I almost bougt the one that thry have here, but I thought about the logistics in bringing it doen there, may not be so easy. What I actually came here for was to get some gardening tools and supplies for my house up here. I figure I have the long holiday weekend to hipefully make some good progress on the yard and small garden area. This hardware store is very close to me here and I wasn't in the mood to drive 6 miles to the big box hardware store to maybe save asmall amount of money. I got a garden house, a shovel, and regular yard rake to clean up the place. They had everything that I needed.

We were in a time bind…read moreand McLean Hardware CAME TO THE RESCUE!: we had MIELE dishwasher delivered and when being installed they said our plumber put in the wrong size valve ( although presite inspection did not specify valve size)- McLean hardware was closing in 10 minutes and dishwasher installers wanted to leave- they didn't have an adapter for the valve and were tired. For the installers to return would be $200 additional charge-ugh. McLean Hardware quickly had 2 people assist my husband and for only $24 we got the adapter for the expensive Miele dishwasher to be installed and working! We checked a few other custom woodworking shops and were completely underwhelmed by their service and overwhelmed by their prices. One Saturday morning we visited Eco Friendly and met Scott Petercsak. At that point, we knew we were in the right place. Speaking of the right place, when you pull in, it looks like you're entering someone's driveway. Go slow, admire the horses, and 300 meters further on, you'll see the kiln and sawmill. Wear your boots, bring your coat, and prepare to be amazed. This is a serious operation. Scott showed us at least a half dozen wood choices: walnut, oak, poplar, chestnut, it's just amazing. We chose two 8' walnut slabs. In two weeks, Eco Friendly cut them down, edge-glued them together, and finished them beautifully into our tabletop for $1200. We did not want live edge, but - if you do - they offer countless live edge options. In addition, Scott and his crew seem capable of designing and creating just about anything you can dream of.

They tried to sell us very expensive marble tiles without telling us the special and serious maintenace problems marble tiles cause, then increased the price when we tried to actually buy the tiles, then misled us on the second visit when they tried to sell us patio tiles for a shower floor - which don't work because a shower floor is curved for drainage. These people simply don't know their business. It could cost you thousands. Go somewhere else.

I love how our car is weighed when we pull in, and after we choose rocks and place them in the car, it is weighed again and we pay by the pound. Yesterday I went for some bags of small rocks, and while I was walking around, I found a pallet of pieces shaped like books. I took one, and was told it is sold as part of a small pallet, so I took it inside to ask about it. The lovely man inside did tell me that it was part of a pallet, but when I mentioned that I wanted to paint it as a book, he paused and then said, "You can have it." I should have waited to write this till I finish the piece, but I decided to write now to show how I appreciate his kindness. I will take a photo when I do complete it and sent it. Thank you Sislers. I ordered 1/2 and 3/4 inch white birch. Veneer is thin but the surface is smooth. 3/4 is not as good as 1/2. Very few voids, knobs. If there is anything they should improve, the 1/2 plywood is not that flat, it is probably due to the way they stack.
