I have bought some tools, such as a toe-kick saw, that I used for one project and am keeping for a future similar project, hopefully many years away. So take a chance on something that you will not use that often. Conversely, you can get good prices on wrenches, screwdrivers, and the like, where the prices are really good. Anyway, the good features of this location: (1) Good prices - like I said above. (2) Friendly and helpful service - never a problem. (3) A very clean and well laid out store. They cost between $300-$500 each installed. Over the last several years, I've been a do it yourselfer and bought blinds from Lowe's. Those blinds are not even close to the same quality as what I got from Budget Blinds. It is amazing how much money you could spend on blinds. While it took a while to receive the blinds, the installation was done professionally, and efficiently. Even though, one blind was cut too wide, Kyle [rep] came back and promised to replace it at no charge with the correct size. [I will update my review as soon as the replacement blind is installed]. Please note, I was also referred to a store in North Buffalo/Kenmore. I called them on the phone. They weren't very nice, and I wrote them off. I happened to be driving past the store one day, and so I stopped in and spoke to someone and actually provided the measurements of my windows. I explained to the back office person who was covering for the two sales people who are at the show house, that I wanted to get another estimate. They never called me back! In the store, all the blinds that I was shown were very expensive. High-quality, But 2-4 times the price on average, of what I spent with Budget Blinds. Call Kyle. She was great.

My most recent garden problem was finding a nicely shredded mulch that didn't leave behind big chunks at the end of each growing season. Lavocat's to the rescue! They have a wonderful hardwood fine-shredded mulch that's just perfect. If you're like me, and have a smaller garden - bagged mulch is what we need - whole truck loads just don't work. The knowledgeable and very helpful staff at Lavocat's will load your vehicle and you'll be very pleased with the results in your garden.

Some small gardens had gone wild..ground cover was out of control, some slate garden edging was completely lost in the overgrown weeds. They brought a little machine and several ambitious helpers to collect and stack the lost slate, they saved and took care not to damage the plantings we hoped to keep. Everything on our list was addressed to the Tee. They planted several new fruit trees we found they had in stock and at a local nursery. Tore out some stubborn old shrubs in front of the house we didn't know what to do with. They also took care of some old stumps the previous tree service left. I can't express fully how thrilled we are with the work. They showed up on time, they worked all day, the men were engaged, they took care to listen to our opinions and offered creative options to where the plantings would look best and how to care for them after. If I could I would rate them 7 out of 5 stars. Our backyard suddenly seems 1000 sq feet bigger... Well done Arbordale!! Thank you!

When I talked to John the owner, he offered me 1 5 foot pine tree. When I mentioned that wouldn't fill in the bare space left by his mistake, and that I wanted the open space filled in. With whatever would cover the area he suggested I call an attorney and walked away from me. I've since filed BBB, CFPB, NYS Attorney general, and complaints with Erie County. Next step is court. I just want this man to fix his mistakes. Let's see what a judge has to say. Anyone looking for work done might wanna look somewhere else.

I also appreciate that I don't feel like they're trying to oversell or upsell on things I could do less expensively. For example, we are redoing our kitchen ourselves (it's an ongoing process if you know what I mean) and we reused the old cabinets because they were in good shape. The old cabinets had doors that were not compatible with hidden hinges unless you wanted to spend an *obscene* amount of money on hinges. The guys at Rockler's walked me through the options and I realized that we just needed new doors. Initially I thought we would make the doors but then that felt a bit overwhelming with all we needed to do. So I decided that we were going to buy doors. Rockler's sells doors. I figured that was perfect. When I went back in to tell the guy helping me that we were going to buy new doors, he told me that the style door we were interested in was actually a very simple one to make. He outlined the process right then and made us feel much more confident about the process. Making doors is really a better option for us because we will save a lot of money that way and we've done some woodworking before - just not cabinet doirs. We stopped in today to get our materials and when I saw that they didn't have any reviews I wanted to add one right away. If you're looking for a truly knowledgable staff that will support you or simply provide quality materials, definitely stop into this location of Rockler's.

When we picked them up and brought them home, we realized the screens did not fit properly, and the bent screens had not been replaced as requested. I called immediately, and Patty initially acknowledged the mistake and told us to bring the screens back so the issue could be corrected. Shortly after that, I had to travel out of state due to an emergency and was away for approximately one month, bringing us into December. After a very rough winter, we finally returned the screens. While they were repaired, they still did not fit correctly. At that point, a technician came to the house to measure the windows. We later received a call that the new screens were ready, and we picked them up. Due to continued wind, rain, and cold weather, there was a delay of a few weeks before installation. Unfortunately, once installed, several screens still did not fit properly, and some were clearly the wrong size altogether. It appeared as though the same size screen was made for windows that were originally different sizes. I paid over $350 during the first visit and was then required to pay an additional $300+ to have the work redone. When I tried to explain the discrepancies to Patty, my concerns were dismissed due to the amount of time that had passed. In the end, I am out more than $600, with screens that still do not fit correctly. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. We have done business with this company--both personally and professionally--for over 20 years. Sadly, after this experience, that relationship has ended. Not a happy customer, and we will not be returning.

He told me it was not up to code and he said that's why it wasn't working. He worked for about an hour and a half installing a vent for our pump toilet system. I never saw him do anything but install the vent. He never looked at the pump system at all. And obviously that was the problem. But he said it was fixed and I paid well over $600. Being a basement toilet, it wasn't used much, so several days later I discovered it still was not working. I called and they sent the same guy to fix it properly. He couldn't have complained more about actually having to finishing the job this time. He actually said to me, "are you on some kind of medication or something?" blaming me for the job he never fixed the first time. He said that I was to blame for the pipes being clogged. When I asked him, are you saying that I, using it at most three times since you were here, am responsible for clogging the pipes? He paused for about 5 seconds and then said "yes". I know he never really checked things properly the first time, because I was checking on what he was doing. I called and left a message with the owner and of course he couldn't bother to respond to me, a customer... and on top of all else, the plumber started raising his voice at me. He obviously was caught lying regarding even looking for any other reason than the vent issue as to why it wasn't working. When I spoke to the plumbing manager, he told me that they have been in business 100 years? How did that help me?? The guy that was in my house, should not be anywhere near the home owner. I did find someone that fixed it. Will never go near Ed Youngs again.

The staff has been super helpful every time I go in. Maybe a bit over-watchful but honestly I can't blame them for that. There are no lines in the small parking lot and it is not super clear where to park. Maybe anywhere is fine? The aisles are very tight and a bit claustrophobic. This isn't a place where you go and wander around to look at everything and find inspiration... it is a place where you need a thing, then you go and buy that thing and go back home to finish the repairs or project. Gardening stuff, plumbing repairs, painting supplies, butane for lighters, autumn mums, if you need it for your home they probably have it tucked away someplace. Prices are reasonable. Plus it's great to have a local place to buy stuff instead of giving money to the big box stores.
