Chris Hast in flooring was the most unprofessional and disrespectful customer service I have ever experienced! We went in and ordered (2) 11x22 carpets.. he told us he would give us a great discount if we ordered it the day we were there and would put the carpet at will call so that when I rented a van to pick it up it would be ready! I was very excited until I got home to find I was only given 2 rolls of 12x11. I called him to let him know he told me to bring it back and he would make it right. Once we arrived he showed me another carpet he would give me at the same price but when it was time to pay.. the checkout was $300 more than he said it would be. He told me "oh well" & when I said that this was so unfair he said I "need to get over it". I went and found a manager (Erik) who tried to fix what Chris messed up and still had to pay way more than I should have! This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Selection is good Customer service with store employees over the phone and online some of the worst I have ever experienced The delivery services are the absolute worst.They contract with the worst delivery services (On trac and Central transport, I'm talking about you!!!) unfortunately, there is no way to know what delivery service you will get until the item has already shipped and it is too late to cancel the order! If you do get lucky enough first a good local carrier to deliver, it's great. For instance., FedEx is good in my area. If not, make sure you take all day off work, can hire someone at a moment's notice to help move heavy items where you want them once the leave them in the driveway, even refrigerators with a photo of what's inside in color on the box (Can you say 'stolen'?!) Make sure you are properly comparing prices by adding in the true costs of these hassles. And, last but not least, make sure your dogs are locked inside all day because they will leave your gate open even though they found it latched. If you do not want lost or dead dogs and possible prowlers who find your open gate intriguing, shop elsewhere ! read more

It's nice to have a Home Depot in driving distance. Having just moved to Eureka I was surprised to find out there was no Lowe's or Home Depot. Luckily Crescent City is just a 80 min drive up the highway. Home Depot here has what I expect and I appreciate that it's not super crowded. That comes with a cost though because that means there's not as many employees to help out and there's some items out of stock. Nonetheless Home Depot prices are usually pretty competitive compared to local shops, and there's generally a bigger selection of items. Doing home improvements we were able to pick up a number of builder grade cabinets for our garage as well as all the tile we needed in order to make a hearth for a new wood stove. The nursery area is great here though I wish there were more perennials vs annuals. The sporadic out of stock items and low employee to customer ratio aside... I can generally find everything I need in my own here and of food quality as well. While it's not convenient to drive so far to get there... a little planning and it's just like having everything I need nearby. read more

My husband, my husbands brother,his wife and I came from Humboldt to make some purchases today. We had to search for help and If we found it, the customer Service was lacking to say the least. We sat and waited for help getting our purchases into our truck. We sat waiting for nearly 30 min just to end up getting help from others waiting for help I was told everyone is busy Prior to this I ended up having to load a small freezer on to a cart alone because after the cashier called for help nobody came or who Did happen to walk by said they were to busy to Help. Yesterday my wife bought pellets from Home Depot for the woodstove upon opening the bag it was clear that there was water damage which made the pallets unusable. When I returned the pellets I was told that in fact they were left out in the rain so the Home Depot knowingly sold me a bad product and then refused to return it for a refund. This Home Depot is the only game in the area. Thank god for being able to order what you need online and then just pick it up at the store or have it delivered right to your front door. Ordering online and purchasing through the HD website is pretty easy, follow up emails let you know the status of your order and when you can pick up your materials, etc. at the store. Living in remote northern coastal California can have its trials and tests of ones intestinal fortitude, This particular store is located a little over 65 miles from my home and its the closest one to me. Trying to find building materials at a reasonable price can and is a challenge behind the Redwood Curtain. The local hardware option in my town did not have the basic construction materials I was looking for and when I asked the price it was double the price of that at Home Depot, along with the other things needed a trip was warranted - so off I go over mountains, through giant trees and around the edge of the world - an hour and fifteen plus or minus drive later I arrive. The Customer service desk personnel are for the most part all friendly and professional. However, the "Loading Teams" lack a lot to be desired in the form of basic customer service, and this pattern seems to be the norm here sadly. My most recent trip after driving up, then go to the customer pick up desk so that I can get my order(which has already been bought and paid for) - get their "pick up" ticket/invoice/receipt, I now walk to the other end of the store to the contractors desk to get my paid for order (this is where it gets stupid) my "loading team" is not only inept, they are lazy and not at all customer service aware much less friendly. These two knuckleheads take forever to get my already pulled order sitting literally right there out to my truck (less than 25 feet from the door) - these personnel are supposed to help you load (they stood there and watched) once I get all my materials into my truck off the first load I still have another full cart of materials to load - these two idiots (one flagging and one driving the forklift) proceed to go back inside and then both of them take the one concrete block left over in the load and take it SLOWLY back to the back of the store - disregarding my second half of my order and leave it sitting there - no help, no regard for the customer, just inept - after about 4-5 more minutes waiting I go back inside where NO loading personnel are to be found to help. I get the cart of my materials (the bags on concrete and treated lumber) myself and roll it out to my truck with no help and then load it all myself with no "loading help" and then get in my truck and drive off - never seeing either of the two "helpers" again. Sadly this is not the first time this has happened here. Anyway, you get the idea - this store has its purpose, but its a complete pain in the ass to deal with when picking up materials and the "loading personnel" need some serious customer service education. The loading personnel are completely lacking and incompetent at this location and its better to have it shipped straight to your home if you can. I'm sure I'll go back again and deal with these fools again as sadly, its about the only game in this area. I've traded with Home Depot for over 25 years now been in many of their locations and this particular store is one of the worst customer service experiences ever. 2 Stars. No No No and NOPE. First of all, if your from Oregon, don't plan on driving to this store and buy everything there....you will be taxed!! You can order online and have it shipped from this store, and NOT be taxed, but let me warn you.....this store has the WORST shipping dept. ever!!! I ordered some BIG items that cost me over $$$$$. Home Depot kept pushing my order off over and over again, telling me they didn't have my items in stock. I was told they would leave a note for the lady in the shipping dept. to call me back. A month later, with many notes and no return calls from the lady in shipping..... I still didn't have any of my ordered items. I decided to contacted the manager. I told them to cancel my order and I would like to have a refund. Magically, that day, my items were in stock. They apologized and told me that their store has been going through some reorganization with staffing and so on. Ok...so my items? I was told they will ship them out and I should get them within a few days. So Yeah...I did get my items finally, but that was a nightmare of hassles. Never again!!! read more

This home depot is by far the most disappointing one I have ever experienced. The store is often cluttered and things are out of place or RIGHT in your path and I often have to go out of my way to go around because I can't even get through the isles. I do a lot of DIY projects and I often need to shop for certain things so I just deal with it, but boy they need to start getting more professional in there! The associates are so slow and don't really care for the store's organization. When I don't need help I get things faster than when help is given and it is getting ridiculous. But let me tell you about my latest shopping experience since it was a total pain in the neck. I went to buy a new washer. I knew what I wanted. I asked for all the new parts it needed as well(separate ones- fees paid right there and then) I was told the washer was going to arrive earlier than expected, so to call and ask for it earlier. Sure, great news for me! But when the day came, I called to ask. I was on a long hold, just so she could tell me the washer was not in yet. I thought Ok delays happen. Common issue. So when would the truck arrive? She didn't know. I called, again the next day during a different shift time hoping a different associate would know more... another long wait time on the phone before getting help. He said the 13th. I told the guy in appliances to make a note that I wanted my order changed from delivery to self pick up. (I wanted to get my washer asap) He said he made the change and would let me know when washer arrived. He said to check back tomorrow for status. I called the next day(another long wait on the line) nope. No truck. -_- and I asked if a note was made to change from delivery to self pick up as I had asked. They said there was no indication of a change made. I knew it. So frustrating! No one is doing their job efficiently or at all. So I wait another week. I called to ask if my washer was in, they said yes. So I asked when it was best for me to pick it up. I was told I would have to give a 2 hr notice so they could bring it to the front for me and have it ready to go. Alright, simple enough. I called the next day to give them a heads up on the pickup. I called at 330pm and agreed with the female associate that I could go pick it up at 6 pm. I went at 620 just in case to give them more time, and they couldn't find where my washer was when I arrived. REALLY? So I had to wait and give them time for them to find it in their system. Then they gave me a paper to take to the customer service desk to confirm pick up. I went to show my receipt of purchase so I could be checked out and have my washer released to me. The washer came in a box and they had already placed it in my husband's trailer so I didn't ask any questions. I figured it took such a long time for me to get through the customer service that they loaded it and strapped it down. But they didn't make sure I had everything I purchased. We went home and SURE ENOUGH... The parts that go with the washer(separate parts I had ordered the day I bought the washer) were missing. The sales associate that helped us with the purchase was Karla. And she specifically manually keyed in the parts into our order and we paid for them. But guess what... she ordered a dryer power cord. I ORDERED A WASHER!! not a dryer!!! What in the world! So even if they had given me the parts "ordered" I would still have no washer to use because they gave me a power cord for my dryer. The washer came with that. I needed hoses. Why is everything so tedious of a task to complete? I don't want to go through this again. Just because they are the only big store in the area, people HAVE to buy there, but man, this is hurting home depot's image. Should I buy at Lowe's or elsewhere and haul it myself since that is what I did anyway? For all the years and pins and badges the employees wear on their aprons, they sure don't know what they are doing. From phone calls taking too long, to mishandled orders, to inefficient customer service, to disorganized store. Everything screams disorganized and mismanaged. read more

I needed to repair some grout on my counter, and needed some clarification about the products I would need. The woman who helped me seemed more focused on trying to get me to sign up for a Home Depot credit card than actually answering my questions (all the employees I asked for help did, in fact). She even disappeared before I had located one of the products I needed, so I had to look it up on homedepot.com in order to find its location in the store. Worst of all, she apparently recommended the completely wrong set of products - the grout caulk she said I'd need never actually set up on my counter, meaning I had to remove all of it and start over. I went in looking to buy primer. Only to find out The kid KC/kacee not sure how to spell it. Was very rude & would not even shake the can of primer I bought. I politely asked him if he could mix it & he just ignored me & walked to the next customer. So I decided to walk off & pay for the primer to deal with a nice young lady at the checkout & she was ready to make him shake the can up. Also stated to me he already had 3 complaints that day. There is very few employee's that actually have any knowledge or respect. I can list them all on 1 hand. I can't stand Ace as they are overpriced on many items & most have no clue about paint sprayers. They think 1 tip does all paint properly. We have 3 stores in town for most items. Coast To Coast is best for odds & ends, Ace & homedepot. I should have checked Coast To Coast as they are alot more knowledgeable & friendly. read more

We bought 14 gallons of Behr paint the weekend of Memorial Day cause they had a rebate offer of $10.00 per gallon. As of today 10/2/18 we haven't received the $140.00 rebate card. I have gone on line 5 times to the rebate center. First they said my purchase didn't qualify for the rebate. They had me give them the bar code numbers from the cans (thank god I hadn't thrown them away). Then no card. I go on the rebates website again they said they were working on it. The last time I was on their website they said I should receive the card within 5 days and if I didn't get the card by 9/17/18 to call this 888# which I called today. They said they have no record of my rebate to go on the rebate website which I did and all they said was they had to research it. I told them this SUCKS BIG TIME. Still no rebate card. I'm not sure what to do anymore! Be ware if you buy paint and expect a rebate card as they promise. read more

We recently bought carpeting from Home Depot in Crescent City and Holly in flooring helped us. We were nervous, but Holly knows her job and proved it by making sure everything went according to schedule. The estimate was fairly accurate and he came on time. The installers (Wayne and group) did an amazing job. They were on time, efficient, polite, careful and installed 1500 feet of carpeting in 6 hrs, with no lunch break or swearing or loud rap music! They should be on Home Depot's star list along with Holly ! We had our reservations at first, but I'm truly impressed with the quality of the carpet and the installation.!!!!!!! I am really happy that you have a app for my phone because if I had to rely on any of your store staff to find items you sell I would never leave your store. Staff at this location have no idea what your store sells, how to use the items, where the items are located, or even if the store sells the items. I honestly have no idea how your merchandise gets unloaded from the shipping containers and then put on the correct shelves. Staff at this store walk around until they see a customer then quickly turn down the very next isle and begin a game of hide and seek. After playing hide and seek with three different store staff a great fun game. I asked all three staff where I could find a duct cleaning brush. All three staff took sever moments attempting to clarify my question and then admitted that they have never seen the item in the store. After the third attempt I pull my own head out and remembered your app. After a brief search I found that your store had six of them in stock and that they were located on isle 35 bin 102. Thank goodness I thought to check the app because your staff would have had me lost forever. I am quickly understanding why more customers just wait for amazon to deliver Merchandise to a customers door. As a disabled senior, shopping HD is nearly impossible. Although no store is REQUIRED to provide electric scooters for senior and disabled customers, HD has only three and those are useless, dead batteries, not working and the manager has never assigned any employee to be responsible to maintain scooters. Grocery Outlet, 20% the size of HD, has six or more fully charged and useful scooters at all times. Solution? Don't shop at HD. They apparently don't need the business of seniors and the disabled. My experience in the crescent city store had been satisfactory in the past but my recent experience with a staff member in the lumber department re-enforced my husband opinion that mom and pop's store provide better customer services then big box store. I went there on 04-21-17 to pick up some Pickett fence panels. Previously, they were placed on the floor so I was able to sort through them myself. This time , they were kept up on shelf so I have to request for help. But I definitely got "customer no services" from this person called either "sayer or sawyer". He was annoyed that I rejected the first two panels he brought down because there were cracks and other damage noted. He did not verbalized it but his body language and curt remarks say it all. I think he just expected me to accept the panels he brought down. He left and Vincent came to help and I received the best service ever. He did not make me feel that I am imposing on him to help. Very willing to help and even offer to load the panels into my truck when I am ready to check out. For Vincent, I gave 5 stars, for Sayer no star. read more
