Let me start by saying I am 100% grateful that we have a Home Depot and don't have to wait for things to be sent by mail or drive to the mainland for stuff. They have a good selection, and you can order almost anything you need to be shipped to the store and then pick it up. Prices are competitive without that "extra cost" that seems to get added by a lot of businesses because we are so far from the mainland. (I get it, transport here is expensive!). When I place orders they call me to tell me they are ready so I can come pick them up. The two downsides are: 1) the app. If you do curbside pick up with the app, no one brings it out to you. You have to go in, wait in line at customer service, and pick it up yourself. And 2) usually when you go into a home depot the people who work there know a lot about the tools and supplies and how to use them. It's pretty clear that some employees here don't do any of their own home improvements. However, the employees will go out of their way to help you and are super friendly. So that's a huge plus. Just know that you have to come already knowing every single little thing you'll need for your job, including sizes and types, since you won't be able to just ask the staff what else is needed to change the faucet in your sink. read more

Reading some of these reviews, it's hard to believe that they're about the same store. I would argue it's the customers issue. I am in and out of this store (conservatively) 5/8 times a day and have never had an issue. From advice, problem solving, returns, and having blinds cut to length. Today in particular, Rachel (smiley Rach) stopped what she was doing to help me in the blinds section. When one of the cutters were down, she suggested another and if it would work. And it did. It just makes me believe that if those with negative reviews walked in with an already $hitty attitude, then there's nothing that can be done to improve their day. read more

This shop had everything we needed - from random items for home repair to a hitch lock for our vehicle and U-Haul. Staff was helpful when we had to make a return for purchasing the incorrect size hitch lock. Nice to have on the island when you need something and you need it fast! read more

This Home Depot is located on Key West and we visited it on a weekend we were down there. It closes early, around 6:00 PM on Saturdays and when we went to pay there was only one cashier open and about 10 customers in line. I imagine since Key West is a small city that it keeps shorter hours and cashiers but still. Overall it's ok, we found what we were looking for. read more

Like just about every other Home Depot on the planet, except it's in Key West! No, really, the employees here are friendly and helpful. The restrooms are extremely clean, which is a huge plus when you're driving down US1 and have to go number one. I really wish they had a better selection of patio lights. I have been checking back just to see if the selection has changed from week to week., but it really hasn't. Bought a fixer upper in the Keys. Have been coming to this location for a few years prior and really thought nothing of it, just your average HD. The service here is always readily available and you can always find someone to help you with whatever you need. Prices maybe a bit more than average than in rest of US, but they ALWAYS have ( or can order) what you need for your home. Ordered my kitchen cabinets from here and was totally pleased with the professional results I received from Lucy. From conception to finish, great situation- aside from lack of colors! Miracle! ~ My daughter planned her wedding months in advance. Church wedding, garden reception at the oldest house on Key West. Then the rain came. No refund on the reception venue left us with a tight budget. Went to Home Depot to see if they'd rent us some plants to have at the church hall emergency venue and when I asked Karan in the garden department at Home Depot, she said lets talk to the manager and see if we can rent to you. Living in Key West can be a challenge because we are limited to the amount of stores we can shop. Home Depot has served its purpose as a supplier for construction, home repairs, etc. The problem I have is they have specialty areas for estimates, building and installation of products. The wife and I wanted to do interior shutters in our condo and went to Home Depot for help. They set us up with an appointment with California Shutters out of Hialeah, Florida to come down to Key West on March 28th for measuring and an estimate. The company receptionist and the techs called my wife on the 27th to confirm our appointment on the 28th. I cancelled a VA doctors appointment so I could be there on the 28th. The appointment time was from 12pm till 2pm. No one showed so at 3pm I called the home office. Wendy the receptionist told me she would call the techs and find out what is going on and get back with me soon. An hour passed and no call back. I called her back and she said some paper work got mixed up and the techs went to another appointment. I asked her if anyone was going to make my appointment and she said sorry but no. No manager or owner was around so I told her if she could please have one call me the next day. That never happened. The company pledge is to treat their customers like family. I hope they don't treat their family that way. I think Home Depot should remove this company off their list for shutters and anything else they produce. read more

Recently, I ordered tile in bulk to be picked up at will call. I spoke with an employee that took my information and after she had checked that the tile was available, she charged my credit card. Since I was over an hour away, she told me that it would be ready when I arrived. When I got to Key West, after driving through a heavy rain storm, I went to the customer service desk and was told the tile order was not there. I then went to the Flooring Department and talked to the employee who took my order. She said the tile was not available and that someone else had ordered the tile. She said she didn't want to call me when she found out since she said I would be upset! I asked for a supervisor and the Assistant Manager, Robert emerged. He said that he could not fill my order. He was unappologetic and had an attitude. He said I raised my voice and that he would call the police and have me physically removed. Wow! This is how they treat customers.
