I'm beyond disappointed with the disgraceful level of service I've received from Home Depot, specifically from their delivery team and escalation team members Josh and Jen. I ordered a stove, and while the installers delivered it, they failed to properly level the grates -- making the stove completely unusable. I can't place a single pot or pan on it without it tipping. I called immediately to have this corrected and was scheduled for follow-up service not once, but twice -- and both times were no-shows with zero communication. Today, after yet another call, I was told the visits were cancelled because the installers "aren't service techs" and "aren't responsible" for making sure the appliance actually works. This level of disregard for a paying customer is appalling. I am shocked by how little accountability or concern Home Depot has shown. If this is the standard of service, I will never purchase a major appliance from them again and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere. read more

I made a reservation for a cargo van 2 weeks ago with a 8:30am pick. 9pm the night before the cancelled on me. They stated they have the van, but don't have the paperwork to release it. They have flatbeds available online but in store clerk can't release them, and online booking has a 10am earliest option. Since this store first opened they have come around full circle. Every project we have hired them to do for us has been spotless. There was a little miscommunication with the luxury flooring as far as them having it sitting when it was suppose to be delivered but that was all worked out and they got us moved up with their installers. We had GS Flooring which is their sub contractor for flooring they use. We had our bathrooms done years ago and now finally got the rest of our first floor completed and it absolutely looks fabulous!! The crew with GS Flooring was so fantastic!! Cannot honestly say enough about them! The guys worked hard and were completely done in 2 days with no messing around. We got the Lifesource Flooring which is Home Depot's exclusive brand. A new house means lots of DIY projects, which means endless trips to buy hardware, lumber, mulch, and just about anything else. This Home Depot is off of Weber Rd, about 2 blocks south of Boughton. The shopping floor is cavernous but there's enough staff scattered around to help in case you get lost. They have a good selection of charcoal, natural gas, and propane grills from high-end names like Weber as well as more affordable options like the six burner Nexgrill ($350) we settled on. It was simple to assemble and has already given us several great cookouts! We'd definitely recommend the Nexgrill brand. We've also purchased a hanging light fixture ($225), a Ryobi 6-in-1 power tool kit ($200), a couple of floral outdoor pillows ($50), an air compressor ($35) and misc. painting supplies ($50). In the next few weeks, we'll probably buy a Ryobi lawn mower ($260) and a trimmer/leaf blower set ($100) too. When we bought the grill, Joey helped us out at the register and was kind enough to knock $25 off of the purchase price due to the box being damaged. After checkout he radioed for loading assistance but no one showed after 5-6 minutes, so he came out and did it himself. Thanks for picking up your coworkers' slack, Joey, you da real MVP! * TL;DR * Time will tell if we split our business between Home Depot and the nearby Loews or come here exclusively from now on (it'll probably be an 80/20 thing). I have a home to remodel and went to this store first to re-build my pro status at Home Depot, but the assistant manger refused to give any discount. i went to both the Naperville store and the Joliet store. The people were more friendly and offer a discount. So I went with them instead of going to the 11% Menards store and ended up spending over $7000 and more to come. There are 3 Home Depots within the same distance of my home. After a not so pleasant experience at the one in Oakbrook Terrace, I opted to patronize the Bolingbrook store. This store has friendly employees and no one seems stressed or pressed for time, which is a good thing. They are obviously busy but take their time helping each customer. However, they do seem to be a little under staffed both on the floor and at the check out registers. Thankfully this store has self check out. Today I was looking for those silly little lent traps that go on the water outlet of everyone's washing machine. I knew they would be in the plumbing area, but those little monsters are hard to find. I am remodeling my house and have to come here several times a week, sometimes even several times a day. I've been to just about every department at this store. Recently I came to buy some flooring and needed help finding out if they had more of the floor that I was buying in stock. I found a gentleman and he scanned the barcode and said there were 30 boxes, but the shelf only had 18. He said that the lady in charge of the flooring department could help me find them. I searched for that person and couldn't find them. The store seemed deserted. When she finally appeared after 10 minutes of me wandering, she said that sometimes the system has the wrong number. So since I couldn't buy enough of them, I had to drive to another location. The other Home Depot (Naperville) had like 5 people working in flooring and I was able to get the help I needed. read more

I stopped in this store because they had a tool box that I was interested in purchasing. They only had 2 in stock and unfortunately they were both open box in display. One of the boxes had scratches all along the back and the other had no handle. I asked for help and they called an associate to meet me in that department. I asked about the handle that was missing and she said it had been broken off. Since both boxes were damaged I asked if they can do better on the price and she said "absolutely not, I'm not discounting any boxes" Well, she made my choice so much easier. I'll just go somewhere else. There's no way I was going to pay over $1000 for damaged tool box. They can keep them or find another sucker! read more

It is safe to say that I visit this Home Depot at least twice a week. I am remodeling my house little by little and come here and use every single department. Even though other construction stores are in the area I often go to Home Depot because of the wide selection. One small tip is that in the very back they often times I have lumber spray-painted with purple meaning that it is marked down 75%. You can oftentimes pick out really good pieces for really cheap. Also be on the lookout for tools that go on sale. Especially the set of tools from Dewalt and other brands. I know that some Home Depot locations do not have contractor parking but this one does. It is also convenient that you can email receipts to yourself so you can keep track of remodeling costs on your computer. read more

I always have a great experience here and the staff is always very helpful. This past visit I was in the lumber department getting cuts for a large project my father is going to build for me and the staff there was great. I gave them a list of the cuts I needed and the types of wood and molding and they spent an hour plus walking down the aisles with me, helping me get what I needed and cutting things to the right length. Installation Nightmare is still going on for 3 weeks now. Home Depot delivery service never completed installation and broke water adapter. Said they would repair it, then backed off and said we should handle and MAYBE they would compensate us. Delivery driver also said he recorded me being disrespectful to him which I wasn't. I only said that they must have broke it. I am worried that they will put a doctored recording on Twitter and people will start harassing me. I asked them for a copy of recording or a letter indicating that there is no recording. I also want them to fix the adapter issue. I have disputed purchase with Amex and contacted Home Depot Executive Grievance team in Atlanta. Waiting for their response. This year finishes like it started. A nightmare. I am on 4th year of active cancer battle. This along with Covid 19 was enough to handle. I didn't need this nightmare from Home Depot. read more

So I go to Home Depot on Sunday at about 9:15am to purchase a gift card. I ask where the cards are located and a cashier brings me to them. I ask if I go directly to her to have it "loaded" and she says I could either do it myself at the self checkout or have her do it. Since I didn't want to make a mistake, I bring it to her. She starts the process but when I tell her the amount she says she can't do it without approval and asks another clerk who is overseeing the self checkers to approve it. She tells the cashier that she can't but Brendan (Brandon?) can and sees him coming. Enter Brendan who is irate about some paperwork with his "number" on it which he apparently did not do. As he is raving the overseer woman explains that it is not a problem and he is fine. She also tells him I am standing there waiting for gift card approval. He looks at me, takes his offending paperwork and walks away. The cashier tells her I need him to approve the card, the overseer calls Brendan on the phone and has a conversation about how "only he can do it", "I'm not authorized", "Okay, I'll do it if you tell me to but I'm not supposed to", "I don't have an approval code". Throughout all of this; I'm still standing at the register and I say "This is why I shop at Menards. If you don't want a $500 sale, I can go elsewhere. ". She then goes to the register, phone in hand enters the magic code and I get the card loaded. No apology to me or the other people now standing in line. By the way, I took the free bottle of Cova Cola offer display at the register because no one "Told me how (I) could save $25 on (your) purchase". Shop elsewhere. I will. read more

Luckily found the plants I've been looking for and priced fairly for the size and health of them. Very pleased with this store staff were helpful and polite. read more

My review is for tool rental. The two men at the customer service desk were rude and condescending to me. I recently bought a house and we rented a truck from the Oak Brook Terrace location. The process was very smooth and easy. Last week we decided to do some landscaping at the house and we ended up buying more pavers than I could fit in our car so we thought let's rent a truck for an hour since we're here. Makes sense right? Wrong. I stood and waited for 10 minutes because nobody was even in the tool rental department. When a man did finally show up he gave me a quick look up and down and asked me what I needed, told him I wanted to rent a truck and he asked me if I was old enough (!!!!!!) and that he needed proof of insurance. Mind you, I just rented a truck from Home Depot that I had taken overnight . I went through this process and did not need to show my insurance card, so I did not bring it inside with me. I told him this, and all he said was he would not be renting me a truck without it, turned around and started doing something behind the counter. Your job is customer service.. if you do not want to help people - find a new one. read more

Perhaps I caught 3 employees on an off day, but my recent experience was less than pleasant. Two stars, only because the lady who greeted me was super sweet and really enthusiastic about me walking in the door... or else it would be a one star. Anyways, I paid a visit to this place because I was hoping to get some home improvement ideas off the ground. If you've never been in a Home Depot before, it's overwhelming. I was strolling down aisles, just to gather a sense of where everything was, the 1st employee walked up to me and asked if I needed help. I politely declined the assistance, yes you're doing your job, but no thank you I don't need help. This lovely person mutters, " yeah ok, cause you looked lost " and walks away before I could react. Then I find myself in the flooring section because I was looking for tiles, though in reality I learned kitchen back splash was a whole other section. Another employee had asked if I needed help and I had politely said no. I was asked what kind of projects I was looking to do ( awesome that they're doing their jobs and being persistent), so I caved and said I wanted to add a back splash to my kitchen. The employee was so kind to let me know I was looking in the wrong section because I was looking at flooring tile and not kitchen back splash tile, and went into a sales pitch about having a specialist come in and help me on my project. Again, I said I'm fine, I'm just browsing and didn't want to pursue, and then I got the " it will save you time and the frustration because you look like you're lost here" and walks away. Perhaps I may appear to be out of place in a home improvement store, but I don't need to be constantly reminded that I'm totally clueless. In any event, I did manage to pick out some things I thought would look nice, and went through the self check out line. I had decided last minute while I was self checking out that I didn't need a few things. An employee was walking by and I just shouted "excuse me could you let me know where I can put stuff I don't want to purchase" and this employee curtly said "going on break, the person manning the self check out should be back soon" . I get that everyone was trying to do their job or maximize their break time, but the side comments and annoyance of their response is unnecessary. read more

Avoid this Home Depot store. We rented one of their trucks and returned it after driving it 7 miles. I filled the tank with 5 gallons of fuel. (meaning it wasn't full when I got it) When checking in the vehicle the individual demanded I produce a gas receipt. (which I didn't have) He refused to look at the gas gage and then proceeded to charge me $40 dollars for a refueling fee. I refused to pay and they charged my credit card anyway. Pretty much credit card fraud as far as I'm concerned. Ended up spending $60 in gas for a $50 3.5 hour rental. After waiting for the manager who never showed up, I left vowing never to spend another dollar at this store. You shouldn't either. read more

So far so good. I am remodeling my kitchen and have come in at $7K for oak cabinets and Dupont Simplicity countertops with the drop in flush mounted sink. That is for installation, haul away and all materials, I bought the appliances at Fry's. I am finally going to have my breakfast bar, yippee! Now, the work has not been done yet, but so far everything is on schedule, everyone has been professional and timely in calling me back and the last quote I got on lower grade materials was somehow $30 K (and we have a tiny kitchen). They were offering 10% off all kitchen purchases and no payments no interest for 12 months on all purchases over $299 so double bonus for me!! read more

HOME DEPOT NOT REQUIRING MASKS My wife and I just got back from Home Depot Bolingbrook. While there we counted 5 customers and 2 employees not wearing masks. We are both over 65 so found this surprising and concerning. I got home and called the store manager (Mike) and he told me that, just like the police aren't enforcing it, they aren't either. I suggested that, in that case, they should at least post a sign at the entrance informing people that they were not enforcing the mask requirement so that people could then choose to come in or not. He said there's a sign saying it is recommended but he would not add anything more to that. Next, I called the Bolingbrook Police Dept. and they told me that since it's not a law they're not enforcing it. Lastly, I called the State of Illinois COVID-19 Hotline (1-800-889-3931) and they confirmed that it is just a recommendation and not enforceable. So, my purpose in posting is NOT to start a debate about whether or not we should wear masks or any other debate related to this issue - I simply want to put the information out there so that others can make informed choices. read more

Called and spoke to customer service about an order placed online for curbside pickup. Terrible experience where rep said we shouldn't be ordering this way since our item wasn't considered essential. Why do you have this form of pick-up available for items if this service is only for certain merchandise? Nothing on the website states this and the order went through for the item - this method is encouraged - so we chose this over going into the store to get the item ourselves. We will not shop at this Home Depot again. read more

A complete wtf experience. The appliance guy was new and had no idea what he was talking about. Wasted an hour for him to ask around and nobody could help him. Eventually returned the appliance and the cs lady was an idiot as well and made stupid comments the whole 5 mins it took to return. This review is specific to the rental department as the store as a whole is pretty good with good people, the paint dept staff is great. Staff in the rental department are rude, lazy, condescending and unprofessional. They fail to realize most people aren't professional contractors and do need directions. I watched Don treat a couple like idiots because they didnt understand how a garden tiller worked. The truck rental is a joke, trucks are constantly out of service and unavailable. Don't bother with the truck rental waitlist, they won't call you but will give the truck to the next person who comes in, because calling actually takes effort. Avoid these jerks and go to a real rental store. read more

Went to The Home Depot because I saw online that you can rent The Rug Doctor here. First off, I've never rented anything from The Home Depot and I don't really come here too often. When I walked in, I asked Customer Service where I would be able to rent The Rug Doctor. I was pointed in the right direction. When I got to the The Tool Rent Center, I was greeted by Don. Told him what I needed and for what and he assisted me immediately. He even explained how to use the machine. Even made friendly talk while he was entering my information in the system. He even told me that when The Home Depot upgrades their tools for rent, they sell the old ones to the customers at almost half price! That's good to know! Thanks Don for your help! read more

I am currently going through a complaint process with HD for some carpeting issues. To save you all the drama, the main points are 1. Do NOT order carpet through Home Depot because their subcontractor for carpet installation is unorganized, has unprofessional phone staff and does poor quality work and 2. Do NOT go through HD corporate complaint system- it is a system/process/endless cycoe that I'm pretty sure is designed to just let you cool down so only real complaints get through. UPDATE: So my complaint was apparently "resolved" by Home Depot shortly after my last review. My resolution in regards to the situation is to never visit the Bolingbrook Home Depot again, there's was to throw a few cents my way. No one from the store or corporate thought to apologize for their contractor hanging up on me or for their employees providing misleading information. I believe they thought that someone complaining is just after $, which kind of shows that their company is way more focused on taking your $ than building customer relationships. Since I have shared my story with friends/coworkers/neighbors I have heard that they too would not use this store for any contracted jobs (flooring, cabinetry, etc). Wish I had asked around prior to using them. It's been a few months and talking about the flooring in my house still gets me riled up. read more

I have been at this location several times throughout the years...today, had a great experience. I was grabbing mortar and I needed the 3.5 gallon bucket. I had no idea it was going to weigh so much so I didn't get a cart. After struggling to make my way towards the front, Mark asked if I needed help. He took the Mortar, put on his cart of items that he was restocking and took it to the register. He then went and got me my own cart to take it to my car. Marlene is AMAZING!! I have been to every Home Depot from Joliet to Naperville to Woodridge and no one has helped me or knew as much as she did. In a short amount of time she helped me pick out: tile, backsplash, faucet and light fixture for my new kitchen remodel. They need to clone her for every store. Other associates aren't knowledgeable outside their department or don't have time but Marlene was excellent.
