I purchased windows from them with a lifetime warranty. years later I went back to them due to a window crank broke and I was want replacement under the lifetime warrant. They told me they would not help and called the vendor who said that due to the crank was no longer available, we voided the warrant. after this Home Depot was no help. also called there corporate office which also no solution. So now I have a window with a lifetime warranty and a hold in it and no help from Home Depot. So much for there lifetime warranty read more

This review is for a phone call I had with staff from this store. I actually placed an order for a large appliance online and it came broken. A phone call to customer service later and the replacement part was supposedly sent our way. A month later and nothing came so I decided to call again. This time customer service was not too keen in helping. Agent 1- "let me transfer you to the appropriate store" Agent 2- after having to tell her my problem again from the beginning she ask for the order number. I give her the confirmation number they gave me for the replacement part, Agent 2 says "hold on hold on hold on...our order number don't start with a P where you get that from? I cant do nothin' with dah. " To which I replied "i don't know how your company operates internally and i am not familiar with your procedures but this is the confirmation number your company's representative gave me for the replacement part". She swiftly transfer me to a long ringing station that no one answered. She pick up after about 40 rings later said "is this Monica?" I said "yes" she says "I am tryna transfer you hold on" more ringing. Agent 3- a male voice says "hello?" I retell my problem for the third time. He seems very confused, tells me to call extension something something. I am beyond frustrated he tells me he is on brake. And to call extension something something and ask for Sergio... I asked if he could transfer me. He said he can't he is on brake. read more

Here's a joke for you. How many men does it take to get flooring cut from the bulk rolls at Home Depot? Eight. Two people to show you where it's located, one person to direct you to someone at a table, one person at the table to ignore you for several minutes before directing you to an orange-aproned worker, four people to make seemingly pointless calls over the storewide intercom to get someone ELSE to come and help you, and then finally (after umpteen minutes of this senseless runaround), one person to finally come and help you get what you need. Coming here is nearly as enjoyable as a trip to the DMV. Men and women in orange aprons always seem to be running around busily, usually away from customers. Once you actually catch up to one of them and request some help with some items you need, they will hold an intercom machine over their lips, make a call over the loudspeaker for another associate to come and meet you in an aisle, and then send you on your merry way. If you're silly enough to return to that aisle, you'll find yourself twiddling your thumbs for awhile before realizing you were had. My fiancé and I were trying to get some flooring cut this week and just finding what we needed required us chasing down a few workers (did you know they walk really, really fast? It was like they saw me coming in their peripheral vision), and then once we found it, we had to undergo the aforementioned marathon to find someone to cut it off the bulk rolls for us. When the guy finally came along, he looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there and dragged his feet the entire time. In fact, my fiancé nearly had to find the price for him since he was so unwilling to walk the aisle and look at the tags for the right price. 10 square feet of Astroturf later, we were completely beat and I was as grumpy as a bear. Even the random candy in the checkout aisle did little to pick me up, as the prospect of sugar usually can. Being that this is the closest Home Depot in my neighborhood, I come here often and my experience is almost always some version of this. If you're coming here to pick up and purchase, by all means, come; this is a place conducive to self-service shopping. But if you need any help from any humans whatsoever, you'd be better off with another location or other large hardware store. read more

After running around the store looking for someone available to point me in the right direction, they finally pointed me into a general area, that being the wrong area, then after finding it myself. waiting on line for 20 minutes due to the super slow lines. YIKES YIKES YIKES took an hour and a bunch of different interactions to get multiples of not-the-item-i-wanted. what a shame. kudos to home depot as a corporation and their AWESOME awesome app. (did i mention I LOVE HOME DEPOT it makes me hard-wet-turned-on-all-of-the-above.) my app shows 11. that's ELEVEN of an item that was nowhere to be found. i scanned all of the adjacent aisles to the ceiling for stock via SKU but to no avail. the unenthusiastic (though not rude) lady (in a floor length skirt) came to help me after a stock staff member radioed twice for her. (we waited quite a while.) she brought over the stairway to heaven, and looked for it. (poor girl in her skirt. which made me feel very awkward. who wears flowy skirts to work at home depot?! she does!!!) she went through the motions but apologized and left. i let her. then proceeded to find a manager. couldn't find one, found a girl (jasmine?) and she was super sweet and super helpful and tried with us through a bunch of aisles. we wound up just attacking a box and taking a somewhat similar product, however it was not what we were looking for. better luck next time. read more

I ordered something online for pickup. When I got to the store, the customer service rep was very rude and did not know how to use their system. Technology is supposed to help you make things more effective if you know how to use it. It took them 40 minutes to get one item, which is ridiculous. He froze the system too and had to reboot it. He made me sign for my purchase twice...and now there are 2 charges on my credit card. Thanks for wasting my time and money. And since I was in the store for so long, some asshole hit my parked car in the parking lot. There's an enormous dent in my car. The employee in the parking lot just watched and let the guy get away. Management was useless too. After this experience, I refuse to shop at Home Depot every again. I'd rather go to Lowe's or any other hardware store. read more

I felt guilty as I did leave the Home Depot parking lot for a while and I had to pay them $136 to get my car back. I went to two Home Depot's yesterday - the one in College Point - no sales help told me they had no stock and the one in Flushing- sales person could not comprehend what I was saying and then ultimately said they didn't have it. I turned my head walked down the aisle and found the product. How does Home Depot stay in business? I can't wait for Lowe's to open. I will never go to Home Depot again once they open. read more

Very infuriating experience there on Saturday. Went there to purchase a Ryobi Tool on promotion which included a free tool. All the tools were locked on shelves near the Customer Service Area. There was no sales people around so I went to the service desk and was informed that I needed to find the employee with the key. There is only one and he works at the Hardware area. Why this person cannot be paged is beyond me. After several minutes of searching I found this person and told him what I wanted. He walked over to the shelves, instead of opening the six locks to get the tools this person just stood there and stared and read the promotional banner above the shelves. It took him 5 minutes. Then he proceeded to slowly open the six locks and retrieved the tools I wanted. but instead of handing them over to me he put them in a shopping cart behind him. He then slowly proceeded to put the six locks back on the shelves. At this point I asked if I could just take the tools and continue my shopping and the guy said no and continued putting the locks back on. I asked if I could skip watching him putting locks back on and just take the tools he said it was store policy that whatever he took out he must take them to the cashier even though I have not finished my shopping and if I didn't like it I can talk to management! Is this how Home Depot does business now and is this the way they treat the customers? You can buy these tools on line and shipping is included. At the very least go to a different location. This hardware guy with the key was simply discourteous and rude! read more

First off, its home Depot and not the Ritz. Even though I live near this one its by back up store to use. I go to the one by Roosevelt Mall. Its cleaner and nicer. Enough about that one. The store is not bad its just the lovely people of queens with no manners tend to rip open boxes to get what they need, so nothing if ever factory sealed. Last year I needed to fix my sprinkler system and I could not find any sprinkler parts. I went to ask for help and went to many people. I was told the manager doesn't think we need those parts to we don't have them. WTF!!! Every other store has them. Its also fun when you need to return something. The return desk will open the factory box just to see if you stole a part. Really, it was FACTORY SEALED, what could I have taken. I have seen this many times after return pasts I did not use after a project. Yet they still have everything you need for your home improvements so Keep on Keeping on. The best part of this store is when you see the planes fly over your head that are about to land. You can almost touch them. Thats Cool. read more

Fairly typical HD. Waiting in line can be annoying, and Flushing drivers can't drive/park so I usually park further away from the entrances. Store personnel are generally helpful, if one doesn't know the answer, try another. There's another HD nearby off Ulmer Street if you don't find what you want here in stock -- they can check their inventory at customer service. read more

I've been coming here for the past 10 years the customer service here is horrible all the younger staff go out of their way to not help you and show you products. They're just on their phones when you ask them for something they don't show you where it actually, just tell you a random Isle so you can leave them alone. Machine itself did not give any indication to employees that it needed service, so I had to raise my hand and look around. I come here so often. It isn't as horrible as it seems. Yes, there are tons of people here and most of them are construction workers. Yes, there are very few Home Depot workers to help all these people and me, the average josephine. Yes, the parking lot is a crazy mess of horrible drivers. It is a tough Home Depot to work with but I've always managed to find something similar to what I need if not exactly what I need and returns are not a big hassel. For anyone who makes purchases at this Home Depot; I purchased a smart outlet to work with my WiFi and when I made the purchase I got home to find out the product was not in the box; I went back 45 minutes after the purchase to get my money back at customer service and the representative told me to speak to the head cashier; I went to the head cashier and they told me to speak to customer service; as you can see I was now very aggregated but thankfully the greeter next to customer service had the representative refund it. Now to a purchase when my grandfather who is 89 years old and I am 39 and currently on dialysis was told by the delivery man who took forever to take the product out of the truck because he was constantly on the phone during a personal phone call brought the water heater to the backyard without bringing it into the basement because supposedly they do not carry product down stairs when we paid $100.50 to have it brought inside the house. Now we have a water heater sitting outside which is very unacceptable; if this were the case I would have just paid the $19.99 for the curbside delivery. My suggestion is if you have a delivery just pay the $19.99 because they are utterly useless. I called Home Depot and they only refunded $20 something which still doesn't make sense. read more

Took forever to find denatured alcohol but I found it in the paint thinner section. It was extremely difficult to locate a staffer. When I finally found one, he gave a real pissy attitude and kept insisting that many items found online are not available in stores. So I pulled out the phone the check the items availability and showed him. He didn't have a clue where to look until we stumbled upon another Home Depot employee and she didn't even know what and where it was. She kept asking why do I need it and tried to sell me another product. After wandering around the store for a few more minutes, I checked through the paint section, saw paint thinners and luckily enough, I found denatured alcohol tucked away up top. I saw a YouTube video on some guy cleaning his car's wiper blades and he suggested denatured alcohol so I gave it a shot and it worked pretty darn well. As long as your blades aren't falling apart and in desperate need of a new one. The denatured alcohol really cleans the dirt and grit off the blades with a microfiber towel. After cleaning the blades up to 4-5 times, my wiper blades no longer squeaked. I highly recommend cleaning your wiper blades from time to time for better visibility. read more

I live in the Bronx and wanted to purchase a grill. I decided on the Char Grill which got good reviews. Only my local Home Depot was out of stock. I went to this one in Queens on a Saturday and selected the grill I wanted which was already assembled. I purchased it. And paid extra for delivery. I was home the entire delivery day. No one showed up and neither did anyone call. Delivery was scheduled from 8am to 8pm. I called at 6:30pm and the rep told me I had up until 8pm to receive my delivery. If it wasn't delivered I would have to call back the next day. I called the next day and after being on hold for 10+ min was told they attempted delivery at 3:15pm. Which was a lie because I was on my front porch relaxing at the time. They gave me a rescheduled date for the upcoming Tuesday. It was delivered between 1:30- 2pm. A piece of it was not properly attached with screws inside which automatically let me know it was not the one I originally selected, but another that was put together. Also their was only one delivery person and he could not get it up my porch steps, so I had to put it in the garage for the meantime. I have to check to make sure all parts are included and it was assembled properly before i attempt to use it. This is the second time I had a bad experience dealing with a home depot. Im not giving them a third time. Im going to have to try smaller local hardware stores, or travel out my way to Loews. read more

Bought a commercial grade vacuum. Never opened it or used it bc it was too small. Returned it to HD on Avery Ave. The employee opened the box to find the vacuum had been used. The box had tape that clearly said "if this seal is broken inspect the contents". Seal was not broken or ever opened. Guy looks at us with an accusatory stare. Calls over manager. In the end they returned it... luckily I REALLY NEVER DID OPEN IT! However, imagine if I had... I would have had the pleasure of knowing I bought a used product that would probably not have been able to return and probably was defected since it was in the box - USED AND DIRTY. read more

If you are lucky enough to find one their response is always "I don't work in this section. Let me get someone else to help you" and no one ever returns. Don't hold your breath people!!! read more

Zero stars maybe? No such option on Yelp. This is (was?) my local store. Try as I might, and try as I might again, this store just can't or doesn't seem to care enough to get their customer service right. I've been coming to this Flushing store for at least 20 years and every time I go to this store, only a handful of workers know where anything is. And those that know where things are, are way too busy to help you. The other day I went to the nursery to ASK if they had any tomato plants. The young girl working at the nursery knew nothing about when, where or if they would have tomato plants in stock. This is not her fault. She is just doing her minimum wage job. She is placed in a position with one hand tied behind her back. I went looking for management and I found no one or anyone who knew where they might be. This is a busy store and they very well may have been busy. But this is ALWAYS the case when one is looking for help. Since I could not find anyone, I decided to call the store telephone number. The phone rang and rang and no one ever picked up. WAIT!!! IT GETS BETTER!!! Since the store did not answer the phone, I called the corporate office. I explained my dilema to the nice lady on the other end. She requested to put me on hold while she personally called management to get an answer to my tomato question. After at least five minutes of me being on hold, she returns and apologizes to me for keeping me on hold so long. It seems that THE STORE WAS NOT PICKING UP THE PHONE FOR HER EITHER. How embarrassing when the corporate office calls and no one picks up? I also explained to the nice lady that due to this service, or lack thereof, I have been frequenting LOWES for my home and garden needs. I still want to be loyal. pretty much the Queens equivalent of the Home Depot in Red Hook - large, messy, disorganized. you can find what you need if you look hard enough. prices are standard Home Depot prices. the worst part is navigating the area around to get to it. not that I have any issue with driving through Flushing, but all the roads leading into or out of this place look like they were improved by the New York City Department of Street Destruction. thank the maker for 4-wheel-drive on my SUV... the Home Depot in Glendale remains the one that shall get my business. read more

Not just this store. The whole HD experience is horrible. Bought around $1000 dollars Bali window shades in this store and they got messed up with our order but never call. We called the HD customer services and found that out because we didn't receive anything after the delivery date. We called many time in a week to see where our order is and every time they said that they would have someone to call us back to follow up but never did. And now they said we should call the vendor (Bali). Shouldn't you follow up with them since you took the money??? Still don't know where my order is today. read more

Came here specifically for a Christmas tree. There was a latter selection of beautiful trees all over the place. From potted ones to 9 feet tall! I got one that was about 5 feet for $26! Brought it up front and the employee took out the net and showed us how it looked like before we buy it. He then cut a piece of the bottom off and put another netting again. Process was fast and easy! After putting tree in trunk, we went back into the store to get some stuffs. Place is huge and seem to have endless supplies of stuffs. Needed something but of course could not find it so we flagged down someone. He didn't seem to know but hey he can't know everything in such a huge place but he was nice enough to get someone who could help us. read more

Okay..hear me out please. My wife and recently went to look at a double-hung window for a slight renovation of my mother-in-laws house. Easy right? We had all the measurements and wanted to place a simple order for a single window. I guess I thought Home Depot was the easy and fat place to go. Boy was I ever wrong. We walked into Home Depot--right to the window aisle. Found the correct area and started looking for someone to place the order. 5 minutes....10 minutes.....15 minutes went by. We walked to the front of the store and asked them to "page/call/wake-up" someone to come to that area. We walked back to the area and was greeted by someone who said he would help us but was unable to place the order. I asked him why he could not order and he said he was "filling in for lunch". I asked the guy we had all the specs and it would be an easy order and he replied "Listen....he has to eat sometime". What? I could not believe what I was hearing. I was a deer in headlights. Aside of wanting to smack the guy aside his fat head, my wife pulled me away and we walked to the front once again to ask for the store manager. About 5 mintes later, the manager arrived with the smiling ANUS from that area stating what could we help them with. I asked the manager why they had someone filling in for a break/lunch that could not place a simple single order. He did not reply and looked at the ANUS who replied "I gave them excellent service and did not know why they asked for the store manager". Not wanting to spend the night in Rikers, I grabbed my wife and drove right to CRYSTAL WINDOWS on College Point Blvd. 5 minutes later, we drove out of that parking lot with the order placed and VERY happy with the service there. Needless to say, we will NEVER set foot in a HOME DEPOT again. Period. read more
