The padding we bought was a little on the pricier side than we would have liked but no qualms otherwise. We paid for our items right in the garden house via self checkout instead of having to go back inside to do so. Ample parking in the lot shared with Office Depot but the roads leading out to the main road can be confusing. read more

Not to recommend renting any trucks or vans UNLESS you need to ensure few things: a full tank of gas and check the tires. HD charges $19.99 for gas if they "see" the returned fuel level and checked out level is not the same - how do they know what in the tank?When complained, they checked and moved the van and said the Card is closed and cannot do anything about it. I would recommend to get a full tank of gas when leave the lot or take the picture of the fuel gauge before and after. DO NOT trust their clerk's picture. My rental Van is rear wheel drive - rear tires need to have more traction. The rental van rear tires are flat/worn out however front tires are brand new. When returned, told the store clerks and Manager and assistant Manager claimed they rented for a week and no complaints. IMO, it is UNSAFE to drive during a wet road. New GE products purchased Labor Day weekend from Home Depot #HomeDepot #GeneralElectric Dryer-dryer malfunctions with 48 hours (electrical) took over a month and 4 deliveries before we have one delivered that is not damaged. Washer not used because of no dryer. Washer failed (burned rubber smell) with 3 washes. Remember-they were "professionally installed" by Home Depot vendor.Bodewell- GE related repair company on warranty work) comes out. Yes-warranty work on new appliances vs them replacing. Plastics rubber bushing interior rim melting. Ordered replacement. Two weeks. Within a week of replacement, -sounds of metal moving around regardless of the load size, terrible noise. They come out last Monday. Here and gone in 10 minutes-need two persons to "repair". Will call back. Get an e mail a day later they've scheduled next appt for 11/25. This will be the 7th day of pto. I have now used far more pto $ than the cost of both washer and dryer. Shameful of Home Depot, GE and Bodewell. Home Depot-you are who we did business with. Really appreciate the customer service at this Home Depot. We went on Saturday morning during Memorial Day weekend. The place was packed but attendants were available when we needed them and answered our questions to locate everything we needed. And the best part was when we were ready to check out we found Neloofar who was amazingly quick and efficient. We used several gift cards and she was able to make sure we got the best price. By the way, a week before the water heater fiasco, I also bought a microwave. We measured what we could, but could not determine the front-to-back depth with the old microwave already installed. Maybe they could have looked up the dimensions of the old unit from the serial number, but they didn't. It turned out a wooden brace needed to be moved. The installation team told me they were not authorized to do that part. The lead installer said he knew a carpenter who could do it, but then he never called me back. Home Depot regards it as entirely my responsibility to get a carpenter and complete the installation. I'm left with a nice new microwave perched precariously on its packing box in the middle of my kitchen. I WILL NEVER HAVE HOME DEPOT INSTALL ANYTHING AGAIN! I recently visited this HomeDepot location and unfortunately had a frustrating experience. I needed assistance with accessing a cage since many items are understandably secured due to theft incidents at this location. However, despite the increased security measures, there seemed to be a lack of staff available to help customers promptly. I waited for nearly an hour before ultimately deciding to leave without the help I needed. This experience has led me to believe that this particular HomeDepot may not be the best use of your time. We came here for the first Saturday of the month activity. You can take the activity to go or "get messy onsite". We chose the latter. We waited less than 5 minutes for a spot to open up for access to paint and tools. Help is not really around but, seriously, if I could follow the directions and successfully turn out the product (in this case a butterfly house) with my young children, anyone should be able to do so. I appreciate that they offer opportunities to engage the local community and I plan to bring my kiddos back soon. read more

This one is always busy. You'll find plenty of products, but lines can create headaches. Also the parking situation is unique. There are just so many retailers here, and spots can be hard to come by. I'm not enamored with that, and unless there's something this one has, I usually go to the Fairfax or Merrifield locations. It's all about what's best for you. As for service, you'll find good folks here. You'll find employees quickly, and they are great at getting you to a desired spot. Pricing isn't the best right now. Don't worry as they aren't alone on this. They compete with Lowe's mostly. Usually I find HD a little bit cheaper. They definitely have some nice power tools here. Also their paints can be quite competitively priced. That alone is a good reason to roll. read more

We took a quick trip to Home Depot to get some items for our new townhouse. The parking lot for this location is very difficult to navigate, recommend parking at either end for easiest exit. We found what we needed but had trouble locating an employee that could answer our questions - we ended up leaving without our questions answered. Overall feels like Home Depot is like many other stores - being impacted by inflation and continuing to raise prices, as well as reducing the number of knowledgeable employees that can help and make the prices worth it. read more

I went into Home Depot last night, about 20 minutes before closing. I accidentally peeled the first layer of the drywall off of the wall. I was hoping to fix it. People at the front pointed me toward the paint section and told me to ask for Glenn. When I got there, and Glenn came over, he was so incredibly helpful! He walked me through the materials I needed. He didn't try to rush me out or say they were closing. He walked me through each step on how to repair that drywall and made sure I had all the materials I needed before I left. I cme in here this afternoon because the more time that we spend in our new house, the more we see things that need to be repaired or replaced. Namely several of the light fixtures throughout the place, but especially in the bathrooms. The store has three compete iles filled with lights and everything else electrical. A couple of the chandeliers that I came across looked very nice and even somewhat elegant, and they weren't outrageously priced either. In terms of bathroom lighting, I found a really nice fixture for less than $150.00. I noticed some ceiling fans also, but those are not really our thing. The 2 hall lights that we need to replace were less than $100.00 each. Then after spending about twenty minutes in the isle I picked out an awesome modern light for our dining room. I couldn't located the box with the light in their inventory here, and I needed to request help which wasn't so easy unfortunately. read more

Bought all supplies for the raised garden bed without snafus. Lumbers were cut to specs, organic garden soil and peat moss bags were really good quality. Organic seeds planted are growing just fine. We just moved to the area; and with that comes many trips to the hardware store. This Hime Depot is only a mile or so away from our new place; so it was a convenient location. I went in to find a specific nut size for a speaker stand. I tested it in the screws/nuts aisle (aisle 13), and found out that it was an M6 (metric size). I couldn't find any of the metric nuts, bolts, or screws, so I ventured out of the aisle to find an associate to help locate those. I saw a group of 5 associates all seemingly doing nothing, so I asked one of them if they could help me find a metric nut. I kid you not, his response was, "we're just going to do the same thing you do, is look for it." I mean.. why do some people work in customer service? I've gotten some great deals at this Home Depot. The small wooden table and lawn chairs I have out on my balcony were procured here. As well as lamp wire doubling as speaker wire. This store has always been horrible - service has always been bad, store is always dirty and most of the employees hide in the back a lot. Now with COVID, things have gotten worse. The Home Depot website is poorly designed and does not work properly. I placed an order for curbside pickup (I don't want to go in the store during Covid) and the site split the order - half curbside and half home delivery. Even though I specified curbside pick up for the whole order and they had 50 units of the item I was ordering... I have to drive five miles further down the road to go to Lowe's or another HD that is marginally better. I crave the days of old neighborhood hardware stores. Add the convenience of a one-stop shopping experience with friendly and informed service, a 10% discount for veterans and generous return policies and you get a great experience from start to finish. HD is our "go to" for plants because of their amazing policy; if the plant dies within a year- they replace it free! (Yes, let me repeat that, they replace it for free but f/when it dies!) For a serial plant killer and no green thumb gene, this store policy is worth giving horticulture a try even when the odds are stacked against me. read more

Ugh. Went here for some screws on a really hot day, mid 90s outside and humid. Barely any cooler inside! Difficult to tolerate, to think, to function. Employees just as uncomfortable, avoiding customers and dismissive and irritable when asked for help. (They were uncomfortable, too! And they had to stay in that sauna for hours -- vs a few minutes.) Finally I just helped myself as best possible, which wasn't very well. Was trying to get out of there. Just became more unbearable by the minute. And zero customer service relief in sight. Needed the specific screws, nuts, washers -- for a rollator, to be able to ambulate. They didn't fit. (I had brought the functional pieces for comparison.) This place was so miserable I won't even return to exchange the parts. Went to another chain hardware store in the area. Much more pleasant -- and less RISKY -- experience from a heat perspective. And guess what, staff were friendly, helpful, went out of their way to assure the problem was satisfactorily solved. The specific fastener expert probably spent about a half hour trying to get the correct pieces together. He did not allow himself to be distracted. Heads up to Home Depot mgmt: we all appreciate that COVID has made budgets tight and AC (in Virginia!) is expensive. Please note: you have customers with health problems or geriatric customers. We don't do well with that kind of heat and will not be able to patronize such stores. And your employees are clearly suffering as well. read more

We stopped by this Home Depot at about 8:30pm on a Friday night before going home and after getting dinner. We needed to find a screw to fix an appliance at home. We brought it and the broken screw for size reference. Unfortunately, none of the sales staff were willing to help. I asked around several different people and they all, evidently, did not seem to want to work. Granted, it's a Friday night and an hour and a half until closing---but still dissapointed. My father an I roamed the store for about 45 minutes to an hour trying to find what we needed. At 9:45ish we left without finding what we needed--either they were out of stock of the screw we needed or did not carry the item. Either way a dissapointing and exhausting experience. read more

I live right across the street from this Home Depot so go there often for everything I need. I was looking for an electronic pet door for my 3 dogs to let themselves out and HD had the best price for the HighTech Pet model. Purchased, hired a handyman to install it, bought some insulation at HD to make the fit tighter, ordered extra (expensive) electronic collars for the dogs, etc. Well I hated the door. It is not a tight seal, it doesn't lock properly so I didn't feel secure, it opened sometimes for the dogs, sometimes not, so it was hard to train the dogs. They still think they need me to come down and help them. I emailed the mfr to express my unhappiness and they said I'd have to return it where I bought it. But I had already thrown away the box, the paperwork and all the packaging so I went into HD to ask if they would accept the return. Shona was the rep at the returns center and she bent over to backwards to figure out how I could return this. It was a special order (which I didn't know) so it was as simple as saying, sure bring it in without a box. So she contacted a division of HD that deals with these types of things - scheduled to have them pick it up at my house and bring a box that would work, then a full refund would be issued. So it isn't finalized yet, but I feel confident she took care of everything perfectly and that I'll receive my full refund. Thank you, Shona ... great service. I just reviewed Lowes the other day and I said that I prefer it only because it is closer to my house. I've changed my mind. I prefer Home Depot. The staff is friendlier. A nice employee helped me find more floor registers when there was only two one the shelf (one of which was damaged). The selection of items is better - floor tiles, organic vegetables, bathroom vanities, floor registers. Self check-out is the same as Lowes. Subject Free installation is A SCAM and the material usage is absurd! I was looking for some new wall-to-wall carpeting and I stopped at the Home Depot. Big incentive free installation. All reasonable furniture will be moved for installation. What A SCAM!!! The salesman helped me out! Price is decent for the quality. However I had to paid $35 to have my rug areas measured. Got the estimate, I need 500 ft.² but it's gonna require 650 ft.² of material! That's 150 feet of wasted material that I'm paying for? No way ridiculous. Now the most crazy part! The up charges! As far as the up charges, wait to hear this!!! It's supposedly free installation and they'll move all reasonable furniture however they're going to charge me $75 to move my entertainment center which is a TV on the stand ! The bed has to be dismantled and the dresser where a small TV is on Has to be disassembled that's another $75 for a total of $225 ! Totally absurd it's a SCAM!!! I am shocked that they would find a bed to be unreasonable in a bedroom and a dresser. Ridiculous absurdity. I would stay away from these scammers and will be looking somewhere else.for what I need.
