I went in to purchase paint and primer for a home project. I asked for help at the paint desk, but I was ignored for over an hour while employees stood nearby chatting. It was only when I finally tracked down a manager that I received any real assistance. When I was eventually helped, I was told the store was out of gray primer -- which was misleading, since the white primer I purchased could have been tinted gray. I was also told I had to prepay for my primer before it could be tinted, something I have never experienced in any paint store before. Even the store manager later confirmed that this is not Home Depot policy. What upset me most is that I did not see this "prepay before mixing" requirement applied to any other customers. As a Black woman, this made me feel singled out and treated differently in a way that was humiliating and discriminatory. I love shopping at Home Depot because of the selection of products available. I can always find what I need. The pricing is worth the value of products and service. This time I tried out the curbside service. I was a little upset that regular customers parked in curbside spots and filled them up (see photo). I had to wait for someone to leave so I could get a spot and check in. I called customer service 4 times, the 1st 3 reps told me delivery was coming via a company who's web site was not functioning. The 4th customer service rep found out a different delivery service had my microwave on a truck. Then she found out my microwave was never loaded on the truck, didn't know where my microwave was, and told me she was cancelling my order and refunding my money. Weeeeeell I'm disappointed in Home Depot they dropped the ball. I was going to buy a power washer and attachment to clean the driveway. I do research on the machine I wont go online to Home Depot find out my local one does not have any machines find at this location has machines and has the attachments so I drove 20 miles plus to get to this location. Online says they The machine is on 19. So I walk in I'm at 1 19 is at the other end of the store and I finally get to 19 and it's the last row and it's lumber. I walk around lost looking at each row till I see and ask someone they have no clue what a power washer Was and looked it up and said row 19. I sat it's wrong, so he calls someone and they say row 48 I think which was 5 rows down from the entrance. They have a machine start to look for the attachment there's an empty shelf the website says they have eight in stock not be able to find anybody anywhere around there I want up to customer service. The lady at customer service looks like a deer in the headlights it had no clue what to do we had to call somebody else to ask them that person takes a look and goes here we have eight in stocks what it says right there it's on aisle... shelf... seeing I have an entire power washer in a cart I've been down that aisle I told him there's not any on the shelf I was just there I saw the spot where they belong so be a great employee he proceeds to walk all the way back to row 19 nope! It's over here so I walk him to 48 and he starts looking and slaps the empty space where the tags out and says this is where they're supposed to be. I replied with no crap I told you that before and walked over here at the spot was empty Internet says you have eight so he scans of our code employees with his device for 5 mins looking at the barcode and the device like 20 times and says we don't have them but we can order it. No but does any other store have them..... nope no one does it's popular because of Christmas and Hass to be special ordered. Horrible disrespectful service. I was in line with my shopping cart full of items (easily $150 worth) waiting for 15 minutes and then some woman who didn't identify herself told me I was in the wrong line. They had a single line going through self service rather than individual lines starting at each register as you'd expect at any other store. I had already waited 15 minutes and there was no signage or instructions explaining their crazy illogical line policy. It was just completely stupid how they were doing their lines. Further the Home Depot lady who didn't identify herself was rude and was talking down to the customers as though this were a free food line or the welfare office. The other customers switched to the other line but I don't believe in giving my hard earned money to a store that disrespects me or my time. Even the welfare office does better. I chose to leave the store and go elsewhere with my money. I will not be back. I stopped going to this location many years ago even though it is close to my home because I felt the place gives you too much of a DMV/Welfare office/Walmart experience. My theory was that the piss poor service is because the store is located in a minority community and Home Depot, like many other stores, likes to treat us any kind of way yet charges the same price. At least Walmart gives you a big discount for putting up with the poor service from people they only half pay. But high prices and piss poor service--I say hell to the no to that!! I only came back to this store, because a friend of mine who is a contractor, told me that this location recently got a new GM who's working to change their racist image and disrespectful policies. I wish the new GM luck but I see I will need to continue driving to stores outside my community to get proper service. At least for now. Inventory online doesn't match locations actual inventory. Employees knowledge of the items in their departments is equal to that of a wet brick. Employees avoid customer interaction like the plague. I waited 20 minutes just for somebody to come to the key center. Then another 30 minutes to get 5 keys made. The person in charge decided to train two new workers how to make a key. After she showed them, she decided to leave. They were getting frustrated because they didn't know what they were doing; I told them it wasn't their fault. Also who needs an entrance when EVERYONE uses the exit instead? I just bought a case of ceiling tiles, and after sorting through 5 cases that didn't have a barcode, I finally found an opened case. The refrigerator is not our issue but how Home Depot is choosing to handle our predicament. Purchased online 1Feb2020. Delivered 5Feb2020, Houston Texas. Drove to Gulfgate 77087 for a solution 11Feb2020, ending in Gulfgate not wanting to work with us at all. We have an issue with our new LG refrigerator and needed to exchange for a different model. We are not in that house yet and didn't know this until days later, so we are past the 48hrs return window. However, it's only been six days with no food stored and even the film still attached. Pin Oak 77081 location was willing to return for a 15% restocking fee, no problem, we understand. But this online order was delivered by the Gulfgate location and needed to be returned by Gulfgate. We drove from Pin Oak to Gulfgate. Employees were helpful but needed management to follow through. We got two unhelpful people, the "appliance manager" and the so-called "store-manager". I don't think she was the store manager as she didn't say anything but 'no' and couldn't even look at my husband while talking to him. Really weird, especially if you are in management, one should be able to directly speak to customers standing in front of them. Also, if you are a manager, be able to figure out a solution. Especially if another location (Pin Oak) was willing to accept our return, why Gulfgate will not. The refrigerator is in new condition. We are willing to pay for 15% restocking fee. We are willing to pay for pick-up services. And we are wanting to purchase a more expensive frig that will work for us. (I was not there at delivery. The delivery personnel installed the frig and pulled it way past the counter into the hallway in order to open one side of the frig. My dear husband does not cook nor understood that this is not okay, but the home depot delivery person knew or he would not have pulled it into our hallway to open the doors. If you have to pull the frig out that much to open, then it clearly will not work.) But Gulfgate managers are in no way willing to help or even listen. Neither one attempted to call the Pin Oak manager for information or confirmation of our situation. Talking to Gulfgate was like talking to a blank wall. We spend thousands of dollars with this freaking company and Gulfgate Home Depot made me sick that we shop here at all. I will post on every platform I know. We have helped this company grow by buying from them as many others. And its customer service is lacking more and more every year with little concern. This seemed like one of the better home depot stores. It had several marked entrances for retail customers versus contractors with employees to immediately help guide you to your solutions. That's the most amazing part. They had workers who you could easily find and were willing to help. Typically, it seems like a self service warehouse where the rules are made up on the spot haha. There was a rental area for equipment that you may not have a need to invest in. The lumber aisle was fully stocked and lines were moving quickly. I'm not normally a big fan of chain hardware stores, as their customer service is usually lost in the ultimate drive towards the bottom line. Every now and then, however, you come across an employee or two that make the customer their priority no matter how inconvenient it is or how busy they are. Such was the case when I visited this Home Depot location in search for some parts on a Saturday afternoon. Long story short, I brew my own beer and just bought a kegerator. The CO2 regulator that came with my kegerator (bought used on Craigslist) had one outlet open and I needed either a plug or a second gauge to keep the air from escaping. No air = No beer = Bad So, here I go into Home Depot on my quest. It takes me a couple of minutes to realize that the extent of Home Depot's CO2 parts are found in the air tools section. I manage to find someone to talk to about my needs and explain that my purposes are for kegging beer. He said the regulators should be the same and we start trying to find something to plug the open spot on my regulator. We found a gauge and spend 2-3 minutes trying to screw it in but are not able to. Stupid me, I didn't realize that the threads were left-handed! The associate tells me this and we opt to simply buy a new regulator in the ever-growing desire for beer on tap immediately. Sure, I could wait until during the week and go to DeFalco's, but I wanted it then. We picked out another regulator and found the related parts to make it function for my needs. All in all, the associate probably spent 30 minutes helping me figure out exactly what I needed and to put it all together for me as it needed multiple attachments and couplers. This employee (whose name escapes me) did an incredible job helping me and instilled within me a new sense of trust in the big-name stores. Follow up: Turns out the regulators are NOT the same and this one actually exploded. I got a mild concussion from the blast but walked away unharmed. A piece of metal actually cracked under the pressure and shot straight down into the cement floor of my garage. Had it gone any other direction, broken bones would have been the least of my problems that evening. Still, I did get great customer service! read more

Coming from League City, after stopping by the Gulfpoint Home Depot and speaking with them about this van that I wanted to purchase, which they confirmed it was $79, they told me that the location at 6810 Gulf FwyHouston, TX 77087 United States had three of these fans in stock at $79. Before driving, I wanted to call and confirm before I took the time to drive. The sales associate in stor at this 6810 location confirmed 3 units in stock at $79. After arriving to this location and not even being escorted to where this item was, I finally flag someone down to help me locate this DeWalt 20 V fan. I tried to check out at the register with the young lady and she said she was unable to honor the price from the homedepot.com website. I asked for a manager and the man down the isle and said the same thing. I drove from the Dickinson area near Galveston all the way to the wood Ridge location, after confirming in person and then on the phone about this product and they would not budge. Unbelievable! I have purchased my whole life at Home Depot and have always had good customer service. This is absolutely unreal that a company would not match their own website...and after in person and by phone confirming the product! This was a bad experience. I called Home Depot customer care and the lady on the phone stated "policy is policy". -final thoughts- If the Home Depot personnel are trained to go to the internet and confirm that price, they need to honor it!!! If they only honor the in-store price, then they should be trained to only look the item up with the store price. I'll try Lowe's and Amazon first from now on. read more

Oh wow, I normally try not to review chains but this one was so helpful and so stinky. The bathrooms are located outside in a Johnny on the Spot type of trailer with multiple units inside. It had my eyes watering and me close to hurling even thirty minutes after exiting hurriedly. I really feel sorry for the workers who probably are subjected to using it everyday.
