Personally my preference is to use a company ready to assist rather than make my job harder than it need be. If I can't find it on their shelves nor get proper assistance placing my order, why do I need them ???? Due to poor stock shipping was always charged by California Electric and often it was the wrong item once received. Then the annoyance of dealing with them was very frustrating. Possibly they will stock more residential in the future. Certainly they need to hire a person to respond to pricing requests with a better attitude as Sarcasm never secures more business. All have since gone to vendors outside the area. All expressed the desire to purchase locally in Ventura but too often received the wrong item and when the correct item was sent the price was much higher. Also often they were double or triple billed (seems billing is not a priority because it takes months for resolution which can only be handled at the local branch). It seems that California Electric consistently start off very pleasant but when unable to resolve issues efficiently or in a timely manner begin to be more and more combative as if they do not need the very patrons that would seemingly keep this business thriving. Local business owners complain about losing business to online companies or out of area vendors but here we are asking this business to please offer fair honest service with a non combative attitude so we can purchase locally. When you're done with the wood, someone is usually watching you and they know when you're done usually. Or you can just let them know you're done and you want your form with the wood you got counted. Then you drive back out and park your car to pay inside. Then when you leave that parking lot, you give the guy in the shack your form and the receipt. Then he recounts your wood again. Then the little arm lifts up and you're out. You can rent a lot of tools inside but it's a bit expensive if you rent it for a long time. Might as well buy the tool and resell it on marketplace at that point. There's some drop in showers you can buy here. Also some sink options. There's a bathroom inside if you need to go.

Drive in back and tell Guys what you're looking for. You park right next to shelves of wood. Everyone was very helpful. I was given directions by clerk inside store. Then Employee walking into work, explained to me on his way in, that I needed to get in car, drive over to first driveway and then drive in back. 3 different Guys in back helped me. One even walked in front of my car to direct me from 2x2 wood in front to redwood 2x2. He was also one that directed me to other lumbar yard that does milling. You can't get that kind of attention and help at Big Box Stores! I need the board I'm replacing mitered on one end. They don't do that but directed me to, Builder's First Source. on Thompson l. They sell wood and do milling, so can cut it for me. But they're only open Monday to Sunday.

I saw they had some bottles of my favorite Chai concentrate that I get on Amazon or have seen in little specialty stores on Main Street that were on clearance for $5. I knocked off a star due to the bottles being rung up at full price instead of the clearance price. It was only after I left the store and put my items in my car that I double checked the receipt and caught the mistake. Then I had to go back and stand in a long line to get a refund.
