The Home Depot in Corona is a good spot for getting tools and supplies for your home improvement projects. At this visit, I needed to upgrade my landscape and needed fresh annual and perinneal flowers as well as a restock of garden mulch. The garden section is located at the side of the store and there is a lot to look at. However, there is rarely any staff in the Garden area to check out or find prices so I had to as the Customer Service employee to page an employee in the Garden Area. Took about 10 minutes to get an employee to help me out. After visiting this section, my husband and I visited the lighting section. We walkt to look at new indoor lighting to modernize our home so it was nice to see all the different varieties that this location has to offer. Again at check out the pricing scanned that came up didn't match the one on the floor so had to get the manager to finalize what the price of our ceiling lamp should be. Basically, this location has a huge variety of items including power tools, lumber, paint, flooring, appliances, lighting, plumbing supplies, garden plants, patio furniture, hardware, and seasonal décor. However, just make sure you double check the pricing as it is being scanned. Parking is easy since there's a large free lot right outside the store, so loading bigger purchases into your vehicle is pretty convenient. read more

I am writing this review to report an extremely disturbing and humiliating incident that happened to my husband the day before Thanksgiving--an experience that no customer should ever have to face. My husband went into Home Depot with a pipe in his pocket, purchased a new pipe, and left with his receipt in hand. He then drove next door to Dollar Tree on McKinley. Moments later, things escalated in a shocking and terrifying way. The Home Depot store detective falsely accused my husband of theft and told police he had stolen the item. Because of that false claim, police confronted my husband inside Dollar Tree, yelling from the door, "Get your hands up, you are arrested!" in front of employees, customers, and families. He was completely blindsided and humiliated. Even after showing proof of purchase, the detective still took his receipt and the item he had just bought. Police then put him in a van, took photos of his tattoos, and treated him as if he were a criminal--all because of a false report made by the Home Depot detective. This happened despite the fact that my husband is a homeowner in Corona and a former Home Depot manager from the Inglewood location. To be treated this way by a company he once served is disrespectful, traumatizing, and completely unacceptable. No customer deserves to be profiled, accused without evidence, or publicly humiliated. Home Depot must take responsibility for the actions of their loss prevention team and ensure that this never happens to anyone else. There was no apologies. They only said I guess it was a misunderstanding. read more

I rented a tool and it stopped wit after I had to refuel. This was less than one hour into the rental. I called the store many times asking for help to troubleshoot it. It never worked after that. Employee was annoyed about me calling them and started to be rude. I went back to the store and they changed me for the full rental. The filter was very dirty and that caused the gas equipment to not function. The manger on duty, Karen, hung up the call when I called to discuss the issue. The shelves weren't stocked with items they had on pallets. The associates were not quick to assist. Once I got someone to assist it took 20 minutes. I had to check or it would have taken longer. The workers were suspicious of me when I was looking at screws. I went here to look for M4 0.7 30mm screws I was minding my own business for about an hour looking for the screws I needed, then they had one of their employees stalk me and constantly stare at me I felt like they were breathing over shoulder they must've come to an assumption even though I was just looking for screws. Then after I go to self checkout another employees stands right next to me and proceeds to watch me scan every screw as if I was planning to skip one or something. The corona paint dept... If you're looking for a test of patience or a masterclass in being ignored, very rude, congratulations--you've found your spot at Corona HD. I entered the paint department optimistically, thinking I might get some help matching colors or, heaven forbid, asking a question. Silly me. The woman associate who looked genuinely inconvenienced by my existence. Negotiating for their help felt like trying to broker world peace--minus the progress. Each question I asked was met with a shrug, a vague mumble, or a blank stare worthy of an Oscar. I guess "close enough" is the new standard of excellence. If you enjoy being ignored, confused, and walking out more stressed than you came in, this is the HD paint department for you. read more

I rented a cargo van yesterday, went from Corona to Downey and back 30miles each way, went back and forth twice. Since I finished early, I decided to tank up and bring the van back since my car was parked in the Home Depot lot. When I got to this location, they said that I could leave the van and return tomorrow with the key. Which I did. So when I came in the next morning, the clerk for rentals checks the gas and comes back and says that the tank is half full. In total shock I ask him to show me and it was. So in a cocky tone says, " I am just saying what I'm seeing" ... and so I say I fill the tank of this van, so I am not going to pay $20 for each gallon of gas that you charge for a half filled tank. But I was livid. So 60$ after, I ask to speak to a manager and the manager just tries to be cordial. I am a complaint resolution officer for customer complaints and I read people very well. This man did not care or even understand what I was so upset about. He then proceeds to act like it was an A-ha moment and then says " Oh you mean you think they stole the gas from your rental!" Seriously??? I have been talking for 5 minutes and he was none reactive until I was so upset and just started tearing up. So at this point I just lost it and it was only then that he says they will review the cameras on lot. Clearly nothing was going to be done, so I said, its useless speaking to him because for one, he never gave his name nor did he ask mine. So this was HOME DEPOT's way of de escalating the situation. Bottom line - rental equipment customers - BEWARE! I left that place paying for a van for $150 and $100 for gas with only a fourth of it that was used from the haul. Who even does this??? And just because I am a woman, the place dominantly with men just act like I was making things up. I am still expecting HOME DEPOT's manager at McKinley to call or email me. I received a nice Kohler showerhead for Christmas. Before installing, I went to Home Depot just to make sure I had the right tools and to get any helpful tips. Ray is amazing! I won't bore you with all the details but I will confess, I encountered a challenge and went back to the store. I asked if Ray was available however was saddened to hear he was not there. Another representative helped me which I am truly appreciative for however I was happy to see Ray as I was getting ready to checkout (I think he may have returned from break). I brought him up to speed with the status of my "uninstalled showerhead" lol and he patiently listened to my story and re-directed me to more appropriate, cost effective options which I appreciate. I got home and followed his advice and I was able to install my new showerhead in less than 15 min! If you need anything, ask for Ray, he is very knowledgeable and will take time to listen and empower you to get the job done!!! read more

This is the worst customer service I have ever received at a Home Depot! This is the Home Depot at McKinley Crossroads II located at 490 N McKinley St, Corona, CA 92879. The back story: We have Kitchenaid products. We purchased our microwave in 2017 and have had it repaired one time. We started having issues with it again in May 2025 so rather than have it repaired again, I chose to replace like for like and ordered a new one from Home Depot on May 30, 2025 as it was not available instore. By the time it was delivered on June 12th our original microwave was miraculously working again and I apparently should have cancelled or refused the delivery. However, I was sure it was temporary so accepted the delivery. The original was still working as of July 26th so I decided to return the new one which was still unopened. Started with Debbie at returns. I explained that I purchased this microwave, which was unopened, after my identical one stopped working correctly and I wanted to replace like for like. Further explained that by the time the online order was delivered, my original one started working correctly again and that was why I needed to return it. She huffed and puffed and got someone on the phone and then told me with her snarky attitude that they would take it back but with a 15% restocking charge which amounted to $115. I explained that I had to order it online because it was not available in the store and as such, I would like to have the restocking charge waived. She rolled her eyes, called Karen the store manager and told us to wait, which we did for about 10 minutes. When Karen showed up she clearly had no intention of waving the restocking fee and in fact took great pains to flip through their policies to point out that returns for appliances had to be within 48 hours. So, I said, just to be clear, you are willing to take it back and you have the ability to waive the restocking fee, you are just unwilling to do that and she said yes. So, we left with the microwave. We had intended to purchase a $30 item once the return was complete and my husband also advised her that he often has his guys purchase things from the Home Depot, he owns an Electrical Contracting company, and spends upwards of $10K per year in addition to our personal purchases which are at least $3K + and that we will not be utilizing HD in future. We also told them to keep the $30 item as we will get it elsewhere. Seems very short sighted over $115. Karen, came across as a real "Karen"! read more

This review is about James and Manny in customer services. We went a couple weeks ago and visited the garden center and as we tried to pay with a couple of HD gift cards my husband received as bday gifts, we found out one card was already used. The card even had the receipt and we left both cards intact so the cashier could open them herself. We aren't from Corona but since my husband was there earlier in the week for a job, he really liked this garden center selection. Anyways, thanks to James searching and finding out more detail about how the card was used by the fraudsters, he found a solution! So I don't really know a lot about tools I had an office job my whole life. I knew what I needed so I went to Home Depot. Walking around aimlessly with no one there to help me. Right when I walked in a woman by the name of Nahla asked if she could help me. I guess I'm looking for a hacksaw. This woman is not from this country and I don't know that she knew what a hacksaw was but she pulled it right up and told me exactly what I needed. I went to find it and I need some more help again no one to be found so I went back to Nahla. I asked for a table vice and again she hadn't got a clue as to what that was. But she pulled it up and told me exactly where it was. And lastly I needed some PVC elbows. Once again not quite sure what that was but she pulled it up on her phone and told me exactly where it was. This was the best higher you ever made Home Depo. She doesn't really have a full grip of the English language or our terms but it didn't matter she gave me service above and beyond everybody else in that store that day. I know me if I didn't know what someone was talking about I would've crumbled under pressure. But not Nahla!! The five stars are for her and whoever hired her. I went to Home Depot in search of renting a carpet cleaner to clean my carpets before my party. The people behind the rental counter were extremely helpful and explained each carpet cleaner that they had a which one would work best for my project. They also let me know that they only had one brand of liquid cleaner in the rental area, but I could go to another aisle in the store and pick another one if I wish. I went over to the other aisle and grabbed a ZEP product and I couldn't of been happier. The carpets came out great and I actually used all of the cleaner that I bought. They do a higher deposit for the rental on your credit card, which I totally understand, and then return it when you return the rental. I had to purchase my other items at the cashier outside of the rental area and the self check out was closed, so it took a lot longer than usual. There were only three check out lanes open and a ton of people checking out. I wish they either opened the self check out or had more cashiers. read more

The staff are very helpful but the customer service manager was a little disappointing. There was a promotion online for a power sander for $25 off that for some reason or another, didn't match the price in store despite having the same Sku number. I went to customer service and politely explained our situation. The lady at the register was ready to give us the online price but needed her manager's approval. Instead of giving us the price that Home Depot is advertising online, which he easily could have, he tries to haggle with us. My wife was furious but I just politely told them no thanks I'll purchase it online. The guy could've easily saved us the hassle from ordering it online and could've made a sale for his store, but ironically, customer service was not high on his priority. We wanted to start our project today but now we have to wait a week for our sander to arrive. read more

As I was checking out another staff member asked if I wanted to apply for credit card there and I would get $75 bucks off my first purchase. I applied and got the discount for that same purchase. Hello, covid is over! Each time I come I bring a propane cylinder only to be told "we are out" Cmon, there is no shortage of propane. REPLACE YOUR STORE MANAGER! He/she is not doing a good job. I've shopped Home Depot for years! I had previously been really disappointed with the lack of knowledge in different departments. Today that all changed. I don't know what you guys did, but I was impressed! Everyone I asked a question knew what they were talking about. I want to specifically thank Nikki in the paint department. Winfredo was such a help today when we needed help loading our wood and tying it down. He went above and beyond and did a great job.

I always buy wood here, and they usually have time to cut it for me as well. The staff at this location are very helpful compaired to a few others i have been to.
