it had been less than a week I was hoping to get the difference back on at least a gift card, or if it came down to it, at least return the item and price matching it. I called to talk to a manger, and the associate who came on the line lied stating he was the manager , I later discovered he was just an employee. After actually getting the manager I was told that they would absolutely not make any accommodations for the situation, I asked how I could start the return process, in order to purchase it at the store with the cheaper price. I was told it was too late, the return time limit is 48 hours on major appliances. I was even willing to pay the restocking fee considering the price difference would be enough to justify it. At this point Home Depot is not cooperating at all, which is disappointing considering that my home is in the middle of renovation, and the amount of money spent at the store to date is upwards of $15,000.00 not including the stove. Please consider this if you plan to buy any appliances from them in the future. EDIT: I was subsequently contacted by the store a few days after writing this review (December 2011), and told that they would be willing to return the difference in price. read more

Had 3 air conditioners "tuned" by ACRS, Home Depot's air conditioning people. The missed the basics. They didn't check the drain on at least one air conditioner, Nor did they check the overflow (pan) drain, nor did they check the pan switch to prevent overflow. All of this 3 months ago. The result: water overflow and collasped ceiling. What did they say when I called? "We never make mistakes." What are the odds of 3 seperate systems all failing at once within 3 months of their tune-up? About zip. The don't do what's promised, nor do they stand behind the work they are supposed to do. I ordered a window and paid for it July 20, 2019. I was told the window would be installed in 4 weeks. The install was set for August 15th. The installer showed up to install the window but couldn't install because he didn't have the casing or frame. The installer said a template needed to be made. I reminded them The installation manager Peter Plantico had made a template. The coordinator called me to say Peter had found the template. Another install was scheduled for August 30. The installer called me to saying he couldn't install since the materials still weren't available. Peter called me on the 30th and said he needed to come make another template. The contractor who is doing my master bathroom remodel met him there a couple days later so another template could be made. I have tried calling several times but I haven't received a return call or update. Yesterday the project coordinator said the window was reordered on 9/20/19. So two months after I ordered the window and I have no install date. No sense of urgency. This is the most horrible customer experience I've ever experienced. It's unbelievable to me it took 3 weeks for the window to be reordered. My master bathroom is at a stand still because the window needs to be installed before the tub. The tub is sitting in my bedroom. I called the installation manager and he doesn't return the call. You call customer service they say they will escalate to the install manager the one who doesn't return calls so no help from Home Depot. I am so damn mad right now. I usually don't resort to using social media to vent, but what I just experienced at Slaughter location Home Depot right now is deserving of a media blast. I am a working black professional and went to Home Depot to pay for carpet and tile installation, after finally getting a correct quote from Home Depot Estimate Services. I called home depot earlier today to see if I could use a cashiers check to pay for my items and installation because I have the cash and did not want to pay with a credit card. Upon presenting the cashier check to the cashier I was informed that Home Depot does not accept cashiers checks and if I want to pay for their services I have to use a credit card and bring in cash. What damn kind of sense does this make- why in the hell would I use a credit card and pay interest or bring in $4300.00 in cash when the cashier checks functions as cash. I am convinced this lady did not want my cashiers check because I am black and she assumed it was stolen. My question to Home Depot is- do you inconvenience your white customers by declining cashiers checks and requesting payment in the form of cash or credit card? I am giving the store a one star, but it is not even deserving of it. In addition I will be filing a formal discrimination complaint with the corporate headquarters demanding that the general manager be fired. If he/she is not fired, I will file a discrimination lawsuit against Home Depot. read more

I'm not often impressed by customer service, especially at large chain/retail places, but I must tip my hat to this store. Holy smokes do they have some rockin customer service. Everyone at this place is super friendly, and always offering you assistance. Let me tell you, I certainly put a few of them through the grind. I decided to stop in one random Saturday to browse the aisles and ended up stopping by and chatting with Vic in the flooring area. 2 hours letter I had most of my questions answered and a measurement scheduled. A couple of weeks later, I revisited Vic with all my measurements and a final few questions. I got everything squared away. There were a few other folks along the way who helped me get some things taken care of. Needless to say I spend a pretty penny, but I saved a ton though and really go a great deal out of it all and left happy with how this store treated me and my questions/needs. read more

If you asked me how I felt about the situation in August, it would be 1 star. I special ordered a door that came in, incorrect. I had fixated on this door and saved for months. When the door arrived and it was not what I had ordered, I was pretty upset. The door had been picked up by my contractor and was waiting at my house when I got home from work. My house was being painted so I had to get the door installed....very long story here. I called Home Depot right away and explained that this was the wrong door. They immediately called Feather River, the door manufacturer and ordered the correction. A month passed and sure enough, the replacement showed up and it was still incorrect. You can imagine how saddening this was for me.This whole time I had been speaking with a customer service rep named Jeremy. Super nice guy and always keep me in the loop. 3 months and 3 doors later= I had the right one and it looks FABULOUS. I had told Jeremy that I would require the door installed by them since I had already paid someone to install the original door. They agreed, installed the door and gave me a reasonable credit for the mess. Jeremy provided top notch service and even thought situation was a nightmare, he was great! read more

Well stocked, organized, quality products. Home Depot is a store where you must know exactly what you need and where it is in the store. To get an employee to assist you can be almost impossible. I have rarely received assistance from an employee. The most they normally will tell you is which aisle it is in. The cashiers are normally friendly. I have asked cashiers numerous times where products are. I find the gardening staff ignorant of plants and gardening products. They seem to only have one employee who may know something about plants. Almost everytime I go to a Home Depot it reminds me why do I even bother trying to go there. I don't get any help. read more

Do not order appliance for delivery!!! They did not show up during the window given on first attempt to deliver. I called them had to reschedule soonest available was a week later, I requested a morning delivery. Since it was their screw up didn't get on first delivery felt they should be willing to accommodate their customer. I got call today for delivery tomorrow window 2-6 definitely not the morning I requested. I called them they can't change the delivery time said they "would try to deliver it tomorrow if not I can reschedule" Told him if they didn't deliver tomorrow and give the half hour call before delivery I would cancel delivery. He said Ok I can cancel that for you now if you want! Really!!!! Yikes! I called the store talked to Appliance Dept manager, he also did not care that I may cancel order. Did not care that the delivery service not working! Told me I could call delivery, told him again already called them and they were of no help. He said oh ok, well I guess they will try then! Yikes!! So they are glad to take your money but you get absolutely no customer service if you don't actually get what you paid them for! read more

The store seems heavily understaffed. When I came to pick up my order a customer service rep was helping me while on the phone at the same time while 5 people were standing in line. The person whom he asked about the status of my order was busy filling another order for someone and just told me to take his cart to take my large order to my car. My order fell off the cart while in transport which only aggravated me and added to my frustration. To top it all off, the order I placed online was not fully filled. If I didn't say anything I don't think anyone would even mention it. When I placed my order the stock and availability online seemed more than double of what I needed, but instead only 60% of my item was available. The store made the change to my order without any notice and just left it that way.That should not be the standard operating procedure, and the online availability should properly be reflected. Not only did all this happen, but thankfully I noticed that my receipt showed the fully charged amount, and only when I returned to the store to inquire about it, did the clerk tell me: "Sorry, here is the receipt for the refund". Why did I have to return and inquire about the money I was charged? read more

If someone working at a tool rental place can't answer a simple questions like "what dimensions are your exterior scaffolding" then what good are they if there are any actual questions, missing pieces or problems when you try to actually go pic up said scaffolding? It seems like they'd require the people working in the rental department to have a basic understanding of basic tools. Or at least know how to look things up. read more

I go to a lot of Home Depots all over the Austin area. This is the worst one for customer service. Today I had one guy tell me they didn't carry something and he didn't work in that department (plumbing), then he got me a girl from that department who said they didn't carry it, I don't think she knew anything about plumbing because I found what I was looking for after they left. I really felt like she was trying to be a bitch on purpose, why, I do not know. I told the manager and she seem surprised. but I don't think she was surprised . Two thumbs down. read more

I found a similar product at o lower price at lowes and home depot matched the price and took off 10% it took awhile to do it.

So to say the least customer satisfaction is NOT a top priority for this store. I was in there about a week and a half ago & not only was I not helped properly, I had to practically run around & beg for help which at best was only given out of compliance rather than want. I would NEVER recommend this store to ANYONE I know nor do I have any desire to return. I WASTED 3 hours of my life that I can not get back & in turn lost the joy & enthusiasm for building a chicken coop for my children who were so excited initially when we were trying to buy all of our supplies. I left a message with the store manager on the phone number provided & still have not heard back from. Obviously poor customer service isn't limited to the floor employees. It's sad how the customer service industry seems to be in such decline nowadays. I have worked in the same industry for 15+ yrs & NEVER was it this poor. If I could've given no stars that would've been more appropriate for this rating. I live south so out of convenience frequent home improvement stores. Unfortunately this is 1 store I won't return to. I do however like the store up north. The employees are friendly so the company as a whole is not to blame but I will continue to go the competitor while I'm south. I will also send ALL of my family & friends elsewhere to insure that decent customer service from the competitor. Another order from Home Depot and it's my own fault because I knew better. The last time I ordered from Home Depot it took 3 deliveries and lots of phone calls to get it right. I was not in any hurry because I was getting materials on site so that when I had time I could finish the project. I just had a good time laughing at how amazingly incompetent Home Depot "management" was. This time I'm not laughing. I ordered a stove online making sure to pick one that had the LP gas kit included. When the stove was delivered the LP kit was not included. It was very late when the stove was delivered (not at all close to the 4-hour delivery window) so I figured I would just go get one the next day when they reopened. Called and after being transferred and put on hold 3 times I was told that they don't carry the LP kits and yes, they are included, I just must call and order it from the manufacturer. Now maybe my expectations are just off but, what included means to me would be like maybe in the box. Now I have a new stove that I can't use. Had I known I would not have paid them to remove the old stove until I had the LP kit. You can get away with a lot and then the manager throws in an I don't give a shit attitude and you lose a customer. read more

In the past, I had so many less than satisfactory experiences at this location of Home Depot, that I stopped going and went to a competitor. I was searching for a new set of rollers for the top of a sliding screen door. One had fallen out and went missing and the door was not a common brand. The competitor had the correct size rollers, but they all had hardware attached that would not be easy to remove. So the associate referred me to Harbor Freight and Home Depot. After trying Harbor Freight and not finding the part, I reluctantly decided to give this location of Home Depot a try. The associate who assisted me was not only extremely courteous, but went way above and beyond a mere acceptable level of assistance by taking the same set of rollers that I had seen at the competing store, grabbing some demo tools, and sawing off the extraneous hardware. I couldn't be happier with the result. The rollers fit beautifully and saved my screen door. I later called the store manager to tell him how great the experience had been and discovered that the associate who assisted me, Aaron, is the store manager. Wow. What great service and what a great example you set for the employees at your store! You have won me back as a customer. Please train and empower all your employees to provide this level of service. Home Depot appliance sales staff are friendly and knowledgable, but their corporate process to replace appliances damaged on delivery is utterly horrible. A washing machine was damaged on installation and the delivery men tried to hide a crushed in side of the unit. We asked to see the side and found the damage. The unit was returned and our old units hauled off, but we did not hear from the manufacturer for 4 days when we would get a replacement. We were told we would be called in 24 hours. When we got the call 4 days later the delivery was set for 3 more days so we are now out a week from the original delivery. We have now been called that it is too much trouble to deliver the machine, so we have to wait three added days. We will be 14 days from the sale at this point. Delivery was originally set three days after the sale. The Home Depot staff had no power to order a replacement. The entire sale is handed off to the manufacturer when you buy at Home Depot. This is bad customer service. The process helps Home Depot avoid responsibility and will cause you lots of headaches if everything does not go perfectly with your delivery and installation. read more
