Home Depot is a store where if you need anything at all home wise (it's literally in the name) or for gardening/outdoor stuff there's a 99% chance you'll find it here, or even a couple variations. I like this South Florida Home Depot- it's consistently busy but doesn't feel overwhelming or overstimulating like some store locations. This is a place I come to for most of my plant needs and it's always fun walking around their outdoor area. One of the older men that works there is just a charm. I wish I had gotten his name, but he's a veteran and just happy to be there- you can't help but smile because of him. With all Home Depot's I do wish their prices overall were just a little lower. But maybe in hindsight that's not such a bad thing or else I'd go more often and walk out with more items and a lighter bank account. I guess that's just how it goes. read more

Greg from the paint department at the location on 98 North went above and beyond to be helpful and polite. We were purchasing sand bags and he helped us to locate them, brought us a cart, and then proceeded to help us load them into the car. He was very helpful and efficient. I ordered a large item that was delivered to the store yesterday. The tracking did not update so I called the store. Speaking with the supervisor. She could not be bothered by my request to verify my item was there. She recommended that I call the next day. When I refused she stated she can't check right now because they are unloading a truck. She would call me at 9pm to inform me if my item has arrived. I called back and asked for the manager. He had no problem checking. Even stated that the supervisor was back there checking when he went back there. She went to do her job because I was speaking to her boss. This is an expensive item that was expected on Saturday. Everyone else did their job by delivering it on time. This supervisor decided she had something more important to do and completely discounted me as a customer. I plan on closing my account and shopping at Lowe's. read more

Ordered a dryer with a Saturday delivery. Received confirmation that they were 2 stops away. They never arrived- Waited home all Saturday for nothing. When called was told they were out of item at the warehouse and it was never going to be delivered. Worst customer service ever!!! read more

I guess I'm officially old, because I find myself saying, "I remember when ____ ," pretty frequently. Well this memory is about hardware stores, and that every employee used to know everything there was to know about their store, but now, to answer a question as simple as, "Which aisle has paint?" sends employees straight to their phones to look up the answer. Worse than that, one time when I asked a guy for some help cutting some plywood, he told me that he was too busy and it would be quite a before he could help me, and when I asked when a better time would be to come back, he told me there wasn't one. That's basically the level of "help" I've come to expect from Home Depot employees....except for one. I'm working on a camper van conversion that requires all sorts of random little odds and ends, and the ONE employee I've been able to count on for help is a man named Jim (older gentleman with a Scottish accent). No matter what obscure screw or fixture or whatever I happen to be looking for, he's able to decipher my ill-informed rambling and lead me right to it....all without checking his phone. Do whatever you need to do to keep this man on staff, Home Depot; he's a superstar! As for my rating, I removed one star for the mediocre to poor customer service I've received, and a second star for the fact that I've frequently seen employees wearing their face masks improperly, and the mask requirement for customers isn't enforced at all. I shopped at this Home Depot yesterday. the purchase was seamless on my part due to the knowledge & guidance Nick G (known as big Nick). following the purchase, I mentioned that I was hoping to be able to haul all of the garden items in my new SUV. Took my dresser drawer in so I could get paint matched up. The girl at the paint dept looked at me and said it's tough to match up black paint and that when she tries, it looks grey. I let that one pass and asked her what kinda finish it was. She showed me a sample of the finishes available and said what one did I think it was. Well... I'm not the most knowledgeable about paints and finishes. That's why I use your paint dept. well used to anyway. Very disappointed in this particular Home Depot. read more

Always have gone with Home Depot over the other guys my entire life. Just had 4 broken dish washers delivered one after another. All broken upon delivery. Of course went with Home Depot for the installation, why wouldn't I right? Wrong!! After many false promises to make it right, we finally went with a different model and sure enough, it won't dry the dishes, never did. Now they want to send us someone to fix this brand new machine that we paid top $ for. The employees consider us a joke already and have lost interest in helping. It's just your normal Home Depot however the employees are very nice and they always have what I need when I go there. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because all too often there are more employees in the self checkout lane attending to people than there is at the regular checkout registers. Seems counterproductive to have only 2-3 out of like 8 registers open while there are 3-4 employees in the self checkout area. read more

My wife and I ordered new floors for our home. The entire process was an unprofessional disaster and we will never shop at this or any other Home Depot again. The day the delivery men were scheduled to deliver the product to our home, they called my wife and flat out refused to deliver as we had scheduled, because the driver had finished the rest of his deliveries for the day and "wanted to go home." When my wife tried to negotiate with him, he threatened to cancel our order. So I called a manager and demanded they deliver as scheduled. They still didn't show up when they said they would. The contractors called the day before they were scheduled to begin the work and said they had to reschedule. When the work did begin, they realized nearly 90% of the product was defective. I contacted the Home Depot store manager and explained everything that had happened so far and that we expected compensation for all we had to put up with. He was unsympathetic and said "I don't know what you were expecting" and "it sounds to me like you have it resolved." When the product was delivered a second time, it was even more defective than the first, so obviously no one checked it to make sure it was acceptable. Eventually, our floor project was completed, but what should have taken a week tops turned into a month-long nightmare. read more

This Home Depot, has always been my "go to" store for most of my homeowner needs, but that will no longer be the case. I was on the market for a new washer and dryer, and HD usually has good deals, and ADVERTISE they will meet competition prices. Well that is a lie. Earlier the same day, I had stopped at Lowes and checked their appliance deals. They had a matching washer and dryer on special for $649.99 each, but since I have a HD credit card, and many times they offer a special discount or financing on large purchases, I decided to wait and check HD. They had the exact same models on special for $699.00, a difference of $50.00 I asked about price matching and showed the associate a picture on my phone of the sign on the machines at Lowes. He then told me he could only match the price in Lowes website, which came up as $699.99... while sitting in HD, I called Lowes, and they told me the internet price was different than the in store price, but verified the price was in fact $649.99 After the associate called his manager, he offered a compromise of $25.00 off each. I left the store and wished him a good day. I then went back to Lowes, purchased the pair and got not only the better price, but an additional 5% off for opening a credit account, another $100.00 off for my first major purchase on the account, and a certificate from the power company for $150.00 credit on my power bill for Energy efficient machine purchase. (Home Depot never mentioned or offered the certificate) So even though a bit further to drive, Lowes will now get ALL of my home center business. read more

The guy in the electrical department today (6/23/19) was totally rude and condescending when we were asking him about an electrical plug. He was no help at all and acted like we were a bother to him. Usually the employees are nice and helpful at this location but this guy is the exception. We are there every weekend but decided just to leave this location and visit another store that could assist us in our project. We spend a substantial amount of money at Home Depot and don't deserve to be treated like we are idiots just because we ask a question to one of their associates. read more

I called the cabinet department and discussed with the sales associate what I was interested in doing. I was asked to email pictures of both my kitchen and what I wanted to do regarding the upgrading. Never heard back! No email or phone call! I decided to take my business elsewhere! South of Lakeland almost to Mulberry, this Home Depot is a little more laid back than the north side and sometimes you can find what you didn't up there. Great patio/outdoor section compared to competitiors (Lowes, Walmart, Target). However, they display it ABOVE you so you can't "sit" on it! Poor service, assistance. This is the responsibility of management visibility, nurturing or rules. Poor help in their large, nice garden shop. Great rug section--of course no one for help. HOME DEPOT sucks and does not care about their customers at all.... every time we have bought an appliance or special ordered something from home depot it has been nothing but errors on their end and they do NOTHING to try to make it right...I bought a fridge that was to be delivered 12-10-16 it is going into cabinets, the fridge was not level when they brought it here and the kids delivering it had no idea how to level it they told me the best thing to do was refuse it and reschedule and tell them i needed some one that knows how to level a fridge to do the delivery. I called the delivery company and they scheduled it for delivery 12-17-16. I received a call the evening of 12-16-16 giving me a delivery time of 10am to 2 pm 12-17-16. at 2:30 i had not heard from them so called, the rep told me it was still open and she would see where the truck was to give me an idea of how much longer, she came back and said the order was canceled, she had no idea by whom or why and i would need to go back to home depot and repurchase the fridge. i called the store and spoke to the manager Mike he told me it was showing in his system that it had been delivered. he said he would make a phone call and call me back. about 20 minutes later i received a phone call from Martha at the store (guess mike was to busy to call me back) she told me she did not know what happened the order was still showing open but someone typed the word Cancel in the notes so it was canceled she told me she could have it delivered Wednesday but could not request a time frame. i told her i work and now have to take time off work because of their error she said nothing she could do. I called their corporate office and spoke to Brian he told me the delivery company showed it still on the truck for delivery today. He called them back and they told him no they do not have the fridge the best he could do for me was put a note on the order "requesting" a late day delivery. some customer service In addition the sales person told me that i could get 24 months interest free financing if I opened up a hd charge account, there are signs up saying you get 24 months on appliance purchases, they have it on their website. But tonight I looked into the charge account it show 6 months when i contact customer service they tell me its because the sales person gave me a $25 credit for opening up a new account.... never once did he tell me it was one or another...WHAT A SCAM...i will be canceling this purchase tomorrow and never ever shopping HD again... and I sent an email to hd but have not heard anything.. And when you call every person that you talk with gives you a different answer and none of them are right. Then they say we will call you back and they don't. Home Depot finally did it, and lucky us it is here in Lakeland! The first complete autonomous store. No management, no employees, you do it all yourself!! Of course, as a result there is no customer service whatsoever, so come on in and good luck in finding anything in the resulting disorganized mess. But at least you will not be pestered by employees or check-out clerks (despite have a half dozen or so check-out lines, they are actually only for show, you will need to do it yourself). Well done, Home Depot, you rock. Next improvement I would suggest is removal of the roof. That way everything is open to natural sunshine (think of the electrical savings) and let mother nature take care of the air-conditioning. If you are planing on using your military discount be careful because they pick and choose who they want to give it to. I was refused mine but the person behind me was able to use theirs.
