Terrible service! I purchased gift cards with my VISA debit card for employees and the HD cashier attempted to not give me the gift cards until I showed her my ID. As an opportunity to protect identity, VISA has a policy that stores which accept VISA cards cannot require ID. That my purchase was debit is even more insane. I also recently asked a HD associate in the paint dept where "Zipwalls" we're located. She told me that HD doesn't have them anymore. I checked the app & found 19 of them in bright red boxes on the next isle over. On the same trip I asked for assistance from a different HD associate to search the overstock items stored on the top shelf. The app showed 2 items in stock and a female employee confirmed this. She called another associate to assist us. He spoke under his breath that he would need to get stairs to check above and literally stood still to see if my wife & I would just leave. He then tried to act like he check his devise for the light and told us they we're out. I called him out by telling him that the previous associate already confirmed the item showed 2 were available. My wife then had to ask him if he was going to check. What a mistake to stand through the process of this guy effortlessly pretending to look for the light. I found the light for less on Amazon, ordered 3 and returned the 1 light was purchased from HD. read more

Today I had a horrible experience with the store manager Laura Ryan, she was very aggressive and rude when I was attempting to do a return. She has no customer service skills, she slammed the money on the counter. I will never return to this store and I will tell my family & friends about my experience. read more

Don't bother with online ordering for in-store pickup. Their inventory figures are a lie and the time it takes for the order to be ready is a joke. Right now it's taking 48-72 hours - but nowhere does it say this when you are ordering. 6 hours after placing our order yesterday, we went into the store to see if we could just take the item from the floor to Customer Service and they could check it off as picked up. That's when we found out that despite the website saying that the store had 4 of the item, they were actually still on the truck and wouldn't be unloaded until that night. The woman we spoke to (after waiting in a 45-minute Customer Service line) said that she would call us today with the status after she started her shift at 12:30. It's now 5 PM and she hasn't bothered to call. So much for that weekend project!!! Horribly disappointing experience from beginning to end. Home Depot, be upfront about the order pickup times, and fix your inventory so it shows what is actually available to purchase, not what's still loaded on some truck somewhere. read more

They never have panels in stock that can be used for a PV system. Carry parts that don't meet code requirements for CA and refuse to stock ones that do. The staff is nowhere to be found when you need wire cut and they'll short you if you're not paying attention. The parking is an absolute mess, the day laborers will steal from your truck, and people are always parked in the trailer parking, this forcing me to park out where people try to steal my things. The employee working in the paint department was RUDE and gave me the feeling I was bothering him. I went here to buy a BBQ grill. We decided to pick up one of the pre made grills. However, the top portion needed needed to be screwed off so it could fit into my 4Runner. I had a screw driver, but the Phillips head was too small resulting in me slowly striping the screw. Whoever assembled the grill used an impact drill to screw in everything. We asked the lady at the register if they had a screwdriver and she said she "doesn't know who would have one." Anyways, another guy directed me to the tool rental area and Eli and Gilbert went out of their way to assist us. Nobody knows a thing about what they are selling. I asked 3 workers to help me find a few bolts and washers and not ONE could do more than refer me to the correct isle. Cmon people!! I signed up for a workshop to build a Grilling cart. I walked in the store and my workshop lasted all but 5 minutes. No classroom, no instruction, no demonstration, no how to, absolutely nothing. I was handed a piece of paper and told "SHORT BUT SWEET!". What an utter disappointment. read more

Pay attention to your receipt!!!! The first time I went they over charged me, I bought a$10 half gallon of paint and they charged me $17!! Ugh I ate the $7, last night I bought THE SAME $10 half gallon to finish my project and they charged me $57!!!!! Well I went back in and they credited me $40. Today I checked my bank account and they only credited me $2.50!!!! Now I gotta go back on my lunch our and yell at som idiot and hopefully get my $ back. I came Shopping to get a few things and there is one huge line for self checkout, so I go to a regular check out stand to wait in line to pay for a few mins to avoid the "self checkout" and the associate Natalie seen me walk buy obviously walking to regular check out then later tells me the mile long self check out line is for that and regular cashier. For whatever reason at home depot more people are working outside watching customers come into the store rather than assisting customers inside at registers. read more

He got us all the necessary materials and cut or marked everything for us. Gave us a crash course in door framing with a few vital secrets. After waiting around 3 minutes to talk to someone, I finally got to a person and asked for the LUMBER dpt. I was on hold for 10 min (looking at the elapsed cell phone timer). I come here often for supplies and haven't had a single issue with customer service. I know what I want and need. If you don't know what your doing hire someone and you won't hear to return half the stuff you buy. I wouldn't hire Home Depot for any installations. Was very upset with the service. This was Saturday evening around five, 8/9/14. None of the employees were willing to help my boyfriend and I get a tool bin that we needed. We waited over half an hour, and asked several people and every time they told us they would find someone but never did. There was one girl that was at a cash register that seemed willing to help but was unable to.I understand that they need someone with a license to lift things but why did they not have one available? Hello Chris, I am writing here because my wife had written a complaint on home depot website. Probably seems to you that we,are complainers! Sorry this is not true but we are ones that will make statements when things are wrong! As we said in the prior review we spend a lot of money in home depot and the Madison store is close and convenient. But once again we had major issues. For one no one from Home Depot ever contacted us after we commented on the website. Other than to say our comment was reviewed and was being looked at to put on the website :( again like last time we could not get anyone to help with blinds after 3 requests. And we hung around for over 45 min. Waiting for paint. Had ordered 13 gal. Found that the person assisting us went to lunch and we sat. Then asked for help they said we had to take all one gal buckets of paint cuz she could not get it in 5 gal. We have gotten it in 5 gal for years we never use 1 gal unless we need less than 5 gal. We use airless sprayer as a matter it was bought at home depot. We left went to the Corona store and got what we needed. No problem ! Other than losing so much time. This store needs. Lot of help! Had to give it 1 star because it would let us five it Zero. Sorry, hate to leave any complaints like this but it is very, necessary. read more

I can say without a single doubt that this Home Depot location is absolutely the WORST I have ever been in! I stopped buying from them 10 years ago after I ordered (and paid for) 5 pallets of mortar mix but when I came to pick it up I was told that they had mistakenly put it on the shelves and sold it all. I was forced to go back last year since my biggest customer insists that I use a ProCard from them. I can honestly say that in the dozens of times I was forced to make purchases at this location because of its proximity to a job I have NOT ONCE walked out of the store satisfied with my shopping experience! Stock items out of stock. Can't find anyone to fill an empty shelf from stack stored overhead. Special orders placed wrong. Promises to call and update me on an order not happening. Employees who think they know something about their assigned department but are clueless. Homeless bums wandering the parking lot asking for money and (probably) casing trucks to steel something. Taking away the ProCard 5% reward and replacing it with "gas points" to purchase gas at Shell where it's twice as expensive as the gas right across the street. I could go on forever but I won't. I have urged my biggest customer to switch to Lowes and even went so far as to pick up and deliver the application to them. Save yourself the increase in blood pressure that shopping at this location will cause! Update: My special order door finally arrived today. Once they get it unloaded from the truck they discover it is hinged on the wrong side. I'm being told that the sticker on the door says the correct swing so they're trying to put it off on the factory. From all my previous experiences there I'd bet good money it's actually their fault. The problem with this particular Home Depot is that unlike the others that I have visited, they are slow to respond and seem to avoid good customer service at every opportunity. The customer service desk is a joke (since few seem to be able to operate the computers). And if you want to call ahead to make sure an order is ready? Be prepared for a long wait and being placed on hold serval times - if not more. I have yet to call to check on an order that I did not wait at least thirty minutes to get someone live to talk to. The person who finally talked to us went and confirmed with the manager that the person who was suppose help us out that even called in sick. Employee told me manager suggested we call back next day. Finally went to customer service desk and asked. The girl paged someone to come and asked me to go wait for him in the electrical isle. He never came. Home Depot really let me down this time. Unfortunately we had a very bad experience with a carpet install. It is a very long story I will not bore anyone with but basically with one day left till close of escrow on the sale of my house the installers told me they could not install my carpet due to my flooring conditions and left with the carpet. It sounds understandable however, the VERY next installer (different company) that came out informed me that installation was no problem and finished within 1 hour and really saved me in my time of need. Long story short the install was a bit harder than most so the Home Depot installer simply walked away. I was very very sad. Home Depot delivered a damaged Washer, the delivery rushed me into signing the delivery order. good thing I got to the driver before he left in the truck, he came back and picked up the appliance. I called whirlpool and the phone associate offered $25 inconvenience fee, and I asked to cancel the order so they said it takes up to 72 hours to refund my card so I called my home store ( on Madison) and they are the same as everyone else. so insensitive to the inconvenience they caused me and they offered no sympathy or solution to my inconvenience. so Home Depot is on my not to shop at list and I will shop at other places before I shop at home depot.
