After my trip to Home Depot this weekend I am speechless. I have been frequenting this Home Depot since it opened a few years ago. Recently we lost our home in Hurricane Sandy, and have been shopping there more often. This is our second time renting a generator from Home Depot. I was appalled by the customer service we encountered upon returning it. We returned from New Jersey late in the evening, and returned the generator first thing the following morning. We were informed that we would incur a $50 late fee. When we explained our situation to the manager, Christina Lopresti, she was firm in insisting we pay a fee. This sort of price gauging during times of crisis in unacceptable. I am incredibly disappointed with this specific store (we have never had an issue with Danbury, for example). Shame on You, Home Depot. Lowes was on TV for giving out dinners to Sandy victims on Thanksgiving Day. Lowes, here we come! read more

Often, very often/too often, an aisle is blocked off for forklift activity. That is understandable on occasion, especially if for only five or ten minutes. A couple times, today for example, the aisle was closed for 27 minutes while an employee was doing something with small items reachable only using a lift. Difficult to purchase items when they do not let the customer shop. read more

If you need something at this Home Depot you may as well drive the extra 20 minutes and go to Lowes. The only people more incompetent than the employees are whatever managers are on duty. Good luck finding any help. read more

With all the staff reductions if you find someone that can help you it is a miracle. Then if you can find someone with some technical expertise it is a super miracle. I no longer shop there, I take a little extra drive to Lowes in Danbury. read more

Poor customer service extremely understaff in aisles and registers at certain times only 1 register is open for contractors all other registers closed except express checkout which sometimes is not express. Can't wait for Lowe's to come here better quality products and service. read more

The Home Depot - Hardware Stores Near Me - Brewster, New York

The worst customer service, particularly in the garden center. Practically had to beg someone to assist me with lifting and stacking 10 30lb bags of manure and when I asked if they could assist with getting them into the car, they said to ask at the register. The cashier (no line to contend with) could/would not help and sort of waived me off and said that there were people in the lot that would help. There were not. I walked around aimlessly until another customer came by and asked if he could help...an older gentleman. He lifted one bag and I did the rest...I am well over 60 myself. This is the 3rd consecutive time a customer, not a staffer has provided assistance with heavy lifting. Also, I observed that several sales associates outside were not wearing masks. Sales associates in the store seem to be more occupied with looking at their devices or talking to each other rather than making eye contact and actually helping one find the items needed. Isles in some cases were blocked with inventory for restocking, making it difficult to navigate a social distance from other customers. I am always glad for the 20 minute return drive to my home so I can regain my positive mood after my maddening customer experience at this Home Depot. How about management get outside and experience what your customers are seeing and experiencing? As for me, I am done and won't be going back. I'd rather give my business to a smaller, family run garden center or hardware store where customers are valued. It's worth paying up for that. read more

I was shopping for a new appliance and went here - never again! After buying said appliance which I asked about them taking the old one away he said sure, sure we can do that. A few days before I was looking at the invoice and saw that there was no haul away added to it and called the store. Spoke to someone in appliances who got nasty with me when he said that they couldn't fix the error and would have the person that sold me the item call me back and guess what - that never happened. I called the store and talked to the assistant manager who assured me that the issue would be fixed no problem. It was not fixed and did not come with a paper manual. I called the store again and the girl was rude to me when I told her I was calling from the car when I asked for someone to call me back AT HOME in 30 minutes and that never happened either. This store SUCKS at customer service skills and I learned a valuable lesson to look closely at your invoice when buying anything which I will not in that store ever again. read more

Don't let Home Depot do a washing machine install unless you want your house flooded, a $3,000 repair that they won't take care of. My washer was installed by Home Depot installer, who didn't connect the hoses properly, causing a flood and $3,000 in damages. It is now mid February and I placed a large order for kitchen appliances back in november and I have yet to receive it. They have cancelled two deliveries on me with no prior notice. The first time I realized after store closing that they never called me to confirm the delivery time the following day. A security guy picked up the phone and was able to tell me they delayed the delivery two weeks. No phone call. Nothing. The second time, I called the store the night before delivery and it was confirmed for 1-5 the following day. My husband and I had plans for a long wknd. We had to cancel one night for which we lost money. We waited until 5 the day it was confirmed for delivery. They never showed. Called the store again. Was told that LG never sent the order to delivery company. No call. Nothing. And I confirmed it night before. They rescheduled it for 16th. My husband And I would not be home so I had it changed to the 15th. Well the delivery company decided to show up on the 14th when we were both at work. I called to confirm the order the night before The third reschedule only to be told they made a delivery attempt earlier in the day. Again, no phone call. Are you kidding me? The store is doing nothing. I have had no appliances for over two weeks bc once we confirmed delivery, we sold our old ones to get them out of the way for delivery. I paid a contractor 200$ bc he cleared his afternoon to come hook up stove and dishwasher. We've been eating cereal and take out for weeks. Missed out on a night of vacation waiting for delivery. The store knows all this and has done nothing to make this right. Loews and Best Buy are baffled by our treatment as we asked them about price matching. A mom and pop store would bend over backwards to keep their customer. Home Depot could care less. I am beyond disgusted. If they don't do something to fix this then my plan next Black Friday sale is to hand out flyers at Brewster location warning people what will happen if they order from this terrible store. They blame the delivery company. The delivery company blames LG. This is the stores responsibility to make it right. I've taken off work one day and my husband twice to be available for our non existent delivery. The store is doing nothing to accommodate our inconvenience and lost money. If you want to make a purchase over $50 from Home Depot by credit card you better make sure that you have a plenty of time to stay by cashier. Not only you have to show your photo ID, they also take your credit card from you to call your credit card company to verify that you have enough money. Which means your credit card number, expiration date, security code will be exposing. This is pure violation of people confidentiality and security. Home Depot people stated that the company new rules and I if want my purchase, I have to stay and wait while they trying to reach my credit card company punching on the phone my credit card number and other info. Was quite embarrassing experience. read more

On 12/10/2016, I ordered a Samsung 30" stainless steel electric range from Homedepot online with the earliest available delivery date 12/27/2016, I received confirmation email indicated "delivery company will contact you one day prior to delivery and provide delivery time frame". On 12/26, the day before scheduled delivery date, no calls from delivery company, I tried calling the Homedepot number but got only automated messages. On 12/27 at noon, after one hour wait and being transferred over and over, I was told my delivery is scheduled between 2:30-6pm, the truck driver will call me 30 minutes prior to arrival. At 5pm, no one contacted me so I called again,being put on hold until 5:24pm, I was told the delivery company is an outside contract, not part of Homedepot so it is up to me to call the delivery company next day during work hour to find out the problem and to reschedule and the person hung up. I was shocked and called back again and asked to speak to a supervisor, I got directed to Michelle at Home Delivery Support in South Dakota, she told me that since there was never a truck number assigned to my purchase, it was never meant to be a delivery taking place, plus the delivery company told her that they could not locate my item so I need to contact my local Homedepot to resolve the issue...I purchased this item as a holiday gift for my mother, both my brother and I took off from work to wait for the delivery and nothing came! It was the most absurd that without first confirming the item was delivered, I got two survey in my email asking for feedback, so I wrote about my terrible experience and submitted it. Later on 12/30, I received an email telling me that my review has been REJECTED! I did not know that we are not allowed to write our true experience, now I know how Homedepot FILTERS their reviews, I can NEVER trust reviews on their website anymore ! On 12/28, I reached out to Homedepot and reported my missing piece and I was told to wait. On 12/29, I reached out again and spoke to Quita at Resolutions, she. Seed and told me she will follow up and conduct investigation. On 1/1/2017, three weeks after the order, I had to pay my credit card bill for the ranger which is no where to be found. On 1/5, they located the item and the earliest delivery date is 1/11/2017, and someone will call from GE delivery company the day before to confirm. On 1/10, no one called about the delivery window just like last time. On 1/11, I called in the morning and I was told between 2-6pm. No one showed up, I called at 5pm, spoke to Michael Pratt. At 5:10pm, he said Lisa from GE Delivery told him that they have up till 8 pm to deliver. Michael told me in the future to refer using a case number he has assigned. No one showed up, so I call back again st 8pm referring to my case number, Brady spent a long time looking into it and after 30 minutes, he said the number was for a mirror and he was confused... we then started over again and the delivery company said I should be PATIENT since the actual delivery doesn't end until 11pm! I waited until midnight, no delivery. On 1/12, I spoke to team leader Ricky Stark, he is the worst I've encountered regarding this matter, he said if I'm not satisfied, I should just ask for a refund and hung up on me! I called in again and asked to speak to Ricky Stark, He said I JUST HAVE TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THE BEST THEY CAN DO IS TO DELIVER IT TO ME ON THE 17TH, AND LIKE IT OR NOT, THIS IS THE FACT ABOUT LIFE. I said IF THIS PARTICULAR MODEL IS NOT AVAILABLE OR MISSING AGAIN, I CAN ACCEPT ANOTHER SIMILAR MODEL INSTEAD, he said I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT FIRST AND CANCEL THIS ONE ! HE also said IF I WAS TO PURSUE LEGAL ACTIONS, THEN THIS MATTER IS OVER and OUT OF HIS HAND. I emailed Quita, she responded after her vacation and arranged for delivery on 1/14, and promised that I should be compensated for these experiences. On 1/14, delivery arrived at around 8:30am, the father and son team brought in the ranger without any packaging or protection, they fit it in the original spot but said this model cannot be flushed against the wall like before and left. My brother and I looked at the unit and realized the back and side of the ranger was dented and bent causing the uneveness, I took photos of the damages and sent to Quita at 9:06am, she asked whether I wanted to return for a replacement or accept damage compensation, I was terrified of this experience and told her I will accept the damage compensation. She called back and said Samsung will email me a $75 refund check. On 1/18, I wrote about not receiving email from Samsung. On 1/19, I wrote again about not receiving the refund email. On 1/30, I still didn't receive anything and wrote again. Today is 2/12/2017, Quita also stopped responding. I cannot understand how Homedepot and Samsung could take advantage of customers like me. I paid full price for a new ranger and after 40 days, I got left with a damaged goods! read more

I purchased a Patio door from the Brewster NY store, purchasing was easy, took my money fast. But getting assistance afetr that , forget it. First didnt get call from installer who was suppose to measure. Than once installer made appointment and I left work early, they didnt show up until 3 hours afetr appointment. Than day of install, never got a call , e-mail for confirmation. Tried calling the store, on hold 35- 40 mins until gave up.! I will cancel entire order if they dont show today. I will NEVER buy items like this from them again. read more

They cannot handle on-line orders. I placed an order for ceramic tile and grout at 1:19pm. By 5:30pm, I still hadn't received an email stating that it was ready to be picked up - the status was still 'in process.' I attempted to call the store for 1 hour staying on hold for up to 20 minutes and then hanging up and dialing various departments including the customer service desk, Pro Desk, Flooring, Special Orders - just hoping to get a human on the phone. At one point, I did get one guy on the phone who said he was with a customer and couldn't assist and forwarded me back to the customer service desk where, again, no one ever answered the phone. I finally called the 1-800 customer service number for Home Depot and explained the situation. The rep tried to call the store and get an update on the order for me and even HE couldn't get through. He tried the store manager's line and the rep was getting frustrated himself. He told me he's never been put on hold for so long and he's never had a situation where he couldn't get someone on the line. Finally, the customer service rep, apologizing profusely, advised me to cancel the on-line order and that he'd issue a $50 e-card for my trouble. What a waste of time. I asked the rep if I placed the order with another store in the area if the same thing would happen and he told me that it probably would because they're having issues with their new on-line ordering system. I decided to give it another shot and placed an on-line order with the New Milford, CT store and had an email within the hour stating that my order was ready for pick-up. So, it was not a store-wide issue with the on-line ordering system. Brewster, NY management is just so poor and obviously doesn't care about customers. The Brewster, NY manager should probably find another job because he's doing a lousy job managing this store. On another occasion at the Brewster, NY HD, I went there during my lunch hour to buy one can of Kilz primer. I noticed that the barriers were up in the aisle, so I waited and waited. Apparently, they had someone on a forklift in the next aisle trying to get something down from a top shelf. I continued to wait and wait and wait. A couple of the store employees came up to me asking if they could help and what it was I needed, but they couldn't do anything either because of the safety barriers. But, I could tell a couple of the guys felt bad and even tried to find out what was taking so long. One guy, after assessing the situation said they had 'Helen Keller on the forklift.' After 45 minutes, the barriers finally came down and I got the primer and was late back to work. This store is really the worst in the area. read more

got better things to do than right reviews but think everyone should know this store is horrible! go to lowes! I bought a John Deere lawn mower, wanted to have it delivered, needed it sooner than later. paid $80 for next day delivery, but of course they didn't have any time slots for the next day so I paid $80 for next week delivery. then when they finally do deliver it, the don't have a key or operators manual. according to the website I was to get a white glove delivery......LMAO! the guy dropped it off and tried to leave, said I would have to call and get the key myself.....no, no, no. I made him call so I didnt have to wait so long, the woman in customer service said she would call back for directions......that was an hour ago. so now I have this beautiful green and yellow lawn ornament and no way to move it because I cant start it because I don't have a key. shame on home depot. I will be telling everyone that will listen, about this experience. I'm sure this is not what home depot wants to hear and if I send my yelp review and my contact info and waste more of my time they will nothing to rectify this situation.....so just do yourself a favor and go to lowes. read more

Terrible customer service. I've been to the store 6 times to get a quote on a door/order a door and still don't even have a quote. Went there 3 times and there was no one to help me in the doors/windows department. Person went home, come back tomorrow. No one else can help you. Went back next day. Person didn't come in. No one else can help. Went a 3X same story. Went a 4th time and finally someone at the Pro Desk was there to help. Went over 2 doors with him for over an hour which I was told were custom and he would have to get a quote and get back to me in a few days. Its over a week later and haven't heard from him. Went back to the store and he wasn't there (of course) and the Doors/Windows Manager couldn't even find a quote with my name on it. I'm guessing the door will be in the $3,000-$4000 range. Guess Home Depot just isn't interested in my business. read more

If I could give this store, and its manager, Gary, zero stars, I would do so. We recently placed an order online on Black Friday that was blocked by the credit card fraud department. After being assured by the very helpful Home Depot online team that upon clearing the matter with the credit card company, they would honour the original prices, we were told the order had to go through this store for some reason. That's where the problems arose. Both the person in Appliances and the Store Manager refused to honour the prices and said they would rather not have our business then give us the prices we purchased the items for. I would like to thank them for making the decision easy to never shop at that store again and I would encourage anyone else to find another option as well. read more

i wish i could give a good review because of the workers in store try their best but i had two bad experiences in two weeks that will make me drive to Lowe's now. First- i bought a Grass Hog trimmer last year and went there to buy new reel but the store had none and the rep could not find any in their computers to order. She tried her best and we finally saw there was a major recall last year before i bought the item and that it was continued. She tried to tell management that the recall was in effect when H.D. was still selling the item but they said i should buy a new one then . Today i bought a quick $10 item in their garden shop and within 6 hours my credit hour exploded with fraudulent charges. I have not used this card in months and i did not lose the card which is still in my possession. All the charges were local , gas stations and drug stores etc. so it is not a international ripoff but the local ripoff . Someone at that store was able to get my number and i take great security using the card even blocking my phone number when i enter it into the card. read more
