I had several additional requests which they accommodated such as adding an extra drain line and additional return vent and all the work was done as requested. Since completion of the job, they have come back on routine maintenance visits to keep the system up and running and the cost of which was included with the original work. I therefore. have been very pleased with after-installation service. Separately, I used them for plumbing, specifically replacing a sink faucet, repairing a garbage disposal, and repairing a leaky shower fixture. I was very pleased with this service as well. Especially the garbage disposal because all it needed was a minor turn of a crank to loosen it up instead of a full replacement, which saved me a significant amount of money. Obviously, overall, I'm very happy with their services. I will be using them again and highly recommend.

It's unbelievable but some companies required upfront deposit even before assessment of the issue. Our technician,Brian, was on time, called prior, came with shoe covers, quickly identified problems with toilet, gave us estimates and couple options to think about. I called next morning and next business day he returned and completed repair. Again on time, very professional and leave no dirt or waste after job. Prices are horribly high now everywhere, but plumbing can't be avoided,so their price point is adequate to area, but service is superb. Can't deduct star for high prices, because they are using gas and supplies which are horrible now.

I'm leaving a review based on my prior experiences with KCS (have used them since we purchased our…read morehome in 2020). We got their base maintenance plan with 2 inspection services each year, and used that for about 3 years (no real issues to fix.) During one inspection in 2024, the tech realized that our furnace water pan had filled (but not so high it shut off yet) and he helped identify the problem and luckily was able to fix it the same day (no parts/ charge.) He suggested in a non-pushy way that it really may benefit us to up our plan to the higher one (almost double the cost/yr, so a little scary) because we're probably entering the zone where larger repairs may start for our furnace and the plan covered most of the types of parts that would be in a significant repair. He seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy, so we decided to at least do it for a year. We were very lucky, because the next year was the epic winter - the furnace went out/ our YouTube tricks didn't get it running, and the red plan ($500/yr) meant we pushed to the top of the queue and got someone out when the temp was dropping in the whole house. Apparently the part needed to fix it was over $1,000 (not including install), and that was covered in our plan. So that proved the value for us! I know they were recently acquired/ merged with FH Furr, so it appeared that our online requests for service on the KCS site were not actually being seen/ addressed. When I got time to call over, the former red maintenance plan was unfortunately no longer sold by this new company. I got the "gold plan" which includes 2 HVAC inspections, a plumbing inspection, and an electrical inspection for honestly a price that is so cheap I'm worried it's going to be an upselling scam :/ so I'll update this as needed in the future to help others who may wondering if this new company will have the same service quality as pre-acquisition.

Waited over a year to leave a review for these guys so that I could give an honest opinion of the…read moreentire transaction. Edwin may be a seemingly nice guy but don't judge a company by a nice guy. Also see below that a majority of the reviews were left when he was doing the work himself. He is not doing the work now. He has a crew that has very little experience and he is trying to babysit them all during the day so he can try to make a buck bouncing between jobs. He would routinely come at the end of the day and spend hours fixing the mess they made during the day. Day 1: I caught the crew after they had installed a different air handler than I ordered. The crew leader assured me it was the same but when I dug into the manual I found out it was different. There is a reason the one I ordered cost more. The only thing I can figure is at best they were just being lazy because the smaller air handler fit through my crawl space door easier. At worse they do this all the time and were trying to scam me. So the lesson he is know what equipment models you paid for and double check them when they arrive. I called Edwin and he claimed to not know about it...but who knows. 2. After they got it installed there were some bugs to work out. This seems reasonable, but don't expect to be paid until the system is functional. The office was blowing up the phone trying to be paid when my system wasn't 100%. I told them I wasn't paying until the system was working properly. They came out and finished the job. Would they have got to me as quick if I had already paid? Who knows. 3. I told Edwin from the start I wanted the 10 year extended warranty on labor. He told me he would get it together. Months passed. Nothing. Hit him up again. Nothing. Called his office...they know nothing about it. 11 months after the install he sends me an invoice for the cost of the extended warranty. He tells me he will take care of the paperwork with goodman. By this time I'm tired of Edwin and his BS. There is no way I'm handing over cash to him without some guarantees in writing. I call Goodman to ask them about the extended labor warranty and they tell me it required some paperwork from them showing the purchase of the extended warranty and both me and Edwin have to sign it. Totally opposite of what Edwin is claiming. Is he totally full of BS trying to scam me on a warranty? I have no idea but the manufacturer says one thing and he is saying to just give him the cash and everything will be fine. Because of his BS I missed out on the time gram for the extended warranty for labor. Rewind, First winter with the heat pump I'm getting 400 dollar electric bills I think that is just the way it is because it's cold and the electric heat is on a lot. WRONG fast forward to the next fall season I have another company come out and look at it and they tell me it's wired wrong and this incorrect wiring is causing the heat strips to run 100% of the time, and to add to it the communication board is not working. I didn't know it at the time but Edwin knew this board wasn't working properly because he was always using the excuse of how he couldn't use Bluetooth to access the communication board. New company tells me if you can't communicate with Bluetooth it's 100% a bad communication board. So either Edwin didn't know this or he left it broken and unprogramed on purpose. New hvac company had to replace the board and completely program the unit because they said it had never been programmed properly. If you're considering this company you can read above and decide for yourself if you feel this is the kind Of people you want to deal with. Edwin seems like a nice dude but the shoddy business practices will put him out of business soon.

They also wouldn't give me a time window for the tech to come. They only give a date and tell you that they will call when they're on their way. This meant that I had to be available all day and couldn't plan anything else. I called the main line and got a human, but she had zero empathy and said that I had to just wait to be contacted when the tech was on his way. When the guy finally got to the house, he told me it would be $350 just to discover the issue. I said no. But before I said no, he told me that my issue could be anything, and he could likely find it within 2 hours, and that I could possibly need a whole new panel (at least $10,000), depending on what he found. He said my panel looked old and potentially overloaded ...despite the fact that this panel has worked just find for over a decade!! The next day, another electrician came out, and for $150 (still high IMHO), he determined, within 20 minutes that the issue was with the line coming into the house from the power company. So, I called the power company, and they came out the same day and fixed their equipment line... FREE.

However, the mis-management of this company combined with the lack of attention to detail of the majority of technicians we've had out these past two years has led to repeated customer service failures. I've captured more detail details below if you want more than an overall summary rating. Be forewarned their technicians are nice, and at the end of the appointments, which may only be diagnostic and not actually the fix because they need to wait for parts and then to come back (which has been where the majority of our issues have been), they ask you to give them a five star review so the technician gets a $25 performance gift card, which skews overall service ratings. Most recently our 4 year old, warranty covered, HVAC broke again (4th time since a company bought out by FH Furr installed and FH Furr fixed 3x before). It happened on a Saturday night, and we called first thing Sunday morning. They told us the technician who had the part we needed was off that day so we had to schedule for later in the week. We were out of town 4 days, then the morning of our apt, 45 min into the arrival window, we got a call saying the technician has the wrong motor, they will have to order a new part, and then when they get it in a few days they will call to reschedule. This our final straw but keep reading for more history. Something just like that happened before on our HVAC. But in that case they ordered the wrong part so we had to wait for the first part to come in, then wait for the right part to come in. During another HVAC fix they identified an issue, ordered a new part, installed it, then ID'd a second issue. I appreciated that the technician was forth coming that they should have caught that during the first diagnostic call and apologized we would have to wait for a part again. The fact that they took ownership would have made this fully forgivable if we didn't have so many other issues. They also ordered a part for a fix that was supposed to come in in a few days but I called a week later and it still hadn't come in. I called 4-5 days in a row, then finally I asked to speak to a manager and they said they can use a different, universal part instead of continuing to wait. It wasn't clear why there was such a huge difference from when the first technician said the original part would come in vs the actual timeline, but I suspect based on some of my first calls that the part might not have been ordered at all until I first called to check on it. We had a toilet not fully flushing upstairs and they quoted us $200 to fix it, but recommended the toilet itself may continue to have problems because of the design unless we replace the whole thing, so we should consider that long term. After half an hour on YouTube, and an $8 part from the local hardware store, my husband was able to fix it himself and we haven't had an issue again in the last 6 or 7 months since that issue. A theme you may pick up on is how often I have had to call them for follow up. Some of the technicians will admit that if you don't hear by xx day from dispatch, you should call them and ask if your parts have come in yet. We have definitely found that to be true on both HVAC and toilet calls. In our experience it could also be hours before a manager calls you back if you ask to speak to one. We bought the maintenance membership so we have tried to make this work, but at this point I can't waste anymore time micro managing nor can we rely on them to be responsive or do a job right. Save yourself the stress and money, avoid this company.
