We found a 12ft Inferno Skeleton to be in stock online at This location (Bellevue, WI) so we called and spoke with someone in gardening who told us they had a few and that he was looking at the boxes. We drove just over 3 hours from the west suburbs of Chicago to pick it up (immediately after calling). When we arrived we spoke to an employee who escorted us to the Halloween section where there were no 12ft Inferno skeletons. I asked him to check the rafters and he said it was't there but never looked himself. Then he went on to tell us, multiple times, that you can get them shipped to our home for free. We advised him that you can't. He then told us that we should go online look for it in another state and go there. We frustratingly advised him that, that is exactly what we did and it brought us here! Another employee stated that the last one they sold was on 10/6/22 and about 5 minutes later another employee, presumably the manager, came up and apologized to us saying that they don't know why the internet and employee told us they had one because, he said, they never got any in. Frustratingly I told him we were just told they sold one 2 days ago. He then stated well I don't know who you are talking to and we pointed to the employee behind him and said her. This store is completely disorganized and useless. I highly recommend you shop somewhere else. read more

I cannot express how awful the customer service is at this location. No one knows anything and no one seems to give a heck about helping customers. They sell defective stuff and then leave you hanging to take care of all the problems yourself and offer no help along the way. The store manager is absolutely clueless and she seems to be overwhelmed by her position in which she is definitely way over her head. Never been in a store with less motivated and engaged people. Just seem to be going through the motions. So glad that we have options like Menards and Lowe's. We need a Lowe's for sure here. They would eat Home Depot's lunch! read more

The customer service person and the guy impersonating the manager should really be kept away from any customers. Home Depot has always been one of my favorite stores. The people at the west side location are always friendly and helpful and I know it's slim pickings when it comes to finding quality employees but really ? These two clowns at the east side location are the most ignorant, rude, disrespectful and all around pathetic customer service reps I've ever seen. The "manager ?" was hilarious and should probably seek actual management training even at an elementary level. The elderly customer service person obviously has her own issues but to allow two people to alienate someone who has spent well over $100k at that location over the last few years simply because they are having a "bad day" shouldn't be the goal of Home Depot . By no means, I'm a handy guy. I can sew buttons on my pants, but don't expect to fix something. I was asked to get some paint and rollers for a project with some friends. Was greeted right away by an older gentleman (kind like at Wal Mart), and he asked me what I was looking for and pointed me in the right direction. As I'm aimlessly looking at the painting supplies, I was greeted right away by one of the workers. She asked what I was looking for and what my project was. As I explained, she made good suggestions on what paint rollers to get, the tape I need, and how much paint I needed. Besides being a little short on tape, I had plenty of everything and everything worked out great. To some this might be a simple trip, but I would have been lost if I didn't get any help. I feel at most retail stores, it's rare to get acknowledged. To have someone come up and wanting to help me and being knowledgable in her department made it a super-positive experience. read more

I like Home Depot and their paint department. Also like their seasonal decorations. However if you are getting flooring, please, please, do your homework and really make an informed decision. I went here to get an idea of what it would cost to replace some of my carpet. I talked to Ginger, who was nice and got me a good price and told me about their current sales. They pressure you into a "measure" to "lock in the sale" and charge $35 for this and no, it's not refundable unless you quick go cancel before you get the measure. They can't give you a set time until the day of the measure and the worst part is the carpet isn't quality but they talk it up to great quality. You have to understand what carpets are made of and which is going to last. They sell polyester and nylon is far superior. Home Depot offers carpet by carpet weight which is no longer a standard in the industry. I was told how they take care of the entire process themselves (Home Depot) and it turns out they do not! They hire a 3rd party contractor to install it. If you would get it installed and happen to have an issue, Home Depot isn't going to stand behind it or help you with it. You will be stuck with the contractor and hope for a good one. I am very glad I did serious research and canceled the measure before it happened. You should not have to pay for a measure and feel pressure to get it. read more

Never get your carpet installed by Home Depot. They hire a third-party contractor who is completely unprofessional. They have the worst customer service ever. We had purchased our carpet for four of our rooms in the house a month and a half in advance. I cleaned out my whole entire house anticipating this day; when the contractors arrived they would not install the carpet in my home. They said the site was not ready. I was extremely upset as I had spent all weekend and even took off work the day of to get everything prepared and everything ready. They would not even come back and reinstall it the same day either. It is possibly the worst customer service that you could ever get. Because this is a third-party contractor Home Depot really has no control over the installation process which is very very inconvenient for the customer as well. Home Depot should really hire a contractor home would be willing to work directly with Home Depot and the customer to make sure of that there is customer satisfaction. My husband and I are left hanging with a house with no new carpet and cluttered items in the basement. read more

Great service...we were looking for a kitchen sink and faucet and two different people in plumbing came to our aid and explained a granite composite sink was tough while a woman in the dept. recommended Delta for ease of replacing parts -- i.e. washers and walked us through the huge selection. While there is usually nothing that stops me from creating or improving, I also like to save a buck while doing so. Sometimes it pays to shop around. On the last several trips to Home Depot, I have found the "professional and caring" staff to be neither. Obviously, this month employees must greet you pleasantly, then become aloof. I'd like to know what qualifies employment in this environment besides breathing. If you can find help when you need assistance, they usually make you wait, and then don't have a clue on items in the department. In today's debacle, I was looking for a 3/8" galvanized nipple that needed to be 4 1/2" long. Well the woman in the plumbing department said she had threaded pipe before....doubtful. She in tears words let me know that I had the choice between 4" or 5" and that they could not thread anything under 12", even though the threading machine sat idly next to us. Come on! I've done it, myself. She just didn't want to do it, or didn't want to learn how. Where are the "professionals"??? When I left to check out several other items, she followed and pointed me out to a co-worker. Of course the self check-outs didn't work as usual, and the heavily Spanish speaking clerk seemed over worked as she had to scan my six items. Disappointed again. Highly expect my dollars to be spent elsewhere from now on. read more
