Every first Saturday of the month, our grandbabies are excited to go to the DYI sessions for kids! I have to be honest, I enjoy it too. They get to build a variety of themed projects, depending on what the month is. It gives them an opportunity to use hammers,, screws, nails, screwdrivers, paint and put something together with their own hands. It's usually pretty crowded too. The workers are always very helpful. DO NOT BUY HERE!!!!!!!!! My door was ordered initially with Osae on 1/17/2025. After several cancellations of my appointment for door measurement from Home Depot and JD Doors, someone finally came out for measurements around 2/13 or 2/14. My door finally arrived past the due date of 4/16/25, and we got an appointment for installation on 4/28/2025 from 8 am -10 am. I received a text at 938 am from Juan Duran stating that the installer just picked up your door and is headed to you within an hour and a half or so. I replied by 1030 am, his response was closer to 11 am. They arrived around noon. Upon arrival, it was noted that the sidelight was on the wrong side of the door. After much discussion and contemplation, and back-and-forth via phone as Juan was not present, only works were, it was realized that the door could not work and would not look correct in that manner. We were told someone would contact us, but no real plan as to what would happen next was explained. After not hearing from anyone and getting disconnected on the phone, we went to the local McDonough Home Depot office. We met with a store lead/department manager, whose name I don't really remember, but also a store rep in Millwork, I believe, Brad. They were unsure of how to fix our problem and asked, "Did you do the measurements yourself?" Of course, we did not. They were on the phone with someone from upper management, trying to figure out what should be done. I asked to speak to the manager, but the person did not want to talk to me. While sitting in the store on the same day I received a call from Brent from installations, who I explained the entire problem to including the tardiness of JD doors and he stated as he laughed " I will be sure to slap them on the hand when I see them" which I though was inappropriate and far from funny, I expect some level of professionalism accountability. I asked for another vendor due to problems with this installer. I was told by Brent 'We only use JD doors." I asked what would be done to accommodate me as the customer due to all these errors, and was told, "We will expedite and have your door in 2-3 weeks." After 3 weeks of not hearing anything, I called Home Depot on 4/19 and was told I would get a call back. I received a call from Theresa on 4/20, who appeared unaware of what had occurred, and stated my door would arrive on "June 10th," and we will schedule you after that. I explained what happened and was told again on June 10. I asked for a call back from the manager. I received a call back from a new manager, John, who repeated the exact date on June 10th, despite my telling him of the promise of 2-3 weeks to accommodate my inconvenience, and I asked why Home Depot's Brent is making false promises with no accountability and no follow-up. He had no real answer other than June 10th, the door should arrive, and then we could make an appointment, and he would see what he could do. But stated " it takes around 4-6 weeks for doors" Horrible service no accountability, no follow up, after they made you pay in full they dont care !!! read more

Went to look for a hot water heater. Was looking for someone to assist. Went to the cabinet department and asked for help. They paged the employee (not saying his name) to come assist. I waited for about 15 minutes. No one came. Walked back over again to ask the same employees. They paged him again and said he may be with a customer. Waited another 20 minutes. Still no assistance. Then I hear them page the same guy for a phone call. Sigh. No assistance ever came. I left. This is a horrible experience, Home Depot. By the way, the store wasn't busy. read more

Horrible. Do not use this company. Scam money from people. They contract out of Home Depot in McDonough Ga. I already know the size and measurement of my front door. Its a standard door. They charged me $40.00 for some girl to come measure my door. I wish I could show the video of her measurement, She literally looked at the door and walked off. I picked out a Anderson Glass Storm door 299.00 and the Anderson door handle 89.99. Unique Installers said I needed a piece of plywood added to my door frame for 79.00. A complete LIE. This is the only storm door allowed by the HOA on our homes, a clear glass standard storm door. I told them they weren't putting any piece of wood on my home and I had someone else install it, it didn't need anything extra, they lied and scammed me out of 40.00 for a fake measurement and tried to scam me out of and extra 79.00 to add a piece of wood to me door frame that I didn't need, after already charging 179.00 for an installation. read more

I had the worst customer service experience with Home Depot ordering a GE Cafe Microwave online. I received the microwave and had it installed a week later. Almost immediately the door latch malfunctioned causing the door not to close repeatedly. Sometimes it would close, other times it would not. On Thanksgiving Day it failed completely causing guests not to be able to reheat their meals, ruining our gathering reheating food in the stove. I called Home Depot Online the next day to be told after 48 hours I would have to deal with GE directly there is nothing they can do....SMH. Home Depot scheduled the appointment and GE Confirmed it. My appointment was for Friday November 29th and I waited half the day only to be told the technician was not coming and they would reschedule me 7 days later, unbelievable. I found out GE only has subcontractors working on their service team in my area, no corporate service reps....Wow. The first GE service person I spoke to seemed to be out Black Friday shopping and pretended to place a service call for me but mysteriously claimed she could not hear me and hung up on me. I called back spoke to multiple GE supervisors and got nowhere so I called back to Home Depot and got the same response that after 48 hours we offer no refunds on appliances and I had to deal with GE directly. I firmly believe the GE subcontractor was supposed to provide service coverage for the day but failed to do so and then seemingly tried to hide the fact they had no one available to honor my service call. Going forward if a vendor does not have a 30-60 day return policy I will not order from them at all. Meaning I will NOT order any other appliances from Home Depot. Now I have to wait 7 more days for a repair from GE and Home Depot tells me too bad, no credit or compensation for your inconvenience at all. What has happened to customer service at Home Depot? I have bought my last GE product period after the cheap microwave is sold as top of the line with a flimsy latch that should be on a bottom on the line low end microwave. Elton Alexander read more

I've have had nothing but ongoing problems with a privacy fence purchase I made at the McDonough location in April 2022. I've had nothing but problem with the structure. I have notified the store of the problem with installation of the fence the people they sent did not do a good job and were unprofessional . I made several complaints to Home Depot. Also sent several emails. Nothing has been completed . I've been getting the run around from the store manager (Melokule) and sales rep (Richard). They are aware of my ongoing problem and have ignored me and done nothing to see that this is completed. I have been inconvenienced for over a year now and my fence has NOT been fixed. This Home Depot is usually pretty well stocked and organized. I usually drive past Lowe's to come here. Few tips - Look for boxes that are different than other boxes on the shift for a big product like lawn equipment. Usually it's the same exact product but an older model and it's usually on clearance. - wait for the 5 got $10 sales on mulch. It's the cheapest they offer. Usually around Memorial Day and forth of July. They also have a spring Black Friday sale. - if you are looking for plants I think Lowe's have a better selection - be paitent if you need something cut in lumber because it can be hard to find someone sometimes. read more

Of the three locations, Elenwood, Morrow, and this one. This is by far the best. Freaking hard to get to and get out of thanks to Henry County land use plans. But it's not this locations issue. What is nice is the inventory was correct. The cashier was helpful and the in store help did this, "Sorry this is not my department, But I take care of it for you." The ones that accidentally make eye contact with you, will begin walking as if they have something to do when they clearly don't. Absolute worst Home Depot experience I have ever had. Rented a pressure washer that had a hole in the cord. The clerk refused to give a refund even though we returned the item a few hours later telling them exactly what happened. The cord has metal wrapped through and had a hole the size of a penny. The machine cold, clearly had not been run. We drove :30 minutes each way to rent this tool. Bought online to be picked up in store, a mini refrigerator... and all was fine until we got home, opened the box and saw this big unacceptable dent on the side. I then called the store and told them the situation. The first woman I spoke to, told me to just come in the store and get a new one. I said no, I want to make sure you guys have one for me, before I come in, let me speak to someone who can help me. She transferred me to someone else, and she said the same thing. So I insisted that they put in the order for me before I go. (I live 30 mins away from this location, and it is a huge inconvenience to have to come back without another one being in stock.) The 2nd woman, finally agreed to put in the order for me, and gave me a confirmation number. Great!!!... right? Wrong! I am now... currently at the store, and have been standing here, waiting for 45 minutes. One person said there wasn't any more available, then someone else said there was one, just in the back somewhere.... Wondering if this store cares about customer service at all? I know that other locations would at least take the initiative to make this situation right, yet there's no sign of that here, after this whole situation, I recommend if you can, go to another location! read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID I want to alert everyone to an unethical business practice that is being conducted. I ordered online 2 aluminum angle stock on July 7, 2022, was charged for 2 - but only received 1. I was told that it is company policy NOT TO BELIEVE THE CUSTOMER AND WILL NOT CREDIT ME THE ONE NEVER SENT. I can't think of anything more unethical. I tried finding the appropriate email address to send this to CEO Edward Decker but was sufficiently buried or removed. I'll be reporting this to the BBB, anywhere I can on social media, and of the many thousands of dollars I've spent with Home Depot over the years but will assure you - they'll not get a dime from me again. We came in to get keys made. There was already a lady standing there 10 min waiting. The key maker was paged more than once but still no one came. After maybe 10 more mins a guy walks by and tells us he will be another min or so. Then the lady from the self check out comes to help out. After she's halfway done the guy finally comes back! I went to purchase a generator. Ended up buying a generator and a pressure washer. Was assured by manager Allan that both worked. Got covered in gas because pressure washer didnt have a fuel line. Got the generator going and it only shot 40 amps. They suceeded in making me look like a jackass. And im here now with Angela who has refused to exchange the items and make it right. read more

After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau Home Depot took action and paid for the damage to our vehicle. The problem was with a company called Sedgwick which handles Home Depot claims. I don't know if they are an actual insurance company or they just take care of claims for them. Either way they are not reliable. The lady at the Home Depot office contacted us and got things done that Sedgwick failed to do. She was very nice and helpful and kept in contact with us until things were settled. Sedgwick claimed they couldn't contact us by phone and didn't receive our e-mails. The Home Depot office didn't have a problem with either one of these. Sedgwick just tried to avoid us. In the end things turned out good. I have a suggestion for the manger of this Home Depot or any stores that use shopping carts. Train your employees how to gather and handle these things properly. Letting go of a whole train of them,especially in a slanted parking lot like this one is just asking for trouble. We will continue to shop at Home Depot since it is an excellent place to purchase merchandise. However we won't be parking near one of those shopping cart racks that's for sure. Our only discern is that this should have been settled without ever having to contact the BBB. read more

I want to give the McDonough location 5 stars for their managers customer service, but I have to give a 4 overall due to the failed products. The managers of this store, Jason especially, went absolutely above and beyond to help me and I will never forget it! It was beyond customer service, it was pure kindness! I had ordered 3 very large industrial grade hoses for a horse farm online through Home Depot.com. Well they all arrived with broken connection pieces! Not one of them worked when I tried to connect them, the connection pieces exploded off each other, which then caused the hoses to leak even in the rubber areas. Let me just say, hoses are GARBAGE these days! I had paid $300 for these hoses and to all 3 fail out of the box was maddening. I now had no way to water my animals. I called the 1 (800) number for customer service and they were down right rude and unwilling to help me. Wouldn't even give me my money back so I could try and buy something else, nor would they let me do an exchange! The local McDonough store not only wanted to help but the manager came out himself to my farm, delivered me brand new hoses and helped me hook up all new hoses to make sure they wouldn't be a problem and reached as far as they needed to go. Now THAT is insane amazing customer service! I am so thankful for the team of people that made that happen. FYI... hoses these days suck and are all made cheaply in China. I haven't had any last me over a year, which is sadly why I had to only give 4 stars. Wish HD would find better hoses to stock. But Jason and his team are second to none! He made my week! read more

It's pretty easy to find whatever it is that you are looking for. However if you do need assistance, the associates are generally knowledgeable. We used the rental area for the first time a month ago. We explained that we needed a pressure washer to clean our siding because our cheaper one wouldn't reach the higher parts. They sent us home with a good pressure washer but didn't mention the extension wand until after we brought it back. We ended up having to rent it a second time with the extension wand. It would have saved money if they had told us about it in the first place. If it had not been for that, they would get 5 stars. read more

Do not buy appliances from Home Depot. They run all their deliveries through a third-party so they won't be accountable for any late or messed up deliveries.I've been waiting for over a month for my appliances for my home, like a refrigerator and dryer to have food in the house for my family and clean clothes on their back. They keep on pushing my delivery date farther and farther away. They have the items this is not a Covid shortage but for some reason they pick and choose what they feel like delivering for the day. I was supposed to be first today because they've been messing up they skipped me and now they're telling me I have to wait two more weeks . I go to this Home Depot all the time, and for the past few weeks I've had to pick up several deliveries in store. While I was going to pick up an item I had purchased, I remembered I needed trash bags. I did not know what aisle the trash bags were on, so, I asked someone. The associate took me to the aisle and asked which kind of bags I was looking for. I told him 'force flex'. He then recommended that I try the comparable Home Depot brand. I was like 'nah' I have to buy the force flex because the quality is good and that's what I'm used to. He understood me completely, but suggested that I buy my bags and try their brand free of charge. So I took him up on the offer. His customer service was awesome...thanks Alan. I ordered a Samsung Refrigerator and Stove on Sept 5 with a scheduled delivery on Sept. 17. On that day, waiting for 2 weeks for my appliances, I found out that my Stove was not on the truck. No one called and no provided me any reason for my stove not being on the truck. I had already given my stove and refrigerator to a nonprofit a few days before the delivery. I now have no stove and now forced to eat out. When I called the store, Chad said there was nothing he could do for me. Josh claimed that they would be get me a loaner but that never happened. I have been waiting of someone to call me but it seems like no one cares. No one has any solutions and seems not to be worried that I have no STOVE! I am so tired of calling the 1-800 number and no one knows what is going on. Oh no, but they charged my credit card right now without any issues. I am so disappointed in Home Depot this is not acceptable. DO not go into the Mcdonough store and do not expect customer service. Went to Home Depot tonight to purchase a grill and propane tank.. we check out and get a self service code for the propane tank station the one that opened was emptied. The clerk stated we need to go inside return it and purchase another one to get a new code, completed that got a new code and the 2nd time received an empty tank.. all this time we were waiting for the Manager Lisa to come out and get the grill for us. Walked back into the store and the Manger says in a snotty voice that she is the only Manager here and we are not the only customers, very unprofessional as she yelled this across from another register. Needless to say we returned two empty propane tanks and she had one customer in line and knew we were waiting on her as the nice stock boy reminded her 3 times. We waited for over 30 minutes as she continued helping other customers and unprofessionally was yelling at us from across the counter.. She claimed her name was Lisa and the only Manager on duty at 8pm at night.
