I always find it truly interesting about how people say negative things about the Home Depot. Why? Because it really doesn't matter which Home Depot you go in to, they're all pretty much exactly the same. Yes, some are a little bit larger than others, but they all carry the same selection of great construction and home design based stuff. Whether you're in there looking for lighting equipment, power tools, gardening items and plants, or wood to build that whatever it is you want to build, you're going to find it here. What is there to complain about? In terms of pricing, they're very competitive with whatever marketplace your looking at. They sell things for a very reasonable price. So, if you're looking for that whatever, you pretty much know you're going be able to find it at the Home Depot, and you know you're gonna be paying a fair price for it. This location is situated right off of Highway One. I find this a great location, because you can just hop right off the highway, walk into the store, get whatever you need, and then jump right back on Highway One. You can't ask for more than that. Overall, from all my experiences here, the staff here have always been super nice. Nothing to complain about there. Thus, if you need what Home Depot has to offer, and you're in the area, this is the perfect place to go and buy it. read more

Have shopped at many a Home Depot in my day and this particular one is as bad as it gets. Parking. The parking lot is smaller than most Home Depots. Couple that with all of the "day laborers" and their box trucks/dump trucks that they allow to take legitimate customers parking spots makes it somewhat difficult for a person who wants to shop and spend money there to want to even deal with the inconvenience. I often go to Ace Hardware instead because it's less hassle. Or I will go the Salinas Home Depot or Lowe's where parking for non customers is much more regulated. read more

I so appreciate having a Home Depot, close by. I try to fix and replace, repair maintenance issues: before calling in HELP. Over the years, service staff has declined in quality, but there are still good people there. FYI: PG& E does annual, no fee check ups, on your equipment, upon request. I call them first, after I replace batteries and old units. Just added an excellent deadbolt, with touch controls: to the front door. Fabulous, because: no need to hide a key. Please, stay open! **Ridiculously Horrible Experience!** A few nights ago, my partner and I visited the Home Depot in Seaside, CA. We have recently purchased a house, so we've been frequenting Home Depot a lot. On this particular visit, we spotted a set of two beautiful King Palm trees in the garden department. With only those two available, we decided to make the purchase. An employee assisted us and, recalling previous large purchases we'd made (including lumber), we expected to do the same process this time. The clerk called the front desk and instructed us to take the barcode tag to the cashier, while he was supposed to put a "SOLD" sign on the trees. This communication involved a lady who I later found out was the store assistant manager, Deluce. After paying for the King Palms and scheduling a pick-up for the next day, we left feeling accomplished. However, the next morning, my contractor called to inform me that when he arrived at Home Depot, one of the trees was missing--there was only one remaining. Their system showed two palm trees, yet one had mysteriously disappeared. It seemed that Home Depot might have sold one of our trees! A "SOLD" sign had been placed on them, and there was no tag or barcode attached, making it impossible for anyone else to buy them. Home Depot sold my property without my consent?!? Later that evening, my partner and I returned to the Seaside Home Depot to find out what had happened. As professionals, we believe that being rude doesn't lead to resolution, so we approached customer service representative Sarah in a polite manner to explain our situation. To our shock, she responded in the most condescending way. Naturally, we asked to speak with the manager. Sarah called Deluce, explaining the situation in a negative light, insinuating that we had no right to complain since a refund had been issued. **Refund? What refund?** We never asked for a refund; this was the first we had heard of it. We simply wanted to know what happened to our tree! After a long wait, Deluce arrived. I recognized her as the person who had instructed the employee to take the trees back to the garden and attach the "SOLD" sign. To our surprise, Deluce shouted that "we don't hold plants and trees overnight," trying to put the blame on us for this mess. I questioned why we weren't informed of this policy the day before, as it would have prevented this entire ordeal--our contractor wouldn't have wasted his time, and our backyard plans wouldn't have been thrown into disarray. I even offered to drive to the nearest store in Salinas, 50 miles away, to see if they had a King Palm available. Deluce went to check and returned to inform me that Salinas did not have any, but she expected a delivery the next day. She promised to call us as soon as they arrived, which felt like a way to quickly dismiss us. Surprisingly, she never called. My partner and I are educated professionals who spend a significant amount of money at Home Depot for our various properties. But regardless of our background, every customer deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. This experience was unacceptable and deeply disappointing. The most disappointing part is that no one at Home Depot accepted the slightest responsibility and even stated, "Sorry for your inconvenience." read more

Service, what service? No reflection on any specific "associate" simply because I never was given the opportunity to speak to one. My contractor checked out the availability of a large window which it turned out one was available via special order- he finds the products, I pay and he installs. Called my local Seaside store over a two days and via automated system, kept getting a ring tone with AI claiming intermittently I would be connected to the next available associate. This cycle went on for 5+ minutes and never an associate did appear - called 5 times over the two day period. All I wanted to know is if I could place my $1,500 order over the phone or needed to come in - guess I am coming in. Oh, I live 20 minutes away and only other choice is Lowes 40 minutes away. For other future projects maybe Lowes may have a better understanding of what customer service actually means. read more

They are chronically under-staffed in the garden check-out exit. I had to wait in line for about 15 minutes. A cashier was having problems with an item because the barcode was removed. There was another station but it was closed. The line was about 9 people long. read more

A two day kitchen cabinet veneer job in Monterey started last Sept. has still not finished this April. Beware. Not even a reply to my messages left to installer coordinator or sales managers. I had a great experience at Home Depot last week. I needed some new door hardware to replace some existing hardware tha had failed. An employee was very helpful in finding a match for me. They also have a key machine that quickly and easily made me some extra replqcement keys. I will definitely come back here in the future for door hardware stuff! read more

Ordered a new Dryer on Monday for Thursday delivery and installation at my aunts house. My aunts phone number is on her account hut she is partially deaf and doesn't always hear her phone. I made sure to be home during the 4 hour delivery window between 11 and 3. They showed up at 10:40am, and there were 3 people home. THEY NEVER KNOCKED ON THE DOOR. They called my aunts phone and she didn't hear it so they left. Now we have to wait until Monday for a delivery. So frustrating. read more

Today was interesting as one of the employees admonished my 14 year old for wearing a tie in the store. It was surreal and I confronted the employee with who they said was his manager. I actually hope management from the store reviews these so that it can be addressed. It was crazy. Other than that they have the common issues that all Home Depot's have - not enough checkouts open and the ones that are, are broken. Other than the event today from the one employee I haven't ever had any other issues when I've gone there. All of them are helpful and they do have plenty of staff on the floor just not enough to get people through self checkout or checkout. read more

I just wanted to give a big shout out to some of the people that really helped my friend and I on a return March 16, 2026. My friend's husband had emergency surgery done in San Francisco, placing rods in 2,3 and 4 in his back. She had bought him a lift chair through Home Depot on line not even realizing he would be coming home in a wheelchair. He came home and loved the chair he needed so desperately, unfortunately a rod had snapped underneath and made the chair lean. From what I read we had only one day left to try to return it, I went down and talked to Oscar explained the importance of this chair and without hesitation he said bring it back. He made the notes on his side to accept the return and gave it to my friend at the same price. When we got it loaded up and took it back Oscar had left but he had explained it to Archie who stood by at the return desk the whole time until it was finished completely. This was after Danica D. had offed us some cold water on what was a record breaking temperature day. That was a first time at any store I had ever been in to offered cold waster, she was very friendly and we loved her generosity. Also giving a big thank you to Arianna(sp?) and Sara for figuring out this return/repurchase at the same price, getting it delivered to the house this time instead of the store. Everybody was fast, friendly and mostly compassionate with this situation. We both appreciated it so much. This is a review for the tool rental section. I had called in to inquire about renting a rug doctor for some last minute carpet cleaning at the old apartment. On the phone I was greeted by an employee who gave me a fantastic deal: pay for four hours but with extended time over night and in the morning. When I arrived the same man greeted me and asked if I had ever used a rug doctor. I said no, and he then voluntarily gave me a free tutorial on how to operate the rug doctor properly. I had joked that he must have drilled that tutorial several times because it was clear and crisp. The tool rental and return process was easy. Poorly managed. This place allows anyone and everyone to park along the front of the building in the fire lane all day long in an already congested parking lot making it impossible to pass when there is two way traffic. On top of that they allow 100+ guys looking for work to loiter all over the parking lot, often taking up valuable limited parking spaces, standing around in empty spots and creating even MORE congestion. Maybe take some pride in your store and clean this stuff up, it's an absolute mess. This is a smaller Home Depot than most. Practicing efficiency in an already small parking lot is paramount. Feel like this is common sense, but clearly someone needs to say it! read more

DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES EXPECTING THEM TO BE INSTALLED!!!!! You can pay for installation, you can ask to confirm, NONE of this will do any good. I have had several bad experiences with this store. Today I am sitting here with a microwave that my landlord paid to have installed and when the crew showed up before they even looked at my kitchen they already decided that they were not going to install it. They accused me of having not paid for install and haul away. When I informed them I had they called the office to hopefully prove me wrong. Then when they realized I had paid for installation they decided they didn't have tools and couldn't drill through the tile on the wall to install it. Tile is common in kitchens isn't it? Last week they came with a damaged microwave and NEVER said they couldn't install it. I had to refuse it because it was damaged. IF the tile was an issue today it was an issue last week- I had a week to find someone to come today- instead I trusted these jerks. So now I have to find somebody on my own, which is proving difficult. The very same thing happened to me when I lived in Marina and bought a washer and dryer and they were supposed to install it and the guys showed up left the appliances in the driveway helped themselves to some free donuts I had in the garage and left. Thankfully I had a plumber on site who graciously installed them for me. The day we went in to buy the microwave we had done all of our work online- down to the appliance, color, everything. All we basically needed to do was get a printout from them and pay. The women sitting in the appliance department was engrossed in 'an appointment' that lasted a few minutes after she told us she would be tied up for 1.5 hours and ignored us. We found someone from flooring to call someone to help us. Do yourself a favor and don't buy any appliances from this store unless you already have somebody else lined up to install them. Last week I was in desperate need for some specific grab bars for the shower. I had endlessly looked on line. I went to the store and the bars I wanted were not on the shelf. Then she proceeded to find the bars in the store- located in another section. I left the store with what I need. She was super knowledgeable and friendly. THE BEST. The inventory at this place is excellent, and Dan provided exceptional assistance! I encountered difficulties locating various items, but he was professional and friendly, guiding me to everything I required. His efficiency was noteworthy, and he even assisted in loading everything into my car. Two days down the line, through the project needed some issues addressed but they took time to address everthing over phone. They should hire personnel capable of answering phone calls. Been waiting for 3 months now for Home Depot to get their blind cutter fixed. Waited 35 minutes on the phone while it rang. Hung up and called another 5 times. Still no answer. Tried calling again the next day and after being on hold for 40 minutes and being transferred 3 times. The guy finally picked up and said they called in an order for the repair. That's what they said 3 months ago. Called again today still no answer and all the front can say is they are really busy. Customer service when you're there is Excellent. On the phone.... Home Depot has a good selection of plants but their order pickup doesn't work, and their customer service can be confused. My contractor told me to buy 4 boxes of vinyl plank flooring, but when the I went to pick it up, the harried person told me it could be 24-48 hours. This is a product I bought 31 cases of, but they only have 1 color on shelf. I decided to return the next afternoon. 48 hours seemed a bit long. Went to customer service. A nice person told me the order hadn't been pulled it would be 20 minutes. Went to go look at Christmas decorations. Returned got new customer service person who told me the product was discontinued. She was struggling to use the computer. I said this wasn't what the last guy said. He popped in, and told her they did have it but it was on a top shelf. It took about an hour, but managed to get the flooring. I'm not upset about it, but I think their staff needs more training and they didn't have enough people to do the job. They were clearly filling orders that came in after mine so not sure what to think. read more
