    I cme in here this afternoon because the more time that we spend in our new house, the more we see things that need to be repaired or replaced. Namely several of the light fixtures throughout the place, but especially in the bathrooms. The store has three compete iles filled with lights and everything else electrical. A couple of the chandeliers that I came across looked very nice and even somewhat elegant, and they weren't outrageously priced either. In terms of bathroom lighting, I found a really nice fixture for less than $150.00. I noticed some ceiling fans also, but those are not really our thing. The 2 hall lights that we need to replace were less than $100.00 each. Then after spending about twenty minutes in the isle I picked out an awesome modern light for our dining room. I couldn't located the box with the light in their inventory here, and I needed to request help which wasn't so easy unfortunately.

In particular, I appreciated receiving notice of damage to one of the machines before delivery. Now Appliance reordered the machine from the manufacturer and is prepared to deliver and install when in stock for no extra charge. The salesman, Chris, was responsive both by phone and email. He was very helpful in selecting the appliances that fit our budget. If I had my wish, the online catalog would be easier to navigate as it has no search/filter feature.

Only a 3 year old unit used very conservatively. That's the first issue. I was sold these machines are rock solid. But aside from that... they show up in my mind to fix it (I told them what the problem was) and the tech merely confirmed what I said myself and then said they would need to order the part. I had upcoming work travel so... of course the part took 72 hours so I scheduled with them immediately for my return between two trips. Then the morning they are due to arrive they just cancel and say they rebooked me for another week!! No backup plan. No nothing. So I call and spoke to an exceedingly unhelpful supervisor who said the tech was ill (this happens) but the had no backup got a week?!!! They sure are happy to sell appliances but not to stand behind them. I explained I had to travel again but I could do the Thursday or Friday of the week I'm traveling and they told me they could only do Wednesday. No effort to meet actual customer service. This is a joke of a company. Go to M and M appliances in DC. Or Sterling appliances. Or Costco even!! But don't go to these people. I've seen better support from a cotton ball knee brace than what this company offers. They clearly don't plan for contingencies or prioritize their service to customers via internal resource management. Zero stars if I could

May 2nd, 2025 I contacted Bray & Scarff as the range hood was no longer working and requested service under the extended protection plan. May 9th, 2025 Technician came out and said it needs a control board and a switch, which he told me he ordered and it should arrive within 10 days or so.. After several weeks of hearing nothing I called Bray & Scarff service. I was told the part was on back order and they would seek an alternative supplier. Several more weeks passed so I went to the store. They contacted the service department that was not responding to me. Service responded next day and scheduled a service call. June 24th, 2025 Another technician came out on June 24 and told me the part had not actually been ordered, because the original technician probably did not realize he needed to make a phone call to order it. He ordered the part from Broan (the maker of Best appliances) in my presence and I was again told it told it would take around 10 days or so to arrive. July 10th, 2025 I put in a detailed complaint on the Bray & Scarff website I selected that I can be contacted by phone, text or E-mail and the best time for me is ANYTIME. I received NO response. July 14, 2025 I called Bray & Scarff yet again. After a long delay, I was told that the cost of the repair was too high and they would refund me the purchase price of $1950 (the actual purchase price was $2052) and I would receive a check in the mail shortly. THE COST OF THE PARTS WAS KNOWN TO BRAY& SCARFF ON MAY 9th, WHEN THEIR TECHNICIAN MADE THE DIAGNOSIS. August 6, 2025 My wife made yet another call to Bray & Scarff. She was told the check had not been mailed and they would look into it. August 10th, 2025 STILL NOTHING Filed a complaint with BBB Proposed Settlement This is a breach of contract. I expect Bray & Scarff to fulfill the terms of of the extended warranty contract and pay me damages, for the more than 3 months period that I have been without a working appliance and my wasted time trying to resolve the issue, in the form of any difference between the purchase price of a new appliance and the original price, plus the cost of installation. There were no Terms and Conditions or brochures.
