Having a hard time finding the right fit for an air purifier for my office desk. Bought 3 at other places-too loud, too big, one broken. So it's been frustrating. Have to return all of them. Decided to stop in to see what HD had. Found one that looked really good. Good brand, perfect size. One on display, kinda dirty with an open small box of trash on top. I found new ones below still bubble wrapped but I was happy to see them. Walked back up front, waited for help. A guy doing returns asked if he could help me. I told him my story and asked if any way I could plug that display in-just to hear how loud it was. I told him it was very messy and hanging on by a zip tie. Immediately I could tell, this was just too much for him. Normally there are outlets or some places have them plugged in. "Yeah, well, um, you can buy one, if it doesn't work, you can return it". I said I'd rather not. He said yeah, um it's a display, so yeah, um no we can't. I said you can't cut a little worn out zip tie, let me here the fan so I can know if it will work for me. "Yeah, um, no, we can't". Don't hurt yourself Buddy with that exemplary customer service. No "I'm sorry", no effort whatsoever for such a tiny request. Sad. Been in customer service my whole life. Waited a good long while for help also b/c he was busy just chatting with a customer who his co-worker was already helping. I guess the job description was "nothing too strenuous". Thanks Home Depot. Eh, it's Home Depot. You know what you're going to get. You'll hunt for 5 minutes to find someone who works there, only to learn they don't support that area, etc, etc. We came here to get a mirror and a sliding door. We knew the part numbers. Hell, we knew where in the store to get them. We just needed someone to help us. Someone who knew how to get things off of high shelves. Oh, and someone who knew how to let us buy things and have our contractor pick them up the next day. While working on this not-so-covert mission, we found a man. This man was in orange and a Home Depot apron. He was in the right area! Score! Oh, no. He only supports appliances. Perhaps this man could help us seek another orange-clad man who could help us. Nope! He was just heading to the break room. I think you get the idea. We called, from the Natick store, the Watertown store, and ordered everything in about 5 minutes. Noone ever helped us. Short story, if you know what you want, and you can reach it, and don't need employees, you'll get a good deal here. Why? Because they obviously are saving some money on hiring employees. I love the Golden Triangle, and this Home Depot has many advantages over Lowe's down the street in Framingham, making it my favorite hardware superstore in this area. Home Depot is a great store, in general. What differs between each Home Depot is the layout and the staff. Yeah, some are cleaner and more "put-together" than others.... but I haven't seen a really messy hardware superstore, either Home Depot or Lowe's for a LONG time. My first impression of this Home Depot was great. This area where the Natick Home Depot is located gets extremely busy and congested, and normally people going to one of these huge hardware stores are just going there, and then going home to work on their houses, and so on. I much prefer the location of Home Depot in comparison to Lowe's at it is the first store accessible via Route 30 (Commonwealth Rd), so people going to Home Depot don't have to wait in all of the never-moving Speen Street traffic. Very convenient and one of the main reasons this HD is better than driving down Route 30 to Lowe's. Additionally, the Natick location had a few employees at the front entrance, greeting customers and directing them. I walked in and they were extremely friendly, and without asking they immediately directed me to the same aisle where the light bulb I brought in (I had a weird looking GE Bulb that ran out, and needed a new one..... the reason I came into this store). They had a great light bulb selection (the only section I can speak of, as I haven't visited this location in the past). My bulb was on major clearance, so I bought a bunch. Ladies at self checkout were also extremely friendly and helpful as well. This is definitely one of the better Home Depot locations I've visited. My fiance and I bought a house in November of 2006, and this place has become a weekly trip, if not more than that. The store can definitely be overwhelming at first, you never know what you'll really need from this store until you own your own home. But the salespeople (once you find one) are all very knowledgable, and make it all sound so easy. After a few trips here, I was calling my own shots, and having wood cut! Never thought that would be possible. I'm sure we'll be back many, many, many times, we have lots of work ahead of us. read more

While it pains me to write off an entire store because of one department (Appliances), I think I am going to have to. Do not buy a refrigerator, dishwasher, or anything else that requires any sort of installation activity. The people that are contracted out to are completely clueless and will inevitably break what they are handling. On top of this, once that appliance is in the hands of the people Home Depot contracts out to, Home Depot washes their hands of the transaction. In our case, we were delivered a broken fridge, the installers could have cared less, and then HD told us to call the manufacturer. Go to HD for paint and nails, not appliances. update: while I still wouldn't recommend buying appliances from Home Depot, they get 1 star back for at least engaging the customer in an attempt to fix the problem. They do not respect your time. I spent close to 20 hours (probably more) waiting, staying on hold, and talking with people who were clearly not sharing information. Don't waste your time. This guy should be on the fast track to management, he knows what he's doing and explains it to the customers, he really looks like he enjoys what he's doing. This guy completed my paint project with great expertise and enthusiasm. I'm glad I went to Home Depot instead of Lowe's for this paint project, Colin made the difference. read more

Great example for kids by having your associates smoking cigarettes right next to the entrance of the store while they are on break. Although they may remove their orange smocks, many of them hold them in their hands whilst they are smoking. A horrible example to set for kids and a blemish on your brand when people have to be subjected to second hand smoke in front of your store. Shame on you Hime Depot. read more

Came here at 9:10 (they close at 10) to get material to build a loft bed. Richard was the first person we encountered and the only one we needed to at that! He took the next hour to answer questions guide us Cut the wood and bonus load it into the car and tie down an MDF board to the roof. Frank assisted Richard and I would like to commend them both for excellent customer service as we exceed the time allotted before they closed and they happily helped us from start to finish with not once making us feel unwelcome! This review is based on the PAINT section only! I wanted to paint the exterior main door of my home red. I stopped by the Home Depot to check out their paint samples. I found a Glidden brand (red delicious) that looked nice. It even had a sample painted on a piece of wood and attached to the wall by the displays. I spoke with I believe his name was Dan. Told him I would like a half gallon high gloss. He said I would also need a grey primer and made me up a batch of that as well. When he had finished mixing the paint he put a little dab on the top of the can. It looked hot pink to me but he explained it would dry darker especially after 2 coats and wait 24 hours between coats. This past weekend I started to paint. The first coat went on hot pink. My boyfriend was beside himself. What will the neighbors think of our hot pink door? I explained that it would darken when it dries and would be a lovely dark red after the second coat. I trusted the home depot guy as this is his living. Anyway after waiting and applying the second coat it looked like my home should be in Bermuda or the Bahamas. My door in New England was HOT PINK. I started to get very irate. I had spent an entire weekend painting this door and now i would have to start from scratch. I headed back to the depot and spoke to Dan. He remembered me. I brought with me the used can of paint (clearly pink) and showed him the swatch of paint it should look like. Seemed like he spent 15 minutes dabbing a spot of my paint onto the swatch and drying it with a blow dryer. I kept telling him that he could do that all day long but that it won't turn red. He said he made the paint up by the formula Glidden gave him. He tried mixing a new can using a different formula and it turned out orange/brown. At this point I was clearly exhausted and very frustrated. A lady overheard my conversation and came over to say she painted her door red and gave me the name of the Behr brand she used. I checked out the sample and it looked good. Had Dan make me up a batch of that and I left. I understand mistakes happen but I clearly trusted the Home Depot guy as I figured he was experienced. The most frustrating part was I spent an entire weekend on this project and now I have another entire weekend to do the same thing over again. What a WASTE!!! As for this Home Depot, I like them. Be careful when using their self check out areas! They have switched from scan the object over the scanner to using hand gun scanners which each customer must handle to scan each object. These are NOT DISINFECTED between each use! When I asked to speak to a manager, Mike, the Assistant Manager, came and at first said, "I can't do that. We're shorthanded. We're in a pandemic!" Gee, I wonder why? (they had a full time person there overseeing 3 out of 4 working stations, so not an excuse). Then he told me my solution was to stand in line and wait for a cashier. I pointed out that self check out stations are designed for the public to use and if each person touches the scanners, they could infect others. His next response was, "You don't have to shop here!" I had already purchased a quart of paint and then he shouted at me, "did you pay for that?", twice as I walked away to the exit. I said I wasn't going to talk to him any more and he could call the police if he thinks I didn't pay (I had the receipt under the can) because I was going to call the Natick BOH. He has no right to even suggest such a thing to a customer who is still inside the store! Then he had security follow me virtually to the door! I turned and said, "do you want to see my receipt?" He told me "no" and said, "wait till you get 6 feet from anyone to exit", just to harass me. This happened on 5/18/20 at the Natick Home Depot on Speen St. at appx. 1:00 pm. read more

I spent last month almost living at Home Depot Natick store because I purchased a piece of property that needed a total renovation. I know EXACTLY what to expect when it comes to customer service at HD, not the greatest, but always helpful. Until yesterday, 8/10/2015. Manager G.S.H, it might be a good idea for you to check the surveillance camera for the key cutting area from 3:10-3:40 to find out who exactly is this salesperson that "helped" me. I (in red tshirt) brought in a key that was made sometime last week, which did not work, I needed to have it either fixed and redone. I patiently waited about 10 minutes and encountered the worst experience at Home Depot with this "gentlesaLesman". You should find this person and ask him how many times "what do you want me to do" he asked me during the 10 minutes I stood there, and why something can be simply explained "machines have limitations" had to be said as "I didn't make it, the machine did, if you don't like what the machine makes then I don't know what to do"; and how he could cut off a customer while speaking with a "time is up" hand gesture? Manager H, I'm not sure if I would be determined enough to bring this issue to your upper level. But this review is definitely staying on yelp for all to view. I don't have the time to type what exactly happened and who said what, because you should be a lot more anxious to find out what exactly happened than me telling you the story. The salesman is probably in his early 60s, not tall and wears a dome shaped sapphire ring on his left ring finger. It was not the first time he had been rude, there are at least two other times that he had talked to me (one time my husband was also present) with a almost "shocking" manner. Called twice to make sure they had a specific floor in stock before I made the trip out there since no local stores had it. They told me they had plenty. Of course I go to the store and they don't have it at all. They told me another store would have it. I asked how they could possibly know that since I they said themselves they had something that they didn't. Then they told me I could call that store to check. That's what I did with this store and they still told me the wrong thing! I had to drive an additional 25 miles out of my way to get what I needed because I was told the wrong information. I'm writing this review as a long time shopper at Home Depot in Natick. I'm a bit perplexed over a few of the negative reviews. I get it a specific unfortunate incident should be written on here so people can be informed "buyer beware". But I don't understand when people confuse "online" shopping to "in store" stock items. Online you can buy 20-30% more items available from cross selling products, people that expect a item to be on the shelf well that is a pipe dream. The staff at Home Depot are generally nice. Some departments have very experienced staff and some have less seasoned staff. Trades jobs are specialized and skilled and how many give up there trade job to come work for Home Depot? A retired worker and out of work contractor etc....overall Home Depot does a pretty good job in there hiring. We've bought everything from appliances, rugs installs, to wood, electrical, plumbing etc...to flowers. Everything we bought went pretty well. Was everything of the detailed transactions handled without a small glitch no. But nothing bad, or and no bad overall service. I'm very thankful to have a Home Depot in my area. 20 yrs shopper in Natick. I have never had a bad experience yet. The only pet peeve I would have is that self checkout kiosk, I don't like them, I prefer a real person. Sometimes there is limited check out staff, so the kiosk is the option to avoid waiting in line. But again, it's not a bad experience it's my preferred shopping. Did not have to spend a lot of time going back and forth between the isles trying to find a what i needed. We purchased a new washer and dryer from this home depot last week. The service was okay. We went to lowes and the service was better. We ended up selecting home depot because they carried the product that we ultimately wanted. We are supposed to have both appliances delivered tomorrow and our experience so far is less than acceptable. We were told we'd get a call the day prior...it's 8pm and we have not received a call. About 3pm this afternoon I tried to call the store to get an update and they just kept saying they didn't know. I called the # on our receipt to provide info on our delivery and have not been able to get through. I called the store back and was told they couldn't help me.....I asked for a manager and wouldn't you know someone finally gave us our 4 hour window for tomorrow. No lie, I had to call them about 8 times to get a confirmation. Even if I have to pay a little more somewhere else, I'm not sure i'd buy anything requiring delivery again. read more

Excellent home depot in the greater Boston area. The associates are very knowledgeable about their products compared to other surrounding HDs I had been to. Specifically, Erik Holm knows his products inside and out, and truly can make some great recommendations. He provided us superior customer support! The assistant store manager Mike is also very helpful, We encountered an issue while we were there and he addressed it very promptly. Wow! I know from experience that buying large items, whether it be a car or an appliance is kind of stressful. For some reason their always seems to be mistakes along the way and my latest experience with Home Depot was probably one of the worst! Bottom Line: Salesperson was nice, sold me what I wanted, helped my wife pick it out the day before, very knowledgable older gentleman who really knew his stuff. Everyone else: No clue where anything was or where to find something as simple as owens corning board, and then argued with me about it. Cashier wasted my time looking up a deal I knew was not going to apply and then wasted my time again lecturing to me about the credit card. Delivery: They outsource delivery so.....the power cord and the vent were not on the truck so they didn't install, they did take my old dryer away but that wasn't on order either, probably going to sell it for parts or fix it but thats not my problem. Home Depot then made me drive back to the store to pickup the cord and the vent and scheduled install for......you guessed it TWO DAYS LATER!!!!! Never once told me this, just assumed I had the time to wait around for 2 days without a dryer. I did the install myself, took me a little while to figure it out and had to buy another power cord because the other one shorted and the filter was a piece of garbage, ended up using the original vent instead. What can you say really? I mean they had to find ways to screw this up and they sure did, I figured maybe one or two things might go wrong but this much was too much to take. They could have fixed this really easy, just send an employee out with the cord and the vent and put it together for me, would have been a heck of a lot better than refunding me the cost of the cord and the vent and taking money off, that was a good step but totally unnecessary had they just actually helped me. So long story short, we are gonna get the washer to go with but wanted to see their service first, I think you can guess where I won't be shopping from now on. HD is just a crummy big box chain that you have to go to when you need a specific product, nothing more nothing less. read more

Despite nearly three months of ordering a custom door and storm door for our new home the contractor arrived stating that Home Depot ordered the wrong sized door six weeks ago and now we must get that corrected. The manager Mike at Home Depot thought this was funny. Actually laughed. Then had the gall to look at my husband for direction and a solution instead of proposing a fair solution himself. Abhorrent sexist behavior as I have managers all the home renovation projects myself. NEVER AGAIN. Then they settled on framing in a shorter door but wanted to leave it roughed in and unfinished. "It's illegal to rent welders in Mass to the public", I informed the employee that was incorrect and that the Tewksbury store does as well as other companies in the area. I've had decent experiences here in the past and if I'd never ordered appliances this would be a 3-4 star review. I ordered a fridge that was supposed to be delivered on 12/8 and the delivery crew never showed (after calling me to confirm the appointment the day before). They outsource the delivery to Spirit Delivery (awful company) and don't really take responsibility for the process once you pay and leave the store. It took almost 40 minutes on hold before I could speak with someone who was able to process the refund 4 days after the missed delivery window. So in addition to stealing a saturday (the delivery window was 10:45-2:45) I also lost 40 min of work time trying to cancel the order. In summary, for small things they're ok but for appliances avoid at all costs. read more

Got flooring estimate. Took 2 weeks. When they advertise one day. After ordering floors and installation. Came to pick up things first time after giving a 3 hour heads up I waited 3 hours at the store as nothing was ready when I arrived. Next time I came I gave a days notice. Still nothing was ready when I arrived for pickup. Another 4 hours wasted waiting for them to gather things I called a day ahead about. After I got home with my material not only was the floor not what I ordered but it was the wrong amount as well. After reaching out to Home Depot customer service 1800number as well as store manager as well as anyone else that could help get this resolved there was no solution. As one of the associates suggested. You can just go to another store. After they wasted my time and money this exactly what I'm doing. The order is canceled. I would suggest if your thinking about getting flooring done. Do not go to Home Depot. Worst customer experience in 30 years. On top of it all it has been over 3 weeks ago that I returned them thousands of dollars of their wrong ordered flooring. I am still to get that money back to my credit card! If you want your holidays ruined and your card charged for stuff you returned a month ago. Shop at Home Depot natick. You also will not be able to reach the store manager. Ok..I have a LOT of patience when it comes to box stores. You get what you pay for and service is generally not on the list. We recently ordered flooring for our house and to say that it's a nightmare is kind. Every saleperson has a different "opinion" of what can or cannot be done and you better pray that he has a lobe. We were at the register paying when another employee came out and said "can't do that" and back we went. Then they were overidden by the "expediter". They never call back-you have to hunt them down and right now, we are expecting the worst. There seems to be no supervision of the compentency of the help or the follow thru to the customer. I met some very nice salespeople but if they don't know what they are doing - why are they left to take orders?? Where is HD management?? Even the outsourced businesses they use think they are crazy. I used HD Natick to completely redo our one bedroom condo in Framingham. All new appliances,kitchen cabinets ,countertops,all new flooring,sinks,faucets and new bathroom. All the contractors they recommended and used were terrible and work had to be redone up to 4 times . Store personnel can't manage these unprofessional outside contractors. Tried to contact store MGR for help but never responded. Work that should have been completed in about 6 weeks took about 4 months. I've never needed to speak with a manager before, the store is very well run as compared to other Home Depot locations I've been. This time I was redirected to Jeff, the manager, because of a tool vendor not honoring their lifetime service agreement. To be honest with you, I didn't expect to get anothing except for some lip service or backing of the vendor. Instead, I got someone who understood the situation and agreed that it's ridiculous that they don't stand behind what they specifically put on their box that they are going to do. He went above and beyond and helped me with what I needed. I didn't think I'd get that from a big box store let alone a manager so I am surprised and very happy with the result. The place I go when I need some wood or home building supplies. They're pretty much self serve but if you need help you can usually track someone down. Prices are competitive. They do have lower quality parts than independent smaller stores. For example kohler and other faucets here are made to lower quality spec than say an independent plumbing supply shop. Same model number but lower quality. Call a plumber and ask and they all agree. read more

I went into home depot Natick to pick up a large and very heavy amount of pressure treated lumber as I pushed the lumber cart past 4 employees they all looked at me as I stopped at the first pile .They stood there and watched me struggle with 2x10 x14 boards ( each one weighs approx. 60 pounds , as there soaking wet ) 4 additional employees who work in that dept. or close by walked past me and never even asked if id like some help . As im pushing the approx. 600 pounds of material out of the area I stated loudly , " thanks for the help " No one even offered to help move the cart . 6 more employees stood at the area by the check out and watched me strain and push the cart ( I have a picture of this ) upon leaving the store I commented to the check out person that there will be 3 men outside and they will not help me with my materials . sure enough I passed them by ( there were only 2 ) and they stood there looking directly at me( Pro Loaders ) and never offered to help. There at least 8 employees I ran into/ observed that did nothing for the store or for ANY customer . I watched another older gentle man walk out of the store with a huge pile of lumber and yes, yet again they( the PRO loaders ) stood there talking about last nights ball game. *****************************HOME DEPOT PLEASE DO NOTE ; ***************************** IF YOU GOT RID OF THE DEAD WOOD THE PRICES WOULD CERTAINLY BE LOWER AND YOUR CUSTOMERS WOULD ACTUALLY WANT TO RETURN TO THE STORE . I was completely astounded by the lack of customer service skills of the 3 employees I encountered. One was cutting a board incorrectly and the customer he was "helping" told him to stop before he damaged both the saw and wood. One was working the register to check me out and couldn't tell the difference between sheet rock and ceiling tile or the department to which they belonged. After showing her a picture of the item sticker I had on my phone she still couldn't do it...then she asked me to go back and try to find more info. I told her I already had presented her with all the info I could, told her I didn't work there and to please find someone to help. She finally found someone, completely ignored me and the customer behind me while the other employee (who happened to be the board cutting guy) went to look. Meanwhile, some other employee kept walking by carrying his apron and looking at all of us without smiling or asking if he could help. I understand he may have been leaving but he couldn't even smile? Then, board hacker came back with a number for a ceiling tile but the wrong one...in my favor. I told the check out person it was incorrect and should be more to which she shrugged and asked for my money anyway. HD needs to seriously train their employees on customer service skills and educate them about shortage. Never coming here again. read more

While not entirely happy with every product I have brought home from Home Depot Natick, my experience with their customer service was mixed until we figured out how to have a more positive experience. Home Depot Natick, like a lot of Home Depots just like it all over the nation, has two kinds of employees: your classic, helpful, dependable, knowledgeable classic old-timers, who for whatever reason have found their way to HD to supplement their retirement or just survive, and a much younger, typically less reliable, less helpful or knowledgeable contingent. In short, every snafu caused by one of these latter contingent of HD employees that has bolluxed up my household, these former professionals have usually been able to resolve with aplomb. More frustrating for them, I am sure, is that nearly all of my snafus, and I will go out on a limb to suggest others may have my plight also, could have usually been avoided had communication between departments been better, outages reported, etc. I recently had a major headache with Home Depot Natick involving a defective hot water heater I bought, and later returned to them -- though, throughout this whole event, I kept receiving calls and emails from their delivery department to please come pick up my HWH that they had already delivered to me with a paper trail. A kindly professional from the former of the two possible HD employees deftly handled our dilemma, and even gave us a discount on our purchase for other gear for our house that day -- and it is this that would make me go back there. Based on other Home Depot stores Ive been to, this one is actually pretty good. Its clean, better organized and the employees were extremely helpful. read more
