A washing machine was purchased online and scheduled to be delivered and installed. The delivery was for a washing machine that was stacked. When ordered there was no warming that Home Depot would not install the washing machine when a dryer is stacked on top of it. The delivery person took the washing machine and left it locking access to the bathroom. They would not come back for 2 to 4 days to move it. I had to find a contractor to come and move it out of the way so the bathroom could be used. Not installing it is understandable and accepted that I did not know they could not install. But to leave it blocking the bathroom without offering to move anywhere else is not acceptable and just plain bad. But the really hateful action was that management would do nothing knowing that their employee had caused the problem. read more

I came to Home Depot looking for supplies for a job, and I was having trouble finding the RX35 Drywall Primer, so I asked a group of employees. The sales representative David was quick to just say "no" without checking or helping us look. Luckily, Danielle was there and knew they had it in stock and helped us find it. It's okay to not know, or to say let me check, but David was quick to just say no and go about his business. Had Christina not been there, we probably would have had to go to another store. It's funny because there was pleasantly in stock. The only reason I'm leaving 3 stars is because of Christina, but David definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. We told Christina we were leaving her a positive review, and David took off his apron, hiding his name and proceeded to ignore us and avoid eye contact when passing us. This is the SECOND time dealing with this person here at the Seaside Home Depot and I just HAVE TO YELP ABOUT IT NOW!!!! He works in the Paint Department . His name is DANNY. I have never seen an employee work so hard trying to take care of 7, yes , Seven people waiting for questions and paint to be mixed... I witnessed Danny telling people, " I will be right with you, sorry for the wait!" He kept smiling and literally running to shelves getting what he needed. NEVER one time did that smile leave his face and nobody was helping him. Nobody in sight. So I left only to return later and see Danny still hard at work with a smile. Today I went to get an item that was out of stock. But there he was! Danny! I asked about the item, as I really needed it, he checked in back and then went out of his way to stop and order some for me. Be here a few days... No problem! This is one of those employee's that make up for all the people that hate their job and hate the world and don't really give a hoot what you want or do they care . We had an issue with one of the subcontractors Home Depot used for our countertops. I spoke with Anne in the Home Improvement Dept who helped us figure out a solution. She was friendly and considerate, which was a pleasant surprise to deal with someone so helpful in such a stressful situation. This is our local Home Depot store. I think it's a medium sized store. They have a decent selection of lumber and tools. I'm only giving three stars because the parking lot is an absolute warzone and there are a lot of unsavory folks in the immediate area. I've seen many times where Home Depot security has stopped shoplifters and I've seen it get nasty. I feel so bad for the staff that constantly have to deal with that. read more

Walking into this Home Depot is like playing Russian Roulette with your purchases. You never know if you are going to actually be able to get down the aisle or not. More than 50% of my visits to this location have resulted in the aisle I need to be on being blocked off and usually for a forklift that is on the next aisle over NOT EVEN IN the aisle I need. I have gotten so tired of standing around for 10 or 15 minutes doing nothing while all this is happening that I have decided that I would rather spend that time driving to another hardware store. I don't even care if it costs me more money for the same items. It is still better than wasting time waiting on them to open the aisle again for business. In fact in a couple of days I am purchasing almost $1000 worth of Dewalt Power Tools and I think I am going to just get them from Amazon solely to avoid having to deal with this lame store. read more

We went to Home Depot for carpet in Seaside. We set up an appointment to get the house measured for the carpet. I waited for the carpet people to call me I finally called them they said oh by the way the technician won't be out today. I drove three hours from my main home to get this measurement done. I set up a new appointment called and confirmed since they didn't call me. They promised I would have an appointment first thing in the morning. It's now 11 AM and the measuring man still wasn't here. If I had to do all over again I would choose a different company. Between Home Depot and the company that they've hired to do all the measuring there is no communication. Very disappointed with the way I've been treated I will never buy carpet from them again. read more

Although I like Home Depot products & selection just fine, this review explains why I will never use their delivery service again: Fri Aug 20: I went into the Seaside store and spent an hour hand-picking lumber--(3) plywood sheets, (12) 2x4s, (3) 2x2s, (3) hardboard, and (1) concrete board. I paid at the pro desk, and, because I have no truck, requested delivery. They tagged my stuff for delivery the following Wednesday btwn 6AM - 8PM. (Seriously? For $79, they couldn't even provide an AM/PM window? The man said 'no.') Tue Aug 24: I received a "Change in delivery" email saying the hardboard would be delivered separately (why?!) on Thursday. (Oh great, another day to get up early and wait.) Wed Aug 25: I got up at 5:30 and began waiting. 11:12, Received a "your order is out for delivery" email that said everything, including the hardboard, but excepting the 2x2s was on the way. 11:13, received a duplicate email. 12:14: Got the "on the way" call. 12:30: Truck arrives. It's empty except for "my" stuff, and except it wasn't my stuff. In the store, after carefully hand-selecting my material, I'd marked my pieces. The delivered items weren't mine--same kind, but not quality. Half the 2x4s were warped, checked, or cracked. The driver told me he couldn't make a partial delivery, so I had to reject the entire lot. If they were delivering pieces they'd selected--same as an online order for which delivery is free--why did they charge me? 12:27 same day: I called the store for what's next. Their solution? Come in, pick new pieces, and ask the clerk to tag the purchase as "hand-picked." I'd have thought that fact was obvious. 1:21, received a callback from the store: They "found" my stuff and could deliver it Friday. From 6AM-8PM, of course. Fri Aug 27: Got up at 5:30 and started waiting again. (Like last time, of course I went about doing other things, but still...) 4:30 PM, no email delivery notice and no delivery; called the store. They said they had until 8 to deliver, and added, to get a 2-hr window is $20 more. Now they tell me. And after Wednesday's fiasco, they should have offered it (for free) for the Friday delivery. Back to waiting... 5:55 PM: Got the "on the way" call, 6:05 truck arrives. Verified items all accounted for (yes) and mine (yes), and, with help from a friend, unloaded in minutes--in time to still make it to dinner w/same. 6:18, rcvd email confirming I'd taken delivery. Moral? Save the delivery fee to buy dinner for a friend with a truck who'll be happy to make arrangements for a 2-hr window that suits you both! read more

Very disappointed with the customer service. I hired home depot to install a closet system for my new walk-in closet. It was costly, but it was worth it. They take full payment upfront, which I was okay with knowing they are a reputable company. I waited almost 7-8 weeks for the installation to be done. They called me, and I scheduled the installation; I took off work and waited for the installer to arrive. Unfortunately, the installer never showed up, not even a courtesy call from Home Depot. I am frustrated trying to get it rescheduled; they have my funds, and my hands are tied; yikes! Did anyone else have this problem any suggestions? I highly recommend not using them for closet installation. read more

We ordered a dishwasher with delivery and installation. Asked if we needed parts (including hoses), we said yes and were charged accordingly. On the delivery day the dishwasher arrived without the proper hose. We had to reschedule for 3 days later, the soonest available. That day, the delivery truck arrived with the hose -- but without the dishwasher! Someone had noted installation only, so the crew didn't load and deliver the appliance. We had to reschedule for two days later. Two days later, they arrived with the dishwasher but without the proper hose again. Thankfully, the driver was willing to try to make it work with our existing hoses and connector, and he succeeded. In the end we had to set aside 3 days to be home for the delivery (they give a 4 hr window), move all our furniture and unhook our current dishwasher three times, and only succeeded at that point because of the ingenuity of the driver, despite the repeated failure of the company to arrange our installation. read more

Appliance Department!!!! What a nightmare. And not for the first time. A couple of years ago we bought a dishwasher - the installers dropped it off and left it, uninstalled. We complained - no responsibility taken because the delivery system is not "part of Home Depot". It is subcontracted - though they admitted there had been complaints. Fast forward to last November. We bought a refrigerator - due to deliver at the end of December (their earliest). What a disaster. The delivery was not made, but the "Installation kit" truck (full delivery truck) showed up. No refrigerator. Many phone calls, including with management who denied that we had placed the original $2,000+ order though we had receipts. Then they placed a "new" order for February delivery. Yeah. No. Another reason - a flub up. Yesterday - we had a confirmed delivery date through email, and a phone call with a delivery window. Moved all the food out of the old fridge to make room, cleaned out the space - another no show. A phone call to the delivery company revealed that the refrigerator was in the warehouse and we had to wait another week for delivery. This has been an epic disaster. 4 contacts with the delivery company has resulted in ZERO appliance for which have paid. We are beyond exasperated. Never again. Don't waste your efforts being drawn in to any appliance sales. Home Depot - get out of appliance sales. You are not capable of delivering the products and your subcontractors are shameless. read more

By far the worst buying experience we've ever had. We are new homeowners and had to get a new washer and dryer to make additional space in our garage due to needing to store a classic car in our garage that was coming from our old home. Since we were in a time crunch, we had it orders through our local Home Depot for delivery on the 20th of February. When we called to get a status and delivery window on our new appliance yesterday, we were told it wasn't coming until the 28th, then the 20th again after spending an hour doing a combination of getting hung up on and put on hold. This morning we called to get our deliver window and are now being told the 27th, 28th and the 1st of the following month. We are pretty pissed at this point because we got rid of the old washer and dryer to make room plus we have to get our vehicle off of the old property by this weekend or it will cost an additional $3K for not fully vacating. This situation has caused an insane amount of emotional and financial stress in our household. Contacting an attorney. Update: this place still sucks. Delivered a dented dryer and screwed up on hooking our washer up. We rejected the dryer and have been on the phone for 4+ hours comprised of getting hung up on and transferred to the wrong people. We just booked a 2000 sq ft remodel and not one dime will be spent with Home Depot in Seaside. Everyone (especially management) in customer service and delivery should be fired. Extremely rude, incapable of doing their jobs and completely incapable of follow through. Replace them with machines. Farm their jobs out to another country. You'd get better results. If you order any appliances for delivery and experience problems, know that you will be shuffled around in the phone for hours between various sub-contractors all abdicating responsibility for whatever went wrong. I've scheduled Delovery here 6 times in the last 6 months and they just don't show up, even though the app confines delivery time , the store manager confirms delivery time , the time comes and goes. I've talked to the manager, the district manager and to Atlanta and they just don't seem to care. Never experienced anything like that. This Home Depot is located right off the highway going North. I went in there looking for propane and quickly got lost and confused, so my only complaint would be that there were no free employees to ask questions for almost 10 minutes, but when I finally did find someone he was very helpful and friendly and led us all the way to the other end of the store. They also have self checkout here which is cool. read more

Wow...quite a few bad reviews on customer service. Having never been to this particular Home Depot, I was unaware until after when I read the Yelp reviews. However, I did receive great service from Gustavo. Asked to have 3 keys made and he dropped what he was doing and gladly helped me on the spot. While he made the keys, I had other questions about tool kits and hacksaws...he was quite informative and friendly, too. I am from the Bay Area and sometimes it can be quite impersonal there and you just hope to get served with what you need and nothing more. So many of their employees do not know where items are located. I've asked three different employees where an item is, and got three different answers. The blind department other than Diane, is the worse, especially the company they' use to install blinds, named Sam's Blinds. They are the worse company I've ever dealt with with two different projects. Wrong measurements, not showing up or showing up at the wrong location, etc. Don't use them. read more

I needed to buy some chain for a Halloween costume. Enter in Home Depot. This location was fairly interesting in the fact that it was either incredibly helpful and friendly, or it wasn't. Most of the associates were overly helpful, asking if they could help us find anything, but the gentleman who cut the chain was fairly off putting and not at all friendly. I tend to like Orchard a bit better since their key makers are automatic, but having self service check out is a real plus. I'd drop by again. read more

The employee who was on register 5 at 11:59 AM the morning of May 1st I felt was completely rude. Half the checkstand lane was blocked off by some orange gate so no large wood carts could get through and it was causing me to get slightly claustrophobic. I opened the gate to get some space and the cashier lady came bolting around the counter and swung it back with no word to me. Not even a this needs to be closed for this reason comment. I felt a slow closing of the gate with an, "I'm sorry I'm going on break and store policy states I need to close this gate" or anything would have been more appropriate customer service. Let's just say after spending $170.00 at this location I am disappointed again. It's right down the street from me but I think from now on I'll just keep going to Watsonville. The only reason I am giving this place 3 stars instead of 1 is because yesterday I needed wood and they had it in stock and I noticed walking around they had a lot of good quality wood in stock which has not been the usual for this location showing signs of possible improvement. Also the wood employee helped me twice and two employees were on the clock who could use the saw and helped me cut a piece of wood. A big improvement over my last experience. I mean I get it no one likes to be over 50 working at home depot probably trying to clock out for your lunch getting held up helping people. I've worked crappier jobs skipping lunch to help customers and I know it's not fun. I guess all in all I should give her kudos for not losing her temper at me and saying something negative. I was simply disappointed in what I believed was a passive aggressive way of handling the situation....says the man leaving a yelp review.
