Do NOT get a kitchen from this Home Depot. What started out with a referral from a designer turned into a nightmare. Months of back and forth over $30,000 in cabinets and install. The waiting on hold time is ridiculous . I can't believe they are even in the kitchen business . This is the heart of the home and shame on them! I am beyond frustrated with there service .From start to finish it has been extremely difficult. Home Depot sells a decent product but they do not know how to design, implement and understand high or mid level cabinets. Unfortunately the staff is not educated in understanding all the elements of the design and take responsible for there mistakes. I tried and tried to communicate the errors and in the end they did NOT strive for customer service and I am out thousands of dollars!! I have tried calling the managers and zero call back. I've finally reached the end of my rope with this store. Last week exchanging a propane bottle required a 10 minute wait to find a clerk to open the pen where the bottles are stored. Today it was nearly impossible to push a cart thru the store due to all the merchandise stacked in the middle of the isles. Good luck if you need help. Apparently they require 2 employees when merchandise is at a height. The one actually doing the work and a orange flag waiver. One cashier with a line and of the 4 self check out, only 1 accepted cash. Another line. Here's a tip for management: stock the shelves after closing rather than jam up the isles, subjecting customers to a dangerous condition which you created. Litigation anyone?? Second, as odd as it sounds, people do pay cash. How about more "cash registers". Do yourself a favor go to the Bellport store (or Lowes) Its cleaner, employees are available and helpful. read more

"The Home Depot, you can do it, we can help" except apparently at this location. If you go here and ask for help you will be greeted with a snarky attitude. You will be treated like you are wasting their time. Places like the Home Depot service not just contractors, but home owners hoping that they can do home improvement on their own. Sometimes they have questions. If a company employees people that treat their customers like dirt then they shouldn't be in business anymore. We had a Home Depot credit card and will be canceling it and doing business with lowes from now on. This place needs to get sued for false advertising... all those things you see in the commercials about Home Depot's great customer service, etc definitely do not apply for this place. You're lucky if you can find an employee who actually knows what the store is called. As a builder, my dad has had to deal with this place countless times, but I know for a fact that he'll only deal with one guy... my dad knows building supplies (he used to manage the lumber yard in EH), apparently this guy does too, but everyone else in the store is pretty useless. I wouldn't be so down on it, but every year I would be stuck in good ole HD for literally HOURS while my dad straightened out messed up orders and billing errors. I have only had positive experiences from the Riverhead home depot. Today I went in to buy a rug shampoo machine. Alicia was exceptional. She was thoroughly knowledgeable about this type of appliance and showed me how to operate it and even put it together for me. That was such a relief since I just had surgery on my hand. I would also like to mention Collin and Scott in flooring. (I think Scott is his name. I will double check and revise this if I got his name wrong. They were both so knowledgeable about wood and laminate flooring and so helpful. I just wish they had more samples but that wasn't their fault. Once again I am remodeling a home. I am glad the Riverhead Home Depot is my local store because they are hands down the best Home Depot I have encountered. It's the employees here that make the difference. They care about their work and customers. read more

I am in the middle of a bathroom renovation that has required multiple orders from Home Depot. There has been friction every step of the way. The Riverhead store does not answer the phone. They tell my contractor that the order isn't there, he leaves, then they check out the order as being picked up, when it was not. This happened multiple times. I have spent hours tracking inventory, and driving back and forth to the store because no one picks up the phone. Finally, I had to eat almost 2000 dollars worth of tile because we had to change tile mid-stream because Home Depot suddenly stopped carrying the tile we were using. After that, I placed my new tile order with Lowe's, and I am permanently done with Home Depot. I understand about the pandemic, but the lack of communication from the store, coupled with their errors on almost every pickup-- it's too much. I will be returning every item I am able, and re-ordering through Lowe's. Who has time for this? read more

Unfortunately they have a lot of protection with a name Home Depot and shady policys that keep them leaning over the line with out crossing it as far as a court of law may be concerned. But be very careful with them. Luckily they did not succeed in ripping me off but they came close and if I did not know better about building and materials I would have been a victim Shame on them. If you are a contractor BOYCOT them because now they are a competitor. If your just doing work around your house BOYCOT them for ripping off innocent people.They may try to sell you a roof if you don't need one. They may try to do the bait and switch tactic and get you in on one price and charge the hell out of you for any prep work. They will try to get you to pay for prep work to be done when in fact you don't need the work done. They skip out on taking any responsibility for these fraudulent actions by saying that they use subcontactors. But really they are hired through Home Depot are paid by Home Depot, and recieve training by Home Depot so really their subcontractors are just their so the company doesn't have to take responsibility. My advice to anyone is forget about using the kitchen designers to plan your cabinets in kitchens. Good chance they will get the dimensions wrong and/or screw up your order at least once if your lucky. The quality of the materials and merchandise at the Home Depot now sells has slowly but consistently gotten worse. Good luck finding someone who's actually knowledgeable about anything in the department there working. There are a few, but just a few. Don't rely on the website or rely on calling the store prior to going there to check if an item is in stock. The inventory is constantly screwed up. Good chance if you ask an employee to physically go and check to see if the items on the shelf they will lie to you and say it is, when really all they do is look on the computer. The only time you will get any kind of satisfactory customer service is when the district managers are in town. There is at least one condescending arrogant know it all in each department whose knowledge is mediocre at best. Also if you buy something on special order and go there to pick it up they say to call two hours prior to arriving so they could get the order together. Never once have they had the order ready when I had got there. Most times the order was combined with somebody else's order or missing items in my order. read more

I am used to the home depot in Manhattan which is probably half the size of this one. So much stuff you can build an entire home from just this store. Found the screws the right bits to go along with them side by side. It's so smart makes every thing easy. Got a bunch of tools I'll probably never use but happy to have them read more

This review only applies to the plant return experience. I returned a plant that died within a short time. The policy on plants, which ironically helped me consider this purchase as the material was questionable, is clearly stated. Just bring your receipt. The return associate refused the return saying I need the original container. Of course the plant was replanted in an attractive pot and the shipping container had been discarded. I did have the remains of the deader than dead plant although that is not required either. At this point I informed the associate that I would search for the return policy on my device. Not waiting, the credit was processed without another word, as in angry. Not a pleasant experience. read more

Whoa want to waste time and great treated like an idiot try ordering a delivery. Ordered got confirmation of order and then confirmation that it was out for delivery on the day scheduled with an estimated time of 10-12am. Waited until 2pm and then called to check on status of delivery, spent 45 min on the phone then told it was out for delivery. Then about 5:45pm called and asked about delivery was very rudely told my order was sitting in riverhead and WOULD GO OUT THAT DAY THAT THE ORDER WINDOW WAS 6am-8pm and someone had to be there! waited until 8pm. AND NEVER GOT A CALL FROM THEM I HAD TO CALL. THER were a No show. Now day 2 and put on hold for 15min just trying to get ahold of someone at the store have not even gotten a human yet. WOW!!!! They are about to lose a large pro-commercial customer. Save yourself and don't use any Home Depot, plenty of other options now. When my contractor suggested I get countertops at Home Depot, I was skeptical but went to check it out. The salesman was kind and helpful and quickly showed me samples of the Carrera marble I was seeking. I paid in full up front as was required The fabricator cAme out to measure and made me feel like this well priced option was a good idea after all. But then installation day cAme and it couldn't have been more of a disaster. I was sick with the flu and asked my contractor to be there for the install. He agreed to send pictures as soon as the counters were in. When I got his text I immediately burst into tears. What we're supposed to be gorgeous custom Carrera marble countertops were some weird material that was definitely not Carrera Marble. Further, on the sink portion, which is basically a five foot span, instead of using a continuous piece of stone, they used scraps and glued them together--the glued pieces didn't even match. I called Home Depot immediately and was told I'd signed a contract approving seams if necessary and basically, too bad. So I wrote the ceo and received a call from someone at corporate the next day. She was uninformed, had not called the store to get details and basically knew nothing about anything. She told me the district manager would have to make the call about what to do next. I'd already told my contractor to rip them out and called a proper stone fabricator to come and replace. When I told the new company my story she laughed--turns out I am not the only customer who has come to her after a botched job by Home Depot. Meanwhile the fabricator called routinely checking to see if I was happy. When I told her I couldn't be more unhappy she promised to speak to the owners and get situation rectified. A day went by and no return call. She did however tell me they had not installed Carrera marble as they don't offer that and what I'd gotten was quartz that had Carrera in its name. Ugh. If you are looking for custom counter tops DO NOT purchase from Home Depot. They demand payment up front and do not stand behind their product or service when the job is botched. They sold me something different than what I asked for then told me it was my fault because, I guess, at Home Depot everything is the customers fault. The salesman clearly misled me, but all Home Depot cares about is that I signed a contract full of tiny print that basically allows them to do a crap job and still be in the legal right. Having to eat the approx 2000 it cost me for countertops that I ripped out less than 24 hours seems to be fine with Home Depot. All this to save what turns out to be less than 500 difference between what the proper stone fabricator would charge to do a custom job Hopefully you'll read this review before you make the same expensive mistake. read more

Generally speaking, I loathe Hope Depot, whenever there is a Lowes within a 5 miles radius, I'll opt for Lowes. Everywhere except the Riverhead location, which has a Lowes roughly across the street. At other locations, I'll be passed from person to person, and that's even if I'm capable of flagging someone down. One time I had someone tell me to wait an hour till the person for that department showed up, another time someone when I returned a defective light fixture the person told me I deserved to be electrocuted since I didn't hire an electrician. I've had a sales person refuse to sell me something I had in my hand since the price was too low, and then the security guard at the door threaten to detain me when the sales slip read "general merchandise". So you can understand why I hate Home Depot, this is a company I never want to visit, that I never want to reward their atrocious behaviour. I've even gone so far to talk to Atlanta about my problems. Except the Riverhead location. What's different about this place? The people. Constantly outstanding customer service, adequate amount of cashiers (instead of forcing self checkout), people willing to listen to your problems and help come up with a soulution. People willing to go out of their way to help you, jut because you're in their store. Talking to the emplyees isn't like talking to an employee for some national home improvement store. You're talking to a person, who generally speaking, knows their shit (and have an uncanny ability to recite exactly where the inventory is at any given time). Pro tip; go early, and you'll feel like you have the place to yourself, and everyone will give you a friendly hello. Ironically enough, the Lowes across the street, feels more like the Home Depots I'm used to. There is a reason one parking lot is full, and the other empty. Ample parking isn't always a good thing. read more

I am a loyal customer of Home Depot and I hate to write this but they have left me with no choice. Home Depot in Riverhead highly recommended a contractor to do some work at my house. His name is Scott Kokona from Long Island Smart Construction. He was hired to fix my front deck. He intentionally broke my stairs leading to the deck and charged me to have them repaired. Upon completion of the deck, the boards have been installed crooked and look horrible. When I complained to Home Depot they gave me a number of an agent from Proreferral Resolutions to call so this can be resolved. I've now called over ten times and we still haven't heard back from him. I'm highly disappointed in the manner Home Depot has handled this situation. If Home Depot refers contractors they should see the quality of their work done and follow through with the complaint. Giving me a number to call and being ignored is not acceptable customer service. Purchased a outside door last July. After waiting about 3 weeks door was delivered and installed. Installer did not line up locks first time. Second time, locks were lined up but had a huge gap from floor on one side. Third time installer came out with supervisor. Supervisor said door was not made properly. He told us door was wider on top and narrower on bottom. He took photos. Sent them to HD in Riverhead. HD told us they would order a new door. New door was supposed to be installed in May 2018. Nobody contacted us. We called and made several visits to HD. Told us door would be installed June. June, installer said door came in but is damaged. He said he sent the door back .New date is 7/20/2018. Unacceptable. Spent hours trying to speak to manager named Samantha. She was supposed to call. Didn't hear from her. Called store and cannot get through. Run as fast as you can from this place. Nobody cares about their customers. read more

lets start FROM THE BEGINNING ASSOCIATE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE ORDERED WRONG ITEM in the Riverhead NY store. The store people quoted us a price for installation and referred the order to one of their contracting companies who called us. A nasty woman without seeing what needed to be done quoted us a figure 21/2 times the amount for the installation . Everything we were told in the store ,in fact it is in print on their website ,was disputed by the installation company whomever they are. To put it mildly we were being held up without a gun. When I called the store to cancel the order within 24 hours they are giving me the run around . No sweat here, the credit card company will dispute the charge for us, but, it cannot be done till the billing cycle closes. Amazing within the time we left the store and prior to confirming the installation the charge appeared on the credit card. Speaking to the store manager was futile ,they keep shifting the blame . Bottom line no one here knows what they are doing but that is no excuse when operating as business. Perhaps the BBB or the Suffolk County Dept of Consumer Affairs should be notified. There is no reason for this aggravation. Bottom Line we will go to a reliable bathshower door installation firm where the service hopefully will be more satisfactory. read more
