needed some t-111. 12 sheets. It was waterlogged. The sales guy said he'd give me 30 percent off if I took 12 sheets. I loaded the heavy sheets on a cart, then this other old dude comes and says no way, they don't make any money at that discount. Since I had already loaded it , I said, how about 20 percent. He balked at that. Like it makes any difference to him. Wouldn't have pissed me off but I told the first guy that if he couldn't give me a break on it I didn't want it. I was going to have to dry it out before I could hang it because it weighed a ton. So I walked out and told them to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. I work for a roofing company and frequently come to this home depot while on kauai, and though ALL the pro services cashiers are so friendly and kind there is one cashier though named Georgia Lynn (head cashier) and she is so RUDE. She's always speaking bad about the other cashiers so all the customers and myself can hear. She also treats them bad and it's so hard to see that because the other cashiers are so kind and helpful. I've told the managers but they don't seem to care how Georgia treats the other workers. I hope something gets done soon because the other cashiers don't deserve to be treated that way. She's a bully and needs to know she can't treat people that way, those cashiers are someones mother and sister and grandmother working there to pay their bills. I've just read other reviews for the home depot kauai and more then Four other people have had a bad experience or have seen how badly Georgia Lynn treats other employees and customers. Home Depot you need to do better and Mona the (manager) you need to do better because i come into this store at least 3x a week and every single time Georgie lynn is so rude. read more

I really try to give businesses a second and third chance, but I've given The Home Depot maybe 20 chances to improve, being the largest hardware store on the island. But despite feedback, letters to managers, reviews--nothing changes much. I had questions about backsplash tile, but every employee tells me it's not their department. When I ask them to page for someone, they seemed to be too busy and occupied with something else. When the behavior doesn't change after so much feedback, I get second thoughts about spending my money here and funding toxic customer service. read more

Such a sad experience yesterday with Home Depot. The elder man I live with found out his wife had cancer 2 days ago. Yesterday we got a new stove. We were under the impression it would be installed. We understand that it was a miscommunication. But, he called Home Depot asking to speak to a manager, it was on speaker phone. He was upset. There was some male diva first who told him that he was wrong and the woman who sold it never said they would install it. He was so rude and then hung up on him. So this poor man stressed and heart broken called again and the diva handed the phone to some woman and she also hung up on him. In the future I hope Home Depot gets training in customer service. Or at least the 2 mean people on the phone. All he needed was an adult to talk to him kindly. Tell him it was a misunderstanding and say sorry. He's a reasonable guy. He's a human being. If you have a problem try to phone them and get help. They almost never answer their phone and, if they do, they will then transfer you t a department where no one will answer. This is my third day trying and, after the automated answer directed my call, I let the phone ring for an hour and finally hung up in frustration. I had a special order electric range that took 8 weeks to get deliver but came in totally damage. I have attached photos. I spoke with on person in the appliance department who told me they would have a manager call me as soon as they could see the returned item. I have not heard from anyone since then. read more

I called customer service 2x and someone picked up once sayin, "Yes, we do appliance delivery. That's all I know. Any other questions beyond that, I can't answer. You'd have to speak with someone in that department." Word to management: Have someone available to answer the phone or at the very least have them take down a message and call them back when they're not busy. Horrible for a Hoke Depot! So we just bought a brand new GE dryer from Home Depot, where we denied being up sold for HD's extra insurance. Literally one day after it was delivered and installed, and the first time we used it we realized the dryer was defective and didn't dry anything. Called Home Depot to inform them and they told us to work with GE directly because we "didn't buy their insurance, so they had no responsibility." Interesting business model for Home Depot to sell defective products and penalizing consumers because we didn't buy their insurance coverage! On top of all that, they have the nerve to ask us to take their customer service survey on the way out hahaha! What do they think we're going to say?! This is exactly what Sears and Kmart did to customers, and look what happened to them! Not only did they get run out of town and the country, but all their employees lost their jobs! I've lived on Oahu and on the mainland, and never had Home Depot treated me like this! Do what's right Home Depot or get rid of your employees who don't convince you to! read more

The girl that helped us order out refrigerator was helpful and nice. When ordering delivery or pick up, we decided to just pick it up because she said they would load it into our truck. 3 weeks later (it came in earlier, it was supposed to be late Aug but came in Jan 3rd) we go back to the store to pick it up and wait at the pickup spot. Then workers come out wit it on a trolley and leave it in front of our truck. The guy then says "you can lay it down but I would suggest loading it standing up" then was about to leave. We looked at each other like "how do you expect us to get it onto the truck?". It's not like we drive around with a forklift on hand. My dad had to ask him to load it onto the truck with the forklift and a pallet. But his reaction was as if we were asking to much. Even the girl that was directing with the flags made it seem like we were asking to much. I cannot believe they were really going to leave us there with no way of loading a 400lbs refrigerator in to a truck, when we were told that they would load it into our truck. The only reason you are getting 2 stars is because the seller was so nice and patient. read more

I said ok then when it was time for delivery I was told they couldn't do it cuz it required 4 people and they don't have 4 people. Told me after waiting half the day for delivery instead of letting me know early so I could make adjustments. When a cashier calls for someone to assist a customer with loading material into their truck or car, there is never anyone available. One star because there was the item I needed in stock, and transaction processed. I don't write reviews but I have time for this one today. I should have asked to be helped with someone who wasn't a passive aggressive, smart mouth who is unsatisfied with her own life to openly talk crap about customers/work associates while getting paid to tell customers they have nothing in stock, and need to be special ordered to avoid doing real work. I will call her - GAD6N5T/georgianna GAD6N5T/georgianna saw me looking around (aggesivly looking for an associate to help me) i'm assuming she could be a shift lead in the appliance department they way she was carrying herself (like her shit doesn't stink). Her greeting was less than pleasant, and while asking her simple questions about rages, and what was in stock I knew this was going to be one of THOSE type of transitions. GAD6N5T/georgianna was opening talking crap (to herself, might I add) about me and other customers in the appliance section. I had to ask over, and over if they had a cooktop in stock and what is the process of ordering either in the store, or online. Her explanation didn't make sense, it was like I was forcing her to do her job and look up what the warehouse had in stock. While searching inventory, a woman who was speaking with an older associate (god I wish she was the one who helped me) said "do you have anything lighter in weight" to which she started talking shit about the customer (to herself again). Yeah it doesn't make sense but why don't you focus on me standing in front of you, cuz I'm looking to drop 6 bills on a range? Then GAD6N5T/georgianna starts talking shit to another younger associate about me this time, repeating my questions about cooktops an laughing about it, as if I'm not literally 3 ft away and am deaf. For someone who talks like they know everything they are sure terrible at customer service, and communicating. We had ordered a dishwasher that had to be shipped from the mainland. It took 10 weeks for the dishwasher to be shipped and delivered to our condo. Our installation guy discovered it was damaged. Gordon, the Appliance Manager at Lihue HD, assigned Ivy to check their inventory and get us a replacement dishwasher delivered within 10 days. Gordon and Ivy were professional and helpful. They quickly resolved a stressful situation for us. Thank You!! read more

AVOID HOME DEPOT IF YOU ARE A VACATION RESIDENCE OWNER. Our dishwasher was scheduled for delivery yesterday. Never showed, no calls. FINALLY reached a real human being this morning who said the truck was "over-full" yesterday morning and could not fit ours in (apparently couldn't be bothered to even call -- let us sit for all day). Ordered an oven 2 months ago and still haven't received any information on when it will be delivered. So I tried calling Home Depot, waited 30 minutes (no answer) then called their head quarters. They told me my oven never shipped out, they're not sure why and will have someone get back to me tomorrow. I haven't been able to cook a meal in 2 months and it might be another 4-6 weeks minimum! Kauai Home Depot seems to be the only option for big appliances though..so be prepared for very limited customer service and possibly an extremely long waiting time for your order to arrive. read more

Are you kidding me? Contacting Home Depot in Lihue results in the worst service I ever received. Virtually every attempt to reach someone on the store to make a telephone order results in the message "All of our associates are busy, etc. - please stay on the line!" * While on hold one receives extremely loud and continuous and boring audio commercials which repeat over and over. Rarely does one get through to a associate. Today after 25 minutes on hold, I even had to have a customer service person at the Home Depot's main office try to get through to a real person. That worked after delays but then the computer of the Home Depot associate in Lihue would not accept my credit card's billing address which is a PO Box and is correct because we cannot get mail delivery where I live. After several tries he got the online people to try get the Home Depot's system to accept my (very good) credit card. I am now awaiting resolution of the billing address issue and am into over an hour waiting on their tortuous hold announcements in order to merely make a rather routine order to be shipped to the store. * Forget waterboarding as torture. Home Depot's endless litany of commercials while on hold surpasses waterboard torture by far, at least when considering I am only trying to give Home Depot business! It is hard to imagine service by a large company being worse than Home Depot's. read more

The third time I asked for a manager and then was informed they don't have what I'm looking for. Not even sure if that guy was a real manager or if they just didn't want to deal with my question. Absolute worst customer service at the Lihue Home Depot. I asked an employee named "Cary" where I could find aisle that another employee directed me to as he was walking by me and to my complete astonishment, He said, "I don't know" and kept walking. I said, "you don't know?" and he continued to walk away saying, "yep, not my department." I couldn't believe how rude he was! So, as I continued to walk around the store not knowing where to go, I asked two cashiers, who were just standing around and both of them looked at me with blank stares, didn't say a word and just pointed to the back of store. OMG! so I head to the back of the store looking for someone, anyone, to help me find a specific flooring aisle and bay number with no luck. So I headed to the appliance section and asked another employee who also pointed to the aisle which happened to be right next to where we were both standing. Finally, I found what I needed, but Geewizzz, employees at Lihue HD are absolutely clueless, rude, and unhelpful! I am not familiar with various tools, parts and pipes and a little help would've gone a long way. You'd think the employees would be a little more accommodating to seniors! read more

I went to HD to place an order for a flooring. When I got there, a couple was waiting for an employee to come back with the remaining floor they had pre-ordered. Now, 15 mins later, I asked the couple how long they had been waiting for the employee and they stated 20 mins prior to me getting there. That makes their wait time a total 35 minutes (couple expressed that when employee went to go look for their floor, she took off and didn't bother saying she'll be back, so they didn't know what was going on at this point). I go to the appliance department, which is right nextdoor, and about 6 employee girls were hanging around talking. Not one bothered to look up and even glance at me. I had to finally say "excuse me, could I get help in flooring?" to which an employee replied "sure, let me page someone for you." I head back to flooring to wait, still the couple in front of me waiting. I wait another 15 minutes (about 6 customers waiting now) and decide to walk to the front to get someone to come help. That employee walks back to flooring with me and pages the flooring employee one more time and 10 minutes later she shows up WITH THE BIGGEST ATTITUDE ever. Funny part is that the couple who was waiting for their remaining order was turned away because their shipment didn't make it onto the barge (yet they were notified floor was in). When it was my turn I showed the employee with an attitude the order I wanted to place and her response was "It's going to be expensive, you know?" and I said it was fine. Her next comment was "well this is considered a special order so there's no refunds, are you sure?" I again said yes, it's fine (it's no business of the cashier to question how much I spend or can afford, mind you all this was spoken with attitude in her voice). In short, I waited for almost an HOUR to get any sort of help!! You might ask, why would you wait that long? Because that's the only option we've got here on Kauai. The only positive thing I have to say about this one of many crappy encounters with HD is that our flooring came in sooner than expected. And the nice guy who helped me load it into my car was very helpful. read more
