I just purchased a new townhome in Detroit. I needed to purchase a new refrigerator for my new place. I went to The Home Depot and met with Alicia in appliances. I purchased a French door style 36" wide refrigerator at the Black Friday sale price . When it was delivered, I noticed that the refrigerator stuck out too far. I immediately contacted Alicia. She informed me that there were 2 depths, standard and counter. She apologized for not informing me that there were 2 options when I made my purchase. I decided to return the standard depth and replace it with a counter depth refrigerator. I was informed by Alicia that her manager Matt would not agree to sell me the counter depth size at the Black Friday sale price. She told me that he would only give me $50 off for the regular price. I told Alicia that I would take my business to Lowe's. And I did. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE HOME DEPOT! Based on this extremely poor customer service, I will never shop at The Home Depot again and will share my experience with my family and friends. read more

Poor customer service. I wanted plywood cut to measurement. The store associate who i was talking to handed me over to another associate in the middle of the conversation to help someone else. The other associate disappeared. Most of the time I can not find associates f help and when I do find someone it's usually a disappointment because of their poor attitude. read more

So, it's a home depot. They have everything that a home depot is supposed to have. Yesterday I was there and they have a security guard.... ok... the issue that I have is he's got a gun on his hip, a bullet proof vest (or so it appears and his head is completely covered except for his eyes..... I ordered a Wheel barrow that on line not once but twice it said it would be delivered. I called the manager told her what happened she apologized and said there were no more left at that price. She new I was upset as I waited for it to be shipped for 2 different days so asked if she could put me on hold for a few. This manager went ABOVE and BEYOND as there were no more left at that price she got me a wheel barrel delivered the next day and made it right, I would go to this Home Depot any time. I have no idea why people are lying in their reviews. This definitely The worst home depot currently open. I bet the employees are leaving reviews. The Managers (Paul, Rob) here are the worst! Nasty people with the nastiest attitudes to match. The female employees are loud, aggressive, rude, abrasive esp Simora(Sims character with circle black framed glasses) and Shelia the worst! Pros at Rude and Terrible Service. Good luck trying to find what you need in good condition. The selection is iffy looking. Its not worth your time! They just dont have what other locations do. Instead of having their stock in order they're more interested in following people around the store who do not steal meanwhile the people they don't suspect are stealing like their own employees. I placed an order for a Maytag washer and dryer April 18th for delivery April 26th. The day prior I received my window for delivery 7:30 am -11:30 am. At approximately 1:30 pm I called to track my delivery and was told it hadn't made it to the warehouse the day before and wasn't going out. I was never contacted and basically got the run around for the res of my afternoon. My best advice is if that item is not available for delivery the day of purchase leave it at the store and go somewhere else. This is not the first issue I've had with delivery with them and apparently while making my comp at the service desk plenty of people have had issues as well. Get it together Home Depot we expect more!!! read more

The worst Home Depot I have been too and as a contractor I have been to most. No pro services or prioritization. No help, rude workers and worst of all not enforcing masks or social distancing . I placed an order online for new floors a week ago. Asked for a notification before drop off. I wake up this morning at 8:30 to see my order in front of my door. No notification or anything that the driver was in it's way. Specifically asked for a call too. Keep in mind it's been raining all morning. I call the store to complain, after going back and forth with the manager, because I kept getting rudely interrupted, she said she would fix it and call me back with an update. Right after I get off the phone I get a notification that the order is in route? This is terrible communication and resolve. I asked for them to have the driver come back and pick the flooring up and she said she was working on it and would call me back. It's been over an hour now and haven't heard back from anyone. Further more when I placed the order online I didn't pick this store cause I knew I would have issues l. I picked the Roseville store and this is what I get instead. It's 11:08 still raining and the product is still sitting out front. No follow up calls or anything. Adding to this as I hadn't heard back from anyone. Just to save, don't go to this store the managers don't know what the heck is going on and will tell you they will call you back and don't. Just goes to show how this place has fallen to shambles over the years. Surprised they are still open employees don't know anything and they don't provide any help either. read more

Terrible delivery service from HELL. contracted by Home Depot they called themselves Enterprise Delivery perhaps because the use rental trucks. Delivery was a bad experience. They told us as a third party contractor what Home Depot sales person told us was not their concern. When we ordered a refrigerator the sakes person told us be sure to inspect it before the delivery persons left and before it was shipped n the house. And if it was damaged they would take it back. Delivery persons refused to help refused to wait while we struggled to open box that had some damaged. They left before we could see damage a 5" long dent in the front top door no way to tell before they left. not as much as was in side. We called Home Depot told them of damage. They said maybe they could just replace the door. Now this is setting outside in the weather. So whilst we were waiting. We decided to just cancel the order and asked them to pick it up. The same Terrible delivery came back the next morning called just 5 minutes before they were n our back yard they didn't knock made no attempt to contact me as and I rushed to get dressed to make sure they would give us a receipt or anything for the fridge. But they quickly stripped off the protective boxing we had left on it and two guys literally threw it in their truck sliding it on the steel truck bed and ran away without giving us a receipt. Leaving the huge cardboard box and styrofoam blowing all over my backyard I have no idea if they will return it to Home Depot or if the just stole it read more

This store sucks. The people here are not there to help you they just walk around with their head up so they don't have to look. I sat by Plumbing for 10 minutes after calling somebody waiting another 20 minutes for somebody to come and help me. For two guys to walk right past me and not even bother to ask me if I needed help they went to the other guy, whatever you guys suck there. The employees were very helpful with helping to locate items. The guy in the tool renter area was also very helpful and friendly.

I tried to take back a 5 gallon water bottle that I put a deposit on. They told me to exchange it. I explained that the top doesn't fit our type of cooler. Mgr sent me to customer service. Then I went through the whole explanation again. That person went to another To come back with "we only exchange for full bottles. 4 people later I told them to keep the bottle...HD needs the 5.00 more than me. Will never shop there again. Don't ever order appliances from #HomeDepot. Delivery is from a third party and they don't care about how you get your appliances. I ordered them online. BIG MISTAKE! It took 2 weeks for delivery and they forgot the parts to my dishwasher which I had to wait another week for someone to come to my home to finish the job. It took 2 Weeks to get the first delivery scheduled. There's no since of urgency and everything is because of COVID. They have no business selling appliances. The people don't know anything about them and you can't get a human being on the phone without going through a million prompts and waiting over 45minutes. read more

This location for me is the closest to Grosse Pointe area but the area isn't the most idea. Definitely need to keep your eyes and ears open from the time you exit your vehicle to the time you re-enter it. Keep your purses close to you ladies. Customer service here has been mixed for me. I've spent a ton of money here on my home renovations and I've found that some employees are knowledgeable and helpful and others just have no clue or care. It's give or take here but definitely better than Lowes up the street. read more

I found myself there yesterday to return a few items and stood next to a return desk that Tamara was working, she looked at me and continued to sort items that had been returned earlier without as much as saying a word, I at that point realized that her desk was closed( I wonder how long she was going to let me stand there before saying something). This isn't the first time I've experienced poor service from Tamara but I can assure you it's the last. I needed a rectangular bucket but had no luck at other stores. Finally I went to the Home Depot in Harper Woods. The associate Vinnie was extremely helpful and courteous. He went out of his way to help and I really appreciated it. He helped me find one exactly what I was looking for. He creatively suggested a storage bin which worked great and came with a lid (so I can use it for other things). I would recommend this Home Depot to others. read more

I went to the Harper Woods location of The Home Depot and for over an hour, I had requested at least 5 times for them to locate "Kevin" in the Rental Tool Department. There were 5 people waiting for SOMEONE to come help but no one came. I had to leave and drive to the 13 Mile Road in Roseville, MI where there was not one person in the Tool Rental Department, but two people. I was in and out of there within 10 minutes. The problem is the job I was on was located at 8 Mile Mack area which is why I went to the Harper Woods location in the first place. By the time I drove all the way to the Roseville store and back, an hour had passed. Remember that the 1-94 freeway is under construction and I had to return the rental tool w/i the 4 hrs and further away. The tool I rented had a 4 hr limit - so between the time wasted, driving times, driving farther away from my job, it put undue stress on myself for this particular job. Have to mention, when I was in the Roseville Home Depot, I made a comment about the tool rental department and without telling my story, an employee of the Roseville store, laughed and said something like "they have the department although to my knowledge no one mans it." If I was the owner/manager of the Harper Woods store and knew that 3 people left because of the lack of help, I would have to take a hard look at my employees, In a world of unemployment, I can't imagine not being able to hire someone who cares enough to have a job and do a good job at it. I finally decided to buy new blinds for all of my windows in my home...Spent an hour and a half picking out the right measurements and shades but I needed a special order for one window because I wanted it in black. After asking 3 different employees about ordering the blinds and the last one finally telling me to wait on some employee named (Theresa), he said just stand by her desk, he also said she should have been back from her break a while ago so it shouldn't be long. I stood there for atleast 30 minutes waiting but no Theresa. I was so frustrated that I just left the whole basket of blinds right there next to Theresa's computer desk and said forget it all...Maybe I'll try Menards, I have never been there before but anything beats the treatment that I received from this Home Depot... I will never go there again. The employees see you coming to ask a question and they turn around and run from you....Very, Very Poor Customer Service.... read more

I have worked in retail for over 35 years. I have never had a worse customer experience as I did in the Harper Woods Home Depot. Dwayne was in charge of the store and was called to the device desk to help the desk clerk out with my particular problem. Dwayne approached the desk and never made eye contact or acknowledge me. He typed something in the computer and walked away. Never paid any attention to me or the clerk. I will drive an extra 6 miles to go to the next Home Depot the next time I shop. Shame on you Harper Woods for employing a person that has no interest in customer experience. read more

The overall location of this Home Depot is difficult to get to. The online order pick up at this location is a complete joke. I waited over 40 minutes to pick up a ladder, purchased online with a 20% off special. Seemed like a good deal but in lieu of my experience waiting in line and dealing with aggravated employees this is for sure my last straw. This place is a complete joke. The management here has missed the big picture. Now off to Lowes right down the street. You fail me again and again Home Depot. Be smart and avoid this location at all costs. read more

I chose this store for the pickup of an online order, as they were the only one with the product I wanted in stock. To be honest, I was a little skeptical walking in, but the pickup was quick and very pleasant. Someone even hand wrote me a "Thank You" note for my order. Who does that anymore?!
