My refrigerator went out last week, against better judgement let my husband take me from Lowe's to Home Depot where we paid 2000$ for a refrigerator it will take 5 days to be delivered. Today was the day after 5 days with no refrigerator finally the day has come. Wait it is only a hour left and haven't gotten any updates. Make a call and of course the truck broke down and now it will be three more days before it can be delivered. No thanks give me a refund I will go back to Lowe's who can deliver next day. Oh right it will take 10 days for you to get your money back. DON'T GO TO HOME DEPOT THEY DON'T CARE. I was looking for a specific model of outdoor photo-electric timer for my Christmas lights - and the only location to have this in stock was the Fredericksburg location. I purchased online and selected "curbside pickup." I then drove down to Fredericksburg, parked in one of the Curbside parking spots, cracked open the Home Depot app on my iPhone - and used the app to notify them I was here and which parking spot I was in. Not a very exciting shopping trip, as we only needed some garden soil and numbers for our mailbox -- but our experience at this Home Depot was excellent. The garden soil was on sale for only $2 for 0.75 cu ft. Even better, a young worker came right over to see if he could assist us, and didn't hesitate to load five big bags into our cart. WOW what a cluster. I honestly can't remember everything that has gone on. The most recent was going to the store and trying to find someone who works in the "flooring" department even though I was getting kitchen backsplash. Long story short I have spent at least 6 hours in that store and in the end I cancelled my two orders. The installer who has NEVER been to my house said I had lead in my house!! The person came to measure and I spoke to him and watched him the entire time he was here. Two different people, I even tracked him down again after I heard they wouldn't install b/c of lead in my house! He said it wasn't him and he doesn't and didn't do that. The measuring guy said I was tagged b/c my house was built in 1957. Mind you it is backsplash tile in the kitchen 22sq feet to replace tile that had been installed within the past 15 years! I could get NO where with the "assistant manager"who had me wait 25 mins. for him to come out and talk to me while I was waiting in the store. He was in no hurry.....stopped and chatted it up with the associates about 30 feet from me knowing I was waiting....I told him the "installer" has NEVER been to my house and I have never paid for the "installer" to come by my house and the kitchen has already been done several time!! OH well they don't give a flip. Who ever if anyone said that lied and it was probably b/c it was too small of a job even though the labor was over $1000. Live and learn. I even went to this Home Depot b/c the one closest to my house is dark and you can NEVER find anyone, I thought this one was better......NOPE Home Depot is horrible read more

Recently purchased appliances for my new home. The salesman said the gas range came with the conversion kit to use LP which was not only a lie but they dont even sell the conversion kit in the store. Worse yet, he knew I needed a counter depth fridge but sold us a standard depth since they didnt have any counter depth available, and now since the 48 hours passed (waiting on the plumbers to hook up appliances which fell over christmas so they were not on site for a week) they wont take it back or swap it out. Just left me stuck with a $2000 refrigerator that wont fit in the cabinet and a $1200 range that is useless until I order extra parts from some where else... what a joke of a business practice, worst experience ever with big box retail. Guess I will be heading to blue parking lots in the future and not orange ones. read more

So being at home I figured I would get my yard done. I order mulch with same day delivery. Took my money said it would be here today great! Umm NO! So because they didn't have a truck running (on line said they did) they switched to the Stafford story delivery next week. Call and say something? Nope it was through an email which I didn't approve of! Umm No, I need it this weekend to get this project done. So I called manger (she was a waste of time) call the hot line to find out I would have to call Stafford store to cancel. I suggested that I would get it from the store that I ordered it from and they could refund my fee of the delivery charge. Nope they have to refund the whole thing... well great so the bank doesn't let it go for 3-5 days so the project isn't getting done this week... thanks home depo... After talking to Pricilia on the phone from the call center... she saved a customer! She did have to cancel the order which means I won't get my money back but she did give us a discount to go to store and buy it again. read more

Has everything you need but hate ordering online & pick up at store. They don't bring your order to the car curbside as advertised, had to go inside & cart it out myself. They said they couldn't find what I ordered & it was too heavy so they just kept us waiting outside. Returns & pickups are always slow here. I just go, get what I need & leave from now on. Disappointing! Working with the millwork department at store#4660 to get a new sliding glass door. A whole series of issues, all resulting in having to pay several hundred dollars more then quoted. Nobody seems to know what's going on there. Stick to selling stuff and stay out of the install business. I cancelled my order. I guess we will wait and see how long it takes to get my refund so I can go get the same door at one of your competitors. read more

Every time we go here the customer service is just awful. We waited in line to check out in the garden section for at least 15 minutes, only for the associate in the line we were in to rudely tell us to leave and go to the back of the other line because they had to leave. This used to be a great location, but it's changed - customer service has been thrown out of the window. read more

After another four phone calls I'm still waiting to be refunded $1400 for the appliances that I was stood up (with no phone call on a three hour delivery window) twice. I called the order over a month ago. I've spent at least six hours on the phone over this. I will NEVER, EVER do business with home Depot again. I'm a young homeowner with two kids. This company will not receive another dime from me as long as I'm breathing. If the world was flooded in sewage and the only place selling stilts was home Depot I still wouldn't buy from this company Lowe's, while far from perfect, at least keeps their promises and addresses issues in a timely and reasonable manner. Customer service is always good. Knowledgeable staff in multiple departments. So many people complaining on here about stuff that isnt even directly related to this location or that the store even has control over. Appliance deliveries.... it is a vendor that home depot uses nationally. So yes... this regions contracted vendor needs drastic improvements, stop blaming the store for things they are just as annoyed about as you are. Home depot isnt holding refunds hostage. It is your bank. Have you ever gotten a refund ANYWHERE that posted back to your credit card immediately?? The employees at this location work really hard with handling hundreds of orders and trying to problem solve things daily. Whether it is special orders delivery times getting pushed back bc of either shipping carrier or venders delaying, special orders getting damaged in transit, or FSA the appliance vendor, keeping them on hold on the phone for over 2 hours per customer order to try and resolve issues, as well as appliance manufacturer phone tag. A lot of times customers come in after "business hours" or during the weekend trying to get a resolution immediately when the vendors arent even open to contact them to problem solve as quickly as possible. Kudos to all the hard working staff at the harrison crossing location. You all dont get enough credit for all you do. read more

Everytime we go to home depot to get wood at Spotsylvania's store and ask to have wood cut the associates are more than willing. They also do a fine job cutting. The paint department is great too. Tools and hardware associates are very knowledgable. We also love the location eliminating the drive down route 3 past the mall. read more

Home Depot has taken such a hit lately, thought I'd give them a rave.... This concerns a project undertaken with their vinyl privacy lattices + corner and linking accessories. I used the lattices unconventionally -- cut diagonally their full length (to fit the lay of the land), and used them for skirting beneath the lower veranda of our lodge. I first trenched a 3" deept slot for the full length and sides of the veranda, settled in the lattices, and attached them along the top rails with around 100 stainless steel screws. Beauty is, since they're heavy vinyl, they never will rot (as does the wood product). The trenching gives them excellent lateral support. read more

I went to look at refrigerators. Mine broke and I needed a replacement as soon as possible. When I entered the department an employee was working with a customer and told me there was another woman working who was around somewhere and someone would assist me soon. After a few minutes I saw another woman from the back but since she did not approach me and offer assistance, I assumed she was another customer. I waited about 15 minutes and then decided to leave. As I was leaving that section, I saw that same woman sitting at the employee table so she was there and just ignored me. I contacted a store manager to let them know why I was going to go elsewhere to spend my money and the response I got was an invitation to 'give them another try' and 'sorry'. VETERANS BEWARE! I came in today, picking up a few items I needed for the weekend. As I checked out I showed the young lady my VA Id card as always and she denied my picture Id card discount, telling me my card had to say service related. I ask her to look again and explained the words under my name,(purple heart) meant my card was issued due to a service related injury. She explained that didnt matter to her I still needed the words service related printed on rhe card. I took my inquiry to Denise the manager and she told me the same thing. So I guess if your a Veteran and want your military discount, I would respectfully recommend you go to Lowes and show your card for your discount. I tried to explain to the sales people it isnt the ten percent savings as much as its the recognition of the person who served, and the commitment home depot made to them. Im sorry to say that seemed to carry absolutely no weight with them what so ever. I didn't spend any time shopping there, but the service was outstanding for what I did do. It was really hard to find patio heaters in Northern VA - all stores sold out of all different types. Found 1 in stock in Fredericksburg. It's more than an hr drive for me so I wanted to be sure it would be there so I called, assuming no one would really care. I spoke to a nice lady in the Garden center who put it on hold for me at customer service. When I arrived Latesha was very helpful and didn't make me feel like an idiot for not considering that this wasn't going to be in a box but, rather, super tall and needed to fit into my car assembled. She called Darryl to try to find a way to fit it in my car. Darryl and Latesha both had great attitudes and went out of their way to help me. Darryl unscrewed the middle so we could at least make it half the height, Latesha made sure the screws were safely in a bag for me and they both managed to get it in my car (along with some other nice guy that I didn't get his name). When I tried to tip them, they refused. This was in sharp contrast to the service I usually get at my own store. I was very impressed. I don't live there and probably won't go again, but I wish they worked in NOVA ... I'd go out of my way a bit for that level of service. Kudos to Latesha and Darryl! read more

Do not buy appliances from Home Depot. We ordered a dishwasher on Aug. 31 and it arrived during the first week of October. The personnel who delivered the dishwasher told us they couldn't install it and Home Deport would have to call a plumber. We called Home Deport and they advised us that this would be included in the installation fee. It took two weeks and many calls to the 877 number to get a plumber's appointment. The plumbers told us they would not install the dishwasher unless we paid over $300 for an extra valve. We were surprised since we installed a dishwasher five years ago and we had no problems. We wanted to cancel the contract but then we learned about the 48-hour cancellation policy. I repeat, do not buy appliances from Home Depot since they take many weeks to deliver their appliances. By the time the customer finds out something is seriously wrong, Home Deport will cite the 48 hour cancellation policy to get out of doing anything. read more

Very few times do I come in here and get the help I need. I even had 3 people straight up ignore me when I needed help (well one pointed to aisle and said he thinks what I'm looking for is down that aisle..) and one saw a friend and helped him out and turned his back on us as we were asking for help. Asked a lady helping with self check out of desperation and she .. guess what? Completely ignored me, walked around me, and checked others out. Talked to a lady in the paint section, she was super condescending and told me the paint I bought at Lowe's was not for the purpose I bought it for.. even when the can deliberately says it on does (we needed something similar and HD was the closest place at the moment). To top it off a worker there told me lumens was another language that she didn't know (it's honestly just a measure of light). I've only found one person really helpful. But frankly, most of the workers there are probably underpaid, unhappy, and not very competent. It shows. read more

I just got off the phone with one of your managers at the Spotsylvania Virginia Home Depot. We talked about how my family picked out a tile paid for installation and when the installer came out there wasn't enough tile to finish the job because it was a herringbone pattern and you can't use the scrapes because of the pattern . We called in to order more when he ran out and customer service said it was discontinued and there isn't anymore time . So we asked the installer to wait until we picked up the new till that Home Depot picked out because it was enough boxes to do the job. We had to put something up because the wall got messed up because he had to take down all the tile he put up . Now we have a tile up that we didn't really like but we didn't want a tore up kitchen in a brand new home . I called for compensation and the manager said your tile was an upgrade your old tile was 4 dollars a sheet and the new tile was 5 dollars a sheet. There was 5 boxes ordered so I'm guessing there was a total of 34 dollars extra spent to put up the new tile . She then turned around and said that if the tile wasn't discontinued we would have just ordered more tile and had you wait to get the rest installed and not compensated you . And I then asked why would I not get compensated for a job not completed like it should have been . We kept talking over each other and I had to end the conversation because he became a he say she say because she says they worked hard to get the installer to stay and I know for a fact that we asked the installer to stay and he said he doesn't have a job after this but he will call his boss and his boss said yes you can stay in front of us . I was on the phone with Home Depot and they couldn't have called the installer while I was on the phone with them explaining what was happening . I also received a call from Home Depot with someone saying the installer can not stay then I said yes he told me he could and will stay . I got the installer lunch for the inconvenience and he took the first tile down and installed the tile that Home Depot picked out. I don't know where customer service went but asking for compensation is the least she could have done for not being able to get our tile installed that we just ordered . She kept saying your tile is an upgrade ! 30 dollars more for a mix up is note an upgrade it's a slap in the face read more

Went in to get 3 things & left with nothing.We wanted a cute light switch cover for our little girls room & found none.Wanted cute knobs for her furniture & found very few to choose from & a black extension for gutters,there were none.Customer service is HORRIBLE here.We couldn't find a employee for a long time & when we did he saw us looking at him & coming towards him & he turned away & jetted off.Not one employee (when you did exactly see one) offered their help or even acknowledged us.Took my daughter to the family bathroom which was as bad as their service,it smelled,trash overflowing & no toilet paper.Will not be back! Do not buy countertops from Home Depot! I spent almost 10 grand on countertops that are filled with a dull resin. When you look at them they're mostly shiny and reflective and right in the middle of my peninsula there's multiple large dull spots. It's awful and looks dirty. Home Depot will Not help me. They say it is the "nature of the stone." That's BS! Everyone I know has beautiful shiny countertops. I have very expensive countertops that I am embarrassed by. Don't use Home Depot!! read more

Went to Home Depot yesterday to be told to come back at 10am the next day when someone in millwood would be working. I was in the store that day to pick up trim and molding yesterday and did not want to return the next day. Can't believe they turned away customers. Also, we were at the customer service desk checking out with 3 employees and asked for a manager and they immediately said manager was too busy so I walked over to the painting center where they called the manager immediately and the manager was not busy after spending 3 hours in Home Depot we finally were able to check out. Horrible experience at Penske portion of Home Depot! My husband walks in and makes reservations a week in advance! Not only is there no reservation, there is no truck available and the woman he talked to lied about talking to him!!! Scam much? So my husband and I had been on the prowl for a washer and dryer and decide to check out Home Depot. As always, the customer service was great. Well, maybe great is too inaccurate of a an explanation. See, when shopping for high dollar amount appliances, the sales person will ask if you would like for them to check the prices of other stores. Seems like a good deal, right? Well it's not! Home Depot's system compares its sale/promotional price to the non-promotional prices of other stores even if the other stores are running a promotion. How do I know this? Well, after my husband whipped out the credit card and paid for the appliances, I insisted that we go to Best Buy. What a difference driving down the street will make!
