Last week I went to Home Depot to get various items for my home improvement tasks. I needed several heavy bags from the garden area so I used a flat bed cart. I systemically worked from one side Home Depot to the garden side as I gathered my needed products. My last stop before the garden area was on a row that was packed with people, so I parked my cart and went down the aisle to get my item. On my way back, I saw a Home Depot employee commandeer my cart for another customer and put their large box on it. I told her, as the other customers were on their way, I needed that cart. She didn't apologize but did go out to get me another cart, but I left my products that were on the cart right where they were placed (I did need the cart though for garden items). This employee waisted my time and lost Home Depot a customer. read more

Regarding their home improvement services, such as carpet and counters, I would stay far away from a big box store such as this. At this location, I had a very horrendous experience because too many people were dealing with the details of my order. They quoted one price, had me pay, measured my home, cut the material, then misquoted a higher price and insisted I pay for product that was 30% higher than I had been quoted. Turns out they had screwed up the invoice on their end because they have a bunch of part-timers running the department. The installers work for a subcontractor and drive from another county, and I got stuck with some sullen ex-biker-looking dude who was very unhelpful. The service gets 1 star, the finished product gets 3.5, due to sloppy measures. I imagine these same sorts of problems could happen at Lowe's just as easily. My next home improvement services were from a locally owned shop. The difference was night and day! The sales help was from a well experienced full time salesman who knew his stuff. Their installers worked out of the shop. The finished product is flawless. AND, THE PRICE FROM THE LOCALLY OWNED SHOP WAS LOTS LESS THAN MY INITIAL QUOTE FROM HOME DEPOT. Their installation services were more inclusive, as well. From thousands of dollars to just a few: I threw a couple of relatively cheap dustpans in my cart one day and got them home and found them unusable. Name brand Quickie. These things are so warped they leave 70% of the dust on the floor. A 99 Cent Store dustpan would most likely work better. Can't a store like Home Depot demand their suppliers deliver useable products? Especially if they are charging three times what the product would go for at the Dollar Tree? read more

I was in a hurry so I ordered 20 bags of cement and 20 2x6's online late at night and I got a text message in the morning saying they were ready for pickup. I showed up and they didn't even know about my order. I had ordered ahead because I was in a hurry. Instead, I ended up pulling and loading all of it myself without anyone offering to help. Several employees were content to watch. Had to climb up to the third shelf to get the 2x6's. Thanks for nothing, Home Depot. Too bad Yelp forces me to give you at least one star. read more

Since buying a house- this seems to be the store we now visit most often... the worker- people are occasionally helpful (except for the ones that work at the paint counter) and the store is relatively organized but its nothing they deserve a gold star for .. the more times i go here the more I appreciate other home improvement stores. but when its home depot or Lowes- i go home depot every time..don't even get me started on the yuppiness that is Lowes... Just a heads up- avoid the self check out at all costs.. it hardly ever works and usually ends up taking LONGER than the regular check out.. Good luck! read more

I can see why this store has a 1 star. We live close by and use this store only if we have to. We placed an order in pro services, 5 days later still did not have it. Their phone system is as good as their customer service, a zero. They must count on that if they don't answer people will go to the store. Do yourself a favor and use Lowe's. My roommate and I went here to purchase a new toilet last week and the service was horrible! We walked in and the store was a mess, and very disorganized. Not one sales associate asked us if we needed help. When we finally found where the toilets were located, we were looking around at the different types and were a tad confused. An employee finally came down the aisle and went up to the older couple who had bee. Waiting longer than us and didn't even talk about toilets. He asked them about an air conditioning service they provide, got their info and left. It seems as If this company is more I to selling their services than helping customers in the store. Purchased a Samsung appliance online they said nothing about their weird return policy. We ordered it a week before the kitchen was ready. Upon install we realized it wont work. I called immediately and they are pushing a 48 hour return policy stating that we had to refuse delivery if it didnt work.i How can we do that if it was dropped off and there was no kitchen! If I knew about their stupid policy I would have bought from LOWES! DONT SHOP AT HOME DEPOT they are FRAUDS. I have already contacted the BBB and I am disputing the charge with my credit card company. 6/17/2019 I ordered windows from Home Depot on April 19, 2019. I was very specific in what I wanted. I wanted windows to match existing windows, with a trim around the outside. The salesman said someone would be out in a couple of days (and he was) to re-measure, and then within a week after that they would call me with an install date. He said it usually takes 4-6 weeks from measure date to installation date. He said his company, usually 4 weeks. I didn't get a call with an install date for two weeks (the call I was supposed to receive that week) , so I called the salesman back, and asked about the install date. He told me they were waiting to hear back from the "historical society" Apparently any house built before 1963, needed approval from the historical society for any type of home improvement. I told him that my house was built in 1968. He kind of mumbled a bit, said that sometimes they needed it approved for houses "built around that time". I asked if the windows were at least ordered, and he was going to check and get back to me. He called about 15 minutes later, said he pulled my order, and it wasn't the Historical society they were waiting for after all, it was my HOA.. I informed him that I don't have a HOA.... And he went back to his historical society story. Still couldn't tell me if my windows had actually been ordered. I called the next week to check, and he still couldn't tell me if the windows had been ordered. I told him that I wanted to cancel because I felt like I was getting the run around. Richard Orr, I think from the main office, then called me. He assured me that the windows were ordered, and were actually waiting in the store. He gave me the same story about waiting on the historical society. I mentioned to him that I was just wanting to cancel, I made it known that I would still pay for my windows since they had already been ordered, but did not want to move forward with instalation, and he got on to me a bit, saying that they have been doing a lot of running around on my behalf, and it wasn't their fault, it was the cities. I actually felt a bit bullied. I told him that I had painters coming and I needed the windows to be in. He called back a week later, saying they had an install date of June 10. I told him that didn't work for me, because that is when the painters were coming, that I just wanted to cancel the whole thing, and get my deposit back. He asked if he could get the installers there before Monday, would I go ahead with the order. I said fine (I didn't feel like I had another choice). He called back an hour later, said the installers would be here on June 8. I made sure to tell him that if the job was not completed by the time the painters were coming (June 10th), the whole deal was off. He said okay. The installers got here June 8. They came in, and I told them which windows in the living room to replace, and which in the bedroom. I told them with the bedroom, it was the window closest to the front gate/door. I was in my backyard, and my son came out back and asked if I was having both windows in the bedroom replaced. I told him no, just the one. He said "well, then they just took out the wrong window" I went out front, and sure enough, they had taken out the wrong window. I explained to them it was the other window that was supposed to be replaced. They put the original window back in. They came up to me after that and said that the store had ordered the wrong window for the bedroom, that it wasn't going to fit. I told them to just leave it, and check and measure the living room windows again, because once those were out, they couldn't be put back in. I went back to the backyard, and then I heard a big crash. I went running out front, and the kid installing the window says, "I didn't do it" The original bedroom window that they were supposed to replace, was broken. I told them that they just needed to be done! Clean up the mess and be done. The installer calls his boss, and all of a sudden, his boss told him that the window they brought to replace the bedroom window WAS the right one, and to go ahead and replace it. They did that, and they replaced the smaller window in the living room. When they put in the bigger window in the living room, it was the wrong style window. The size was correct but I specifically ordered a window that opens, and this window did not. read more

Fantastic customer service experience working w custom window coverings. At first i had doubts going w a large chain like home depot for this kind of work, but now that the order is almost fulfilled even after some problems with fitting, i have nothing but glowing praise for both Serena and Christina that helped us. Long story made short, it's important to seriously consider the custom fitting and installation service that is only about $120; With this service the fit is guaranteed. If one is trying to fit the window coverings themselves, then beware the fittings you give come back exactly per the window measurements you've provided, so if one has an outside mount, then also allow some inches for the outside mount. AND if you'd like the shade to cover the sides of your window to lessen any light bleeding through on the sides, then add an inch or two for that. Also the pull mechanism is important so some serious thought should consider the ease and maintainability of that choice as well. Overall i know our final product will be awesome but it took allot of work. The grass-like shades by Levelor we selected are natural looking and very beautiful. But what really shone in this experience was excellent customer service along with standing behind a product, that Serena and Christina exemplified. Had a problem with a defective lock box that holds keys. kinda like a real estate lock box. It was defective it wouldn't open. So I had to buy a bolt cutter as well and return them both and they made it easy. I thought I was gonna have a problem. Funny story the problem I did have was when I was at our rental property which is in Oxnard on an island. Don't be fooled. They'll come out and give you a lovely experience with the estimate possibly with a sales person wearing a "Veteran" badge, but you won't get the service you expect. We sat through an hours-long sales pitch and having decided to go through with it, we were asked to pay in full before starting the project. We are experienced in these things and we know better than to pay more than about 10% to start a job so that you have recourse when they fail to deliver what they promised. But we've had positive experience with shopping at Home Depot so we decided to trust them. What a mistake! When asked to provide an itemized statement showing what exactly we were charged for our kitchen remodel they refused! When we deleted items they issued something they called a refund however since they never itemized the costs for us we have no idea if they were being honest about the refund. They also had a so so-called project manager. What a joke! Her job seem to be just make excuses for things that were done incorrectly or not done at all. I would highly recommend that you consider anybody else for your kitchen refacing / remodel and avoid the aggravation of Home Depot. read more

Came to get door locks and extra keys made. Right off the bat a worker named MARTIN assisted me in choosing a new lock set. I then went to pick out keys. Martin saw me again and said he will do it. He just had someone to help first. No worries for me. Had to get a Laker key, a 49ers key, a key with a light and two extra keys. I hear his name getting called on the loud speaker for assistance. Hmmm. He's working his butt off and I see a guy and girl worker just talking at a register, another just walking around slowly and another that was talking with friends. Wtf right?? Anyway, Martin made my keys and apologized for taking a while and I told him I understood. He made good conversation and thanked me. I recently did not have a good experience when I purchased an order online, not through this location. I have to say that every time I come to the Home Depot in Oxnard, the employees are always nearby, at other locations, I literally have to walk around trying to spot an employee to assist me. I want to say that Javi and Giovanni were excellent! They were very professional, knowledgeable and went above and beyond! I saw the floors that I had originally placed online, that got lost in transit, every time I called, not once was I told it was lost in transit. Anyways, these two gentlemen went and checked to see if they had more of the same floors and luckily they had more than what they showed. These gentlemen went and helped load, they let me know that I would not be able to take everything at once and let me know how much I would be able to take. I greatly appreciated their help! The company I work for has purchased dozens of appliances from Home Depot. We also purchase the 5 year protection plan. Occasionally, a repair is needed and we have to file a claim and work is done on a unit. Up until about a month ago, it was always a smooth operation. Now it is a nightmare. Home Depot makes promises they do not keep, they do not follow up in a timely manner if at all. I will recommend making our purchases elsewhere in the future. read more
