Asked if they can do anything for me - can't replace it for free, but he invited me to come back and he would lessen the blow of having to get another one. Still had to fork up another good chunk of change - was mad a hornet, but felt better that they at least tried to dampen the damage for me. Wrong. The tech spent 10 minutes behind the fridge on the phone with Frigidaire to diagnose then gave me an electronic invoice for $260 labor for a job that takes less than 30 minutes and $247.80 for parts that were $130 in total online for the most expensive OAM parts (they were much cheaper on Amazon, but for the purpose of my discontentment, I'm sharing the most expensive costs I could find at any retailer). Because I decided to decline after questioning the invoice details, I was on the hook for $199 diagnostic fee + $20 restocking fee for the parts. Naturally, I don't want to give them $220 for a 10 minute visit, and I need the repair but don't have time for additional research to find a more honest company at this point, so I will pay them to do the work, but will NEVER refer anyone or use that business again. Read the Yelp reviews and you will find that my experience is not unusual. Correction. The charge was $548 and the technician was there for 10 minutes.
