The customer service here is really good, especially when dealing with a questionable return. I had to go back here to return an item and there had been one where I scanned it twice (this could happen to you in self check out). I ended up scanning all the items I wanted to buy, but I was not sure if I had scanned one item because I left it on the scanner side instead of putting it on the bag side. This would be questionable because there is no proof that you had only bought one. If you bring it back after a week, it would look as if you bought two and then wanted to get $ back off the transaction by having them take it off. I felt like I was treated like an honest customer because of this and really, it could have gone either way. Again, where is the proof? I did not have the item with me and had I brought back the original brush, there is only one brush to account for. These are the problems with self checkouts and really, the customer has to be the one to make sure to check their receipt before leaving any kiosk. read more

I just stopped by the Home Depot this afternoon to grab a tire pressure gauge to check one of my tires and decided that I would in fact need a pump as well. During checkout a very friendly and helpful employee named Joe kindly asked if I had a flat tire and needed any help. I said I didn't have a flat but the pressure gauge at the gas station was not working right so I wasn't sure how much air my tires needed given the major fluxes in temperature the last few days. He helped me pick out a high quality pump that was a great price ($40) and then when I asked if I could take him up on his offer he said of course and then proceeded to help me get my tires pumped and learn how to use the new pump. They only had one station open and there was some problem with the lady in the front of the line. The line didn't move for 15 min so I sat down my items and left. I rented a shampooer from the Turfland location and they did not have an upholstery arm. So I called the Richmond Road location and they had one and could not read it to me unless I took the shampooer back to Turfland and came to them and did the whole process over again. I even offered to pay additional for the arm or bring in my receipt to show. I was renting it from Turfland. I even offered to make sure to return the arm to that store. Any company that I've ever worked for in Lexington that had another store in the area, we were always able to enter change inventory. The lady on phone was rude. read more

It first took over 30 minutes to find someone to help my dad and I find the cabinets he saw on line. When we finally tracked down the guy he said the cabinet we wanted wasn't in stock so we had to order it. The biggest problem was when checking out my dad who is a Vietnam vet was not given his discount because it wasn't in stock and had to be ordered online. Really Home Depot!!! I recently had a return and stood dutifully in line as expected. When my turn came, the customer service representative instead took a customer accompanied by a garden department worker who bypassed the line. That customer was apparently buying a grill to be picked up later and the transaction was complicated and time consuming. When my turn came, I mentioned that I should have been next. The cashier was indifferent and basically said get over it. A simple apology would have gone a long way but she had a haughty attitude instead. I would say that I would go to Lowe's next time they have such turnover at Home Depot, I am sure she will not be there next time. read more

DO NOT USE CURBSIDE PICK UP FOR LARGE ORDERS Twice I have used this service and twice the employees left out pieces and we had to go back and tell them. Most recently I bought a couch online, picked it up, and was given one box. We asked the young man if there was a second box and he said no. We pushed further (there's no way a sectional couch can fit in one box, right?) and he rudely still said no. Could not be bothered to double check. Come to find out when we got home that there was indeed, another box. We had to go back to the store and pick up the piece (which was extremely inconvenient considering I live 45 minutes away). I wish that when you go through the self check out that you didn't have to deal with the employee standing over your shoulder. If you are afraid that someone is going to steal something or not scan it then maybe you should do like most stores do, Use security cameras to make sure that does that doesn't happen or take out the self scans. I had to ask the employee to move so we could get to the register. Then he stood directly behind us. This made me uncomfortable. I love this store because they don't allow pets unless it is a dog for the blind. I would hate to think that you need someone to stand over the customer's shoulders at the self check outs. Please let the employees know that if help is needed they will be asked by the customer. This is the second time this has happened. I hope I don't have a third time. read more

Of the numerous store associates we encountered as my wife and I strolled around the store looking at items to furnish our new house, not a one asked, if we needed help. And the one associated I did ask for help with regarding wooden fencing acted like I was an imposition. Anytime that I've ever visited either one of our two Lexington Home Depot locations, I've always immediately made my way to Lowes afterward. This location is off of Richmond Road, on the Southland Christian Church campus area that used to by Lexington Mall. A strange fact is that the other HD location is on the old Turfland Mall property. One of my new year resolutions is home improvement, so I've spent a lot of time shopping at both HD locations and of course Lowes locations. My latest trip to this location was for bathroom lighting. Not only did nothing appeal to me here, but there weren't near the options here as there are at Lowes. Why? It's just as big as Lowes. So, we headed over to Lowes and low and behold, Lowes had the perfect fixture. Step it up Home Depot. I'd like to have a one-stop home improvement store. read more

The employees are not wearing mask and they had a spray bottle with 1 dirty rag to wipe off your shopping cart. I spoke to a manager Debra and she said they rinse off the 1 rag during the day or can get a new one in the back. Employees were helping customers standing less than 6 ft apart and they were not wearing a mask. This is a health issue not just for the employee but for the customer. After leaving Home Depot we went to Lowes and they were wiping down the carts plus had hand sanitizer and wearing mask! Thank you Lowes for thinking of your employees and customers! Washer and dryer purchase was a nightmare. The (initial) delivery was 5 days late. The crew had no clue how to install; they did not arrive with the necessary parts and had no tools. The wahser leaked, and the 800 number for Electrolux was met with a recording: "Due to heavy call volumes, we cannot take calls at this time." Trying to get the defetive installation straightened out became extremely frustrated. After weeks of multiple calls and having to purchase parts ourselves, we finally got it going. Home Depot's final insult was a token reduction in the price. (Indeed one assistnat manager was synpathetic and tried to be helpful.) We had purchased appliances previously from Home Depot, whcih went fine. This washer and dryer, however, was a major fail and the persistent blaming it on their installation contractor was tiresome. read more

I went into the Home Depot Garden Department today and was helped by the greatest work duo I have ever seen. Andy and Sam answered all of my questions, got me all the products I needed and brilliantly performed on the forklift, reach truck, Order picker, and ballymore. The best part was how accurate and efficient they were with every little thing. I wish employees everywhere had the special bond and work ethic of these two. I would give Home Depot a 0 if I could. I ordered a washer and dryer and from the order process on it has been a nightmare! Home Depot online is not trained well on appliances. After 4 hours on the phone I was able to get it ordered. They delivered the dryer and dropped the washer getting it off the truck. Shattered the tempered glass door. Came back for the 2nd time 2 weeks later and didn't have the pedestal we bought for it to be installed (necessary for our 2nd floor laundry room). Came today for the 3rd time Timmons didn't have the washing machine in the truck!!! I will forever go back to Lowe's and never deal with Home Depot again! read more

Great store with a great selection of outdoor power equipment. I recently purchased a new self propelled push mower. Kelvin Shoopman was the most knowledgeable employee I've ever encountered at a home improvement store. He had an answer to every question I had and more importantly, he listened to me when I told him what I needed. Great service, great employees and I'm so glad I let Kelvin guide me in the right direction for my law mowing needs! I also shop online with The Home Depot frequently, and this store is so easy to deal with in regards to order pickup, delivery or returns. We've lived near this Home Depot for almost a year and have always found the staff to be extremely helpful. Can find pretty much anything you need. Went in today for some mattress bags as we're putting a bed into storage and the first guy that saw us as we walked in asked if he could help us. I paid an expedited shipping fee on top of my shipping to ensure that I received my product today. As I kept track of my delivery throughout the day, I saw where the package had made it from Lexington to Somerset at 10:14am..Where it sat at that status all day...at 8pm when I realized I wasn't going to get this delivery (as it was past my scheduled delivery) I called this store on Richmond Road to check what had happened. The associate told me, that they actually never attempted to deliver the product. It's still in Lexington. So this store stole my delivery money, didn't attempt to make the delivery I paid for, AND lied about it by marking that it had tried to come to somerset and deliver. The girl on the phone was extremely nice in being honest, but it all still is incredibly frustrating to lose that money. I've been rescheduled for a delivery tomorrow and told They'd "mark down" some of my delivery fee once it was delivered. So didn't even try to correct it. If you order online you will pay $79 for Express Delivery to your home which I believe is an oxymoron. I ordered $290 worth of mulch and straw on April 17,2020. Finally after calling them twice and staying on hold each time for at least 30 minutes they scheduled my delivery for 5/19/2020mind you they charged my card on 4/17/2020. Never did they call me or send me an email to arrange delivery instead I had to call them. When they finally delivered this morning 5/19 they were short on my delivery. The driver wasn't sure why. Again I was on hold over 30 minutes until I finally reached a person who asked if I would like to pick up the missing 7 items at the store. I replied absolutely not as I had paid for delivery and expected delivery of the entire order they had charged my card for. They transferred me to the store manager who was "in a meeting" and a service desk person assured me he would call me back. Six hours later another service desk person called me to state the manager asked them to call me. I went through the problem again and was asked again if I would pick up the missing items at the store. No and no I insisted I wanted them delivered as promised. She told me she would have to check and call me back. No call back. It's past the time to stop the credit card payment and so far another 2 hours has passed with no call back. Tomorrow I will start over with calls again and be on hold again. Do not buy from them unless you have hours to Kill and like throwing your money away. Go to Lowes as I will in the future. read more

Home Depot custom closet installation is not what it seems. The sub-contractor is actually K & P Enterprises out of Knoxville, TN. My project, $8000.00) of a custom closet took over 6 months. To begin they required full payment up front which I only did because the salesman assured me that it is really Home Depot doing the work, not a sub-contractor. That was not true. After 3 months, I learned that they had lost the closet parts. When they were, after another month found, they finally sent an inexperienced worker who was repeatedly very late or just didn't show up. He also found ways to add additional expense to the project but didn't even repair the walls where the old shelves were removed. The entire project once finally started still took weeks to complete with more problems. The closet is not that special for $8000.00, just ok. When I complained, Home Depot kept referring me to K & P and did nothing to resolve the issues. For all the aggravation, K & P only offered me a paltry 10% refund, and nothing from Home Depot. And that was conditioned on me signing a non-disclosure agreement. I refused their offer and have had no further communication from them. Don't use either of these companies, and don't pay up front! read more

I needed to seal my driveway this year. After I found out Valspar doesn't make concrete sealer anymore I went to Home Depot to see what they had. I took my old can of concrete sealer and went to the paint desk to see what they had. I was informed that Behr makes a concrete sealer and I left my old can with them while they matched and mixed the colors. I picked my 5 gal cans and paid for them. The next day I was going to apply the sealer and discovered they weren't sealer . They mixed me up 5 gals of concrete stain. I called and they apologized for their mistake and I was told I would have to speak to a manager to get a refund. Should be no problem. Well, of course, I returned to the store and the manager told me they were comparable and refused to refund me for their mistake. I guess he thought I was dumb enough that I wouldn't know the difference, I simply left the stain with them since I could not use it and I will try to find somebody that understands how important customer service is!!!! read more

This is my first time going to a Home Depot and I'm not sure I ever want to go back, at least not to the one on Richmond Rd. I couldn't find anyone to help me, employees would walk by you and see you struggling to try to find something and not even bother asking you if you needed help and the one that did ask me if he could help, didn't even know the product I was looking for..The employees do not seem very knowledgeable & are not friendly. Everything was disorganized and when we ask a price on a drill set, they quoted us almost double the advertised price. Home Depot may have a better selection of tools but I think I'll stick with Lowe's. read more

Incompetent! Their carpet measuring guy gave wrong dimensions for every room in my house. The flooring people mixed up the orders. Their installation contractors are AWFUL. Go ANYWHERE else. You will be disappointed by your experience there. Oh, and did I mention they can't be trusted to return phone calls or even record information right? Plus, Marsha in flooring thinks that click installation is the same as nailing down because she will tell you that all your flooring can be installed one way when it has to be the other. Could not be more disappointed in my experience, and apparently I'm not alone because through talking to others, my experience is far from unique. read more

Literally been waiting all day on a Saturday for delivery to find out after waiting 8 hours, that our delivery has been pushed out another 2 hours. They helped us unload what we were returning and then helped us with the new stone, getting it down, and then loading it into our truck.
