Walked in there to find a HAVC register today, there were two greeters right at the entry so I ask where I can find a replacement for my old rusty one. The answer was to give him $20 bugs for the information. I asked where is the boss and the other greeter claim the person was. When I said what about stock holder? And they reply it will be $50 bucks for the info. I start walking away and ready to file a complain until the last minute he pointed out the isle. This is what I am going to say to their manager and management, Lowe's is right across the street and there is a super duper well stocked Amazon warehouse in less than 5 mins and both will be very happy to take my money and even deliver to my doorsteps. I shall remember this treatment, recession is coming and I shall never invest a dime in your stocks! Home Depot LIED to us about a dishwasher installation. When it was delivered on Saturday March 15, the delivery guy said he could not install it, and a plumber would come for no extra charge since we had already paid for installation. OF COURSE when the plumber came, he wanted $350 in addition to the $230 we had already paid Home Depot, for a total install charge of $580!! We said NO, and got our own plumber for $300. Remodeling the master bath and was about to drop almost $5k here, until I learned Home Depot doesn't provide a competitive 10% military discount. I was told twice that the maximum discount was $50. I left and went to Lowes, bought the same stuff and they honored the 10% discount and price matched the free standing soaking tub. Here is what the general restrictions on the Home Depot 10% OFF military discount: 1. It is only available in participating stores and not online. 2. I was in here last evening looking at gas grills and electric fireplaces - when I happen to stumble across a manned display for Christmas lights. HD was encouraging people to turn in their conventional Christmas lights for discounts off newer LED-based Christmas lights - which require far less electricity. If you bring in up to 5 strings of lights - they will recycle them - and you get a coupon for $3.00 off each of up to 5 LED Christmas products. So I came back today with 5 strands of lights to turn in, collect my coupons, and buy some more environmentally friendly lights. However, I found that the Sylvania brand lights contain a warning called a "Proposition 65" warning about the wires in the light strands containing lead - and that it is recommended one wash their hands after handling these. Well, so much for making progress with making Christmas lights more environmentally friendly - they use less power but are toxic. I pointed this out to the HD guys working the lights area - they were surprised. One of the guys called one of the electricians over - he was also surprised. One of them then went off to do a quick Google search and came back with some detailed information on Christmas tree lights. Some sources claim the amount of lead is negligible and should not be harmful - but then goes on to recommend the washing of one's hands after handling these products. Also of note, some products may not contain a Prop 65 warning - meaning they are not for sale in California - but most likely contain Lead. If they are manufactured in China - they most certainly do contain Lead - and in unknown quantities. I ended up buying three LED Christmas lights products - I sure wish we could manufacture this stuff without any Lead! If I had a NEGATIVE Start I would prob give it a -5. I bought on Friday night. Saturday morning my husband tells me I was giving h e wrong paint, asked if I ordered the paint the way he wrote it down, lol. Of course I did! But I was giving a shine finish on the paint. I went back to Homedepot Sunday first thing in the morning. The same sales/paint person was there that helped me on Friday night, she told me that they couldn't exchange or return Paint, that she would need to call a Manager "Z". After a few minutes "Z" approaches me with a superior demeanor . And said we don't do return paint. I told him I was never told that on Friday or I would've bought a smaller sizes paint (I got a big bucket of paint, 5 gallons) very RUDE he said write her name and number done so we know if she comes back again. This time I will let you exchange. Without letting me say anything else he walked away, I said you are very rude and have no customer service etiquette, as he walked away he said I don't have time I'm helping someone. You can wait until I'm done . The sales person didn't even know "Z" real name or maybe she didn't want to give me his name. Should Not be Store Manager, He should be Fired!!! His service stinks!! Needless to say, I will be boycotting HOMEDEPOT and will support LOWES with all my Home Remodeling and recommend LOWES to everyone. read more

We went into Home Depot to look for paint. It took a little bit to get somebody to the paint counter, but we were so glad that Eddie was able to come help us! Eddie was absolutely wonderful. He was so knowledgeable about paint and how to help us with getting our house ready to paint. He wanted us through important steps and helped her pick out supplies know be worth our time. We definitely left. So thankful that people like Eddie work at Home Depot because we had such an amazing experience and now want to go to Home Depot in Manassas over any other Home Depot because of the amazing customer service, knowledge, and passion for helping others! read more

Awesome customer service. I stopped in to get some paint and to use my Veteran's card to get my 10% discount. I learned that I can register my vet cards with my phone number and it will allow me to just give my phone number instead of always showing my card at each visit. The cashier informed me this at time of purchase. I will do this next time I come into Home Depot so that way I can avoid having to show my card each and every time. We ordered two pedestals for existing washer and dryer online and the Home Depot website gave every indication that delivery and installation was included with the purchase price. Then at delivery, HD stated that they will not handle appliances not bought from HD when installing the pedestals, thus making installation impossible. On 4/22/2020 I walked into Home Depot to purchase a mitre saw. I eventually made a decision to take a chance on the Home Depot brand Rigid, it was on sale for 399, it came with all the bells and whistles recently reduced from 529. The lifetime warranty is what sold me. On 5/1/2020 I decided to use my saw, it worked well for the first few cuts and then it started making weird noises. Please keep I. Mind I was cutting MDF. The last cut I made with my R4221 the blade hit the card and partially cut through. I went to the Home Depot where I made the purchase at approximately 0730. They argued with me for about 15 mins because I didn't have the receipt that I must have made my purchase online. I then stated to the manager on duty that if they would just pull my receipt from my card would it not reflect the store number? She went quiet. She then told me that she couldn't find it only to find out that she was typing in the wrong sku. I politely told her that she was typing In the wrong thing. She found my item after an 1hr and 30 mins of doing this dance. She the. Inspected my machine and then said you are missing the bag, can't speak with you unless you have it, totally my fault for not having it I can own up to a mistake. I drove 20 mins home and 20 mins back. The customer in front of me some how convinced her to return custom paint which he had purchased from another store. She finally came to me and said so what do you want to do return it. Sigh, I just wanted a different Mitre saw, so I told her I would like an exchange she said, she then stated that the model had been replaced and that I would have to pay the difference. I told her I didn't want to do that she then said by the Ryobi and get some money back. I didn't want to do that either I mean why would I go from a Rigid which has good reviews to a ryobi. I said Ma,am this is a Home Depot product since you no longer carry the product and your return policy on this item is 180 days I would like a swap of the like model at no cost. She then stated to me why would I want another rigid, if I had a defect with one I may have a defect with another. How can a company not stand behind its own product. The sad thing is they still have them online and she didn't even want to offer me a swap by ordering one online she would rather me get the dewalt at 599 or they Ryobi at 279. I left there feeling like I left a used car sales lot. I am shocked that Home Depot does not stand behind their product. The point of this long winded review don't not by Rigid because they do not believe in it. I am the first one to admit that I am not fond of big box hardware stores. However, going to get two stupid keys cut should not be this complicated. This morning, one of the guys in my office informed me that he had lost his key (again). So, I hopped in my car and went to Home Depot to get one for him and a spare cut, as I was out of them. When I arrived, I found two greeters at the door, one of whom kindly directed me to the key counter. However, once I got to that corner of the store, there was no one to be found. I pressed the call button, stood around like an idiot, and looked for an employee to help me. No dice. After I had been looking for someone for about ten minutes, I finally found a woman who volunteered to get the key-cut guy for me. Five minutes after that, as I was getting ready to leave, he arrived on the scene. He puttered around, found two keys, and cut them for me, and then I paid and left. Got back to the office to test the keys, and guess what? Neither of them worked at all. Not even close. They were just a bit too short, and it was impossible to open the lock with them. So, I went back. Once again, the two greeters directed me to the customer service desk and found someone to help me. The lady who "helped" me simply snatched the keys out of my hands and gave me a refund. She did not employ any of these time-tested customer service techniques, which might have improved my mood: 1. Apologize for the fact that the keys were way off. 2. Ask if I wanted a refund, or if they could fix the problem for me. 3. Offer a replacement for the poorly-cut keys. 4. Care at all about the fact that I was fairly steamed at this point. 5. Seem to show any emotion whatsoever except for annoyance that I had interrupted her card game (really. They were playing cards in the office). I worked in both food and customer service for eight years, and I have never been so disappointed in a store or restaurant before. Rarely have I encountered such shoddy customer service as I did today at this store - and not just from her, but also from pretty much everyone else in the store, save the greeters (and on that note, I know the economy's bad, but why have two greeters working when you don't even have enough floor employees? WTF?). I will not be back. Ever. read more

First let me say this is the best Home Depot that I have been to in a long time. I had been driving all over Manassas in search of Plantation shuttters to use as a fitting room door and finally I called Home Depot a gentlemen who works in that area names Ron saved my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told him what I was looking for and he was super friendly and offered a great deal of information, and told me to stop by. So when I came he was very attentive and helped me measure and pulled extra shutters from the top of the shelf and carried everything for me. He checked inventory and gave me really awesome customer service like I was on the only one in the store. Customer Service is everything nowadays and he got a cart for me and rolled it to the front and was just a nice surprise to end my day with a huge smile because I was determined to find the exact shutters I needed and if did not offer his expertise on the inventory, I would have passed home depot by. So the first connection was the phone! Thanks Ron and then a nice guy named Kam at the register was also very helpful in checking me out. I really had an awesome experience and I wanted to let everyone know about it. So, ask for Ron! He works in the back by the shutters and the carpeted area. I'm trying to redo the tile in my bathrooms and heard there was a spring sake so I decided to see what I could find. Usually the staff is somewhat helpful and this is why I prefer Home Depot other similar places. The flooding section can be overwhelming and other than having someone that will be doing the labor, it's up to me to go purchase the materials. After looking around for about 10 minutes someone finally offered to help me. When I told him what I was looking for, he argued that I didn't want what I thought I wanted....I was stunned. He continued to show me items and materials I wasn't interested in. Overall I was frustrated because I ended up walking out without getting any help. I gave 3 stars because even though this was a poor visit, overall they do an ok job of at least trying to help me. read more

I got excellent service today. It started off not so good but John, at the pro desk, was of great help. I had a husky tool I needed replaced under the lifetime warranty. This is the second time I've ever had to replace one of my husky tools so I knew it could be done in store. After I got wrong information from the lady at the returns counter I went to the tool aisle to find a better informed individual. John was there helping someone else. I told him the problem and he was able to take care of the issue. He even paid 10 cents out of his pocket when he saw I didn't have any change on me! Bought an order online. Went to the store after I got an email telling me my order was ready for pickup. Arrived, and it was not ready for pickup. Waited 15 minutes. The runner still hadnt returned. Went and bought a can of spray paint. Came back to the pickup counter. No sign of my order. Another 15 minutes goes by. Finally had enough. Demanded a refund and walked out. We are beyond disappointed in the delivery experience of our recent fridge. The first crew that came to install did not speak English well. They did not work together or properly use the straps in getting our old fridge out. We live in a townhome with the kitchen on the second floor. In the process of attempting they damaged our walls in multiple places. After about 30 minutes they decided they couldn't get the old fridge out, so they tried to get the new fridge in. After 1 attempt they decided they couldn't do that and told me it wouldn't fit up our stairs and that we had to remove our banister and call for a reschedule. We called your 800 number after they left and were told by Robert an agent that the doors could be taken off of the fridge and then it would fit. I also noticed after the first team left that in their attempt to get our new fridge upstairs they had damaged it. I also have a photo. We had to wait 2.5 days for a new crew to come back, days without a refrigerator. When the new guys came they could not believe that the first crew just left the fridge in our entry or how much they damaged our walls. They were much more knowledgeable and professional and were able to both get our old fridge out and our new fridge without incident. This team was great and showed me just how bad the first crew was. Even though our new fridge has a dent we accepted it because we had already been over a week without a working refrigerator and we have a small child. We simply could not have waited another 1-2 weeks for a new model to arrive. I would like to commend the second crew of installers and wish they would have been the first. After the install we texted our experience to Home Depot in hopes of some restitution for our dented new fridge and the damage to the walls and ceiling on our stairs. They told me that they were not liable, that the 3rd party delivery company they hired was responsible and that they would submit a claim on our behalf, but that Home Depot would do nothing for us. They provided us a # for the 3rd party delivery company which we have now attempted to call twice and sat on hold for over an hour each time without anyone answering. So not only do we not have an apology or any type of restitution, but we have wasted over 2 hours of our lives trying to reach a vendor we didn't contract in the first place. Which is making me more upset than I was over the original issues. Based on this experience from start to finish and Home Depot's lack of assistance in attempting to fix our issues I will not be purchasing any future appliances through Home Depot. read more

An employee of the store came from a different direction and told me I was going to have to wait until he was done with the other guy. I asked him why as I had been waiting for a while before someone had showed up. I told him I was there before the other guy and why was he telling me I had to wait for him. He ignored me, did not explain, and did not apologize. I was willing to let it pass when the guy cut in front of me, but when an employee who was not even doing the cutting came up and told me I was going to have to wait that bothered me. Gave them 5 stars based on excellent customer service we received last night which was the complete opposite of the disaster of their Fairfax location. Kudos to Daniella who upon seeing us waiting, even tho she was already with clients, asked if we needed help. When my husband responded yes we're looking for an appliance she immediately picked up the phone & called for backup. Within minutes we were speaking with a knowledgeable associate, Matt, who answered our questions & set up our order! Now that's good customer service & the way to keep customers happy! read more
