When a customer is walking down an aisle don't make them move. You move! I'm shopping or was!

This Home Depot was clean, well organized, and had friendly staff. The issue I encountered was attempting to get a Home Depot charge card to take advantage of a finance offer. You would get shoveled off to multiple sites and god forbid you close anything and the dialogue seems to be incredibly convoluted and circular. Myself and a store sales person tried multiple attempts - I got pre-approved and actually approved, but the temporary card did not appear on the first attempts. Then one appeared on the 3rd try, but the sales system did not accept the number. The whole experience was awful. There was always a new problem popping up once you thought you were complete. Finally the manager came over (could not fix the issue) but did offer some markdowns. I ended up not using a Home Depot card, just a personal credit card. I missed out on the generous finance terms (0% for a year) and wasted 2 hours of my time, but the manager gave me some markdowns, so all ended up well. The sales associate and manager were very apologetic. I strongly suggest you go through the HD credit card process from home BEFORE you go to the store. the instore credit app process is seriously broken. Again, no problem with the physical store or staff - all fine. But the current state of the credit process will make you want to leave and go to a competitor. I hope this comment gets passed up thru HD management. IMO, they have a business-threatening situation on their hands. read more

Home Depot is a special trip North for me, Lowes is way closer to home. I went to HD looking to duplicate a tool belt pocket I had purchased up north. Imagine my surprise when they had such a large selection of patio furniture, which we have been shopping for. Lowes doesn't have much, nor Bjg Lots, and all the " draw up a comfy chair and order with me" places are ghastly expensive. So this review has nothing to do with how crooked the 2 x 4s are or are not, and I didn't walk in looking for patio furniture, but we ended up buying there, so bravo read more

home depot has just lost my business forever! i will never shop there again! i really hope i can educate people not to shop there. we relocated from illinois to florida and where i lived in mattoon, il home depot was the only home improvement store we had without driving 45 minutes to be able to go to menards which was 45 minutes from our house which was in effingham illinois. we almost got scammed on home depots free installation on carpet and tile for our house. it is a scam. they charge you to come out to the house to do measements. saved thousands of dollars by going to a local flooring company compared to home depots free installation. bought new samsung appliances their previous to the carpet scam. later found out samsung didnt have a service center that covered mattoon illinois and fought with samsung over six months to cover a defective ice maker that they told me they would cover if i paid to have a local appliance repair shop fix. after calling and emailing samsung and doing bad reviews they surprisingly sent me a check. this is the very last straw with home depot! their free water test scam with florida water and air. a simple water test almost cost us 8k. they send a representative to your house and try to sell you a system give you a free international trip. free chemicals etc. after the representative left the house we looked at florida water and air reviews and found out it was basically a scam. called home depot's credit card department 12month same as cash and was lucky enough florida water and air had not processed the 8k on our account and we were able to cancel the credit card before the system was to be installed the very next day. that was a red flag to me after signing the contract. i will not ever shop at home depot again! i really hope this post helps others from being scammed from home depot! i really hope they go bankrupt with their unethical business practices! the whole demonstration on the water was suppose to take 20 minutes and it took over two hours and was suppose to get a free gift card for the presentation which wasnt given to me either! read more

If you're a veteran, go to Lowes. They CLAIM to offer veteran's discount, but send you to a sheerID which does not list Home Depot as a buisness. Therefore, you're out of luck. We had 24 windows installed and two sliding doors installed windows 5 star Home Depot 3 stars. we had to fight to get promised produts Don the first contractor showed up and didnt know they were supposed to install trim than didn't seal half of it than came back and did a sloppy job. Sea of glass came in for replacement of damaged windows was awesome high quality work . Ordered windows in October finally with all the come backs finished in April. Never got a final walk thru either had to install my window plugs after inspection. Get everything in writing and no inspection till complete. read more

My Home Depot Kitchen Cabinets I don't normally make many posts on Facebook but I am so enraged with our experience purchasing kitchen cabinets, I feel compelled to warn everyone to not order cabinets on line from Home Depot. I will be posting our horrific on every social media platform available. Your guarantee is worthless and your employees they outright lie. The delivery date was a fairytale and then they claimed they attempted delivery and did not. 1 was short and never shipped Another was mysteriously cancelled (not by us) and shipped back. Every other cabinet came with some sort of damage that we were left to repair after my husband had to drive to 2 hours each way to their terminal and pickup the cabinets (already weeks late). Two of the cabinet same non repairable door damage. We contacted Hampton Bay (owned by Home Depot) with pictures and they approved the claim. We were told 2 new doors would be shipped in 4-6 weeks. It's now well over that no doors have arrived. Our new kitchen looks like hell. Upon calling today I was informed that they have no product and we were not getting anything. If I was able I would rip out all these cabinets and burn them in the Home Depot's parking lot. Every cabinet for this job arrived with some sort of damage. Unacceptable service. I am telling everyone to AVOID THIS PRODUCT AND THIS COMPANY. We spent thousands of dollars and every cabinet was late and damaged. Your customer service is a nightmare that has been going on for 3 months.   I grew up on Home Depot and will never ever buy another thing in any of your stores. Horrible Customer Service We purchased 3 under counter lights for our kitchen at the Lady lake Home Depot . It was little while before we were able to unpack and install them. When we took one out to install it we realized it would not fit in the area we wanted. Again, it was a few weeks before we were able to get back to HomeDepot to try to return them. Unfortunately, in the time period we misplaced the receipt. The manage refused to take them back or offer an exchange, refund or anything. My husband actually worked at several Home Depots in Florida and Georgia and he could not believe that they were refusing to do anything at all. They said without a receipt they could NOT do anything. They have never been used or installed and all 3 are in their original packaging. It is VERY BAD customer service by Home Depot. I know my husband still has contact with Home Depot Corporate in Georgia but he refuses to call anyone. He does not want to cause problems for anyone. We spent over $135 for these lights and we just want a refund or store credit. My husband is so upset he said he will NEVER shop at Home Depot again. He worked at Home Depot for over 25 YEARS. It is crazy that they do not want to help customers or former employees. We will shop al Lowes from now on and I am sharing this with everyone we know. Was in need of a over the range microwave so I went to Home Depot to find they had a huge selection. Unfortunately I was assisted by their "micro wave" specialist. He told me none of his units would fit my space because they were taller than the one I was replacing. He said he has installed units for years, was familiar with the unit I would be replacing. I had measured the opening and found the width and depth of almost all his units would fit, but he told me he was an expert and that none of his 20+ units would fit. I bought the same unit I wanted at Home Depot at Sears. Got it on sale, and it took the installer 10 minutes to change out the ovens as he was able to use the same frame from the old unit. Buyer beware if purchase a special order. I ordered six windows and paid in full for six windows in April. In July six windows were installed but only 5 windows were the quality windows I ordered. The other window was not what I ordered and was lessor quality. The window wasn't even rated for Florida. The salesman who was onsite for the install and the installer both promised they would make it right but months later you are hearing empty promises before all communication ceases. I escalate the issue to their supervisors who point their fingers at each other, the sales supervisor claims it is an install issue and the install supervisor plays dumb. After two months with no communication, I go in person and speak to the assistant store mgr who politely listens to my story and states she is shocked and disappointed and promises she will get to the bottom of it and call me by 5 p.m. Surprise no call back. I escalate it to the store manager who is hearing this issue for the first time and promises to send out an email to the supervisor bosses. He actually did what he promised. I receive a call from a nice lady at corporate that afternoon who states she will look into my issue and call me back the next day. No call back, so I call her. She states she is still looking in to it and will call me back the next morning. No call back, I call her and she says my correct window was reordered in August and it has to be in one of their warehouses, just not sure which warehouse but when they locate my window she will put me first on the list for install. We purchased carpet and and vinyl flooring. The purchasing process was fine, but we called the installation people multiple times and get no call back. We were told that the process is going to take 4-6 weeks from the time we paid for the floors, but the installation manager refused to agree to this terms after the purchased was done. There was nothing custom about the order or the install. We left multiple messages to find out if worth receiving product if they cannot install in timely manner, but never got a call back. When called and talk to store management we were told to accept the product and they will work on the install time. That did not happened. We are still struggling now to return floors. When they scheduled the return their truck did not come at all. I think Home Depot should have a better process, and their installation team should inform them about their true capacity to perform or Not perform a job. read more

Bob in the paint department is horrible at customer service. He changed his story as to why he couldn't "shoot a color". I get rules are rules but two different stories - no. I've seen him in action like this numerous times since August 2021 and will walk around until someone else in paint is available. My husband didn't know this until dealing w Bob Dec 6 2021. He's a horrible representative for Home Depot. Kudos for working Bob but you need to go somewhere - maybe in an office or warehouse ALONE. I really like this location. When I first started coming, I was shocked to actually be approached for help. In L.A. and in the NE, you generally have to hunt down an associate to help, so not having to seek it out was a welcome change. This is my first stop when buying plants too. I start here and then fan out to the nurseries for more specialized items. But, I am nearly always able to purchase the majority of my plants here in a fairly relaxed environment. Hydrangeas are a deal now at $16.99 vs about $30 in the NYC area. It's also my go to place to keep my voracious song birds happy. I think I saw a hawk staring from on high figuring out if he could come eat some of the food buffet for them too - lol! read more

Bought a microwave and was to be delivered and installed. They just delivered and told us he doesn't install even though I paid for installation. Paid extra for their home "scheduled delivery". No call, no show. Twice in a row. Still waiting for my items. Also, 2 weeks ago paid for a new garage door opener with professional installations, not one single call from them yet to schedule the installation. When I call their installer's number it goes to voicemail every time. They never return the calls. This is FRAUD! They pocketed my money and refuse to do anything about it. Filed a case with the BBB but what good will that do to a company that clearly doesn't care at all about their customers. This is an unusual post for me. Since renovating my home the Home Depot in Lady Lake Florida has actually begun a relationship with me. Six months ago I would've given it two stars but now it's perfect especially the paint department This this large home improvement store has gone through a metamorphoses evolving from a second rate store in my opinion to one that I frequent almost daily. The paint department has a gentleman named Ed who not only knows his stuff but is willing to go the extra mile to help you. The store is clean and well stocked the parking is easy and an extra benefit is a little hotdog stand they have at the entrance. Bought a Samsung dryer online from the store in Lady Lake Florida. When delivered, the door swing was on the wrong side, opposite from the website picture. Called the 800 number on the card the delivery man gave me and spoke with Martha. She gave a 10 day out date for changing door swing, asked to speak to her supervisor. Supervisor Robin wouldn't help me and made the situation worse. They won't change door swing, would not return the dryer, I was stuck with it. Robin was transferring me to the store manager and of course cut me off! Called the store directly and spoke with Ashton, whom really wasn't in the store was on HOMEDEPOT.COM!!! Our hot water heater broke. So we went online and ordered a new one from Home Depot. We found an installer who went and picked it up after we purchased. The gas company has a rebate program and I needed the receipt for the water heater.Online it said I would be sent a thank you note and a receipt. A bit of a late review....moving has been chaotic! Hence my trip to the Home Depot. I literally have been to this location almost daily for a couple of weeks. I happened to purchase the wrong toll needed for weeding. I did move form a condo to a home with acreage. I am also assisting my parents so was asked to get a weed tool...I apparently heard a yard hoe. Anyway went to return it and when reached customer service. The gentleman with the bald head was quite condensing towards me when I told him I purchased wrong item and was going to purchase other items so didn't need cash just an exchange with a suite credit. He quite rudely told me if I'm not buying same thing NOT and exchange. While I have had 15 years retail management experience I was well aware I wasn't doing an even exchange. Anyway....was very rude almost slapping my cash back in my hand and didn't even say a word like....thank you, have a nice day, come back....So since Lowe's is actually closer IS my new go to and if they don't have it.....I just got to a different Home Depot. Approximately 3 weeks ago my wife placed an order online for a washer/dryer set to be delivered at home. The original date of delivery when she looked online was a few days away. When we used my debit card to pay the delivery date was automatically changed to several weeks later. When we realized that on our confirmation email we called and were explained that based on our delivery zipcode that was the only date available and that the system likely used a previous address we used (only a few miles away). We asked to cancel the order as we need a washer (summer in Florida and guests visiting from out of town). While the order was canceled right away it took about 5 days for the money to be returned. Next we went to the local Home Depot store about 2 miles away from our delivery address. We purchased a washer/dryer set (same as we ordered online) but this time the delivery date was just a week away (instead of several - same products, same company, same address). The set was delivered this Saturday, however washer does NOT work. Called the 800 number and reported the issue. We've been told that being a long weekend and the product is Samsung, we have to call back on Tuesday (today) to ask for a replacement. Out of an abundance of caution I went to the store on Sunday morning to make sure the issue is reported (as requested by the delivery papers - report any issues withing 48 hours from delivery). The sales associate put everything in the system and assured me the issue will be dealt with on Tuesday when I do have to call again. Today, Tuesday, I called and was hunged up the first time. Second time I spent 40 min on the phone with customer service at Home Depot and Samsung. Was told replacement will be delivered on 7th, then on 11th. I agreed. However later they called back to push replacement for the 20th. Unacceptable after being lied too many times. Store manager Torres refuses to issue a refund and pick up faulty equipment This is not an issue over a complain of wrong color, scratches, appliance not working ideally, this is an issue about paying for a product and being delivered a non working product. Refusal to replace in a reasonable time or to refund the money. While attempting multiple times to be polite, respectful, patient with the people who are supposed to fix these issues, now is time to make official complains to the FL AG - CPB, BBB and look for all legal options. read more

I take my mother here periodically for her honey do list for me when I visit her during the holidays. Folks are helpful. Prices are reasonable. The place is huge. I bought a brand new washer and dryer this past Sunday and was told that it included free delivery, sweet right. I asked about times of delivery and the cashier/sales assistant asked "what time would work?" So I said " as late as possible." He suggested 5 o' clock and I agreed upon that time. Now currently I received a call that my order will be here tomorrow, close to 5 o' clock, 24 hours notice right! ; sweet! Not at all! I received a call with 17 hours notice, not the 24 hour guaranteed time. Also the delivery is set between the times of 10am and 2pm. So I called to reschedule it for a later time figuring it was an overruled decision by logistic. So I called the delivery staff team for this location and Nope those are the only delivery times, therefore i was lied to by the sales representative. I also inquired about picking up the appliances from the store directly during my leisure time. The options I was given was to cancel the order then re order for curbside pick up. A hassle right? Needless to say the appliance sales staff are not properly trained, nor is there a way to reschedule for a later time. Just remember to not trust any words given from Home Depot staff as they are not well fit for the job taken. Thank you for the read I hope it was helpful. How much greed is necessary to be successful in business? Went to the HD for a microwave. Clerk said nothing is in stock and will have to be ordered. A ton of space to sell not enough space for customer service to pick-up. But wait, HD has an option: You CAN NOT PICKUP and item it has to be delivered for $60.00. What a unique (and stupid) business decision. Why would I pay for the delivery? Went across the street to Best Buy and bought the same unit with in-store pick-up, no delivery charge, PLUS BB gave us a 10% Veterans discount. I will never patronize HD again. read more

Usually purchase appliances at Lowes, never have had a problem, if you are not happy with a purchase, they take it back no questions asked and help get what you need/want. However, needed new upright freezer, and the pandemic has really limited the selection, so tried HD for first time. What a horrible mistake. Freezer came and the delivery & hook up men were just excellent. However, when they left I reached for the direction booklet they had torn from the packaging and put on top of the new unit. I immediately realized there was no KEY ! Very unusual ! Then, when I looked closely at the plastic envelope it was obvious what happened.... it was torn on one side and the key had obviously dropped out and was swept away with the packaging (they did clean up all carton packaging). I tired to wave down the truck at the end of the block, but they were off to the next stop. I called the number they have given me if there were any "problems". I called and explained and asked if they could reach them in the truck before they got too far from the area ? "Oh, certainly" I was told, They will call you when I get in touch with them. An hour passed, nothing. Called again, this time not "sunny" but "Steve", WHO told you that was the nasty self serving question. "She said her name was Sunny" I said. "I have NO Idea who that is". So I explain AGAIN. This went on FOUR times over 3 hours. The last 3 would not even try to help. I got in my auto and drove to the store. One employee said she could not help but know someone who could. Waited for that person 30 minutes due to break time. He came, said he had NO IDEA what they would tell me he could help ! ? He gave me number of GE and said, once delivered we have NOTHING to do with it any more, it's G.E.'s problem from there. For the life of me I could not internalize such an irrational way of thinking ! HOW could G.E. be involved in ANY WAY when two delivery men made a mistake by making a small rip in the side of a package and the key fell and was (it appears?) taken away with the packaging. G. E. could not be responsible in any way.... but it was the COMPLETELY uncaring in even the smallest way on the part of ALL the individuals in "customer service", or in the actual appliance department in person, and of Home Depot in general. NEVER AGAIN, NEVER NEVER. Can't believe there could be so much different between HD and Lowes ! read more
