It's pretty much the same as any other Home Depot you will go to. Customer service is only mediocre because half the people are super helpful and friendly while the other half just wanna get through the day and don't really care. The help buttons are useless because the store is usually understaffed so it's nearly impossible to get someone to help you because there's just no one there. Like all retail stores, when they can't make their numbers they just cut workers' hours which leaves to even less sales. All the associates are only trained in their own departments so hence the famous "not my department" line. I still like going here because they have mostly everything you will need but I'd say do some research on what you need before you go in so you know exactly what you're looking for. Then just tell them what you need and have them take you there. Gotta say that Penny in hardware is super sweet and always very helpful. She's one of the few reasons I still come here and maybe the reason this place for a 3 star review from me. read more

Went to one of the workshops they have scheduled - edible garden beds at this location. Asked someone at the cashiers when I walked in about where I should go for the workshop and was immediately told that they only have workshops on the first Saturday of the month. I was left confused and upset having come out here just to attend this workshop. She then asked another employee about it and she also said there were no workshops going on today. Was never asked what kind of workshop I was attending or anything. Just completely shut me down and that was that. After looking up my email and confirming I was right, I asked the second employee again and she says "oh yes it's in the back" overall took 15 minutes just to figure that out. The workshop itself didn't start until 30 minutes after the advertised time, but I guess it was a good thing since I was late anyway but prob not a good thing for the other people who've been waiting there on time. The employee who led the workshop was very nice and sweet and I learned a few things from her but the workshop itself lasted only 30 minutes. Are there not any guidelines or training given to the employees who are leading the workshop? Because it didn't seem like it. I was under the impression that the workshop would be more informative and last an hour and a half as advertised. We took a group picture for them to post on their twitter but who cares about the nice smiling faces on social media when you have a poorly organized event with bad customer service. What's the point of these things when I can learn more on YouTube and not have to deal with rude employees. Tried to complain in person but the supervisor was taking too long to come, but I guess that's a good thing because now I can let people know here online. Management needs to do something because nobody likes shopping at a place like this. Give more support and training to your employees. He tells me the saw is out of order and he can't help me.i ask to speak to the manager Mr Asm....bad attitude...he tells me I can't do anything about it....PS this is after I call the store ask them if I can get the product, can I get it cut and inquire about closing time. The response was yes to all....I drive 20 min and find the store saw is "Out Of Order".....very disappointed !!!!! This is like a surgeon without his scalpel.... It sucks! I would give them 0, if I could. I ordered the security door installation at Flushing Store, the tag is measure cost $35, installation cost $120 and whatever cost the door you choose. The guy measured, and got back with custom size 29x81. that will cost me much more and take much long to install. But my door is standard size, I knew it because I bought entry door last year from Home Depot. After many calls, the guy came back and correct the measure. Then the game started. I came to Home depot to select the security door and pay for the installation. First there is pick up fee $75 which never mentioned at beginning. Then correct measure is not in there system. The rep asked me to call the installation manage, but this guy never answer the calls, I left several messages, he never call me back. I try to contact store manager, can't go through either. I wrote e-mail on Home depot website, and service rep contacted me. And eventually the store installation manager contact me. This time, I need to pay additional $120 to install the security door, so instead of original $120 (installation) + $35 ( measurement), now it become $120 (installation) + $35 ( measurement) + $75 ( product pickup ) + $120 ( old molding removal). I told him forget about the project. After more a month headache, I had enough. The home service rep offered me $75 store credit if I stick with the installation, I refused that. I still like home depot's product, the installation service just doesn't work. It is good idea to offer it, but they just don't have right staff to make it work at this store. read more

This home depot is the worst one i have never met before. Yesterday i just wanted to shop some gardenings there. And i parked in their park lot. But my baby just has a fever. So i went to a clinic first and then came back to shop. After shopping,i cannot find my car. The home depot worker said they reported the tow company towed my car before i went out for clinic with my baby. And that person is awful. He asked me 300 usd cash and then reduced to 265usd cash and the 165usd cash and at last 136 usd cash and at last i called 911. He changed all his words and let me go to an illegalily tow company also want cash. They said there is a bank nearby. And they are really rude i have never met before. And at last they got my bag and dared my baby as i cannot speak english well(i am a Chinese), they also damaged my car when i get my car back from them. I went to this location to return items bought from another Home Depot because items were sitting in my car and i happen to pass here. Well the return line was unusually long (15 deep on a Thursday night). THe clerk said I can only return them to the store bought. WTF..not like I didnt have receipt or items were bought long ago. The clerk was being a lazy sack of sh*t and wanted to shorten the line fast. The layout of the store is quite stupid as the entrance is buried in a far corner blocked by their plants so what happens is customers unfamiliar with the store walk thru the exit making it difficult for customers with large purchases to get out of the store in an efficient manner. Exiting the store is like getting off a subway during rush hour because you're fighting people going the opposite direction. Avoid this location and go to other closeby locations. read more

I went in to purchase some heavy duty wall mount and some disposable mattress cover for moving. The first store associate that I inquired about where I can find the items I was searching for gave me a bunch of aisles to check which is fine is the store was 4x4...alas Home Depot is MUCH larger than 4x4 and I did not find my items. However, upon pausing at the lighting section I asked another store associate (tall slim black guy with glasses that I didn't recall his name but nicest store associate at that Home Depot for sure) and he walked me personally to the aisles where they would be. When they couldn't be located he continued to help me search for the items until I have found them. If they could accept tips I would have definitely at least tipped him a 10 for his services and knowledge of the store. Now that is what I call customer service... read more

There service here is last to none. I went there with a bolt and screw for my washing machine and needed some help finding a replacement. I walked up to a guy who worked there and asked for some assistance. He was talking with another guy who worked there and said for me to wait a minute and he would be right with me. I waited and waited and waited while they had a conversation about who knows what. After 10 minutes I went to another isle and found an employee there who came into the other guys section and helped me. Home Depot has a good selection but there customer service is a hit or miss. Listen to the other reviewers; this location hires hostile, unhelpful, condescending people that can barely be identified as employees. I simply wanted an estimated date for my special delivery and was given three different dates by three different staff members (first when I called in on Wednesday, second left via voice mail, and third calling in on Friday). When I called in the last time, the representative of the Flooring Department (October 2nd) was belligerent when I asked for her to be clear about the information she was giving me (because she sounded like she had no idea what she was talking about). In the end, the employee claimed that she had already answered my questions when I tried to inquire about the estimated date she gave me in the beginning of the call, to which I pleaded to speak to a different representative, when she simply hung up on me. Overall, incredibly unprofessional and disorganized staff. Don't bother calling them. They won't help you and won't transfer you to a different representative when they become flustered. I wish I could give 0 stars for my visit of today. My husband needed knee pads because of his work. When we got to the section it was a mess and all the pads and belts for materials were everywhere. He started trying some on and putting them back were they were. This employee, white male ,old man named Bob comes after us and says that my husband made a mess and that he knew it was him cause he was watching us. So instead of asking us if we needed help finding something and offering good customer service he decided to just stand there and watch as my husband went through the knee pads until he found one that was comfortable enough. We just ignore him and walk away. Then we go around the same section and he continues following us and staring at us and I ask him if there is a problem and why does he have to follow us if theres cameras all over the place. He responds with " I know" . I ask him well do you want us to go pick up the knee pads and he says"well I already did it" well no shit thats your job , if he probably wouldve helped us and the other people that made that mess he probably wouldve not have to clean up a mess. But instead he just wants to stand and stare and complain that we made a mess when we did not. And he kept following us until we paid for the items we were holding. I personally feel he was being racist and No one ever made me feel that way. My husband and I are hispanic , we even had our daughter with us and he kept on giving her a stank eye. My husband got fed up with him following us and he went up to Bob and said "do you got a problem? Can you stop staring at us were not doing anything. You want to keep your job right?" I wasnt close enought to hear what bob responded. I still think he was racist. My family and friends of friends have been coming to this home depot for years ,more than 20+years its sad to have to experience this . I ordered an LG all-in-one washer/dryer from this Home Depot and while I have no complaints about the machine...the delivery left MUCH to be desired, is it unfair to hole Home Depot responsible for this? I don't think so as the delivery company is supposed to be an extension of their service...while I have NO COMPLAINTS about the machine I feel I must warn you about the delivery and installation or rather LACK THEREOF on the part of Home Depot.... While the Home Depot website claims they will do the basic installation which includes the drain and supply hoses, the delivery people REFUSED to do it, citing that since the hook up was under my sink, they didn't have to, nor would they, touch it, no where on the home depot website does NOT mention this, citing only that the hookup must be no more than 6ft from the machine(all told my hookup was/is 47 inches from the intended spot of the machine). so beware....while the machine is EXCELLENT don't expect the delivery company to hook it up, no matter WHAT the home depot says, I would also like to point out that during the "review" process on home depot's website they do not allow you to post anything negative about delivery or customer service issues, only about the item, I feel we should be allowed to write about the entire process as it is part of the purchase, which is why I am so happy there are places like Yelp, where we can post the truth about the entire transaction! . read more

We've had several home improvement projects completed by this Home Depot (siding, new roof) and just recently new entrance and security doors. During the last two projects which occurred this year, we have noticed a decline in both customer service from this location and poor contractors that do the work. The company that did the roofing left nails all over the property despite the promise they would clean the location after the work is completed. My husband had to pick them all up one by one for fear our dog and children would get injured. One of the laborers vomited in our fire pit and left the evidence there. When we reported it, we were just told the staff member was sick and that they were sorry. The door department required that we constantly follow up to get the work done even after we paid the required $35 for the measurements. It took almost a month to get these measurements and that was after diligent follow up by us (the paying customers). When we finally got them, the staff member, Sergio was extremely rude and constantly gave us different pieces of information. We initially placed an order for 4 doors to be replaced. After making multiple calls to Sergio, we were then told only 3 doors could be replaced by the contractor. When we questioned the reasons why, he could not explain why and just gave us the number to have us call the contractor directly. Not sure what the purpose of a third party is for if the customer is expected to do all the work. When we went to the store to pick out the 3 doors, Sergio then insists he had only informed us 2 doors could be replaced. We finally had to request the assistance of the store manager. Juan from this department ended up assisting us with the 3 doors. He is great and if you still chose to use this Home Depot for any work, we suggest you request him only. read more

a good place for those last minute projects. as a Local Union #3 IBEW electrician it always scares me when I'm in the electrical aisle and homeowners are doing their own electrical projects. the stupid dangerous questions they ask. I was schedule for a delivery Friday April 22nd. I took the morning off to receive the delivery and nobody even bother to call me to give me any update or information about the status of my order. I finally called the store around 11 am to get bounce around from one department to another and finally spoke with a rep name Antione. He promised to check the status of my order and call me back. As of the writing of this email, April 26 almost 10 PM I still haven't heard from Antione. Saturday morning I called to form a complaint and request delivery again. I was promised it would be delivered today, the 26th, again taking time off from work to receive it and again, no call, no information, nothing. I'm left wondering and asking my wife are you sure we purchase this from HOMEDEPOT? They are not treating us like this is major and reputable company. I feel like I'm dealing with a 2 chain nobody cause I can't comprehend how a brand name company with your reputation would treat a customer this way, INSANE~INCOMPETENT~UNPROFESSIONAL. Home Depot will call the police on you if you mistakenly drop an item in your shopping cart without paying for it, even if you have just spent over hundreds of dollars in the same transaction. That is what happened to my friend who doesn't speak English well. He just bought a whole load of supplies but the cashier didn't catch one item. Instead of treating this like a simple mistake, one of the employee's called the police. The police asked if the item was found in the shopping cart or his pocket. The employee admitted it was found in the shopping cart and pushed for the arrest. The police wouldn't arrest but gave him a ticket instead. My friend just bought hundreds of dollars worth of stuff on that trip and they call the police for one little item that their cashier missed!!! Home Depot wouldn't even give him the chance to pay for it. This happened at the location in College Point, but you should know because it's an indication of something very wrong with their whole organization. read more

I've had very bad experience with a specific worker by the name of "Greg asm" very rude and disgusting and very disrespectful. I've been a long term customer at this Home Depot and wasn't expected to be treated like a non human being especially by a manager. Because of this worker I feel very disrespected and would probably never want to come back into this Home Depot again. I parked my car at the Home Depot parking lot and returned a purchased item that I purchased. Went quickly to get some coffee due to the extreme weathers and coming back outside seeing my car was tolled. I went inside and asked for the manager "Greg" and he came to me and was very rude and aggressive showed no respect towards a customer and didn't want to listen to me at all. They came back up to me and asked me to give them $150 to get my car back I refused and they were more aggressive and took my vehicle to the station. I went down to the station and the owner said it will cost me $110 to take back my vehicle. Due to the numbers this doesn't make sense. But we can come to a conclusion that the Home Depot manager and the tow truck driver make a split profit. By raising the price of the towing. They are purposely waiting and looking at people and taking their vehicles and trying to make a business out of it. Recently the past two months I've spent over $40,000 at this specific Home Depot and especially to that fact I should have not been treated like trash. The Home Depot hiring team should review their employees resumes before hiring them. Please take this into consideration. I highly recommend the other manager David. I purchased an over the range microwave, delivery, installation and haul away. When the workers came, they said they cannot take down the microwave. NEVER ever take delivery if they can't complete installation; do not sign for it, make the workers take it with them. We took delivery and they never showed up to install it after we took down the existing microwave ourselves with little effort and rescheduled (second appointment). After multiple calls to Home Delivery America, GE and Home Depot, emails and multiple trips to this store, I FINALLY received a refund for the services I didn't receive. Trista, from Home Depot Customer Care, was a great help in contacting the store. At the store, Jasmine was really nice and very understanding; she processed the refund of services. She should be store manager instead of Gregg. I will be going to Lowe's to see if they can complete installation; I will not be returning to Home Depot. read more

Clearly HOME DEPOT FLUSHING LOCATION needs higher corporate management to step in a "clean house". I've never had issues with aisle sales associates, but I experienced bad service tonight...from what seems to be an unhappy miserable person in special services (aka the area where people go for online pick-ups). I went up there...I wasn't even acknowledged up until 5 min (since she was talking to another co-worker). When she sees me I start by saying, "Hi, I have a problem, which I hope you can help me with". She says, "okay, but I don't think I'll be able to do anything". She starts to listen to me and bats her lashes like someone who is being inconvenienced. I say, "I'm sorry, am I confusing you?" and she responds "no" with attitude. I respond, "My transaction was in Jericho, but I came here because it was closer, but I can then just go back there". She responds, "Do what you must". Now, how the heck would any of you clients feel with that kind of reception and treatment. So I drove back to Jericho, where there!, they know how to treat people - with respect, a smile and a willingness/enthusiasm to help..and I was taken care of well! I will keep just then sending my business (which by the way was almost $11K) at the Jericho location because the FLUSHING LOCATION SUCKS! Whether you spend $1 or over $10K, that associate should get reprimanded. I tried calling for a manager, but got no where. Oh well, you live and learn. So folks spare yourself messed up treatment and go to ANY OTHER HOME DEPOT LOCATION. read more
