Just had a terrific experience at my Home Depot: I was promptly helped by no less than four people and was greeted by three others in my quest to find a bunch of crap I probably don't need and will have to return once I get home and realize I'm not a handyman. The service counter associate Ken was fantastic. I had just left a different store fairly late at night after they told me they had mouse traps and when I got there, they didn't. I called Home Depot and ken answered and said they did. I was minutes away and ken said he could go grab them and bring them to the secure counter for me. I walked in no more then 5 minutes later and I saw a gentleman walking towards a counter with mouse traps in his hand. He said yes they were mine and that they had actually just arrived and he grabbed them off a pallet for me. Amazing customer service. I've shopped at this Home Depot for years and have always had great service but I feel like this associate Ken went above and beyond, especially as what is expected at a big box store, and should be commended as such. read more

I love their return policy. I just give them the card that I purchased the item with and they don't need the receipt. They seem to have everything that I have needed. I even see things that I needed but forgot to get. I can spend hours in this store. read more

I typically find the customer service at Home Depot to be pretty good. They're very helpful and great on return policies. I should probably write some positive reviews on other home depots. I went to this home depot for one of the first times, as they had a truck rental available. I sign up for a 4 hour estimate, Jim quotes me at about $40. Great. I return at just a few minutes over 4 hours (but under the 15 minutes extra of the initial 75 minute rate). So it's the initial rate, plus three hours of time. At this point, I didn't know the exact rate break down. I cash out with Scott and he says: $68. I question him and his quick, simple response: "That's what the system says, sorry". I question the actual rate, and eventually get it down to $58. When asked again about what is going on, he shrugs his shoulders and just blames it on the system, nothing he can do. Not a care in the world, or even a remote apology. Some of the worst customer service I've seen. I actually called him out on his customer service, and again, barely a response, it was pathetic. So in the end, I still pay almost $20 over the initial quote, and get horrible customer service. Just wasn't worth arguing for $20 at that point. I would give the a zero if it was an option. Their delivery service was terrible!!! We recently purchased a refrigerator for a new house which wouldn't be ready until the afternoon. We TOLD Home Depot we couldn't have it until the afternoon to which they wrote in their "notes." Apparently, they DIDN'T listen to a thing we say because they ended up scheduling the delivery for 9-12 and then showed up at 8:00 and were irritated we were not there! What part of the afternoon do they not understand?!?! Apparently when they have your money customer service goes out the window!! NEVER SHOP AT HOME DEPOT!! read more

I had an unfortunate experience yesterday at the sandy Home Depot on 114th s. Let's first start off by saying that I have spent about $25k in the last 6 months at Home Depot so I know how Home Depot should be. That being said I did not go to my usual riverton store but had to go to this one to get something I have never gotten before. I walked around the store for about 15 minutes looking, then another 15 minutes trying to find Anyone to ask. I finally saw a worker walking towards me, he was wearing a bright orange Home Depot polo, wore a half tool belt, clean cut with dark hair and you could tell he worked out. I know this because I am a personal trainer and I compete so I could tell he tries. Anyway I say this because I hope someone pulls him aside and teaches him the proper customer service techniques and how one bad experience can lead to negative reviews. Anyway, I'm already frustrated I cannot find it and then I see him. I can tell he is trying to avoid me hoping I don't have a question but I did. I asked him if he knew where a very popular kind of wire was. He never stopped walking and just said, "um, I'm not sure" and continued to walk away. I then spoke loudly so he could hear me as he was already walking away and said "wow, thanks". I continued to look around and find anyone else to ask but I couldn't. I finally went to the customer service desk to ask and they pointed me in the right direction. The more irritating thing was as I was walking around after this, continuing to try and find the wire, I saw this gentleman 2 other times and he never did ask if he could help me find it and knew I was still looking. All said and done I hate asking for anything here because these are the answers you get. read more

This appears to be a newborn Home Depot. The employees are not very knowledgeable. I've had them copy a key on 2 occasions. And on both occasions, the keys didn't work. I had to go to the Midvale or 2100 S Home Depot to fix the problems of the 114th Home Depot - and they worked perfectly. It appears this Home Depot has sufficient stock of what you need. But if you need assistance beyond locating an item, I recommend visiting a different Home Depot. Oh, and DON'T GO THERE TO GET COPIES OF KEYS!!! read more

You know how you walk in most Home Depot stores and it seems like NO ONE works there? This particular place is different. I'm not saying anyone walks up to me and asks "are you finding everything okay?" Hah. Not even once. But I will say that I only have to walk a couple of aisles and I find an associate. Every time I have visited the store there has always been an employee in hardware, plumbing, and garden. It is well-stocked. I found everything I needed to refresh my kitchen -- faucet, knobs, drawer pulls. I found what my contractor required to fix my garbage disposal. And I have had really good help and advice with seasonal plants. There is a really helpful guy with a New York accent that is awesome in plumbing. It's nice to have an unexpectedly pleasant (and entertaining) exchange on a morning visit. read more

I made a special order for my garage entry door. Its been two months and it finally came according to the call I received from the store but I can't get an answer as to when it's supposed to be installed. I have been bounced around from the one department to another to an expeditor and still no answer. Still waiting Home depot! I went to the sandy home depot at 11400 south and 135 east sandy utah. HORRIBLE service. FOLKS- do not special order your windows or doors there. read more

Everyone at the store has been great! Sales people have walked me to the aisle and handed a product to me. If they don't know where it is they look it up even if it is not their department. I recently moved from New York and compared to the Hone Depot I shopped at I feel like I am on a different planet!!! read more

Customer Service at this Home Depot is great. They answer your questions an actually seem to care. I live closer to another Home Depot but their service doesnt compare to this location. I was with one of my friends who was a combat veteran and their respect and appreciation for him was great. Most of the other Home Depots Ive been to could learn from this location. read more

I'm in the store at least weekly. This store is ok - 3.5 stars Cons: There are never enough employees, mostly have to self-checkout (which I do not like), staff is hit and miss (some great and knowledgeable and some not so much), they need bigger, better and higher end tools - Jet/Powermatic/Delta/Bosch/Festool Pros: The store is clean(ish) and convenient 9 times out of 10 - I know what I need, go in, shop, buy my stuff and leave without talking to anyone and the experience is a solid fine. I'm unable to return an item return a expense item even though I have a receipt, valid ID and it with-in the 90 days that is required in their return policy. I small portion of the purchase was done with a store credit which somehow prevents me from returning anything listed on that receipt. While other customers are able to return items with no receipt at all, I'm unable to return despite following all of their return policy. Doesn't seem right or fair. read more

Went to Home Depot at 11400 South State St. Friday morning to get keys made. Approached the service desk, and the woman who had actually been watching me come toward her just turned and walked away. Found one nice person who showed me where to get a key made. The nice person also went over and asked someone to help me after I had been standing by the key thing for quite awhile. The person who made my keys was nasty. I probably shouldn't have interrrupted her breakfast--she had to put her coke and burrito down and she was pretty darn annoyed about it and it showed. Hopefully after I left and she ate she was in a better mood, so the customers for the rest of the day did not get treated like I did. . Will definately drive long distances to avoid that Home Depot. Not a good experience at all. read more

Oh how I'm torn. I really like Home Depot for the products they carry and how easy it is to find what you're looking for. On the other hand I really like Lowes clean stores, different products and their service. This Home Depot seems to be falling way behind other HD stores, Lowes etc. The service here stinks. They rarely have a normal checkout lane open and you're left to use the self-checkout lanes while the person that is supposedly there to help manage the area just stands there and watches you scan the same small item (because you needed 25 of them) over and over. It's like as long as they say "Thanks for shopping at Home Depot today" that will make up for their poor customer service. This is not an isolated one time experience. I have visited this store 2-3 a week for the past month or so (because there is not a Lowe's nearby and I'm finishing my basement) and have experienced the same lack of service and help time and time again. This store needs a self-adjustment because they are giving The Home Depot a bad name in my eyes. read more
