I am revising my 5 star review after waiting since 4pm for a curbside pickup of mulch and compost. It is now 5pm. I saw the items sitting on a cart by the front door and several customer service employees with no customers at their registers playing on their phones. I called the number on the sign and was told the order would be brought out in 5 minutes. That was 30 minutes ago. I called again and asked for a manager and no one picked up. The customer service associate said she didn't think there was a manager working today (Friday July 31st). read more

Yesterday, I purchased a new hot water tank because mine jumped off a cliff. I selected a unit, took a picture of the sku, and went to customer service to pay for it. I requested that they deliver it and they agreed to do so the next day. I received a phone call in advance, which was nice. The truck showed up, and they placed the heavy hot water tank in my garage. I then asked for them to move it to the basement, which was basically the reason I paid for delivery. But I was told that they're not allowed to move hot water tanks into houses. They packed up and left. I was disappointed because I paid for delivery and I should be able to say where to place the unit. Instead, I had to get my family together to slide the thing down the steps, which was fun, let me tell you. Next day delivery was nice, but they should allow the homeowner to dictate where it goes, within reason. read more

We recently purchased a GE Refrigerator/Freezer from Home Depot (4066 Medina Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333) which came with Free Delivery and Installation. Delivery and Installation was a joke. All that was done was to carry the appliance into the house and plug it in. The refrigerator was brought in as it was shipped by the manufacturer. This means that they did not install handles or shelving which was shoved inside the refrigerator in boxes. They would not install the water line because our shut off valve was not immediately behind the refrigerator. We called a plumber out and he thought this was crazy because we had a setup with a shutoff valve right below the refrigerator in the basement which he indicated was to code. He advised doing nothing and we should simply hook the waterline into the new refrigerator ourselves. The 4 refrigerator doors were totally covered with a blue protective film which was also tucked into the seams so it could not be removed cleanly. When I asked the delivery man about the protective film, his response was "do you expect me to spend my day peeling this off". My wife and I spent hours over 2 days trying to remove the film but are still left with blue film around the edges which we can't get totally out. If you look at the Home Depot website, they have a picture of delivery men carrying in a refrigerator very similar to ours that that has handles installed and no protective film on the appliance - FALSE ADVERTISING! Lately I don't know what's been going on at Home Depot. I have been visiting hardware stores on a pretty consistent basis lately. Like millions of other Americans that are working from home and noticing every single project that needs to be taken care of in their home. Sometimes it's been pretty busy and of course we have to dress ourselves with patience and understanding. This visit in particular the store was practically empty. After I went into search mode walking up and down the aisles getting my steps in, I felt that I needed help and a life line. So I looked for a Home Depot employee. I spotted one and politely walked close to her (6-feet distance) and asked her if she was available to help me. She looked at me at first as if I just landed from another planet and forcibly stated yes I can help. I was looking for furniture feet/stands. She had no idea, as she walked away I felt that she was going for help, she did not. So frustrated I just walked away and walked around some more. After a long while I found an employee on a short step ladder. I stated that she did not have to step down but if she could point the way. She took it upon herself to try to help. Because of this particular employee I gave them 3 stars instead of 1. Although I did not find what I needed, she definitely went the extra mile. Also just to clarify a woodworking store I had recently visited stated that Home Depot had items that could be used for my project. They do not, only on line. read more

Do not purchase large appliances from Home Depot. If the appliance ends being a lemon and happens after the fist 48 hours of delivery, you are we out of luck my friend. Home Depot will not help you at all and the manufacturer's they work with will not help either. $800 washing machine that was 2 days old has a bad circuit board and will not spin the water out of the cloths. I now have to look for a new washing machine and spend even more money. Home Depot, this is not the time to treat loyal customers badly. read more

1 pm Friday 5/3 - looked around for several minutes for someone to help us. When I finally found someone she said she would find someone else to help us. She did not. I got back out to find someone. Finally I found two people strolling down the aisle chatting it up. Asked for help and they looked at me like I'm some kind of piece of crap. My mom began to ask questions about the purchase she was hoping to make, and the employee had a smart ass response to everything. Somebody needs to come to Fairlawn and train these folks. Desperately. Because these people are not functioning well. read more

Items were on hold for us after another store called for a stock check. The items were at customer service as promised and the staff was very friendly. This was our 4th Home Depot of the day so we didn't browse around the store and see how the department people were... but the service desk was great. Parking lot has some challenges. The easiest plan of attack is to make a right hand turn after coming down what looks like an access road filled with restaurants and then use the side entrance closest to the contractor services. Crossing traffic makes it a challenge to get back out the way you came in... so exit the other side of the shopping center and try and get back to the main road from there. read more

On May 20, 2022 at approximately 6:30pm I went to the Fairlawn Home Depot store (4066 Medina Road - Fairlawn, OH 44333) to purchase 10 bags of mulch. There were 3 gentlemen standing in the Garden Center talking and told me to go to the cashier and pay for the mulch, then pull around to the back to pick it up. I went to the cashier but was told that I would have to load the mulch myself because there was no one available to load my mulch.  For your information, I am a senior citizen lady who is not able to lift 10 bags of mulch. There was another elderly lady in line who told me she would try and help me load the mulch, but I refused because she was even older than myself.  The store doesn't close until 10:00pm and my opinion is that this is unacceptable customer service.  Also, this was the only reason I went to Home Depot to get mulch, therefore not only was this a wasted trip. but wasted gas at $4.45/gallon.  The cashier told me to try coming back Saturday morning and there "should" be someone there to load my vehicle.  Not acceptable ! read more

The store inventory is very low and it is very low on staff. Asked for someone to page for help in the lumber area. Nobody showed up and after walking around for 15 minutes trying to find someone in the aisles, I gave up. I think the store is ready to go out of business. DO NOT BUY COUNTERTOPS FROM THIS COMPANY!! In Dec of 2015 we had almost $10,000 worth of quartz countertops installed in our kitchen, the countertops were purchased through Home Depot and installed by Stoneworks. They were beautiful at first, but within the first year a crack appeared in our island piece and grew steadily. Since we were almost at our year warranty we fought with the company to have someone come out and look at it, it took months and the crack grew and grew. They eventually decided to replace our island for us. On the morning of the new install, after they had already removed the old island they informed us that they were installing three pieces with two seams instead of the single large cut quartz we had before. We told them that wasn't what we wanted but they insisted that was absolutely how it had to be done! Within TWO WEEKS of the new island installation the seam had come loose and the entire slab of quartz was moving away from the other pieces. We hosted a party at our house with our island, a main gathering place, looking like shit, and we made sure all of our guest knew who had done the work. At this point all three sections are seamless and balancing on the countertop. Home Depot refuses to replace or fix the problem. The color of quartz that we purchased is a Home Depot exclusive so we can't even pay another company to come out and replace it as one slab as it should be! We have reported the Home Depot to the BBB, along with Stoneworks who supplies their countertops. BUYERS BEWARE! This company does not stand behind their product!! Would NOT buy carpet from this Home Depot. My carpet is literally delaminating in front of me. I have been in contact with the "customer service" person about this for over 8 months now. I have had to battle to have an independent inspector come out to inspect my carpet, then when that finally happened I had to go through months of headaches and 5 visits from installers (who would time after time show up at my door after I had to take a day off of work) only to tell me they didn't have the right equipment and leave. I repeatedly leave messages and never hear back from anyone. Please beware!!! It is crappy carpet and they do NOT back it with the warranty like they lead you to believe when you purchase it. Go somewhere else and save yourself a ton of headache and trouble!!! read more
