Disappointing and Unprofessional Service I had an absolutely terrible experience at The Home Depot on 6300 Glenway Ave in Cincinnati, OH, today. I visited around 4:30 pm, needing a 3-foot section of galvanized chain. When I asked an associate in the doors and windows section for help, he was immediately rude, telling me "come on man" as if it was a burden to assist me. He was obviously annoyed and continued to ignore me, scribbling on a piece of paper, despite my polite request. After waiting with no response, I approached the main desk where three associates were seated. They promised to send someone to help, but after waiting another few minutes at the chain aisle, nobody showed up. When I returned to the desk to follow up, I was told--incorrectly--that help had already arrived 15 minutes prior, which was simply not true since I hadn't even been in the store that long. Eventually, the same rude associate was called over. He walked toward me, muttering insults. Both him and another employee attempted to cut the chain but failed. Frustrated, the first associate threw the chain on the floor and loudly cursed, then stormed off. I asked the second associate for a tape measure, and while the machine appeared to be working, I was told I was not allowed to use it. When I asked to speak with a manager, the associate argued with both me and another customer who tried to help. The manager, Amanda, showed up and did nothing but defend the rude behavior of her staff. Finally, another associate was able to cut the chain with no problem--something the others could have done from the start. Amanda then followed me and told me to leave the store as if I was the problem. This experience was unprofessional, hostile, and completely unacceptable. Amanda, the manager, fostered a culture of disrespect and antagonism rather than customer service. I am a regular customer who visits often, but I have never encountered such rude, unhelpful, and downright aggressive behavior. The management and associates involved should seriously reconsider if customer service is the right career for them. I demand that Amanda resign for promoting and defending this outrageous behavior. Home Depot should not tolerate staff who treat loyal customers this way. Avoid this location if you value basic respect and competence. read more

I spend a tremendous amount of money purchasing building supplies. As a rule the HD help does the best with the skill set they have. Last week I purchased a skid of 42 bags of 80 pound concrete. The lady and gentlemen who loaded my truck were very nice, professional and customer focused. I then returned the skid to get the $25 deposit back. I went to the service desk showed the receipt received my credit, took the skid to the load dock . Everyone was very friendly and professional. Today 8/12/2025 I purchased another skid of 42 bags of 80 pound concrete. The loaders were very professional and ensured safety and care in the loading process. However today when I returned the skid I went to the service desk. (4:42 PM) and was waited on by Kimberly. This lady was the most unprofessional, nasty and rude person I have ever seen at HD. She insisted I bring the skid inside to the service desk. When I pushed back and said I will take it to the loading dock she said she would not give a credit. She then made a call to somebody. After the call she offered to get someone to unload it. I agreed. She walked away from me with out looking at me or saying anything, just walked away and went outside. A few minutes later she came back in asking where was my truck. I walked out to show her. She had someone go to the truck and get the skid. Once she saw it was being unloaded she walked away from again with out a word. I followed. She provided me the credit. The point is being nasty, rude and unprofessional was totally unnecessary. I write the review simply because I like HD but Kimberly made me feel like a criminal. HD needs to take her off the front line, relieve her of her job, give her a vacation or training. Home Depot ripped me off for $466. I purchased two garage doors from HD that included all materials and all labor. I was required to measure the doors before the doors were ordered. When the doors were shipped to me a site inspection would be arranged to make sure the doors fit. When questioned about the process, HD said I was misinformed as the site inspection would take place before the doors were manufactured. HD arranged the site inspection by a 30+ year employee, my measurements were confirmed as accurate and the inspector said everything was approved to move forward. Several days later I received an email that the order was on hold, and I needed to call HD. I was told that someone decided I had to have a piece of wood mounted on the wall behind the spring. From a picture the manufacturer sent, HD said it looked like just a "scrap of wood", however the total materials and labor would be 23% higher than the written contract. The manufacturer's installation manual indicated the wood was part of a normal installation, but contrary to HD contract it was not part of the materials and labor quote. Because the old garage doors had deteriorated, I felt the need to pay the extra $466. However, after paying the additional amount, and while the new doors were being manufactured, I was told I could have used the springs from the old doors which would have saved more than $466. HD wanted to settle the dispute, but required I sign a release which would have also removed the normal warranty. Around this time I also found out HD had not provided me with state and federal disclosure documents. read more

This place is just awful . I bought some plumbing supplies that I needed to return on the same day due to misinformation from an Home Depot employee. I couldn't find the receipt and had to take a reduced price on the return - but I found it as they finished the return...wedged in my pocket. When I showed it to the cashier and the manager ( who looked like he crawled out from under a rock- at least comb your hair) they both said so sorry - too late-we can't return it for that price - even if you have the receipt. God - what kind of human beings are they? read more

This is the closest big hardware store to me, and they do have a very good selection when it comes to just about anything you need. The major problem that is prevalent is lack of assistance. The employees seem to try and avoid you in order to not be bothered. read more

The Home Depot - Grills galore - Hardware Stores Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

I ordered a refrigerator in early February from Home Depot. I received an install date of March 20. I purchased the refrigerator with an icemaker to replace a refrigerator that had an icemaker. March 20 came, and the contractors who were delivering the appliance could not hook up the refrigerator. They took the refrigerator back and said we needed to have a plumber change a copper line to something else or it would void the warranty. I now have no refrigerator until the contractor company can get a plumber to my house. Home Depot has outsourced the delivery and installation of their appliances, and it's pathetic. I purchased it with an icemaker and I have the water line already installed, but they refused to install the refrigerator. I will probably lose $500 worth of food because I have no refrigerator. Customer service has been horrible. I could not even hire my own plumber because that would also void the warranty. You would think that since they had a month and a half they could've checked ahead of time to make sure I had the correct water line to the appliance, but that makes too much sense. read more

Home Depot does a good job of having virtually everything you need from a hardware store. I needed a 6 foot length of garden hose. They had multiple options. I would have given 5 stars but I had to find somebody to tell me where they put the hoses. It was outside in their garden center. read more

This place is dog friendly and it smellss like fresh lumber. Some of the stafff know what they are talking about and go out of their way to help. The hardware department sucks though so go to ace hardware if you need anything special. read more

We visit this location often. They typically are very helpful and have everything in stock. Rachel in customer service is usually the only unpleasant person. Bill (older gentleman that walks around) is very knowledgeable and we usually seek him out if we need advice on products. read more

The employees there are either tired and sick of their jobs or think it's a place to potentially prove an attitude. That being said hopefully they vote in 2020. Grow up and face it Home Depot either pay your employees better wages or get the fuck out of my wallet. Fair warning, but I'm sure you already know where things need to be. I was very disappointed with this Home Depot. Not only was the store disorganized, but items were miss marked. The same exact item/ item # would be in more than one place, with a different price on each. Customer service seemed nonexsistant. An employee walked right by my daughter and I, and didn't even acknowledge us. My husband was a couple cart lengths behind us (he had been drooling over something we weren't going to buy,) when the employee passed him not only did he say "hi," but asked him "how are you doing today?" The self checkout was terrible. None of the terminals were working correctly. It took 3 employees to help us checkout. It would have been more productive for those 3 employees to be ringing up people on real registers. Unfortunately, we still have a balance on a gift card. They get any stars because they are the closest big box hardware place, but they could be a lot better. I always find it very difficult to find any employees on the floor or any big carts. Where are they hiding them? Buying 2x4s is an exercise, because you have to wade through half the pile to find non-warped pieces. The checkout aisles for large items aren't big enough, so you end up getting in everyone's way while you're waiting to check out. And finally, if you do manage to find someone they tend to have no idea how to answer your question and prefer to send you off to find that one magical person who can answer your questions. Too bad that person can never be found. They're probably living it up somewhere with all the big carts... Oh, but they do seem to hire a disproportionate number of attractive people. So they got that going for 'em, which is nice. read more

I was out looking for appliances found a washer discounted by 75% what a deal...or so you would think. Until the floor person stated it didn't work. So it is very hard for me to understand why any company that sells new items would be selling a broken item. Lowes is further away from me but that is where I'll be taking my business. read more

I don't even know why I bothered based on past experience, but they were having a decent sale on appliances. Was comparing models on their website, which sucks and runs slow as hell by the way. I made my decision and tried to order it. It says please see a store associate to complete purchase. WTF kind of BS is that? I live a few blocks away so I go over there. No one in the department, big surprise, so I have to flag someone down to call someone over. I tell the guy what I want since the website is currently deleting the sales items even though the sale doesn't end for 4 more hours. He looks it up in their computer, and it won't let him order it. It says they have 135 in their warehouse, but it won't let him order it. He just stares at me blankly and says "well, it won't let me order it". "Maybe go try Lowe's or Sears". Thanks jerk off I will. Went to Lowe's and got it ordered and out the door in less than 10 minutes. I guess Home Depot didn't need that $1000. read more

I have never had an issue with this store. I have always found what I need here. The staff is some times a little hard to find but all of them are very knowledgable. I really like the fact that they carry shark bite parts. I can't tell you the number of times I have been to this Home Depot. I have only been a home owner for a couple of years and I don't know what I would have done without some of these guys advice. It is a box store so prices are pretty comparable to Lowes. They will price match also if you do find it cheaper. read more

Asked for a hygrometer and they acted like I was from the planet Mars. WHen I explained that it's just a meter that measures ambient humidity in the air they showed me to a 60$ device that measures humidity in wood. At which point I left because I was tired of the incompetence. Went to a mom and pop hardware store in Cheviot (Small's I think) "Hey do you have hygrometers? Yeah right behind you. DONE! and that ladies and gents is the difference between a good hardware store and a giant hardware depot. read more

I bought a lawn mower on line & had it del. To my house by the end of the summer the gears were striping out in the drive train and the wheel adjusters were breaking off I took it back to the western hills store & after a evaluation they gave me a full refund to buy a new one instead of sending it back to the factory to have it fixed in wich I probably would have had the same problem because of the poor quality of the lawn mower thanks Home Depot! read more
