Absolutely terrible truck rental. Do NOT USE. Went to Home Depot day before to select and reserve cargo van. The next morning went to finalize rental and scanned drivers license for rental. Spent 3 hours trying to get their system to accept my drivers license. Home Depot uses a company called CLEAR to verify/approve DL. No employee knew why it would not accept DL. After 3 hours I was told to call CLEAR their verification company, After an hour and a half trying to get an actual person at CLEAR on the phone, a CLEAR agent said, you have to have a "REAL ID" drivers license AND a smart phone to rent a truck or van from Home Depot!!!!. We went immediately to UHaul who rented us a van with no problem. Home Depot rental agents did not know any of this. HD hides these requirements until you are ready to pick up the van. And the employees Did NOT know. read more

The only reason I am giving this store a 5 star is because of Sykora at customer service. She needs to be the manager up there. I have had terrible customer service up there multiple times but she has helped me by stepping in even when I was her customer. I would rate it a 1, but now I know that if I ask for her my problem gets solved. She is nice, quick, relatable, and efficient. She is what the world is missing now with customer service and I hope she gets the appreciation she deserves from more people than just me. read more

Beware!! -Their department will not assist in finding an appliance to fit any needs or dimensions that your home requires. -They do not communicate with the contractors to install the appliance, lying about their communication. Constant communication and visits were needed on our end just to get a stove delivered and installed. - The appliance department does not have any knowledge about the appliances they sell. This has got to be the worst hardware store I have ever seen. Sloppy, disorganized, understaffed. The people are friendly but the organization of this place is horrible. I couldn't even get to the materials I needed and looking at the aisle it would have taken someone a 1/2 hour or more to get to it IF an employee were actually available. Drove a few miles to Lowe's near Shelby Farms and had the exact opposite experience - bright, organized, and friendly helpful staff. Worth the extra 10 or 15 minute drive. read more

I never knew how stressful it is to build a house. I thought we'd planned every last detail from the beginning and that if we hired a contractor, it would be easy. Well, it's not. There are thousands of decisions to make, some of which you've never even thought of, and some have to be made immediately. Every day, I'm dealing with contractors, dealers, ordering, picking things out, code enforcement, meeting people here, meeting people there, solving problems. I'm working with the bank, insurance, and credit card companies. Plus I'm doing much of the work myself, and every time I get my tools out, I have to pull away to deal with something else. At the end of each day, it seems like I've only accomplished half of what I needed to. The other workers are going so fast, it's hard for me to keep up with all the jobs I have to do. Plus working a full time job and raising a two year old. And maintaining over 5 acres of yard work. Not to mention having to bury my dog. It's been stressful. It's been a 7 days a week ordeal. That's what my life's been like lately. So on Sunday 9/3/17, we needed a bathtub for the master bathroom so the plumber can install it this week. I didn't realize it beforehand, but it's extremely hard to find a tub in a store. The one we want is a whirlpool corner tub that was $800 plus another hundred for the drain and another for tax. $1000 out the door. Home Depot on Truse shows to have 1 at the store. We called the store and told them we were 50 miles away and we want somebody to go look at it and see if they're sure it's there. AJ gets on the phone and tells us he's the manager. He says he sees 2 boxes on the top shelf but he can't tell if they're the right tub. He spends more time telling us how busy he is and he doesn't have time to climb a ladder than it would have taken to climb the ladder and look. He refuses to climb or ask anyone else to climb and won't call us back or let us know. Says we'll have to drive there to see if they have it, knowing how far we were away. Two minutes it would have taken him to look. We wasted 3 hours plus $20 in gas. We drop the baby off with the neighbors, hook up the trailer and drive 50 miles one way to find that they don't have our tub. AJ again starts apologizing how busy he is and I told him I'm busy too. Every body's busy and what he's saying is that we aren't important and his time is worth more than mine. But the real kicker is that he wants to order a tub for us AND CHARGE US $100 FOR DELIVERY! I told AJ that's a load of crap and I WILL NOT pay $100 for delivery when I'm already at the store with a trailer! He wouldn't budge a damn bit either. If he had any accountability of the situation he would let me have it for the out the door price without paying delivery! Not to mention the 2-3 week wait! Another store shows to have two. AJ calls and gets them to check. Guess what? They can't find it either! We will not buy materials for our house here, and I'll only come if it's convenient. All the lumber is coming from Fayette Lumber anyway. I don't need this shit. I'm too busy! The district manager will hear about this. read more

Ordered on line three days ago for pickup , 10 fence boards that was three days ago. They show in stock. Now it will take me two to three weeks to get money back. Because they want accept phone calls at the store and can get my order ready. Wow save yourself some time and go somewhere else. read more

this used to be a fine home depot, but much like everything else in memphis it has gone downhill. been going here for years and i can tell you there has been a real decline...covid has only made it worse. - few lanes open for checkout - employees standing around chatting and ignoring customers - most employees are just warm bodies with zero knowledge - no one is in any particular hurry to get anything done pro tip - if you have a question about something find an employee who appears to be over thirty and you'll probably get results. what a shame. read more

Last night my charming companion and I stopped off at HD to pick up a heavy duty drill bit for him. While we were standing in front of the bits a clerk walks up to see if we need any help. I know what you're thinking, that we were in HD for less than 5 minutes and someone asked to help us is a fairy story but it's true! So, the clerk was helping Charming Companion find the correct size bit when he (the clerk) turns to an end-cap, pointing to a heavy gauge double-aught titanium bit and makes a joke about this one was not necessary to the job but 'we men' always wanting bigger and better. I make no comment but the clerk misinterprets the look on my face as boredom and remarks to him "She's completely uninterested in this tool talk" to which I say "No, I just have more tools than him" Instead of shutting up, the clerk continues to make an ass of himself by making another remark to the effect that Charming Companion is looking for more/better tools to catch up. I remained silent as Charming Companion, thanks the clerk and walks with me to the check out every so often looking at me and saying "Okay, okay" As we walk out, Charming Companion hands me the receipt and says, "Here you are sweetheart, maybe you'd like to complete the survey" So, I guess irritation and incredulity looks like disinterest. We recently purchased some appliances from Home Depot on Truse Ave in Memphis, TN. The salesperson did not know anything about the appliances and had us sit at a computer and research on line. We selected two items and worked out the purchase, delivery and installation. We advised that we had a certain type of appliance and were told the new replacement would go in without a problem. The first time our appliances were delivered, we were told they could not install them due to a certain type of wiring. After speaking with the Appliance Manager, we were advised that the first delivery people were incorrect and everything should go in smoothly. After the second attempt to deliver and install, we were told the same thing - they did not handle the type of wiring. We headed back to the store and asked for the Store Manager, who was not in. The Assistant Manager met us and then called up the Appliance Manager. The Assistant Manager walked away. We spent quite a bit of time in the store, trying to understand what we need to do. The Appliance Manager finally figured out that we need a measure. Another afternoon at the house to have someone come and measure, another stop at the store to pay for some minor construction to be done and now two more appointments - one to have one of the appliances installed and the other delivered, then another date to have the other appliance installed after the construction. Here we sit, on the first "new" delivery date and installation, however, the delivery company failed to notify us of the time slot, so we missed out despite our extreme effort to get to the house. We now have another delivery date on the same day as the installation with no timing to ensure everything runs smoothly. We cannot reach the Store Manager or the Appliance Manager as they are not in the store today. We have also reached out to the Home Depot Customer Service Line with absolutely no resolution or understanding or assistance to ensure the delivery and installation will go as planned. We get to cross our fingers and hope at this point? We have paid everything in full and 5 weeks later, do not have our products or service. read more

I went to home Depot 6/18/20 and bought some plumbing stuff I and I priced out replacing all gutters on house about 1200 worth and come back to buy the 1200 worth of gutter, brackets and stuff 6/23/20 I drove all the way out to home Depot on truse parkway memphis off poplar to buy all of it. The rude security guard lady not let me in cause I didn't have mask on.Well I didn't have mask on 6/18/20 so I had no idea u have to wear mask now and there was other people inside store without mask on top of this which aggravated me. So I wasnt about to drive all the way home for a mask. I went to Lowe's and spent 1342 and some change.they let me in. Home Depot has lost my business for good .and lost the $1300 too today. Store #703 is the worst store I've ever been to. I'm curious as to why regional management have not overhauled this store. The best thing to happen was when they installed new self scanners. Now I don't have to talk to staff, who are lazy, unfriendly, and mostly useless (with the exception of a few good workers). My advise is to fire all management and 30% of floor staff. Disregard all seniority, and start fresh. High associate accountability for 1 year, watch your profits grow. It's not a hard decision. read more

We really have to thank these guys for getting us the best deal on a washer and dryer. Their service was simply amazing. They sat with us for 45 minutes and found us a set that fit our needs and could be delivered fast. I posted in late June about flooring that was installed poorly. Finally, Home Depot and their installation company, Romanoff, agreed to replace the flooring. Yesterday, a Home Depot plumber came to disconnect the dishwasher and remove it. We turned on the kitchen sink tonight for the first time since the disconnect. Water is leaking inside and damaging our new cabinet, which will probably have to be replaced now. The cabinet probably can't be removed without damaging the granite countertop, so that's another process. The delays and incompetence are mind-boggling. I am about to cry, because I am so upset that my kitchen has been unusable. I have no idea when this process will be complete. It seems to be one step forward and two steps back, all the time. read more

Probably would prefer to shop at a local hardware store, but refuse to drive to Midtown or Germantown when Home Despot is 3 minutes away. Generally, they are fairly helpful here... some better than others, but nowhere near the knowledge you might pick up at a real local hardware store. read more
