This is my go to place for buying supplies for my rental and home renovation projects. The location is convenient and located in a great but busy location. So make sure to time your travel and avoid office hours. This time around I scored a great deal online and was just there for a store pick up. I got a 3 wifi enabled garage door openers for $250..... Usually you pay that for one. The staff is super friendly but reasons for cutting down on the rating is the wait time in the lines for pick up and I have tried the curbside pick up as well, and that has taken me even more longer. Most of the staff there is knowledgeable, if not they will find a person to answer your question. Home depot is one of the leaders in building supplies. I have heard the company is more an innovator and risk taker in their industry. read more

Just left Home Depot was in the store for 35 minutes found the power screwdriver I needed. Online it said it was $39.99 in the store it was $49.95. I waited online for 13 minutes when I finally get to the register and I tell the cashier the price difference. She Ask for a manager who said we don't price match our stores online price. If you want it for that price you need to order it online but you won't get it for that price here. Her tone, facial expression and attitude was rude and condescending. I was greeted by Connie, asking how she could help. After telling her I wanted copy of key made, she directed me to the isle and said someone would be there momentarily. Nick said he would see if they had the one i needed and made a copy. Then he walked towards my car with me to make sure it worked. I told him to go ahead of me, saying he could check it and be back before I could get there with my walker. We had a great conversation, revealing his beautiful soul. I went to Home Depot because Lowe's was no help. I needed plumbing help. I asked to have someone come to plumbing to help me. I waited for almost 10 minutes, looking myself for what I needed. Went & asked for help again. I waited almost 10 minutes again & still no one. I left. Poor customer service when you can't get anyone to help you. I finally just left. Not only did the guys forget to install some accessories, one was very rude when I called right away to have them come back and complete. I called customer service at my local Home Depot and they were WONDERFUL and also took 10% off of my purchase. One of the local home improvement stores. Home improvement stores carry a great many products and do many things. BUT if you are looking for something specific they might not have it (read won't for specific tools and hardware), and all their services (in store and out) are suspect. For this reason I would probably never cross three stars for a home improvement store. I prefer a real hardware store and a real lumber yard even if I have to go to two places sometimes. This particular Home Depot- Good- Clean and OK location. open pretty late Self Service check outs are generally quick Bad- Twice now I have quickly picked things up in boxes to purchase and got home to realize they were returns that had been re shelved. I'm definitely a Home Depot guy. I can't get into Lowe's. There's just something that I don't like about that chain. As far as Home Depots go, the one here in Clifton Park isn't anything amazing but it's convenient and it generally always has exactly what I'm looking for, so there's nothing to complain about. When I was traveling all the time for my old job, if something happened and I needed tools or materials unexpectedly, finding a Home Depot on the road was always a plus. Admittedly I'm sure if you try, you can find many of the same things elsewhere for less money, but the convenience of a Home Depot is at least to some extent worth the extra few dollars. This followup review centers around this Home Depot's customer service. Yesterday I bought a 3-pack of CFL bulbs, but one of the bulbs didn't work properly. It flickered every few seconds, whereas the other two bulbs did not do this when installed into the same socket. Today I brought the defective bulb to the exchange desk and asked if I could simply swap it out for a new one. I didn't realize that these particular bulbs are only sold in 3-packs (according to the employee helping me), so he said he would just refund the entire purchase price. That went above my expectations as I was only looking to get one new bulb. The fact that the store was willing to take a slight loss and refund the entire purchase price including tax without hesitation shows that they care about their customers. Now, they may not be so liberal with really expensive items, but at least they don't employ bean counters to squabble over the little things. read more

After speaking to a rude and arrogant representative, Samantha, who stated they aren't interested unless it was all the cabinets. This is my first time I walked into your store go to self check out and have one of your employee watch me as if I am stealing something. Like I am a criminal. What makes matter even more upsetting I had my son with me as we walked out the store the first thing he say to me was why was that man watching just you and no one else. How do you explain to a 6 year old why his father was being judge. Why the man keep asking me did you scan this item or review my scan items but no one else. For the first time in my life I felt a pain I never felt before a pain that won't go away. This will be my last time shopping at your store. I had a horrible experience with this Home Depot store. I had a washer and dryer installed and the first time I used it the washer water poured out of it and into my kitchen below, damaging both my ceiling and floors. Not only did I have to wait a month for a replacement but they screwed up on my delivery date so I took off from work and waited at home for nothing. As if that wasn't enough one of the store managers was not only unapologetic but rude. We are done buying at Home Depot. I read more

As a long term account holder and commercial customer we will NO longer do business there and have even changed most of our spending to Lowes because of our experience with this one store. Realize that although they are listed as the #1 store to allow dogs in general the Clifton Park store has a manager that appears to be deathly afraid of dogs and is flat out RUDE! The overall claim of even being listed as one (#1 listing) of the stores that allows pets is a FLAT OUT LIE as they cover it with a disclaimer that it varies store to store based on manager. Several years back the Home Depot used to be a sore spot for me as the service was seemingly non-existent. However they've changed quite a bit in the past couple of years. I've noticed at this store that the employees are much more willing to help out than they were in the past. I shop at this site about 20 times per year and rarely have a bad experience. After buying a replacement dishwasher, we were informed that Home Depot would hook it up to the preexisting water connection when the machine was delivered but not the electricity. Okay, my husband could do that part. On arriving with the machine, we were told that the delivery people would only be dropping off the machine. The did not have any record that it would be hooked up and lacked the necessary pieces to do that job. We are no more than 5 minutes away, but workers refused to go get the needed parts as they had more deliveries. My husband offered to go get the parts but they refused. It was suggested said we could call and make another appointment which would require another day off work for my husband. Instead we chose to go get the same machine at Lowes for the same price, no tax which Home Depot charged, and Lowes does the electrical work as well. Since the delivery workers were not able to find the house on a suburban street with well-marked, consecutive numbering, had to circle the block several times, and make two phone calls (we were watching the unmarked truck for some time before they called the house), we probably dodged a bullet here. I doubt it would not be a good idea to have these people fooling around with the water hook-ups. read more

My husband and I went to this home depot looking for a specific item that their website said they had EIGHT of. Large item that can't be easily hid. Well, someone was hiding them as we were unable to find a single one. A rep checked to see if it was actually in stock and his system said they had NINE of them. But no one could find a single one. The rep said we could order it on line and return it to the store if we didn't like it. But it would take up to 2 weeks to be delivered. We tried another store (where there were supposed to be 2 in stock) and were told they were sold out. So do not trust when their site says something is in stock in the store. Their system is worthless for checking. Call ahead and make sure someone holds the item if you are traveling any distance. read more
