I rarely leave reviews, but this experience deserves to be documented. Please don't dismiss us as we will continue to play this by the book but would like to feel seen as our attempts so far have put us through nothing but more grief... My wife and I have spent the last two years finishing our basement and improving our home. Every project represented evenings, weekends, and money that had to be carefully saved. The new washer and dryer were supposed to be one of those rewarding milestones, and quite possibly the only brand-new set we'll ever purchase. Instead, what should have been an exciting delivery became one of the most frustrating home service experiences we've ever had. The delivery team treated our home and appliances with an astonishing lack of care. During what should have been a routine installation, they dented walls, gouged door frames, scratched floors, peeled up sections of flooring, and even damaged the brand-new washer and dryer by cutting too deeply into the packaging. White paint from our trim and walls is now transferred onto the appliances, while dark marks from the appliances are visible on doorways and trim throughout the route they took through our home. The most alarming part was watching one driver insist on moving an appliance alone. Rather than waiting for assistance or using proper care, the unit was repeatedly slammed down and manhandled through the house. The damage was not the result of one unfortunate accident. It was the result of repeated poor decisions and careless handling from start to finish. To make matters worse, after the installation we noticed a gas smell and were assured it would go away. When I later checked behind the dryer myself, I discovered the dryer exhaust vent had not even been connected. Had I simply trusted that the installation was completed correctly, our home could have been exposed to years of moisture damage and related issues. It was an alarming reminder that I had to inspect their work myself to ensure it was done safely and properly. What makes this so difficult to accept is that we didn't just lose the excitement of receiving new appliances. We now have to revisit and repair areas of our home that took years of work to complete. The moment we had worked and saved for turned into an evening spent documenting damage instead of enjoying our purchase. We have security camera footage from both inside and outside the home documenting the delivery process and the resulting damage as well as countless images of the same damage post delivery. We are currently documenting repair costs and working through the claims process. I understand accidents happen. What I cannot understand is the volume of preventable damage caused during a single delivery, or how this level of care could be considered acceptable in a customer's home. I remain hopeful that Home Depot will review the evidence, take responsibility, and make this right. At this point, that is all we are asking. read more

The pass eight years or so I've noticed Home Depot prices are a lot higher than Menards. I would hate to see Home Depot go down the drain, remember HQ lumberyard and Hall Road about 30 years ago I think 25 years I think you Home Depot and Lowe's I think put them out of business. We ordered a refrigerator online. The wrong size was delivered. We were credited for the fridge but not the delivery fee. I called the online customer service and was told well it was delivered. So I called Home Depot that delivered the fridge 3 people later and on hold for 50 minutes Dave the manager got on the phone. He complained that we should of came in the store instead of shopping online then acted like he was doing me a great favor crediting me the delivery fee for a fridge that was delivered that I did not order. Dave never gave me the credit. Had to start all over again. Keep up the good work Home Depot. read more

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD!!! I reserved a van for 1 hour and 15 minutes to bring home a purchase I made, they charged the rental fee to my credit card immediately. I planned ahead - reserved the van 3 days in advance, called the day before to confirm the reservation and availability. When I arrived to pick up the van I was told that I could not have the van because I do not have a smart phone (I have a cell phone but it is a flip phone). There were 2 employees present the time and both people said I needed a smart phone. They said they would issue a refund (this will take 3-5 days). The only thing I could do is cancel my purchase. When I got home I checked their website and is says "a valid driver license and proof of insurance is required to rent". I had both of these items with me but they still refused to rent the van to me. Home Depot used to be my "go to" home improvement store. They always had knowledgable employees and good merchandise but everything changes over time. So sad to see this happen to Home Depot. I have had good experiences at Menards recently, I guess I will have to start shopping there. read more

It was time to replace our dishwasher so after doing some homework on particular brands, off we went to the store. We found exactly what we were looking for and it was on sale, which was an added bonus. The sales associate was very informative when we asked our questions. There was no hard sell, which we liked. He supplied us with a lot of information such as the 3 and 5 year extended warranties they offer and what they entail compared to the manufacturer warranties. We were also surprised to hear that if Home Depot installs it rather than us, there's no sales tax. Done deal all the way around. They called us the day before delivery to tell us the time they'd be here. On the date of installation, they arrived at the scheduled time and installed it. This location is really close to my house so it is convenient. I came to this location for door knobs last year and they are amazing. The locks work and they still look brand new. We recently got a Toro push mower. It was a pretty good price and it even came with oil! No oil change is required for the life of the mower and it has good warranty. We got help from someone and he brought us one of those longer carrying carts. He helped us lift it on as well. We asked about delivery and he was very honest with us. Both ladies we saw at the checkout were nice. They told us if it does not fit in the car, it would be cheaper to rent a truck. Only $15 to rent it, compared to the shipping costs and time it would take. Home Depot does offer free delivery on some items online, but I believe they did not have the item I wanted. Seems like a reasonable price, but not needed! The Toro fit in a tiny Toyota Corolla. It works amazing. It pushes super easily and isn't too heavy. I can actually use it easily too. I loved how helpful everyone was with the purchase. We also bought a few tools a while back, and they work well. My mom always shops at Home Depot for our landscaping business. They care about their customers and always offer their assistance. read more

We are EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the fence we bought at The Home Depot / AIS! During installation, they ruined our lawn and severed the water lines to two underground sprinklers. I understand this happens, but they did not tell us and we didn't know until we had the irrigation winterized. We had to pay for the repairs and the fencing company refused to reimburse us. Also, during the installation, they did significant damage to our lawn. There was an obscene amount of dirt they left on our lawn... piles of dirt. They refused to do any dirt removal and we had to pay another company for that too. All of our new sod under the piles of dirt were ruined. After we ordered the fence, it looks months for installation. Once it was installed they forgot to bring the post toppers, so they had to come back to add those. The fence materials are EXTREMELY flimsy. I can't believe that a fence of such sub-par materials would cost that much. We would definitely NOT recommend buying a fence from The Home Depot / AIS! read more

Today I went to the Home Depot in Macomb on Hall Road! Never again! They can take the last $200.00 they are getting from me and I am done! Needed help getting two 12' 4 by 4's off the rack and cut in half! I looked for someone in lumber for 10 minutes and found nobody! I walked up to the front and seen the troops beginning to all stand around in a big circle to have a class on customer service, I ask a young lady before they started, for help and explained I had just gotten out of Troy Beaumont Hospital and have a ruptured disk in my lower back or I would climb the rack and pull the wood down myself. The woman ask at lest three of the people to help me who all wanted to get paid to stand around and listen to the meeting and joke around with one another, so all three ignored her. I went back to the department, stood there another ten minutes while I listened to their meeting all about how they must meet the customers needs and how the customer comes first and yada yada yada..... I took my cell phone, called customer service and told them what was going on, I said if someone is not back here in less then five minutes, I am out the door and going to Lowes! In about 4 to 5 minutes someone showed up and wasn't real happy but cut the wood for me and I managed to get out of there! Worse part was, I went through something similar to this at this same store the week before and had spent another $200.00, that's the last $400.00 Home Depot, any Home Depot will ever see from me! Flooring buyer beware. If you're looking to install flooring products through HD and are going to sell the property the day after installation, this is the place for you. Otherwise, be well informed. Do a Google search of AIS installers and read reviews. You'll save yourself time and money and effort of your home improvement. Flooring products purchased, either DIY install, find a reputable installer on your ow, or waste your time, money and effort in more meaningful ways. Installation company contracted by HD, which is AIS, will not complete the job as directed, will leave floor and walls with damage, and neither HD or AIS will accept responsibility. Be advised, we've had 3K+ in "non excessive damage" which is "to be expected by any installer." Don't say you weren't forewarned. Updating Review: the above situation can be verified through the Customer Care reps who dealt with this 18 month, two-time installation problem. The result was for HD and AIS to link arms and require an inspection of every single plank prior to installation, but would not guarantee correct, by the instructions installation by AIS. The goal was to have a new floor. The product is solid but they've contracted to only sell in HD, and you cannot find an installer who is familiar with installation outside of AIS. Per HD, it's installed incorrectly all over the USA and customers are up a creek w/o a paddle when seams/joints begin to fail. We educate other customers to steer clear of this shoddy work and choose to support local tradesman with a long, verifiable reputation for quality work. I urge you to do the same. Your time, effort, money, and home being disrupted for 18 months is not worth it. Read the box insert and be educated. LifeProof flooring. read more

Couple of days ago I had a garage door quoted from HD. Walked in yesterday with $1200.00 in my pocket to order the door. The only guy working in door area was on lunch. I get everyone deserves a lunch break but why was there not a second person to take care of customers? With all of the other home centers in the area I would have thought HD would excel in customer service. Why do I have to wait on their inability to staff a store to make a purchase. I walked and left for the Lowes down the street where I was met by two employees working in the door area. I bought a door, $100.00 cheaper that HD and left with a smile. Worst experience ever! After waiting over a month for dresser to come into stock(understandable due to current America) my dresser finally comes into stock. A week later I get a call from delivery driver to help him carry it up the stairs. Ok, cool it weighs 140lbs, but not my job. Now, Home Depot is supposed to call me to assemble said dresser within 2 days. 1 week goes by so I reach out. Oh, we are sorry, backed up, how about 10% off..Another week goes by, crickets. Reach out AGAIN. "I do see that the installation department has not been reached to schedule an installation date or time. I am happy to refund you the installation fee, of $157.94." OK thank you...Another week goes by, hey guys whats up? Oh, when they refunded your assembly it cancelled you. Well thats dumb. I just want this thing put together. Went here to get a grill for Mother's Day. They had me pull out of curbside pick up to go in front of the building and in the way of traffic. They brought the grill out stared at my trunk for a few moments and told me from experience it would fit. "Measured" the grill but never measured the trunk or even attempted to fit it. Sat there for another ten minutes with multiple workers who then asked if I had another car which I did not. They attempted to unscrew the side panels of the grill the whole time complaining and I eventually asked if they had an unassembled grill in a box. They then went to get this for me but topped the whole thing off with having their manger inform me that he "hopes I learned a valuable life lesson never to buy anything that wont fit in my car". Btw put the grill together and it was extremely easy to unscrew two screws on both sides to get the side panels off. At Home Depot today for several items. Needed a couple of wood, regular size, paint-stirring sticks and was surprised to find regular size wood paint sticks are NOT FREE anymore which they have been all of my life! The lady at the paint counter was nice enough to give me two of the larger wood sticks. She also helped me locate the Gorilla Glue. Did not get her name but it was about 2:30 pm or so on 9-3-19. Derick T. helped me find a drain cleaner product and then explained (TWICE - which I needed. Lol) exactly how to use the product. Great jobs by both employees! read more

TERRIBLE service on Doorwall installation and on top of the terrible service the Doorwall is leaking water into home. Wish I could give 0 stars. I wish I could have my old Doorwall back and never went to Home Depot. Purchased Doorwall beginning of January and finally was able to get it installed end of March. The company is almost impossible to get a hold of to make appt. also expect to be home from all day/ night waiting for them to show up. Both times they came to my house they lied about the the time frame they would arrive. They never even called to say they were running late. One of the times they said they would come between 1-4 and didn't show up until 7:45pm. This company is a joke. I went to Home Depot thinking I would get the best and I got the WORST service ever. Their home services are a joke. I will never go back to Home Depot for any installations I may need in the future and I will do my best to let everyone I know to never go to them! I have water still coming in from Doorwall which I just received an email from Home Depot saying I have another 3 weeks till the part comes in which I am very u happy with. I have a hole in the Doorwall so bugs/water can come into my home. Went to this Home Depot yesterday. Tried to buy a patio set and wicker lounge loveseat. Was going to spend at least $400 or more. Heres the problem: Two sales people had us waiting around for 1/2 hr while they tried unsuccessfully to find the patio in the back. I asked if i could just buy the floor model and was told no. The associate said her supervisor "Don" said she couldnt do it. They are supposedly getting more in next week so why cant i buy this one????
