This is my most frequented HD since it's the closest to my house. The parking lot can be a bit crowded and challenging at times, especially on the weekends. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. Sometimes it takes a bit to track someone down. They have everything you want and more. If they don't have it in stock, it can be shipped to your house or the store for no fee within a reasonable amount of time. Usually, everything is in stock when I need it. I've also used to shop online and free curbside pickup. It's hit or miss; either they bring it out quickly or they don't, and you have to call the store. Being a HD cc holder has its perks too. I am always getting discount coupons mailed to me or 0% financing offers. They come in handy when it's a large project. read more

DONT BUY PAINT HERE. THEY CHARGE $2.00 per can you buy for a "recycling fee". However you can't bring back the empty paint cans. So we are paying $2.00 for every can not to be recycled. Check your receipts. Even the managers say they can't take off the $2.00 charge. SCAM read more

The service I received in this store was absolutely appalling!! The cashier Beth was horribly rude to both myself and my elderly grandparents. Her condescending tone of voice and lack of knowledge on products was very off-putting. After yelling at my grandfather for "picking a piece of wood without a barcode on it", he then showed her the barcode which was in fact right in front of her, on the piece of wood, she did not apologize but instead blamed him for now showing her in the first place. Her card terminal then failed to process my payment and she suggested that I was trying to steal the products I was purchasing, when it was actually, it was a failure on her end. My husband went in yesterday, he is repairing some switches in our home before we move to our new home. He asked for assistance to get some wire. $12 worth of wire. Bianca got it for him and then said "you aren't going to steal this are you?" In front of other customers too. He said no I don't steal. she said "well people steal here". How horrible to have these kind of people judging my intelligent, hard working husband. Are you serious? He told her to go take it to the front and he will pay for it. She walked him to check out and the lady at checkout scanned his military ID and thanked him for his service (22 years). Time for some customer service training. I just had the best customer service I have had in a LONG time. Anthony, who is the service manager in Oceanside off of Vista, went out of his way to get an animatronic Troll I bought for Halloween to work. He replaced the parts without any hassle. HD in O-Side around 2020 was so bad I stopped going to any stores. They have cleaned the place up and have hired friendly and capable staff. read more

I will never make a large purchase from HD again ! March I ordered a custom French door , it arrived damaged 2 months later and had to be returned. I went down to the store and was told I would need an entire new door but it would be expedited. A few weeks passed and no one contacts me for an update . I sent an email to the lady who works on doors and was told that my door would be June 9th . June 21st and no one has contacted me . I sent another email asking to cancel the order , again I have gotten no response. I called the store and spoke to the online sales manager . He told me he would look into the door and would send an email , to this day , no email has been received. I called the store and asked to speak to a manager . I was told that all managers were in a meeting, and one would call me back , I was also given a new date for mid July . No manager has called me , I have also emailed the corporate "customer care" and have gotten NO response. Moving forward, I will make all large purchases with non box stores . This was the first, and chances are, the last time that I was in this Home Depot on Vista Way in Oceanside. I was visiting a friend who lives in Carlsbad and this is "his" Home Depot. I suspect that it is the one closest to his home. It anchors a large strip mall, but the strip mall is bisected by the entrance road. The vast majority of the parking is in front of Home Depot. The rest of the strip mall parking on the other side of the entrance is squeezed into a tiny little lot. We needed a screen door. We walked in and did not immediately see where the screen doors might be so we asked an employee. I know! Shocking! There was an employee in a Home Depot available for questions. He directed us to the screen doors. We found one, bought one and exited the store. read more

Came in to just get a paint sample and stood at the counter for an hour and still left empty handed. There had been a water line leak due to a pallet and the staff were clearly in over their head to also run the paint counter. I kept being told I would be helped shortly but every person who came in behind me was being helped. The counter should have been fully closed for all customers if you were only going to pick and choose who gets paint. read more

He listened to me as I explained my problems, and then he came up with a great solution. Gosh- had a nightmare experience purchasing 2 toilets- one arrived w basketball size whole in it! Luckily I was paying a handy man who who able to trade it on for an unbroken one at the store. ( He opened box just to be sure that one wasn't broken too). Took over a month to get an oven ordered only available online. Nobody could tell me the problem until after several attempts a friend got someone to do a 3 way call and the issue was my old address was linked to my cc . I was moving. Have them updated info for a Home Depot card and that wasn't working. In the end I told them they could keep their card. I lost interest. Did get range that included installation but they said they couldn't install when there. I paid an electrician. It was frustrating from start to finish in so many ways that didn't make sense to me. Basically all big business and nobody holding accountability. The guy Mark on the phone was incredible as he didn't give up and eventually did get my range ordered after hours and trips to the store to talk w managers in person. He should be promoted! Electrical department is hidden and an employee confirmed - THERE IS NO SIGN AS TO WHERE IT IS! 1. I had trouble finding the WELL HIDDEN electrical dept. 2. I had trouble finding what I needed. 3. There was no help around - as usual. 4. I COULD NOT FIND ELECTRICAL TAPE! 5. When checking out, the cashier left his station to go find something for the customer in front of me... 6. So I went to self service, had a hard time, and the "help" saw me struggling but kept talking to his buddy. I only go to Home Depot for emergency parts. This was one of those times. I had a hard time finding the parts I needed (and finally did) and then I couldn't find electrical tape! A few years ago I learned the easiest way to shop at Home Depot is to go find the stuff you need, then while in the store, order it from Amazon. Daniel (Dan) was very helpful with a bathroom vanity he went above and beyond with his skills to help me get everything I needed. Tuesday night I visited Home Depot and person that was there did not help he told me to wait. I waited about 20 minutes or more and no one ever came until I asked again, and he still told me oh someone will be right with you, but he didn't take the initiative of helping me. Walked in tonight at 830pm, 10/21/22 I asked two people in the front where can I find the counter top polish and or cleaners. They got off their phones and looked at each other and said prob isle 10, or 9 one of those we think. When all they had to do was type it in on their phones which is what I did after i was sent to the wrong isle and found it was isle 5. If corporate is reading this, stop hiring incompetent lazy People. Have a better screening program when hiring. Or educate these guys more. read more

Home Depot has gone to sh!+. I'm done shopping there. Everytime I go there things are mismarked, upc codes are wrong, online orders lost, rude he/she/or wtf it is front Mgr. I'm now team Lowes all in. Done shopping at the dingey dungeon of orange and crap brown. Lowes is more inviting and full of helpful and nice people who actually look happy to work there. Idk what happened but this place has lost all of its customer service abilities. I've been coming here for a project over the last few weeks and noticed that the employees just ignore customers who clearly need help and are too busy socializing with one and other to do their jobs. We are so pleased with the service we have received at Home Depot including recommendations for painting and electrical work. April in the carpeting department was extremely helpful to us newbies to decorating, she helped us above and beyond with carpet selection.
