this county has limited options for appliance installations. repair shops emphasize reductions in servifes they offer. duncan's was so understanding when is aid that i needed help with with disconnecting an oven. it really blows when it takes 2-3 businesses to install an appliance after the merchant can't do it all. duncan's empathy was greatly appreciated and the fees well, since the options are limited seemed reasonabile. i'd refer him for the broad range of services that are becoming less accessible. read more

I am so glad I chose Duncan's Appliances. We made an appointment to have our dryer looked at - they arrived within the time window - diagnosed the problem - called me later to tell me the cost of the repair (and recommended NOT repairing it and to just use the dryer until it actually died...). Some confusion in getting a scheduled delivery with Justin, but once Raphael came, the dishwasher installation was completed to my satisfaction. Raphael was polite, thorough and he gave attention to detail. I appreciate his skills and the time he gave to doing the job well. Have not used it yet, just installed yesterday. WOW! Duncan's Appliance is so great! My husband's construction company has used them for years for appliance installation and we knew they were great at that. Called the shop on a Monday evening. Justin responded and was able to get out here on Wed. Don't want that to be a precedent as he is very busy, but he took the time quickly to address our concerns with the most professional means I have likely ever seen in a repair technician. I won't go anywhere else now. BTW this was for an 11 year old LG front load washer for which he had parts at the shop and on his truck. He has given it new life and delayed a major purchase for us. I stopped in today looking for a part for my Samsung Dryer. I had been to several places and it was no where to be found. The laundry was stacking up pretty bad at our house. A local parts dealer suggested I try Duncan's. He thought they might have a spare machine around they used for parts. My "vintage" Kenmore dryer stopped providing heat. I tried to self diagnose the problem via numerous YouTube videos. I had a local repair person inspect the machine who through much effort was not able to diagnose the proper repair; much to his credit, he referred me to Duncan's Appliances. Now I believe I know why Duncan's Appliances is so busy. Justin and Raphael, working as a team, decided to take my machine to the shop. Washing machine was on the fritz - very off balanced. I called these guys to come out and help - they couldn't get here same day but we agreed on a date and time for them to arrive. Showed up exactly on-time and immediately diagnosed the problem. I needed 2 of three shock-absorbers which had malfunctioned after about 10 years - one was completely detached. I also needed a new fill-valve because water was intermittently appearing in the tub. They gave me a quote for the parts and labor, and a timeframe for when the repair could be done. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Very disappointed in them. Called Monday to get a repair for my dryer. It wasn't heating and the rep said he knew exactly what was wrong and would order 2 parts. I called Wednesday to see when the parts would be in and to schedule a repair day. He didn't remember me at first but then said he only ordered 1 part and if the other was necessary they would order it! He just called (Friday) and said he had the part in and it would be a $200 service call plus the part. I told him the 2 other companies I called quoted a service charge of $75 and $149 so he was way high on his fee. He said "you want it or not".....then said he could come down to $180! Beware if you plan to use this company and get a firm price ahead of time. Will not do business with a company who takes advantage. read more

They gave me a call back a day after I left a voicemail. A guy named Justin helped me and he was very polite and professional. They scheduled a visit for a few days later--I couldn't find anyone else available for sooner than a month. They showed up and immediately let me know my washer wasn't worth fixing and offered me an incredible deal on a refurbished one they had on hand. A week later I'm happy at my home with a working washer! They are wonderful. read more

Short version: I bought two used but beautiful appliances from them, and worked with Arnold. He was extraordinary: super nice on the phone, made a long-distance delivery that wasn't the easiest to do, and did it all with a smile. You will not get attitude or grumpiness from these guys as they are lifting a 700-pound refrigerator. As for the one negative review from about a year ago, I can only speculate; my experience with Duncan's Appliance and with Arnold is one of the best service-related experiences I have ever had. Long version: I saw an ad in Craigslist for a refrigerator and did my research. I indicated my interest, but told them I live 2+ hours north of them. Arnold responded saying he has a colleague who would be going up to my area but he can only do curb-side delivery, as his friend isn't equipped to handle an inside delivery of a large refrigerator. I had to politely turn this down, since I wasn't able to bring it inside myself. A week or so later, Arnold reaches back out to me. He's very nice again, no sales tactics, asking if I would be interested. I told him the only hiccup is the inside delivery. I asked him what it would take for him and his team to do it, telling him to come up with a fair price for delivery and then let me decide if I can afford it. From there, he wanted to get as much info as possible, and I sent him images of the stairs leading to the front door and the pathway going to the back of the house. He came up with what I thought to be a reasonable price, especially considering they'd be driving about 5 hours round trip to make the delivery. This was basically going to be their entire day. He then asked if I needed anything else, and it turned out he had a dishwasher I had been wanting that accepts custom panels. These were both high-end and barely-used appliances. We agreed to things and Arnold understandably wanted to double check that I would be home and pay him. He was really respectful about this, and I totally understood. He was taking something of a risk delivering so far away, but I reassured him. I was taking a risk, too, it must be said: he had sent me pictures and model numbers and serial numbers, but I didn't see them in person. He was forthright about this, saying he'd prefer I see them in person but there was no way I could do so. But I thought the risk was worth it because of the way Arnold was so forthright and nice to work with. The night before delivery, I got a picture of the appliances "locked and loaded." The next day, he got to my house with two other guys, and all three of them were all smiles and warm handshakes and then got to the business of bringing in a 700-pound refrigerator. They got it inside like the pros they are. This is not a fly-by-night operation. They have the tools and truck and know-how to get very large and very heavy appliances into the home. Here's what I most appreciated about Duncan's and about Arnold personally: they were honest and they did everything with smiles. There is nothing I dislike more than hiring someone to do something who then goes on to complain the whole time they do it. I'd rather pay someone what they know they are worth and who will do the work with energy and pride. That's exactly what Arnold and his crew did. Thanks so much, Arnold! read more

They are quick to make a deal when selling (and we were very happy with our items we bought there) but buying is a different ball game. They picked up a washer and dryer we bought at their place and said they'd call us to make a price. I had to call them about five times until I finally got someone on the phone who's he willing to make me a price which turned out to be ridiculous. Not reliable. Phone etiquette is the worst, put us off for over a week which in turn delayed us from finding someone else to do the work. Very unprofessional, poor phone skills and not worth the aggravation of calling them back four times to schedule an appointment. How people stay in business with this type of customer service is beyond me. I don't know what to think after getting off the phone with these folks. The gentleman, I believe, was trying to save me money at first by not selling me a power cord to my washer. I explained to him that I had ruled out just about every other component and he told me that I probably didn't fix it right and that the only way to fix it was to bring it in to his shop. He wouldn't sell me the part! I know I'm not the great guru of washer repair but I've never had an appliance I haven't been able to fix.
