Gotta love this Home Depot so I went there to go pick up my order and they laid down the CLR in the locker for pick up and the fluid was all over the Locher and the Locher below. They quickly exchanged it apologize the Manager happen to be walking by said good morning big guy with a beard. He was talking to one of the other customer service Ladies then he turned to me so there was nobody at my register and said you're being helped and I said yes the girl went to the aisle to get my order because it wasn't in the locker. On Sunday, August 9 around 3 PM I was in the store and ask customer service to help me because there was a large Chinese fan palm that I wanted to buy and I asked if they would be able to help give me maybe a piece of rope or something at least just to secure the plant. They looked at me like I was crazy and told me to buy rope and just pointed me in a different direction not wanting to help anybody. They were standing on their cell phones. I seldom leave reviews, but today I had a very pleasant interaction with Steve from the paint department. I couldn't figure out how to leave customer feedback since it's not on the receipt. He was beyond helpful while I looked for the right paint for a DIY project. He was kind and had the right recommendation. While I waited at the register, I realized that I needed and additional can, and he went to grab another can for me so I wouldn't lose my place in line (which was very long) this interaction makes up for all the less than friendly interactions I've had at Home Depot. We need more people like Steve in the paint department! read more

They never have the items I'm looking for in stock, I constantly have to drive to Danbury to shop their HomeDepot which is ran much better. Also, if I do find what I'm looking for it feels like everything other item has a part missing. They do not check the returned items before putting them back on the shelf but they do tape up the box to make it look like it was never opened previously. read more

Staff at tool rental center were very rude and not helpful. One guy behind the counter made it well aware he didn't want to be there. He sent us away without giving the rental. When we returned to try and get the rental again he saw we were next and purposely worked slower and dragged out helping a previous customer. Keep in mind this was during our reservation time. You're better off going to any other Home Depot. If you're just looking for the basics: batteries, lightbulbs, etc., it's fine. But if you want an HD that has any kind of customer service, the latest stuff, the best selection, and a constantly refreshed stock... go elsewhere. This place is like the land HD management has forgotten about. The HD in Danbury is better, if you can deal with the 84/Danbury traffic situation. The check out line is an unorganized, unmitigated disaster which is immediately overwhelmed when the amount of people surpasses the amount of *functioning* kiosks by ONE. Home Depot management can't possibly believe this is what customers should or want to experience, which again leads me to believe this is the HD management has forgotten about. And WHY IS THE IN STORE MUSIC SO LOUD AND CRAPPY?! What happened to good old SILENCE?! This, alone, makes me want to not shop here. TURN OFF THE MUSIC! Also, not specific to this HD, but in general, HD's "ship to store" option is almost useless. I mean, it works; you can ship something to store. Store remains an absolute disgrace. After pouring through warped lumber i found two pieces of 1x4x8 that were close to straight. Go to check out. The cashier needed a sku to scan. There was no sku. She had no idea what the price was for 1x4x8 pressure treated was, couldn't find it and told me I had to go take a picture of the price to buy it. I left the lumber at the checkout. A few weeks ago, I purchased an animatronic Halloween witch that didn't fully work out of the box. The box directs you to contact Home Accents, which provided very poor customer service and a low quality product. Parts are 3 weeks in back order. Answers to email are barely literate and turn around time to answer an email is over a week and that is with me following up. Yesterday, I purchased a new Rheem hot water heater and as it was being installed, it was discovered to be leaking. Again, you contact the company and they give you terrible service. I called back 10 times before I finally didn't get disconnected. So a plumber will be paid to install it twice. I couldn't square way with Rheem so back to Home Depot with a new but leaking product. A pretty good Home Depot. Maybe it's because I'm from lower Westchester County and have unfortunately dealt with all the crummy locations of Home Depot in the area, but coming in here was actually a decent experience. Normally I'm used to terrible, unhelpful employees - but in here, the employees were generally out on the floor working, friendly, helpful, and plentiful. I saw some of the other reviews of the employees here, but based on when I came in, I experienced nothing negative at all. I respect others' reviews and opinions, but I can only comment on my own. It's small potatoes really, but the HD locations nearest me have putrid employees mostly. Although when a competitor (Lowe's) opened up near one of them, I guess they are now a little friendlier. There's no Lowe's here, so it must be natural. Imagine that - paid employees actually doing what they're supposed to do! Anyway, this location was stocked nicely and has basically what every other Home Depot carries. There were a lot more self checkout stations than I've seen at other locations, but plenty of live cashiers as well. Shares the land with other businesses, but they have a larger portion of parking lot for themselves. So in comparison to other Home Depot locations in lower Westchester and the surrounding areas, this location is a very good bet as far as actual employees doing their jobs. Everything is else is as standard as any other Home Depot location. read more

I've had it with this Home Depot... worst staff of any location! I came in a few months ago, and made some returns. For some unknown reason customer service desk employee was super annoyed. Halfway through my return he looked at my receipt which was from the fishkill location and said, next time take this stuff back to fishkill (in a nasty tone). I said "excuse me? Am I not allowed to return home depot items to other locations?" He just gave me a dirty look, and finished my return. - Uncalled for... Last week I came in as they were training new employees at the front door. I walked in, and had trouble finding an item I saw online. I went back up to the front where 3 employees were standing to ask if they could look up the item by number. The trainer (a black male) was so snotty and said, "you can look it up on your phone" - this while he was holding the home depot hand-held scanner... I told him that I do not get good service inside their building, and again I asked if he would look on the home depot store scanner. His response? "I don't know how, you can do it on your cell"... how can you be training new employees while you do not know how to do your job properly? Oddly a woman who was getting off her shift saw what was happening and showed him how to look up the item with his system. As she was doing this he said at least two times "you know you could have done this on your phone" - nice customer service! The last straw was a few days later. I came in to purchase a halloween holiday decoration. Online said one in stock. When I arrived the one they had was the floor model. When I asked to purchase it, the employee said they would sell it but I they needed the managers permission. Home depot already began switching over to Xmas decorations at this point and employees said no more Halloween would be coming in. The manager rudely came up to me and asked if I requested him. I asked to purchase the floor model and he said abruptly said "no", he would not sell it. Claiming he needed it to display to other customers. I asked him if more were due in or if I was able to order one, again he said "no". This turned into a bit of an argument since I knew no more halloween decorations were coming in so it was pointless to have a floor model for a non-stocked item. We went back and forth for a bit, and instead of helping me find another home depot which would have it he, like the other employee told me to look it up online... I eventually called Poughkeepsie who had one floor model in stock as well - they gladly sold it to me and even took 10% off. To say Brewster's staff is bad is an under statement. Most are just rude, and dismissive. I am a pro member and shop at home depots all over the area. Brewster is by far the absolute worst and I will now avoid this store any chance I can get. The worst place ever! Do not go here if you have dogs! Not sure when the policy went into effect but they do not allow dogs all of a sudden. I was walking down an aisle with my dog and an employee saw my dog jumped up out of his chair and flung his chair towards us which startled my dog who then barked at him. He started yelling at me to get my dog out of here, no dogs are allowed and he was also saying my dog tried to attack him which my dog was by my side the whole time!! While walking out I saw another dog owner and told her dogs aren't allowed inside anymore and she was shocked and still proceeded to go inside. I then called The Home Depot phone number to see when this policy went into effect and she stated there is no policy that dogs aren't allowed, people bring there dogs to the stores all the time! All Home Depot's are the same. No one working on the floor to help you. No cashiers. I was trying to buy a Weedwhacker and They had them locked up behind gates with padlocks. And nobody on the floor to help you. People say that is to prevent theft but that doesn't make any sense. They have the big items locked up but small items that you can easily put in your pocket. Are out for you to just Grab all you want. And corporate says they will pass the information along to the store manager. Store manager does not make the decision to put everything behind gates that comes from corporate. read more

Crappy customer service. I've called many times trying to get a hold of someone in the Milling Department regarding my storm door order I placed in-store almost a month ago. All I get is "Oh sorry, no one is here, let me get your name and number and I'll have someone call you back" or "Sorry, I hate to rush you off the phone but I have to go. I'm handing this off to so-and-so and he'll call you back". All I want is my storm door estimate and to have it installed! I'm trying to GIVE you MONEY, Home Depot, but you just don't want to take it. Seriously, I decided against my estimate from Lowe's because this was the one instance where Home Depot's prices were seemingly lower, yet they can't get their sh*t together fast enough to give a customer a call back and keep the process moving along. I'm starting to think that I should have stuck with Lowes. What a waste of time. Total disappointment too because most of the employees who have helped me in the store are friendly and knowledgeable. We had to go to Home Depot in Southeast today-not sure what is happening here but for the second time in as many weeks I am shocked by the behavior and actions of some employees -this included multiple employees standing in groups( distance -middle of aisles) , one young employee running up the aisle laughing and yelling to his colleagues about an incident - a young lady stocking shelves talking about how much this was going to suck, a young man entertaining a small group of his friends in the middle of the aisle ,the security guy at the exit door on his phone and the final straw,a young man stocking toilet seats who pushed his way between my husband and the shelves -not a word We have been going to this store for many years-I understand that we are in the midst of a pandemic but does that mean that expectations and customer service go out the door??? read more

Story starts back in December I needed an exterior door. I got it measured and waited WEEKS before they got a phone call back. When I did I went in ordered a door but was told the guy I ordered it with has to help me. He wasn't there. Tomorrow is February, I still don't even have an exterior door nor an instillation date. I spent an Hour and a half in the store before they figured out how to get my door all set up for an install THEN said wait this is way too much hold on let us try to fix this order because it was over $1500.00! This was a vinyl 250 dollar door. I finally got up and left because I spent over an hour and they still couldn't figure it out. My advice stay away from this store! read more

Useless. Did an an order for tiles. One box short on delivery. HD gave ME the phone number to the vendor and told ME to tell them to find/send a missing box. Vendor never answered the number. Then HD told me they'd "try" to tell their vendor to send the missing box. No update calls from HD with status. Then they told me to call, EVERYDAY at 5 am when they processed deliveries, to see if they came in. Weeks later, I got my missing tiles. When we finally started the project, HD or the vendor, had sent the wrong color for the trim pieces. We just went with it because HD was too much of a failure to waste more time with. I like the store itself. Most people are friendly. But, there seems to be a lack of training in associates because they don't seem to know what they are doing or how to assist customers, which is upsetting in a home improvement store. My husband rented a chainsaw, brings it home, the chainsaw is smoking as soon as it touches the tree. He takes it back and the associates are admitting this one is out of order but are also telling him that they will CHARGE him for the time he used with this one and he will have to rent another. (We both worked at Home Depot's in the city and this isn't the way to handle the situation) A 3rd associate comes over and says that they put the chain on backwards. No 'I'm sorry', or 'here take this one for your time'. So now, we are literally and figuratively PAYING for their mistake? This without a doubt has to be the worst run Home Depot. It's a beautiful Sunday morning at 10:30 with a full parking lot and other then a cashier at the garden department the only way to pay for anything is through self checkout with a line of 20 people. REALLY?????? Might I add, what is up with the tool rental department? They seem to march to a totally different drum then the rest of the store. While I'm not crazy about this Home Depot in particular at least they are friendly. Tool rental is mostly indignant. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse, I tried to purchase a $550 water softener that was on a shelf in 3/16/20 at 7 pm. The worker asked me are "you sure you want that item, I have a smaller one that's on the floor by the back wall"? Another customer helped me get the item down andd dc I never saw the employee again. My "question" I asked Home Depit was removed because "it was unlikely to bring positive dialogue ". Just was asking why they say no bags, when they did a d make the tellers say they have none? Still, today, refusing to supply small parts bags. I'll buy all my lumber and then have stick all the screws and speciality bits (6) in my pockets.. Why would a manager consciously put this policy in place? It's been so long, that at this point it must be planned. But, IF you forget ur small parts bag at home, look around behind the tills before u checkout. That's where the bags are hidden, I guess they only give them to as***les who complain. Phone just rings and rings; if answered at all, you get robot selection of services you don't want. Wonder if the manager, Rich Chamberlain, according to the receipt, knows about this, his employees' actions, or gives a darn. Last two visits to the Home Depot in Waynesboro, VA and NO cashiers. There were only self-service registers. Maybe ok for groceries but on one trip I had several large items that were impossible to scan and one was too heavy to maneuver to try and access the barcode to manually enter. I walked out in frustration. One sales associate was busy with other customers. 2nd visit last week for a gallon of Behr paint and again, no cashiers. I am one of those who do not like these self service registers. They tend to be quirky and last thing I want to do after a long day is to have to scan and bag my own purchases. I made inquiry and was informed due to "personnel issues" they now only offered self-service registers. I will make one more purchase for their Behr specialty paint and that will be the last time I will shop there. Lowe's and local Ace Hardware will get my further business. read more

A little bit of trivia for you. They say the wife of the guy who started Home Depot, divorced him, then left and started Lowes. Lowes was meant to be more customer friendly and even more women oriented. That being said, if you know what you want and want to get it quick, no muss, no fuss, Home Depot is the place for you. They don't give you a problem if you want to make a return, and the prices are generally good. There's a "no pets" sign at the front door, but I take my black lab with me every time and they not only allow her access but love petting her! Everyone is friendly and this location is easy to get to, being so close to 84. I'm updating my review 9/16/2015 - They are getting a 5th star for their exceptional customer service. I had ordered thousands of dollars worth of materials from Home Depot's online store. After we completed the project we had to return a bunch of unused items. Because we had ordered from the online store (which IS NOT the same as the physical store), we had nothing but problems on the return. Some items could not be scanned. Some were scanned, but no dollar value came up, some scanned and correct dollar value came up, but the system wouldn't take the return. On one day I literally stood at the counter for over 3 hours. Tim, the supervisor came by to help out. He didn't realize what he was in for, and over the course of several days, numerous emails and calls, all our issues were finally resolved. I'm being super generous giving this Satan hole 1 star. I'm not sure which psych ward they so nicely removed all their employees from but after encountering more of them I'm guessing it was more likely a group escape. Not one person here has ever been remotely content with helping us out or even knows how to help us. It's actually more sad than frustrating. My husband just taught an employee (who specifically works in wood cutting) how to read a ruler. Ummmm no? Thankfully my husband is handy & can navigate the aisles & what we need pretty well. The place has extremely low inventory & my guess is that's because the people in charge of restocking hate coming here & being treated like dog crap. read more

At the blind Dept there was one young man working on a blind and he did acknowledge my presence and said he'd be with me as soon as he finished working on this blind he seemed to be having a problem with.
