This is my first time to this Home Depot location and it was a pleasant one. The staff was very kind and helpful. One young man was very knowledgeable about the different types of fans as well as the bulbs - it was extremely helpful in our selection process. We purchased two fans and they brought them out to the car for us. When we pulled the car up, they were waiting right there for us so we didn't even have to go inside to tell them we were there. This location also had a lot of selections for fans compared to other Home Depots I've noticed, which is why we drove up here. I recommend going to this location. read more

So, rented a Home Depot truck from the Freehold, NJ location... Will file under lesson learned/doubt I will ever do that again. Surprise #1/mild negative: undisclosed $5/daily rental tax. Not HD's fault, but, not disclosed either verbally or on their estimate. Surprise #2/indefinite: so, you have to wait for an associate to check you back in, potentially making you late due to no fault of your own--which I will guess they may arbitrarily charge you for, based on surprise #3. Surprise #3/offensively arbitrary: I guesstimated 1 gallon would bring me back to a 1/2 tank full, unfortunately I underestimated ever so slightly--I would argue pretty easy to do since the gauge on the F250 I rented took a while to move--so, I made that mistake. Since I wanted to get the truck back on time & I thought the gauge might settle @ 1/2 tank full, I did not get another gallon, again--my mistake. What did Home Depot do with my mistake? Why they charged me for ~2-2.5 gallons of gas @ either $10/gallon (disclosed on their paperwork contract estimate) or ~$12/gallon=$24.38. Surely, 1 gallon would put it over the 1/2 full mark, but my rep felt like 2-2.5 gallons made more sense to her. Must keep up the margins, of course!!! Surprise #4/partly neutral: You can use a debit card for the deposit, which, given the arbitrary nature of how they reconciled the bill, I would consider avoiding due to less consumer protection. YMMV, but, I will likely never use them for this again. Forewarned=forearmed. Let the buyer (renter) beware. HD vehicle rental can go downhill/get surprisingly expensive quickly!!! read more

Let's face it if you live in the Freehold area you're going to come to this Home Depot. It's certainly not my favorite Home Depot, but it's so close to home so it's where I go. I've been coming here for over 10 years. The first thing I want to say is that they have some really knowledgeable workers on the floor. And that's the reason for the 3-star rating even though it feels like a 2-star store. Kevin in the patio door section is outstanding. Mike in plumbing can find anything you need. And there's many more people like this - I'm really impressed with the employees. The problem is during the middle of the day it gets very crowded. I'm sure it's because of its location as well as being at the Freehold Raceway Mall. So it's really hard to get help during regular business hours. It's not the employees fault there just are not enough of them considering how many people are coming into the store. Otherwise keep in mind that this is a smaller-sized Home Depot with limited selection on many items. But if you need to get some hardware, or some tools, or a plant you can't go wrong going here. My suggestion is to come either early in the morning or late at night when there's less crowds. Coming early in the morning is best because their best people are on the floor. As long as you can get there before 9 o'clock you should be fine. read more

I have no trouble with the workers I find them to be nice most of the time when I asked to see the manager about a policy she came over and had a terrible personality her name is Bessie. I told the young worker this is bull my exact words and she made a big stink telling him you don't need to take this crap, she was trying to be smart and saying have a good day. As a woman..lol. I don't have a reason to go to home depot very often...BUT...when I do have to go I try to make it quick n painless. I'm not a huge fan of this one..for many reasons..one it's not set up like the normal ones so it throws ur shopping all off of getting in and out..two the employees don't normally bother with helping. .three they don't have much on Cleaning supplies and such..they do have a decent selection of landscaping stones...which is a bonus. A decent size parking lot which makes for easy in n out. It's not difficult to get lost in this one bc their isn't a sign for cleaning stuff..plenty of signs for lumber, paint and other household chore items..so with that being said..it's home depot...we all have our fave locations. read more

Just absolutely amazed with the atrocious service I received from Home Depot. Ordered 6 new appliances through them but they use a 3rd party for delivery. The initial delivery was incomplete as I was still missing a refrigerator and dryer. Home Depot's response is we don't know anything, call our delivery service. The 3rd party's response is sorry nothing we can do about it, everything was delivered. Every time I continue to contact Home Depot they give the generic "sorry to hear that, we are working on it". 2 weeks go by and the rest of the items were supposed to be delivered but yet again, a refrigerator came but no dryer. And the wonderful the cycle started all over. Their standards are so low it's beyond frustrating, as if a situation of this nature was common. The staff, the managers, the delivery party - simply did not care. The manager's wonderful condescending tone had the audacity to question why I put a freeze on my credit card charge. Why on earth would I front $5000 for an incomplete service and no answers? American Express accommodated me within minutes while Home Depot reps couldn't give me an ounce of sympathy as this has been putting a burden on me financially - not having a working refrigerator for food or being able to wash/dry my clothes at home for over 2 weeks. Never ever again, I learned the hard way. You get what you pay for. read more

That really impressed me because all the Home Depot's up by where I live in the Old Bridge area are totally useless. You almost have to beg them to show you where something is. My final stop to get my dream kitchen after much research. Very disappointed!!!! I worked with Peter in kitchen designs, went over things 2,3, 4 times. He assured me that the cabinets I picked were sized for a built in microwave option. Well, sad to say they weren't...after I brought it up to his attention and were installed he said " just leave it on the counter" (very nonchalant ).I was so furious,I spoke to the store manager. The store manager said he would get back to me. It's been more than a week with no answer. This is the downside of big box stores. After the sale is made they don't care. Called customer service twice, walked up to the pro desk once and asked three other associates for help only to be told "not my job but I'll try to find the guy" and nobody ever showed up. When I moved to this area this was a Builder's Square store. It's an older building so its not a full size/full service location. They do OK with what they have. But because its not a full size location they don't carry everything. And it always seems like the thing they aren't carrying is the thing I need that visit. When my daughter was little she called it "the store that has nothing" after our many frustrating visits. But after a while you learn their inventory. It's convenient for me which is why I go their first. But I've learned that if their is any question in my mind that they carry an item, I just drive to the Howell store. Also, they don't rent tools or equipment here. read more

While not my favorite Depot, it is my go to one due to the proximity. Often, I can end up here 10 or more times in a week. Help here can be hit or miss, but for the most part they are ok. This is a smaller Home Depot because it was not originally built to be a Depot. There is no tool rental dept here so keep that in mind. They do have the rental truck. On weekends, you must make a purchase to rent the truck, but during the week, you do not have to make a purchase. The parking lot is standard Depot design.......waaaaaay too many handicap spots. I guess they were anticipating a rush of crippled people looking to build a deck or something. read more

I think most of us have been to a Home Depot before so you know that it's a huge home improvement warehouse. Kind of the Sam's Club of fixing up your house and gardening. This one in particular is really a quality store as far as the service goes. They almost always have someone at the door to greet you and show you where to go if you are unsure where it might be. They always have a lot of employees walking around too that are really friendly and willing to help out. I have been to the location in Howell, NJ and I haven't received the same service. This Home Depot has all the services that most of the newer ones have even though it's one of the older buildings too. The one negative to this Home Depot is that they are located in the same area as the Freehold Raceway Mall. The reason I say this is a negative is if the mall has a lot of traffic going in and you just want to pick something up from here really quick you get stuck in the mall traffic. Most of the year it's not that bad but just something to keep in mind. My other thing about Home Depot is if you need something really quick or even want to buy a fridge and have compared the prices then go for it. We've hired them to do some work around our house and it has not been up to par compared to hiring a non affiliated contractor. I've even had the Home Depot contractor give me his personal business card while in my home and tell me to call him for another job and he would charge a lot less if the job wasn't affiliated with Home Depot. The other issue is all of the work that Home Depot does is special order. We got wood floors from there and they were special order. It took months for them to come in. They keep nothing in stock besides the cheapest most common items that contractors use. If you want a nice fridge, wood floors or carpet then you will have to wait a period of time before it comes in. Just keep this in mind if you are thinking about going to Home Depot for anything other than mulch and a new light fixture. read more

Spent whole afternoon on verticles. Made 4 trips to store for them to get it right. They cut it wrong and counted the number of verticles required incorrectly. Billy finally took over and saved the day, performing competently. One explanation for cutting them too short was that the cutting machine was labeled incorrectly. Well, we must have been the first in the history of that store to buy verticles. They gave us 10% off. read more

I would give this place one star, had it not been for 1 employee that went out of his way to help me. I had a plumbing issue at my house. I walked into Home Depot snd went to customer service to ask where I would find a thredded flange that would fit at the end of my sink and allow me to connect a hose to it and use it. Well the kid at the desk (couldn't be more than 20) I believe his name was Giancarlo had said the extract isle and bay that the item was in. I walked right to the isle and didn't see it so I asked the plumbing associate. He was no help at all. So I found it myself and had more questions. I could not find him so I found this other associate Joanne. She helped but didn't know much. It was a miracle because Giancarlo had rounded the corner, I guess going to get a order for a customer and had stopped to answer my question. I paid for the item and I enjoyed the service I received and I encourage anyone to go and ask for Giancarlo. He is a delight to deal with. read more
