You have to be careful when buying wood here since every piece varies in quality. They do cut it to size for you, which is helpful. I also appreciate the self-checkout because the lines are never long. What makes this Home Depot different from every other one? We were on a road trip to Pompano Beach and saw Home Depot and their garden center, so we stopped in. Our balcony could use a few flowers and maybe a mini palm tree. The sun is harsh on our balcony during the day and burns up the leaves. We looked around at their selection, which was good but not exactly what we were looking for. The young lady in the paint department, Shakira, was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable for somebody so young and you just started working there recently. This is a pretty good Home Depot. It's well stocked and all the associates we came in contact with -- there were a lot in the aisles -- were very helpful. Each time we had a problem locating an item and asked where it was, we got the correct answer. One time we were even escorted directly to the location. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but we've been to other stores where we've walked all over aimlessly when being sent to the wrong aisles. Each aisle is numbered and that helps as well. The store has instituted some actions in light of covid19. They limit the number of people entering the store. They actually had a counter as you enter. There is only one entrance. You can only exit from the garden department not enter. They have the floor marked for physical distancing as you check out as well. Almost everyone was masked and gloved too. We were able to get everything on our list that we'd come for -- surprisingly. And checkout was pretty seamless as well. read more

I've been doing some small DIY plumbing projects on my home and had to run the water line to my refrigerator, unfortunately when the build was built the plumbers reversed the set up for my water line under my sink, I decided to finally tackle this project and figured I can handle this on my own, after two days of back and forth to the store to get the right size and fitting I met Andrea! With a smile on her face she offered her assistance in finding what I was looking for, Andrea suggested a fix but it wasn't quite right since it switched, I explained my predicament to her and without any hesitation she showed me what I would need and how to make the connections. She was so patient with me and helpful. I was skeptical but she assured me It would work. Came home and the connections were exactly what i needed. Andrea is star at that location and her patience was very strong, I'm surprised she's not a manager, with amazing customer service like that I'll be back again and again. Upon returning home, was contacted and advised that the purchase was another $10k. When I returned to cancel and refund the transaction they were not able to refund do to computer issues. Further told that the transaction would not be refunded until they received the order but they would call me the next day for the refund. No one called! One week and several hours later, Home Depot is still not able to refund my $35k purchase. IT department has the department manager on hold. Incompetent and unacceptable! The only negative thing about this location is the parking lot is very very small. You have to park far away in the lot due to its shape. Home Depot is an excellent, well stocked hardware store. You can find most anything you need to repair things around your home. They also carry very high quality tools and various hardware items. The different Home Depots in the area vary considerably as to how helpful the staff is. The store in Pompano is excellent. The staff is great. They help you find whatever it is you're looking for, with a smile. Home Depot sells everything from hammers and nails to washing machines. I was in search of a metal trash can. Home Depot is the only hardware store in town that I could find that carries metal trash cans. I was directed right to them and bought one in just a few minutes at a very cheap price. I was very impressed with Home Depot's customer service this time and almost every time I've been to the store in Pompano. read more

In December 20223, I bought a lawnmower at The Home Depot located on West Copans Road in Pompano Beach. That machine broke down last September. Because I needed to cut my yard right away, I bought the same exact machine, again at the same local Home Depot store. Since I bought the mower on my Home Depot credit card, the return deadline on the receipt says that I have a year or until December 2024 to return it. One day last week, I called 1-800 number for the Home Depot and explained the situation; I was told to take it back to the same store so that I could get a refund. The same day, I brought the lawnmower to that store. A woman who's supposedly a manager at the return desk said that because I had bought the machine on my Home Depot card, I had until a year thereafter to return. But, when she tried to process it, their computer denied the return. I then called the police in order to request a police report so that I can document their action in refusing to honor their own policy. In my view, that is a flagrant violation of the law. I waiting for that report before I contact the proper governmental agency to make a complaint against the Home Depot. I will keep you posted! read more

I wanted to buy a metal trash can. I was having a problem finding one. I was on I95 in Pompano when I remembered that there was a Home Depot close by. As soon as I walked into the store a nice salesman welcomed me and asked if he could help me find something. I told him what I needed and he pointed me to the Garden Shop. On my way there another salesman offered to help. I found what I was looking for and brought it to the front of the store. Home Depot matches the prices of other stores if they're cheaper. I brought my trash can to customer service and asked them to check their computer for a better price. The customer service person checked her computer but couldn't find a matching item that was cheaper. It was very nice of her to look for the best price. I paid my bill and was on my way. I'm so impressed with the friendly service I got at the Pompano store. I usually go to the Boca Raton store and it's rare that a salesman offers to help. There's free parking in front. Heading north they're less then a block from the exit on I 95. read more

They kept insisting that their "system" said I was refunded a certain amount. I showed my account balance and they refused to resolve. This has been 8 weeks of headaches with no resolution. Walking into the store and finding what you need is easy enough. But buying and item and expecting it to be ready when they say it will be, is another story. Home Depot has without fail disappointed me two times in a row. The first time I gave them a week to assemble a grill which they still could not get done. I tried to return some LED light bulbs purchased 2 years ago (5 year warranty) and the clerk told me I could only do it in 90 days from purchase, even though I had previously done them after 90 days. She said I had to contact the company directly. I went home to search for the company information, and I found a document on Home Depot's own site that says you can return them to the store within 5 years. Went back to the store, talked to a different returns clerk who wouldn't take them since I only had 7 bad bulbs in the 8-box package. I showed her the document and it does not require a full box return. Argued some more and she eventually relented. You've lost a customer over a $10 box of lights. Go to Lowe's instead. I ordered a dryer, the delivery men came, gave me paperwork, stated they could not install it (I paid for install), and went to get the dryer from the truck only to find out it was not in the truck. This one older lady was yelling at me because i was going to self checkout and she wamted me to go to her register but i dont like going to the registers with the employee because they take too long scanning amd sometimes double scan items by mistake, they dont check what they scan after they scan it they just click checkout and continue... so after i told her no thanks ill do it alone at self checkout she continued to yell at me saying to go to her register. First things first I have been a happy HD customer sence I was a kid. My dad actually helped built them across the USA. I grew up going to HD job sites and attended many opening events nation wide. It pains me to say this store has terrible service. I ordered a ridged blower for pick up that has 5 in stock. They called me saying they lost the 5 rigid blowers (a few hundo in value) and can't do anything for me and I'll see my money on 5-7 business days....... They were absolutely rude and couldn't even bother to ask a manager ship it from the adjacent store or give me the option to ship to my house. Really??????
