Furious. L&M was recommended to me to repair my refrigerator ice maker. The cost was prohibitive to do it, about half a new refrigerator. Buddy, the owner, measured the space for me to buy a new refrigerator. Went to Best Buy, Reston and bought a new refrigerator. Best Buy, Reston, had the refrigerator I purchased sent to its Baltimore warehouse. From there Best Buy hires an independent contractor to pick it up and deliver it to my home, about five blocks from the Best Buy store in Reston. When the refrigerator was delivered it did not fit in the space! Why? Buddy measured the top width of the space, not the middle or bottom. The delivery people laughed at the error..stating how could an appliance repairman make such a foolish mistake! So..me..no refrigerator..AND, probably have to pay the cost of two men, probably at an hourly rate for 4-5 hours, the Enterprise truck rental and also start all over again with Best Buy! Really upset. Plus now, have to repack the freezer and refrigerator after taking everything out and storing it. read more

Luis came out to repair my washing machine, which is a really old one. But I can't afford a new one. He had to order parts and came back later to complete the work. That was six weeks ago and it's running great. His price was something I could afford. He is a very pleasant man, I felt very safe having him in my home. Our 20 year old washer decided to stop agitating (it would fill and drain, but no swirly agitation action). I called Buddy (the owner) at L&M Appliance Service on Monday and he was able to come out on Tuesday afternoon (perfect!). Buddy called me to say he was on his way and he and his son arrived about 10 minutes. Based on my description of the problem, Buddy had the replacement parts in hand. he disassembled the washer, located the broken gear, replaced it, reassembled the washer, and checked it for proper operation. Buddy was fast, responsive, professional, and friendly. He was also about $80 less (for the same amount of time) than the guys I used when the dryer got tempermental a couple of years ago. L & M Appliance Service (and Buddy) is now my goto guy for appliance repair -- and with 20+ year old appliances, I'll probably be going to Buddy a lot more. read more

I found L&M here on Yelp and have used them twice now. I'm happy to report that Buddy was fantastic and deserves his five star ratings. He came once to look at my dishwasher and it turned out to be a bit of a lesson in dishwasher maintenance for me, which was worth the money. The second time, I asked him to come look at my gas oven after I had a pretty good flare-up on Easter Sunday. He took the insides out, took a look, turned it on, coached me through getting it cleaned up and gave me some reassurance that I could turn it on without burning my house down. Again, nothing major was wrong but it was worth the cost of the service call for the peace of mind and the learning. In addition to being knowledgeable, patient and friendly, Buddy also just runs a good business. He returns calls, he's often available the next day, he arrives when he says he's going to arrive and he doesn't give a four hour window, but an actual time, and calls when he's on the way. It's been a pleasure dealing with him and I couldn't recommend him more highly. read more

Great decision to call L&M. I had a major refrigerator leak on Sunday night that caused some pretty significant water damage. I debated on calling Whirlpool Service, but found L&M on Yelp and saw the great reviews. I left a message on Sunday evening and received a return call on Monday morning. Buddy showed up on Monday morning and diagnosed the problem. He didn't have the specific part but ordered it and said it would be in by Wednesday. He came back on Wednesday morning and installed the part. I have a fully functioning refrigerator and saved myself $3000 (because the wife wanted to buy a new one!) Based on Yelp reviews, I called L&M and left a voice mail message on Thursday morning around 8:30 this week to seek a repair on our refrigerator. Received a call back less than 30 minutes later. I have a Jenn-Air gas range and one of the burners would light but the igniter would keep clicking the entire time the burner was on. I called L&M Appliance Service and Buddy came out to take a look. He had to order some new parts and was back a week or so later and my range is now working great. My refrigerator water dispenser stopped working. Buddy returns calls quickly. He was actually able to diagnose the problem over the phone as a frozen line. I called and spoke with Buddy and described my issue and he was able to give me a general quote over the phone. He was also able to come out the following morning, gave a 1 hour time slot instead of 5, and called when he was on his way. My boyfriend was home so dealt with Buddy and said that he was super helpful, polite and fixed the issue that morning!
