I must have been very proud of a recent DIY project when I penned my last review of Home Depot back in 2019, because as much as I don't loathe trips here like I once did as a kid, they are still not my all time favorite. The one exception is the gardening area which I love very much. The plants are usually in goodish to great conditions and not overly priced and they have great seasonal varieties. The real insp for the review update is the family Christmas tree! We were a tad late this year and only got our tree the morning of Christmas Eve, and Home Depot not only came through with a beautiful, big, tall and full tree, but this 7 foot beauty was on sale for $29. One of the few pros at procrastinating so much. While I still don't LOVE trip here, they have everything I've needed for projects inside and out, a helpful team and a big and varied garden center. And do not sleep on their Christmas trees! read more

Having been a loyal customer for more than 25 years, I was concerned when the Veteran's Parking Spot was eliminated. The sign was torn down and the white lettering on the ground eliminated. I am an 84 yr old US Army vet who found it a great convenience and a privelage to be able to simply pull in and always find a convenient parking spot. I reported it to the store management several times with no response and no action at all. At this time, I am convinved that 1) it was done intentionally and 2) there is no plan to correct the situation. Very upset and very disappointed with this particular store which has long been a favorite of mine, and many of my veteran buddies. read more

Made my basic selection of a new refrigerator online. Knowing we will live with the choice, we went to Home Depot to physically check it out. Amanda in the appliance department is extremely knowledgeable and really helpful. She took us through the myriad of choices, pros and cons. We ordered an LG. After clearing everything out of our fridge, I rejected delivery of a unit that arrived with a dent. We reordered and 2nd delivery, again after emptying our fridge, said we should have plumber to install.So, second unit went back. I went back to Amanda who showed me the simple water supply screw in and re-scheduled an expedited delivery. Delivery today was finally flawless, same guy delivered and I was able to just screw on water line in the back of the LG. Amanda saved us a-lot of money in selecting the most functional unit for our needs and jumped right in to assist and navigate the process until LG performed appropriately. This is my go-to store. I've been to all of the Lowes and HDs from Flemington to Hillsborough to Bridgewater and beyond. This is the best one around. It is worth driving a little further to come here. They workers are friendly and helpful. The Pro Desk staff go out of their way to get things done for you. I've even had to return a large special order that I messed up the measurements on and they took it back with no issue. After a recent purchase, using my Veterans discount, I was given a hand written card thanking me for my service. That was a first for me and left me speechless. read more

This store is a lesson in everything not to do. I've visited this store on 3 occasions to buy bird seed and suet, only to find the entire back of the store where they keep these products completely closed off with freight palates everywhere. If this was a one time event, fine, but they use the back of the store like a freight warehouse! Either move these rows to somewhere within the store or, do you palate unstocking during the hours the store is closed‍. In addition, they had black collapsible boxes that had a clearance sticker, Was $15.98 Now $4.96, so I grabbed 3 of them. Only to find out in the middle of using a self checkout lane that they rang up for full price . I just gave up completely on this store, it's strictly the competitor for me from now on. read more

I've used HD many times Usually not a bad experience. But lately it's been almost impossible to get help in the flooring dept. I waited 45 mins for someone to finally come to the flooring desk so I could pay the remaining balance of my bill. First it took me 10 mins just to find someone not busy so they could page someone. The employee looked at me as if I was a nuisance..Then 40 mins from then did someone finally show up. I think I'll try Loews or a different HD next time The floor install itself went fine Looks nice Only complaint is they didnt clean up their work area on my front patio read more

As far as Home Depots go, this is one of the better ones. They usually have most everything in stock, which is a welcome change from some of the other hardware stores in the area, and they make it really easy to get in and get out as fast as you want to go, which is something that I prefer. That being said, if you want to spend some time and talk to a sales associate about a product or get some suggestions/advice, many (not all), but many of the folks are more than willing to lend a helping hand. Prices for everything are just about on par with what you'd pay online or at other stores, and the selection is moderately varied. In the rare event that they've been out of stock of something, they usually ship it right to me or over to the store, free of charge. Overall, I've had nothing but good experiences here. We ordered a washer dryer from Home Depot on the first of December. As of now (more than 1 month later) we have received a THIRD defective machine (GE brand). Never buy a major appliance here since clearly there is no quality assurance with these machines and they shipped out 3 defective ones. We are now waiting on a return and will take our business elsewhere. read more

Is there a no star option for this place? This is by far, one of the worst Home Depots I've ever had to drag myself through. As someone who has owned and ran two separate contracting companies, I cannot even begin to believe that I have ran into an issue every single time I've had to go to this place in the last 5 years. I will usually go to Lowes or Somerville Lumber and probably pay twice as much, but sometimes I'm forced to go to HD because of time constraints. The customer service is horrific. The contractors counter, a joke. Walking through and seeing a team steps briefing taking place in the middle of a store, the goofing around, crude comments flying... That's just the beginning. I've stood next to a "floor person" waiting for them to get finished with a customer, sometimes for ten minutes, only to have that person look right at me and walk in the other direction. Seriously? Because God for bid, I try to get something myself, or cut a chain because nobody is around, and I'll then get my head chewed off. The final straw was when my 80 year old father ( owner of a large contracting company) went to get 20 bags of lime and asked for help loading it and was told they were too busy. Unacceptable. Contractors desk: biggest joke ever. If they have to look something up that you already know is in stock, pack a lunch because you're going to be there a long while. And when they screw the order up (in their favor of course) then they send you, to customer service to fix it. Good luck with that!!! I hate having my time wasted and this place will do it every....single.... Time. And please, if you're going to post a greeter at the door to help direct you, you should probably find someone who actually knows where the items are. The guys in the rental department are the laziest, angriest individuals I've ever come across. I've rented so many things from them over the years and when it doesn't run or is broken and you bring it back, they make you feel as if this was the biggest inconvenience in their entire life. It's horrible. It's like Grumpy Cat is running the place. Did I mention I hate having my time wasted? Take a lesson from Lowes. Their staff is very attentive, will follow through with any request, smile, will take you to the product you're looking for. And they're happy doing it, or at least appear that way. I feel bad having to give a horrible review, and normally, I don't do these things unless things are just that bad. I wish someone had warned me about this place a long time ago. I suggest, paying a couple extra bucks for your lumber by going to either Lowes, Jaegar or Somerville Lumber. The fact you save yourself a lot of time, a migraine and a lot of aggravation is worth the extra money spent at those place. And you'll have better quality stuff. Hands down. read more

Needed help loading three (50 lb) bags of sand into my cart and car. Stopped at customer service and Priscilla was less than thrilled that I asked. She looked at me and said I need to call for assistance and walked away. Several minutes later and the line growing longer I saw an associate busy yet available. I asked if he could help me with my request and said 'I sure can.' Raul loaded the three bags into my cart and said 'Tell the check out person to call for assistance.' Raul was talkative and engaged me with in the minutes we were together. I purchased the sand and Raul came to checkout and said 'Please give me a moment to help you. The parking lot assistant is busy and I'll help you right away.' Raul went out of his way to be helpful but also kind and accommodating. Five stars for Raul but one less for Home Depot because Priscilla was less than thrilled to be working in customer service! read more

Went to this location to buy a new washing machine cause they're having a big labor day sale. Went to the appliance section and waited and waited and waited.. Not a salesperson in the section for twenty minutes. Finally flagged down an employee who was walking by the section. He stated he didn't work in appliances but would send someone over who could assist me. Needless to say nobody ever came. Finally went to the front of the store to speak with a manager. His incredible response was "my appliance guy is on his lunch break". Really?? This HD shuts down an entire dept without notice cause one person goes to lunch?? Congrats HD -- you've just converted me to a Lowe's customer. read more

Have never been called "ma'am" so much in my life until I called this Home Depot's paint department. First person to answer is a woman who barely speaks English. Since she couldn't comprehend my question about outdoor paint, she handed the phone to a gentleman who rushed through my inquiries with frustrated brevity. When asked which paint he would recommend for a concrete statue he could not answer, and kept saying, "well ma'am, we have outdoor paint that sticks to concrete, but it's not very durable." Okay. When asked for a recommendation, what paint department advertises the products they carry as "not very durable?" It was clear he did not know much, and moreover, had little patience in dealing with not so obscure a question. Paint is a big department at these stores. Get some people who can function, and at least speak the language, when working with the public. Support your local paint stores, and forget these bogus people. They would hire just about anybody at places like this. No skill, expertise, or knowledge. read more

I went to Home Depot this past Saturday to pick up a grill I purchased that was pre-assembled. I was also getting a tank of propane for the first time (which ended up being a super confusing process which is why I deducted one star- conflicting info from staff on where to go and what to do). I didn't catch her name but the short, older woman with short hair who was working behind the pick up counter was extremely nice. She even came from outside the corner and cleaned off the grill for me! But the best part of my experience was Joe from Gardening and Victor from the Lot who helped me with loading the grill into my car. These poor guys spent probably 20 minutes trying to figure out how to fit into my small car and disassembled and reassembled multiple pieces until it finally fit. But the whole time they were laughing and joking with each other (in turn making me laugh, I was highly entertained). They never complained or made me feel bad about the additional work. And Joe was nice enough to say that if it didn't fit he didn't mind dropping it off at my house after his shift! They both were fantastic and I shook both of their hands and thanked them. I'll come back again just to work with them and joked that I'd specifically request them. You've got some great employees working at this store! read more

The only reason anyone goes here is it's about the only game in town. I wont go into details but if you shop there you know...This are really going down hill boys and girls. They are going the way of amazon. They dont stock anything. Have a project? Dont expect to find the things you need there...There is never anyone working the floor. Took me 3 months to get almond tile for my bathroom. Guy sold me caulk that didnt match..I could go on and on. The store is EMPTY wonder why. I hope I live to see them go out of business. I made my LAST purchase there today. I brought back the 3rd tube of bad caulk...received a credit..was asked for ID. I then went to the only open register with 8 or so not staffed and once again..with the receipt in hand asked again for ID. I HAD THE RECEIPT IN MY HAND. What the hell??? She went to get the manager when I refused. Knowledgeable staff I think not..is ALMOND SO DIFFICULT? And corporate asks there staff to always say Hello...what a joke bring back a real home improvement store where you can buy things beyond decorative items and maybe I'll shop there. I've had enough. Thinking of Lowes? Think again..they are no better. I really hoping some other home improvement stores open soon. I have shopped for the last time at Home Depot. You can do it Home Depot can help? I've been to this location many times but was wowed with the service provided to me by Dave in the Plumbing Dept. I am shopping for bathtubs and had alot of questions. Dave was SINCERE, more than helpful, and knowledgeable. He took his time to assist us and made sure we left satisfied! I knocked a star off for the girl at the registers- she clearly didn't want to be there and made no effort to even crack a smile,say thank you, or anything. I am so painfully frustrated with this particular home depot that I will never shop here again and instead travel 20 minutes out of my way to go elsewhere. The only reason that I am giving it two stars instead of one is because there were several employees on the floor specifically in the hardware, doors and in the paint departments who were consistently helpful and very nice.. HOWEVER - most of the employees we came in contact with acted as if they were doing me a favor and the employees working the customer service desk are horrible. HORRIBLE. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars there and made many many trips to pick up ship to store items and not one time did I get treated like a human being at the service counter. They are condescending and rude and difficult for absolutely no reason. I've had it. HAD it!! Also.. The stock in the store is lacking compared to what you find in better managed locations. I will be visiting LOWEs to finish out my extensive home renovations. read more

Horrible Horrible Horrible!!! Run, don't walk away. I ordered a kitchen appliance two weeks ago. And my only request was to make sure it was installed before a party I was having to celebrate my daughters long fought and won battle with cancer. This was supposed to be a happy time. And, in spite of the wait, the sale went fine in store. Except when delivery FINALLY came they did nothing they said they would. I paid full price for installation and previous dishwasher removal. And I got nothing. In fact they guy took the dishwasher back while I asked him to leave it to make matters EVEN WORSE! Delivery vendor dictates to you like you are a handicapped 3 year old. Amazingly condescending and rude. There simply is NO customer services ability and they tell you what THEY are going to do, not what you purchased. There is ZERO communication between vendor and home depot. They are in 2 different worlds. I wish I never ordered here. Worst experience ever!! So sorry home depot but you NEED another delivery vendor. They are your only option AND THEY KNOW IT! Not a good business plan for you. read more

Wow! I couldn't believe how rude the personnel are at the customer service desk! While I was being helped I saw other customers fuming in line as people behind the desk opened and emptied boxes, answered the phone, and ignored them. They didn't even acknowledge them and say they would be right with them. I saw them sporadically help people when they were in the mood. Other customers even got assistance before the ones that were already in line. When they complained, the response was a very nasty "We'll be right with you, okay?!" Unbelievable. read more
